Look, the kid was just getting his reparations. There was no reason for the cops to shoot him. Kids shoplift all the time. Shoplifting shouldn't carry the death penalty. /sarcasm

let me get in front of the BLM / Antifa narrative for this one:
poor Travon was in fear for his life because of the evil wypeepo cops that have been gunning down BIPOC. Ergo he had to shoot the cop in self defense.
His earlier attempted murder of the security guard will be ignored.

I'm thinking this is like the Boulder shooting. Once the perp and his motivation are nailed down, the whole thing will prove not to have happened. Just ask the professional outragists.

Remind me again why we have cops in schools.
[CHICAGO.SUNTIMES] Uniformed reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown ...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel... coppers won’t return to patrolling the city’s public high schools for the rest of this academic year, Chicago Public Schools officials said Friday.
The removal of school cops is temporary until the fall but is being welcomed as a good first step by students who for years have advocated for police-free schools. It comes as about one-third of CPS high school students returned for in-person learning this week for the first time since the pandemic began.
"With less than two months remaining in the school year and reduced daily in-person attendance, we feel that the presence of full-time SROs is not necessary at this time," CPS chief of security Jadine Chou wrote in an email to families.
"Please be assured that the safety of your children remains our top priority, and we are confident that your school has the necessary staff in place to safely support the limited number of students who have returned to learn in person."
Chou said CPS would keep working with the Chicago Police Department to "ensure our school buildings receive attention from coppers in the neighborhood, particularly during high traffic times like dismissal."

Great place to send officers that nobody else on the force wants to work with.

Confirmed, although the logjam appears to be breaking. I filed a 1040 for someone on April 2nd; the money just moved this past Friday.
Oh - and if you have to mail anything to the IRS, DO NOT send it to Kansas City! They're still a few months behind from the 2+ million letters they let build up during the Great Corona Virus Panic of 2020.

There's another one I might look into. Some high school buddies said they e-filed in early to mid-February and haven't gotten their refund as of last week. I offered to look into it and I'm waiting for them to get back to me.

unfortunately, there is a considerable potential for fraud in this and the IRS has to invest time and effort to prevent it

It is my understanding that they have been overwhelmed.Stimulus checks and so on. Fellow gets his tax refund but not his stimulus because they need more information.
Fifty petri dishes. It will be interesting to see if Georgia is doing something worth copying.
[Yahoo] Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signed a bill on Wednesday that would make daylight saving time all year.
The bill would still need approval from Congress, WSB-TV reported.
Lawmakers across the US have been pushing to make daylight saving time permanent.
Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp has signed a bill that would make the state have daylight saving time all year, according to multiple reports.
The Republican governor signed Senate Bill 100 earlier this week, on April 21, according to WSB-TV. The bill was greenlit by the Georgia General Assembly in March and aims to prevent residents from switching their clocks two times a year, according to Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Look dudes, just reclassify the zones - Eastern becomes Atlantic, Central becomes Eastern, Mountain becomes Central, and Pacific becomes Mountain. We no longer live in the tempo and world of the mid-19th Century when the original zones were codified for the new technology of railroads.

Farmers with stock generally prefer 'Standard Time'.
More light in the AM most of the year and 'Cows don't care what your watch says'.

...well before railroads, everything was 'local' time. Prior to that the only people really 'hooked' on a specific time were mariners who needed to know Greenwich Mean Time to calculate their position in the world.

Was never sold on the whole daylight saving thing. After all Dairy cows don't care, it adds an unnecessary additional constant in astronomical observations.

The first wave, which struck six months ago, proved to be manageable. Younger people were hardly affected. Now, the under-40s are sick too. Two-month-old babies are becoming infected. Pregnant women are dying. Hospitals have largely stopped taking patients. Ambulances are taking a whole day to reach some victims.

Yes. Absolutely true. The condition is harrowing, yet millions of Indians gather to celebrate festivals, attend marriages and political rallies. People are blaming the government for it because they don't realize their folly; it is because we didn't follow the Covid-19 protocols, didn't wear a mask outdoors or use hand sanitizers. It's just so bad.
People see India as a mystical place full of buzzing energy and diverse people chasing their own nirvanas all the time. The truth is, most of the population is as neurotic and dangerously unmanageable as those in America and Europe. We are obsessively compelled to hold our stupid ostentatious weddings, pull down that mask and spit around, pee on walls and congregate around water bodies in the hundred thousands for nothing every fucking month.
There is no way the virus could be contained for such a suicidally stupid society. And the idiot Government wasted about a 100 million vaccine kits by sending them to useless shitholes, Pakistan [yupp!] etc until there arose a shortage back home.

A bluff? Because, IMO, if they had a way to knock out enemy satellites, they would've kept it secret for a decisive (given USA military reliance on satellites) surprise.
