[Sudan Tribune] Traditional leadership of the Ngok Dinka and Misseriya failed to strike a deal on peaceful coexistence but reiterated their commitment to peace and security in Abyei.
The United Nations ...where theory meets practice and practice loses... ’ Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) facilitated two meetings between the Ngok Dinka and Misseriya traditional leaders at Diffra on 16 March and 9 April to discuss ways to end intercommunal tensions and enable save corridors for their cattle to graze south to Bahr al-Arab or Kiir River basin.
"While no written agreement was reached during the 9 April meeting, both sides reiterated their commitment to peace and agreed to meet again, in a wider format, once COVID-19 restrictions were lifted," said UNISFA in a statement extended to Sudan Tribune on Sunday.
The Misseriya pastoralists who spend most of the year around Muglad in northern South Kordofan, graze their cattle during the dry season south to Bahr al-Arab or Kiir River basin.
However, corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds... since the attacks of 19-22 January, the southward transhumance of the Misseriya cattle has been stopped, pending an agreement by leaders of both communities.
According to the UNISFA, the Misseriya nomads and their cattle suffered three fresh attacks to prevent their the southward movement towards the grazing areas.
"In one incident, on 2 April in Leu, 4 Misseriya-owned cows died in a rocket-propelled grenade attack and in another, at Hadid near Marial Achak on 9 April, reportedly 2 Misseriya herders were killed and 5 kidnapped, and over 100 cows were rustled," said the statement.
The UN peacekeeping force expressed hope that the leaders of both communities following through on their verbal commitment to peace by translating their words into appropriate action on the ground.

[PUBLISH.TWITTER] The Libyan National Army, led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar, announced that it scored a new advance in the southwestern part of the country in its struggle against the Turkish-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) forces.
The spokesman for the General Command of the LNA, Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, confirmed on his Facebook page on Sunday that their forces have tightened their control over the western Bograin Gate.
He stated that the LNA forces found large quantities of weapons, ammunition and military equipment in the area “after the enemy fled.”
The Bograin Gate is located near the strategic port city of Misrata in the northern part of Libya.
Misrata is one of the main strongholds for the GNA and an important logistical supply port for the latter’s forces.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Libyan National Army, led by Field Marshal Khalifa Haftar ...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Gununu added that forces loyal to Khalifa Haftar had suffered major losses of lives and military equipment in their failed attack on Abu Grein, which saw heavy festivities since early Sunday.
Haftar's forces started attacks in an attempt to advance under Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s' cover with a multinational group of mercenaries - mainly Sudanese and Chadian - pushing GNA forces out of Qadahiya and Zamzam areas and then succeeded in entering Abu Grein with a brief control on the town for several hours.
However, the man who has no enemies isn't anybody and has never done anything... when GNA forces received military backup from Misrata ans Zliten cities and Air Force drones started to fly over the area, they managed to tip the balance to their benefit and caused Haftar's forces massive losses of both lives and military equipment.

Saudis came to reclaim their slice of what looks increasingly like a 3 (or was it 4) way civil war?
Recent Wikipedia history:
On April 30, 2018, the United Arab Emirates, as part of the ongoing Saudi-led intervention in Yemen, landed troops on the island and took control of Socotra Airport and seaport.[34][30] On May 14, 2018, Saudi troops were also deployed on the island and a deal was brokered between the United Arab Emirates and Yemen for a joint military training exercise and the return of administrative control of Socotra airport and seaport under Yemeni control.
In May 2019, the Yemeni government accused the United Arab Emirates of landing around 100 separatist troops in Socotra, which the UAE denied, deepening a rift between the two nominal allies in Yemen's civil war.
In February 2020, a regiment of the Yemeni Army stationed in Socotra rebelled and pledged allegiance to the UAE-backed separatist Southern Transitional Council in Socotra, renouncing the UN-backed government of Hadi.

I would not have had a clue to which side the attackers and defenders belonged until I read "Saudi-led aggression coalition". Still it was a let down as only a few months ago it was the "American Saudi-led aggression coalition". I feel ... downgraded.
[SABA.YE] Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... 's army front man Yahya Sarie said on Monday The forces of aggression launched more than a dozen advances in the past 72 hours.
The official front man of Saba said that aggression warplane also carried out more than 100 raids on a number of provinces, mostly on Marib and al-Jawf provinces.
