[NYPost] A number of White House staffers were asked to resign or demoted for past marijuana use — regardless of whether those employees had been in one of the 14 states where the drug is legal, according to a report.
The Biden administration had required workers to disclose past marijuana use on a background check form, but told some new hires that it would "overlook" those who answered yes, the Daily Beast reported.
Despite this, White House director of management and administration Anne Filipic reportedly led a series of one-on-one calls with staffers this month, asking those who admitted to past marijuana use to resign or be placed in a remote work program.
"It’s exclusively targeting younger staff and staff who came from states where it was legal," one former staffer told the Beast. Seems to me that alienating one of your core support groups isn't the best way to stay in power. Unless of course you plan on using the military to stay in power.
[Breitbart] President Joe Biden said Thursday Americans should continue wearing their masks to combat the coronavirus pandemic until the "vast majority" of the population was vaccinated.
Biden picked up his mask and showed it to the cameras as he read off of the teleprompter.
"We’ve got to reach the point where we have herd immunity, meaning when where we have had a vast majority of the American people have been vaccinated before we can stop wearing these," he said.
Biden’s remarks differed slightly from his comment Monday specifying all Americans should wear masks until "everyone" in the country was vaccinated. That comment, the White House clarified Thursday, was Biden speaking "generally" of the importance of mask-wearing.
Biden warned of a possible third wave of the virus in Europe if Americans began ignoring guidance from the federal government.
"Keep the faith, keep wearing a mask, keep washing your hands, and keep socially distanced," he said. "We’re going to beat this."
Biden sent a mixed message to Americans, boasting of the speed of vaccine distribution throughout the country. But he also warned it would still be a long time before things would go back to normal.

Go piss up a rope Joe and Fauci. Masks DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING. The science is clear. Studies of mandatory counties with lockdowns vs optional and open counties show NO DIFFERENCE. It means that masks do not make a difference.

Stuff-It-Joe and Stuff-It-Fauci. I haven't seen any data that says these masks work to protect against CV-19. Moreover, the masks might create some health problems for some people.
[NYPOST] CNN ...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for... is accused of pushing "clickbait conspiracy theories" with its deep dive into whether Abraham Lincoln was a racist — and concluding that the answer is "complicated."
The lengthy "analysis" was published Sunday under the headline "Did Black lives matter to Abraham Lincoln? It’s complicated" and penned by enterprise news hound John Blake.
It delves into the 16th president’s "complex and evolving" legacy, noting that in recent years, Honest Abe’s perception of black and Native Americans has been called into question. By insignificant trash who're not fit to wipe his ass
"If some of Lincoln’s public utterances about Blacks were retweeted today, he would have been canceled on social media and likely run out of office," Blake writes in the article, which coincides with a six-part podcast series on Lincoln’s legacy.
The piece was bashed by political satirist Tim Young, who accused the network of trying to save its dwindling viewership since President Donald Trump ...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party... left office by finding "a new boogeyman."
"CNN is officially jumping the shark with this new take that Lincoln was a racist — which is the final nail in the coffin for them being able to call themselves a news organization — now they’re just clickbait conspiracy theories," Young told Fox News. "Anything for a buck, including calling the president who ended slavery racist. Way to prove why no one should ever believe a thing that’s ever on your network."

He considered everyone deserving of moral consideration and to be self-directed humans. That places him far, far above the modern left, who consider non-whites subhumans incapable of doing anything but reacting to white actions.

There are some subjects that cannot be discussed rationally in public and often in private and that has been the case for at least the last eighty years and probably much longer. Among these is slavery. It is and has been taboo for the last century for anyone to say anything positive about slavery in the United States, and that is what makes the anger of former slaves and some of their descendents at Lincoln unintelligible today.
Lincoln freed the slaves. But slaves had rights guaranteed by law, in the South. To free a slave required that the slave agree to it. Freeing them all deprived slaves of rights previously guaranteed to them (obligations of slave owners to them). Some slaves were angry at losing those rights.
Since the rights can never be mentioned in public, almost nobody today knows what they were angry about.

old Abe is not around to defend himself and historians are afraid to open their mouths. This is clearly an effort by the woke community to get non-woke people to believe they are racists since George Washington, Abraham Lincoln... are now considered racists.

Tear down that memorial.
You forgot to add ;-) or /sarcasm, Clem.
It doesn’t matter if Mr. Lincoln thought Blacks were inferior, so long as he thought they were entitled to the same rights and freedoms as white citizens and was willing to act to ensure they got them. After that, he was content to let individual ability and ambition do for them what it had done for him — a mostly self-taught backwoods nobody who’d risen to be president of the United States.
[NYPOST] In its latest move to destroy all Empire State education standards, the Board of Regents is using the pandemic as an excuse to eviscerate a gold-standard learning assessment: the Regents exams for high school graduation.
The Biden administration turned down the State Education Department’s request to waive all the Regents and other assessment exams for a second year in a row, so the ones required by the feds (for Algebra I, English, living environment and earth science) will go ahead this June. But SED, with the board’s approval, is scrapping all other Regents in the name of "equity."
As a result, top students across the state will have no idea where they stand academically after all these months of remote learning.
But ensuring that no one knows how bad it’s been may well be the point. Teachers’ unions don’t want anyone held accountable for illiterate and innumerate students. And those unions have huge sway with Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie, who (thanks to a fluke of the state Constitution) effectively controls the Regents and SED and dutifully fills the board with "educators" who believe that assessment tests punish kids.
The Regents (and SED under their direction) have warred against standards and accountability ever since Chancellor Merryl Tisch was pushed out in March 2016, just a year after Heastie took the speakership.

[DAILYWIRE] A group of current and former teachers and others in Loudoun County, Virginia, compiled a lengthy list of parents suspected of disagreeing with school system actions, including its teaching of controversial racial concepts — with a stated purpose in part to "infiltrate," use "hackers" to silence parents’ communications, and "expose these people publicly."Members of a 624-member private Facebook group called "Anti-Racist Parents of Loudoun County" named parents and plotted fundraising and other offline work. Some used pseudonyms, but The Daily Wire has identified them as a who’s who of the affluent jurisdiction outside D.C., including school staff and elected officials.
The sheriff’s criminal investigations division is reviewing the matter — but the group’s activities might be no surprise to top law enforcement because the county’s prosecutor, narrowly elected with the help of $845,000 in cash from George Soros ...either Ernst Stavro Blofeld or Auric Goldfinger come true... , appears to be a member of the Facebook group.
Secret communications reviewed by The Daily Wire do not offer any evidence of racism by the group’s targets. Their opponents were apparently those who objected to, sought to debate, or were even simply "neutral" about "critical race theory," a radical philosophy opposed by many liberals and conservatives but increasingly embraced by governments.
In recent years, Loudoun’s school system has flooded its curricula and policies with racial rhetoric, paying about $500,000 to one racial consulting company alone. It required all staff to undergo "Equity in the Center" training that promoted a sense of injustice and urgency.

It's starting. Red Brigades, Harper Valley PTA branch.
We can wait until it's out of control, or cut off the snake before it reproduces and threatens our republic.
Too much traffic, too many potential witnesses. Keep with the theme of Harper, and use one of the Harper's Ferry bridges instead; they will drift down the Potomac past Loudoun County, over the Great Falls, under the Chain Bridge, under the Key Bridge, under the Wilson Bridge, past Mount Vernon and who knows, they could make it all the way to Assawoman!
The woke former geography teachers in the group might even enjoy the trip !

A Canadian father has been arrested for “misgendering” his own 14-year-old child by calling her his “daughter,” and referring to her with the pronouns “she” and “her.”

[NYPOST] A Staten Island nursing home administrator told Fox News in an exclusive interview that he and executives at other facilities were "petrified" by New York Gov. Andrew Sonny Cuomo’s infamous March 2020 order that COVID-positive patients be placed in long-term care facilities rather than hospitals.
However, women are made to be loved, not understood... Michael Kraus told Fox News correspondent Aishah Hasnie that his concerns were "shot down" by state officials.
Hasnie’s full interview with Kraus can be seen in the 2 pm ET hour of "America Reports" Thursday on Fox News Channel.
"Many facilities vocalized it," said Kraus. "They were petrified, but they were more petrified of the Department of Health ... once it [my concern] was shot down, I never spoke [about it] again."

In the fog of the Hunan Chi-Com Virus (manmade bio weapon) War (2018 - ?), Yes I suppose a command from the chief executive of your State (Governor) is a Command.
Woefully, the other two branches of State governance did not step-up to question (counter-balance) the Command Directives (Executive Orders) of this individual.
Much of the fog has lifted, the perceived urgency of the situation is being examined by citizenry of many nations, states and non-governmental organizations.
Politics however was/is/remains the crater from which this biological attack is being judged by the politicians. Once side of the political intelligencia is filling in the crater, while another side is trying to dig out of the steep sided hole of the crater.
Objective medical science is being stifled by the political medical class of the intelligencia, medias (new and old) battle there too.
Cuomo is the point of the spear in this debate, and the other governors not so much. Blue verses Red politics, medicine, and citizenry are ready to take their next command without question.
My opinion is this circular political command structure must be broken, if any progress is to be made in establishing a balanced norm for going ahead with our lives.
[Breitbart] Democrats blocked a bill sponsored by Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks (R-IA), which would require the federal government to test all illegal immigrants for coronavirus.
Republicans introduced a motion to block the previous question on a piece of legislation Tuesday tht would allow for the consideration of Miller-Meeks’ legislation, the Requiring Every Alien to Receive a COVID-19 Test (REACT) Act. This bill would mandate that the Homeland Security Department (DHS) test all migrants crossing the border illegally that the DHS releases into the country.
Miller-Meeks’ office noted that, as of March 8th, the federal government released 185 migrants into Brownsville, Texas, who have tested positive for the coronavirus. The Iowa conservative’s office also said that current law does not require the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) or Immigration and Customs Enforcement to test illegal immigrants for coronavirus.
The CBP is reportedly encountering more than 3,000 migrants per day, which is approaching the levels of the 2019 border crisis.
Miller-Meeks said on the House floor Tuesday night:

We need a "What could possibly go wrong?" category to file this under.
Did read a piece a few days ago that posited the idea that the plan isn't just to import millions of new beholden voters, but to keep the CCP virus scare alive and well to maintain the "state of emergency".
h/t HotAir
A six-month survey of 35,000 Americans carried out by Gallup and Franklin Templeton concluded that there was COVID misinformation circulating on both sides of the political aisle. Here’s how the NY Times described the findings:
To many liberals, Covid has become another example of the modern Republican Party’s hostility to facts and evidence. And that charge certainly has some truth to it. Yet the particular story with Covid is also more complicated — because conservatives aren’t the only ones misinterpreting scientific evidence in systematic ways. Americans on the left half of the political spectrum are doing it, too.
The errors on both sides tend to reinforce the perception that the virus is either not much of a threat or far more dangerous than it actually is. For instance, here’s a chart from a Brookings write-up of the results showing how people in each party believe COVID deaths are distributed by age. As you can see, the truth (yellow bar) is that 80% of deaths have been among those 65 and up. Both parties tend to underestimate old age as a factor in COVID deaths but Democrats’ estimates are consistently worse (further from reality). The Jukes and the Kallikaks?

Wonder how the poll accounted for the 50% increase in likely Covid infections which would correlate to a reduction of death and hospitalization risks recently reported as likely. If so it seems Republican might have overestimated the risk as well, just by a sliver.
[THEHILL] Organizers of the effort to recall Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Gov. Gavin can't be Bee'd Newsom ...mayor of San Francisco as it transformed itself into Poopville, currently governor of California as it transforms itself into Cinderland... (D) submitted more than 2.1 million signatures to get the question onto a ballot later this year in the latest sign that the embattled governor will likely have to face voters in 2021.
Recall backers said Wednesday they submitted 2,117,730 signatures, far exceeding the 1.5 million needed by the Wednesday deadline. Supporters of recall efforts often submit hundreds of thousands more signatures than are needed in anticipation that some will be deemed invalid, but the California organizers appear to be comfortably above the signature threshold even if some are tossed.
"The people of California have awoken," said Randy Economy, a senior adviser to the recall effort.

California is poorly managed and in terrible shape. What are the odds Newsom will be replaced? The rest of us outside of California end up paying for their mismanagement and corruption. Much of the recent COVID stimulus bill money will go to California and other poorly managed blue states. Its everyone's problem.
If successful, Californians might consider Pelosi, Schiff and others who need replaced.

A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
