The first sign is that over the past few days he started doing some articles, and then he commented in the moderator chat:
My sentence is up Friday. Looks like I'm going home on oxygen, but only two percent. Lost thirty pounds -- can't recommend COVID as a weight loss regimen though. Will attempt to contribute more, though I spend most of my time sleeping.
I didn’t say anything immediately, in case Fred had a relapse, but he looks to be in the zone.
The Times of Israel had an article the other day about a small scale study (166 patients) looking at how Covid patients recover, which suggests what we can hope for Fred:

Glad to hear Fred is doing well enough to go home. He got clobbered. Our tax guy got CV-19 and ended up in ICU for 10 days; he lost 20-30 lbs. also. I've known others who have had CV-19 and hardly noticed they had it. Go figure. We don't know everything there is to know about this disease.

This is GREAT! Here's to your full recovery, Fred. Don't worry about us; you just do whatever you need to do to get back to normal. ;-)

This is good news, the Temp who was hired had made a few mistakes, you were off line twice, and some of the pithy editorial comments in the articles were not quite up to snuff, didn't quite have the "Fred Angle"...so now that you are back, Hurrah!!
Your staff did catch the Temp in action:
Better check the till, he might have "self compensated"
Best wishes on your journey of recovery,
Welcome back Mr. Fred !

[The Drive] For years, there has been very limited information available publicly about U.S. counter-terrorism operations in Somalia and the forces, based there and in neighboring countries, carrying them out. The repositioning of the bulk of American military forces out of this East African nation between December 2020 and January 2021, dubbed Operation Octave Quartz, highlighted those activities in a way that had not been previously seen. This has included the release of a significant number of what would have been previously been very rare pictures and video clips of U.S. personnel operating in and around the country. One picture that was recently released, seen at the top of this story, prominently shows what can be considered a "ghost aircraft."
The twin-engine Beechcraft King Air turboprop aircraft with the U.S. civil registration number N27557 was photographed at Baledogle Military Airfield, which is situated some 55 miles northwest of the capital Mogadishu. It was included in a group of images related to the deployment of elements of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) to the base, sometime between the last week of December 2020 and the first week of January 2021, to provide security and other support as American troops pulled out. The Pentagon announced on Jan. 17, 2021, that the repositioning of the majority of U.S. forces out of Somalia was complete. Some interesting photos and information at the link
An interesting series of photos. One wonders who took them, and for what purpose they were released.

A "RU" (I assume Russia) site is posting it's radar of all US and allies planes on the net. You can see the postings on twitter.
#haveglass reposts a lot of them.

The aircraft is fitted with Lynx-2 lightweight, high-performance, multi-function synthetic aperture radar units developed by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems. The radar operates in both synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and ground moving target indicator (GMTI) modes, offering a range of 80km. It provides high-resolution search and rescue imagery in all weather conditions.

In accordance with the Convention on International Civil Aviation (also known as the Chicago Convention), all civil aircraft must be registered with a national aviation authority (NAA) using procedures set by each country. Every country, even those not party to the Chicago Convention, has an NAA whose functions include the registration of civil aircraft. An aircraft can only be registered once, in one jurisdiction, at a time. The NAA allocates a unique alphanumeric string to identify the aircraft, which also indicates the nationality (i.e., country of registration[1]) of the aircraft, and provides a legal document called a Certificate of Registration, one of the documents which must be carried when the aircraft is in operation.[2]
The registration identifier must be displayed prominently on the aircraft.[3] Most countries also require the registration identifier to be imprinted on a permanent fireproof plate mounted on the fuselage in case of a post-fire/post-crash aircraft accident investigation.
Most nations' military aircraft typically use tail codes and serial numbers.[4] Military aircraft most often are not assigned civil registration codes. However, government-owned non-military civil aircraft (for example, aircraft of the United States Department of Homeland Security) are assigned civil registrations.
Although each aircraft registration identifier is unique, some countries allow it to be re-used when the aircraft has been sold, destroyed or retired. For example, N3794N is assigned to a Mooney M20F.[5] It had been previously assigned to a Beechcraft Bonanza (specifically, the aircraft in which Buddy Holly was killed). An individual aircraft may be assigned different registrations during its existence. This can be because the aircraft changes ownership, jurisdiction of registration, or in some cases for vanity reasons.
HADRAMOUT, Feb. 25 (YPA) – Militants of Al-Qaeda organization on Wednesday took control of a number of fuel stations belonging to the Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC)’s branch in Hadramout province, eastern Yemen, sources reported.
Al-Qaeda operatives closed ‘Shibam’ and ‘Al-Houta’ stations for selling oil derivatives, which belong to the company, by force of arms in Hadramout valley, the sources said.
The sources confirmed that Al-Qaeda militants threatened the workers of the two stations with blowing the stations up, if they were operated, so that they would be limited to supplying their vehicles with oil derivatives.
The areas of Hadramout Valley are witnessing a heavy presence of Al-Qaeda militants, without any military action from the leadership of the so-called “First Military Region” loyal to Saudi-led coalition to pursue these elements.
Since 2015, Hadramout districts have witnessed more than 400 assassination crimes that targeted many military and security figures and clerics

[AlAhram] A German court on Wednesday convicted a former Syrian intelligence service agent for complicity in crimes against humanity, in the first court case worldwide over state-sponsored torture by Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad Light of the Alawites... 's government.
[AlAhram] At least 41 people drowned over the weekend when their boat capsized in the Central Mediterranean, the U.N. said on Wednesday, the latest shipwreck involving migrants colonists fleeing conflict-stricken Libya and seeking better life in Europe.
The U.N. migration and refugee agencies said in a joint statement that the dead were among at least 120 migrants colonists on a dinghy that left Libya on Feb. 18. The shipwreck took place two days later, it said.
A commercial vessel rescued the survivors and took them to the Sicilian port town of Porto Empedocle in Italia, they added.
The tragedy started when the dinghy took on water about 15 hours after the migrants colonists embarked on their perilous voyage, the UNHCR said, citing testimonies from survivors. Within hours, at least six people fell into the sea and perished, and two others drowned while attempting to swim to a boat spotted in the distance.
Later, the commercial vessel Vos Triton arrived, and attempted to rescue survivors in what the UNHCR described as a ``difficult and delicate operation.`` Many others died during the rescue operation, it said.
Only one body was recovered, and the missing included three children and four women, one of whom left behind a newborn baby who made it to Lampedusa., it said.
The shipwreck was the latest along the Central Mediterranean migration route, where about 160 Europe-bound migrants colonists have died since the beginning of 2021, the U.N. agencies said.
In the years since the 2011 uprising that ousted and killed longtime dictator Muammar Qadaffy ...Proof that a madman with money will be politely received for at least 42 years until his people get tired of him and kill him... , war-torn Libya has emerged as the dominant transit point for migrants colonists fleeing war and poverty in Africa and the Middle East.
Smugglers often pack desperate families into ill-equipped rubber boats that stall and founder along the perilous Central Mediterranean route. Over the last several years, hundreds of thousands of migrants colonists have reached Italia either on their own or after being rescued at sea.
Thousands have drowned along the way. Others were intercepted and returned to Libya to fall ``victim to unspeakable brutality at the hands of traffickers and militias,'' the U.N. refugee agency said.
Earlier this week, the U.N. migration agency said around 3,600 were returned to the North African country since the beginning of 2021.

I spot two perfectly good places for shooters, with enough capacity for some rapid relocation. By the time someone figures out what's happening, a decent pair can have offed at least ten of them. Use 7.62×39 frangible, collect the shells and git!
Later, they'll blame Russians or islamists. Hell, inscribe 'Allah hoo whatever' on a few lathe turned rounds or something.

Now, you guys all know that nobody will be shot, right? These are not Trump supporters storming the Capitol Building. These are the Party's own and they are pushing the Party's narrative that we are all racists and white supremacists. If push comes to shove they will be allowed to occupy the Rochester Public Safety Building for an unspecified period of time, probably until they get tired of it or until BLM has spent a pre-budgeted amount of funds to keep them supplied with food, water and narcotics.

This continues on because it's allowed to continue on. Moreover, because it's BLM, no one wants to deal with this violent Marxist group for fear of being called racist. It is a form of blackmail (no pun intended.)

Whoa, that Russian gun handles the recoil very well. You could really reach out and touch some one with it. That particular one needs some lube though.
[Garowe] The police in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire... ’s capital Ankara detained a senior ISIS terrorist and an al-Shabaab ...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord... terrorist in joint operations carried out in cooperation with the National Intelligence Organization (MIT), reports said Wednesday.
Police acted on a tipoff that a ISIS terrorist, who was one of the senior figures in the Iraqi city of djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... , had arrived in Ankara.
The terrorist, identified by the initials S.O., has actively been working for ISIS and had previously worked in the Iraqi military, the police said.
Was he one of those former Baathists who formed the military core of ISIS, or someone who came to it later?
He had also brought a 7-year-old Yazidi child with him as so-called "war booty."
Security forces carefully planned an operation to capture the terrorist without harming the child, Anadolu Agency (AA) reported, citing security sources.
The Yazidi child was placed in the custody of the local Family, Labor and Social Services Provincial Directorate following the operation, the report said.
Meanwhile, ...back at the pound, the little lost dog had finished eating the rat terrier... police also captured a dual German Italian national who had connections with the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab terrorist group in Kenya.
What interest does Al Shabaab have in Turkey, so far from its area of operation?
The terrorist, identified as A.B., was detained in the operation after Ankara's Chief Public Prosecutor's Office issued a detention warrant, AA reported.
The suspect was taken to the cop shoppe after routine medical checks.
Al-Shabaab, a terrorist group active in East Africa and Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... , has been responsible for the deaths of hundreds of people in terrorist attacks. The group also targets Ottoman Turkish firms and individuals in war-torn Somalia.
Sure, but that’s in Somalia, Turkey is not only far away, it’s not a place where someone from the Horn of Africa would easily blend into a crowd.
Ottoman Turkish security forces carry out countless anti-terror operations to capture snuffies on a daily basis and have been particularly targeting ISIS and the PKK, which pose a threat to the country’s national security.

SULAIMANI — Turkish warplanes hit targets in Qupi Sardaran near Warte sub-district and the Qandil Mountains on Wednesday (February 24).
A local resident told NRT that the bombs fell near a livestock pen. There were no immediate reports of causalities.
Turkey regularly carries out cross-border operations in northern Iraq and the Kurdistan Region, justifying its actions as necessary to combat the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), which has waged a decades-long insurgency for Kurdish rights in Turkey’s southeast and has its headquarters in Qandil.
At least twelve civilians were killed in Turkish airstrikes during Operation Claw-Eagle 1, which was launched in June.
