[DAWN] PAKISTAN is going downhill. This means nothing to the corrupt who rule it. They fight tooth and claw against any attempt to save Pakistain. There is one exception. He raised expectations to fever pitch. He is honest and sincere, but politically naive. He wasted opportunities. He could still become prime minister. Unfortunately, he might not deliver much. Nevertheless, his social contributions have been very significant and politically unmotivated.
There is a long list of challenges threatening the country. None of them are being seriously tackled. Atrocities show no sign of ending. They are certain to get worse with the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... hovering in the wings while the exit plans of the thieving elite are constantly updated. The roots of our national condition are carefully nourished. They sustain our ruling establishment.
Elected offices of public trust are generally considered God's beneficence for personal and family enrichment. Grateful beneficiaries offer nawafil, qurbani and sadaqaat instead of performing their bounden duties with due diligence. Unsurprisingly, Pakistain is the worst governed country in South Asia which is one of the poorest governed regions of the world. It is caught in a fatally corrupt institutional and political trap.
Few may starve in Pakistain. Those who do in faraway places like Thar or Balochistan ...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it... generally do so quietly and invisibly. Many thousands drown in floods and die in earthquakes without their devastated families creating too much fuss. Having voted for energy promises the people put up without fans in summer or heating in winter. They get agitated when they see their children suffer and die from a plethora of preventable causes. But they do not unduly disturb their uncaring leaders. They keep voting for them.

[Moonbattery] Traitors against Western Civilization reflexively side with its historic enemy, Islam. Those who are ignorant or assume their audience to be ignorant of history will often evoke the Crusades as a great sin against the peaceful Muslim world. Last week Obama appalled descent people when he attempted to justify the Islamic Stateâs atrocities by denouncing Christianity. Naturally he mentioned the Crusades, as Bill Clinton did right after 9/11 for the same malign purpose.

They seem to focus on the sack of Jerusalem, sort of ignoring that's how they, the Europeans, behaved at home to everyone else they dealt with. Missed in their selective history is the contemporary campaigns of the Mongols who didn't sack as much as level and kill everyone in any village, town, or city they took to. Then would go back a week or more later and catch anyone who hid in the first obliteration for the same treatment.

Imagine how much better the world would be if the French and British avoided the 100 years war and instead sent those troops across Muslim Spain and North Africa. They could have rolled by the conquesta fairly easily. They were some hard core fighting bastards during the 100 years war. Shakespeare could have written about King Henry V and his great speech at the battle of Tobruk.
Imagine if the Spanish, flush with gold from the new world avoided fighting the heretic protestants and instead hired them as troops. Avoided the 30 years war and rolled back Islam.

After their acts of mass and individual slaughter, and their broadcast around the world, we now see ISIS executing people by burning them alive. Who knows, perhaps these killers will think up even more inventive and disgusting crimes in the future.
The perpetrators seem to be keen to associate this "carnival" of savagery exclusively with Islam, although most religions have experience at one point or another in their history with bloody violence and internal strife, before accepting and valuing differences of opinion. There is no need to revisit all the religious wars and atrocities that have been committed throughout human history - not to mention the sectarian conflicts that have broken out between followers of the same religion. However, it was a brave man who first ate an oyster... the eyes of the world, thanks to the finest media and social networking outlets, are now firmly focused on Islam, while Moslems stand idly by, incapable of coming up with a new logic to confront those who are putting forward a false image of their religion in the name of their own exclusionary faith.

One of the pieces of evidence I offer to bolster my arguments from American Betrayal that "we" -- the US-led West -- lost the Cold War (World War II, also, but that argument requires more space than I wish to use here, or total immersion in the book) is the fact that our college campuses, private and taxpayer-funded, are outposts of Marx.
How can a nation claim victory in an epic "battle of ideas" -- classicial liberalism vs. Marxist ideology -- when its institutions of "higher learning," its incubators of leaders, continue to churn out a hardened "nomenklatura" whose allegiance is to the pillars of Marxism-Leninism: collectivism, moral relativism, globalism?

Most of the school runs on US investment, from US student loans to research grants. Maybe we should immediately stop all payments to the students for loans, grants, and scholarships. Then move to pull the federal grants from the school and finally remove its tax exempt status.

I don't get where Californians think like this and can rationalize their way to this. Its not just the Colleges. Remember back a year ago when the state decided to boycott Arizona because of our immigrant issues. They wanted to boycott all Arizona businesses. This was all grand and self gratifying until Jan Brewer, the AZ Gov, stood up and made a snark comment that she would be happy to shut off the AZ water and electricity going to CA and direct it elsewhere. Then their little reality crashed.
