[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least three people were maimed following a clash between the local residents of Shah Shahid in Police District#8 with the bodyguards of a politician.
According to police officials in PD#8 the incident took place due to a dispute over land which the local residents claim belongs to the government.
Gen. Hamidullah, police chief of Police District#8 said an individual was looking to construct a building in the land when the local residents interfered and prevented him to start work.
He said the bodyguards of the politician Sharif Kama started clash with the local residents leaving three people injured including a policeman.
According to Gen. Hamidullah the incident took place around 9:30 am local time and at least four security guards of Kama have been incarcerated Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! Gen. Hamidullah also added that an investigation has been launched regarding the dispute and the case has been referred to the relevant government institution.
According to reports nearly a quarter of a million hectares of land have been seized across the country over the last decade due to rampant corruption and weak regulation.
The Independent Joint Anti-Corruption Monitoring and Evaluation Committee following a report late in November last year said often powerful officials have been involved in land grabbing.
The report further added that less than 34 percent of Afghanistan's land has been surveyed and legally registered, leaving the rest vulnerable to land-grabs.

[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... leader Abubakar Shekau vowed in a new video released on Monday that the group would defeat a regional force fighting the turbans in Nigeria's far northeast, Niger and Cameroon ...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there... .
"Your alliance will not achieve anything. Amass all your weapons and face us. We welcome you," he said in a 28-minute speech, one of three videos posted by the Islamists on YouTube.
Troops from Nigeria have been backed by soldiers from Chad, Cameroon and Niger in recent weeks because of increased concerns about Boko Haram's threat to regional security.
In the second of the latest videos, images of the leader of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group, His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi ...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us... , are shown along with archive footage and a voiceover recalling a battle between British colonial soldiers and fighters from the Sokoto Caliphate in northern Nigeria.
Shekau has namechecked al-Baghdadi before but appears to be positioning Boko Haram in a wider jihadi context by showing the Sokoto Caliphate, which was dismantled by the British in the early 20th century.
"We never rose up to fight Africa. We rose up to fight the world," he said.
"We are going to fight the world on the principle that whoever doesn't obey Allah and the Prophet to either obey or die or become a slave."

I'm still waiting for the march in outrage over all the little girls who were raped in Rotherham. By anyone, let alone Muslims.
Guess you have to be a cool socialist rebels like Charlie Hebdo to get world leaders to make you their cause. Little girls from the working class? Not even.
If Nigel Farage had the sense he was born with he'd be making mass rapes by immigrants the key note of his campaign. He'd win in a walk.
Unfortunately, it looks like the PEGIDA movement has fizzled.
[AnNahar] The first protest in the Austrian city of Linz by Germany's "anti-Islamization" movement PEGIDA drew just 150 supporters Sunday and was dwarfed by a counter-demo by some 2,000 people, police said.
A planned PEGIDA march through the center of the northern city was abandoned after several hundred counter-demonstrators blocked their way, chanting "Auf Wiedersehen" ("Goodbye"), the Austria Press Agency reported.
During a standoff lasting around an hour a few snowballs were thrown there were no incidents of violence. "There were no arrests," a police front man told Agence La Belle France-Presse.
He also said that unlike at last Monday's PEGIDA march in Vienna, the first in Austria, police did not see any raised-arm Hitler salutes or "Sieg Heil" chants.
Unlike the other, no idiots choosing to give the movement a bad name.
PEGIDA (Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamization of the Occident) marches began in the German city of Dresden last year with several hundred supporters and snowballed to reach 25,000 people on January 12.
But numbers have fallen since the movement's founder stepped down on January 21 after a picture surfaced of him posing as Adolf Hitler ...late Fuehrer of Germany, founder of the Third Reich, currently communing with his pals Himmler and Heydrich. He is reincarnated every few days as a politician somebody doesn't like...
Possibly just being silly, but that's a red button in Germany.
Other senior figures have also since resigned.
Threatened with the real possibility of violence, they folded. The colonizers don't like it when their aboriginals start getting uppity.
Small offshoots of PEGIDA have sprung up in other German cities and marches have taken place in the Czech Republic, Denmark and Norway, involving however only a few hundred people.
Unlike in Germany, Austria has a strong far-right party in the Freedom Party (FPOe), the third-largest in parliament with around 20-percent support and which has long campaigned against immigration and "Islamization".
Except that, like the TEA party movement in America, it started out tied neither to right nor left.
"In Austria the FPOe has always been the real PEGIDA. We have always taken seriously the problems to do with Islamism," the party's leader Heinz-Christian Strache told NEWS magazine in a recent interview.
The US military on Monday began the court-martial of a Lebanese-born Marine who is accused of deserting the military in Iraq in 2004 before turning up in Lebanon claiming to have been kidnapped and then deserting again the following year.
Corporal Wassef Hassoun, 35, is being tried at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina on charges of desertion, destruction of government property and larceny, according to the Marine Corps. The former Arabic language interpreter was listed as a deserter for nearly a decade before being taken into custody last year.
The Marine Corps said Hassoun first deserted the military in June 2004, when he vanished from his base in Iraq. He reappeared a month later in Lebanon and claimed that he had been kidnapped by militants, the military said.
Military investigators accused him of taking unauthorized leave from his unit. But before the start of military legal proceedings against him, Hassoun failed to report for duty at Camp Lejeune in January 2005, fled the United States and again went to Lebanon, the Marines said.
Hassoun's trial is scheduled to last about two weeks. He could face up to 29 years in prison if found guilty on all counts, said Captain Stewart Coles, a base spokesman.

By Jove, I am not covetous for gold,
Nor care I who doth feed upon my cost;
It yearns me not if men my garments wear;
Such outward things dwell not in my desires:
But if it be a sin to covet honour,
I am the most offending soul alive.
No, faith, my coz, wish not a man from England:
God's peace! I would not lose so great an honour
As one man more, methinks, would share from me
For the best hope I have. O, do not wish one more!
Rather proclaim it, Westmoreland, through my host,
That he which hath no stomach to this fight,
Let him depart; his passport shall be made
And crowns for convoy put into his purse:
We would not die in that man's company
That fears his fellowship to die with us.

Had to go train the militants before he forgot what the Marines taught him. Then go back for more training so he could teach the militants the advanced course.
Probably knew in the PC addled political structure of America he'd get away with it too.
[DAWN] The international community is effectively combating snuffies engaged in atrocities like the December massacre of schoolchildren in Beautiful Downtown Peshawar ...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. [Breitbart] President Barack Obama has called the terror attack on Jews in a kosher supermarket in Paris last month an act of random violence, rather than a terror attack or an antisemitic attack. Obamaâs remark appears in an interview with Matt Yglesias of Vox.com. The president calls the attackers âviolent, vicious zealots who behead people or randomly shoot a bunch of folks in a deli in Paris.â He elides past the religion of the attackers or the victims in an attack that claimed four innocent lives.
Obama was responding to a sympathetic question by Yglesias about whether âthe media sometimes overstates the level of alarm people should have about terrorism and this kind of chaos, as opposed to a longer-term problem of climate change and epidemic disease.â While stating that Americans were right to be concerns, Obama agreed that the media had overstated the problem of terror because of a general tendency towards sensational reporting: âIf it bleeds, it leads, right?â The girl friend of an attacker was seen recently in an ISIS video. This Obama individual needs to get out of the Oval Office for all it represents to the free world.

“violent, vicious zealots who behead people or randomly shoot a bunch of folks in a Jewish deli in Paris.”
There, fixed it for him. Assuming he will one day leave office, could we order the permanent shunning of the mawkish word 'folks' from the common language ?

Measles outbreaks have been random too. [However usually traced to someone coming from outside or locals who travel to outside regions contract the disease and subsequently return and transmit the infection to the local population].
In April 2011, Pakistan first tested the Hatf-9 (Nasr) missile, which it called a âShort Range Surface to Surface Multi Tube Ballistic Missile.â In the official statement announcing the test, Pakistanâs military said the Hatf-9 missile was nuclear-capable and had been developed to be used at âshorter ranges.â
âNASR, with a range of 60 km, carries nuclear warheads of appropriate yield with high accuracy, shoot and scoot attributes. This quick response system addresses the need to deter evolving threats,â the statement said. It added that the âtest was a very important milestone in consolidating Pakistanâs strategic deterrence capability at all levels of the threat spectrum.â Absolutely no reason this wouldn't end well, right?

Someone is reading the marketing material.
The size of the payload should tell the OP how far to scoot from a 30 mile missile.

In providing a worldwide threat assessment to the House Armed Services Committee on Tuesday, Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Vincent R. Stewart, the director of the Defense Intelligence Agency, discussed Pakistan’s expanding nuclear delivery systems.
Nicely done General, but I thought monitoring nuclear and WMD proliferation was the chore of another agency. Could you pick up on the more pressing ISIS threat in Iraq, Syria, Afghanistan and elsewhere, as well as the Homeland 'Cyber threat' themes of your predecessor please? Yes, that would be LTG Flynn, who along with his deputy, were for some odd reason summarily ushered into retirement.

Good thing we are still sending hundreds of millions in aid to this shithole. If they have money more new nuke platforms they don't need aid. Am I wrong to hope they would accidently nuke themselves.

So have they've figured out how to deescalate after popping the first one? Cause the tendency then is to throw everything you got at the other guy before your capability to launch what you got is removed.
Or is this just another example of lower primate behavior (see I got a big one) that disengages the thinking process to see what happens when you do play with the stuff?

[DAWN] Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face... on Monday denied funding of what it called the Lion of Islam mindset through its financial support of religious seminaries in Pakistain.
"A section of the media has been propagating a false impression that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is funding the Lion of Islam mindset in Pakistain through its financial support for religious seminaries," a press statement issued by the Saudi embassy said.
"Whenever any seminary, mosque or charity organizations request the kingdom for financial assistance, the embassy refers the matter to the Government of Pakistain through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for examining suitability of the applicant," the statement added.
It went on to say that only "when the ministry of foreign affairs informs the embassy in writing that the financial assistance is in the interest of public welfare, the assistance is provided to the applicant ... The assistance has always been beyond any sectarian considerations".
The Saudi embassy's statement comes weeks after Federal Minister for Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) Riaz Hussain Pirzada accused the Saudi government of creating instability across the Moslem world by distributing money in order to promote religious extremism.
The minister had said that the time had come to stop the influx of Saudi money into Pakistain, which he claimed had a destabilising influence.
During Senate session on January 30, Minister of State for Interior Baligur Rehman had informed the House that Middle Eastern countries namely Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates... , Iran and the United Arab Emirates were giving aid to religious seminaries in three provinces.

[Ynet] A legal attempt by Iran's main oil tanker firm NITC to stop the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... from reimposing sanctions on it over its disputed nuclear program has failed in a London court, setting back Tehran's efforts to ease trade restrictions.
Iran is engaged in nuclear talks with world powers as it tries to strike a final deal to lift the sanctions that have halved its oil exports to just over 1 million barrels per day since 2012 and hammered its economy.
EU governments were due imminently to re-include NITC, a major carrier of Iran's oil, on a blacklist of people and entities targeted by the bloc's sanctions, High Court Judge Nicholas Green said on Monday.
The NITC case is part of an effort by the EU to mount a challenge against Iranian companies that have been winning court cases aimed at lifting sanctions against them.

[IraqiNews.com] Chief of Anbar Awakening Conference, Sheikh Ahmed Abu Risha said that the Anbar delegation, which he headed during its visit to Washington, had changed a lot in the United States' convictions, and made great achievements that are crucial for Iraq.
In a brief statement followed by IraqiNews.com, Abu Risha said that Washington has decided to increase its support for Iraq from $1.6 billion to $8.8 billion.
Is that a President Obama promise, or was a bill actually passed by both Houses of Congress and duly signed by the official presidential signing machine?
On January 30th, Sheikh Abu Risha stated that the former US President George Bush called him during the delegation's stay in Washington. Bush was briefed on the security situation and the most important developments on the ground.
[Ynet] Merchants in the West Bank will have two weeks to dispose of Israeli products, following which such goods will be barred from Paleostinian stores.
Because smuggling into the West Bank is such a difficult thing to do, given the numbers of West Bank Palestinians who still may work in Israel.
A commission that examined the issue and decided to bar Israeli goods, headed by Fatah Central Committee member Mahmoud Al-Aloul, said it would give Paleostinian merchants two weeks time to get rid of any products from these companies that they may still have in stock.
Al-Aloul said the boycott should be part of a long-term strategy and that barring the sale of the products of these companies was only a first and gradual step, with the final objective being boycotting all Israeli-made products.
Al-Aloul's commission also included bigwigs from the PLO and Fatah, and received support from the Paleostinian Journalists Syndicate, which regularly calls to avoid normalization with Israel.
Four years ago, in September 2011, PA President Abbas' advisor and Fatah official Sabri Saydam said the Paleostinians will use social media to impose a boycott on all Israeli products, and not just those that originate from beyond the Green Line.
In May 2010, Paleostinian inspectors raided 200 businesses in Ramallah, confronted the merchants and thoroughly checked the goods on sale to enforce the law against selling settlement products.

Looks like stick deodorant. So we can tell a Palestinian by the smell? Suicide bombers in the future will have a noxious odor...
That was after Hamas sought to overthrow the PA and murder its leadership. Sauce for the goose, etc., my dear Hamas spokesman.
[IsraelTimes] Islamist terror group's Salah Bardawil says technology used by apprehended collaborators in Gazoo resembles Israeli equipment
Paleostinian intelligence agencies loyal to PA President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas ... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial... advised Israel on nearly 30 percent of the targets in Gazoo that were attacked during Operation Protective Edge, a Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, official claimed on Thursday.
Hamas official Salah Bardawil told his movement's daily Al-Resalah that information provided by the General Intelligence Agency to Israel regarding Hamas and Islamic Jihad ...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah... sites in the Khaza'ah and central regions of the Gazoo Strip led to the death of hundreds of Paleostinians in Arclight airstrikes over the summer, including many women and kiddies.
"According to confessions of those involved with the General Intelligence Agency, the agency assisted the occupation [Israel] in creating some 29% of the target bank during the last war," Bardawil was quoted as saying.
He added that 82% of the targets reported to Israel were in fact hit by the IDF.
Hamas has long criticized the Paleostinian Authority and its security agencies for cooperating with Israel, but has never detailed the extent of cooperation and the damage caused to it as a result.
In the interview with Al-Resalah, he noted that the Israeli targets included Paleostinian institutions, mosques and homes of Hamas members.
"The technology used by these agents of the General Intelligence Agency to send information to the occupation is very advanced, and closely resembles the technology used by the occupation," Bardawil said. "This indicates the level of coordination between the two sides."
The Paleostinian Authority did not respond publicly to Hamas's accusations. Muhammad Al-Madani, a Fatah official responsible for coordination between the Paleostinian Authority presidency and Israeli society, declined to comment on the matter, telling The Times of Israel only that "the [PA] authorities have preferred not to answer this."
Hamas and Fatah agreed on the formation of unity government composed of technocrats last June, but deep political disagreements between the rival movements have marred its activity from the start. Israel exposed a Hamas plot last year to oust Abbas.
Hamas claimed that over 2,000 Gazooks were killed in the summer's conflict with Israel, and that most were civilians. Israel said about half were Hamas and other gunnies, and blamed Hamas for all civilian fatalities since it emplaced its rocket launchers and other elements of its war machine in residential areas.
[IsraelTimes] Weapons and explosives cache found in underground passage leading from Gazoo into Israel, IDF says
Nearly six months after wrapping up a 50-day war with Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,-led fighters in Gazoo to stymie rocket fire and destroy cross-border tunnels, Israeli forces demolished the remains of a subterranean passageway from the Strip jutting into Israel, the IDF said Monday.
The army said in a statement it found "a cache of weapons and explosives," in the tunnel, and noted that it did not enter Gazoo during work to destroy the passageway.
The army ended Operation Protective Edge in late August after saying it had destroyed all 31 cross-border tunnels dug for attacks against Israelis, but senior officers admitted at the time that "one or two" tunnels could have gone undetected.
Gazook fighters used the tunnels for several attacks against Israeli forces, sometimes penetrating deep into Israeli territory. In one attack on an IDF post near Kibbutz Nahal Oz during the summer operation, five soldiers were killed.
The tunnel destroyed recently had an opening near Nahal Oz and reached the Shejaiya neighborhood east of Gazoo City, according to Israeli news site Ynet.
The army said it was discovered during the summer operation, but did not explain why its destruction was delayed.
The army had full control over the tunnel between the war and now, according to Ynet.
The tunnel was "demolished in order to prevent its rehabilitation in order to safeguard the security of the civilians of southern Israel," the army statement said.
Unnamed security sources have said recently that Hamas is working to rebuild its tunnel infrastructure as well as rearm its depleted rocket arsenal.
In October, a Vanity Fair report confirmed rumors that before the summer's war, Hamas was planning to insert hundreds of gunnies into Israel via underground tunnels, to kidnap and kill a large number of Israelis.
More than 2,000 Paleostinians were killed during the summer war, according to UN figures, which said most of them were civilians. Israel said some 1,000 of the fatalities were Hamas operatives and other gunnies, and blamed Hamas for all civilian casualties, arguing that the group attacked Israel from within residential areas.
Hamas and other terror groups fired over 4,500 rockets and projectiles at Israel, and staged several deadly attacks against IDF soldiers through cross-border tunnels. Seventy-three people on the Israeli side, most of them soldiers, were killed during the operation.

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... has withdrawn some of its murderous Moslems and equipment from areas northeast of the Syrian city of Aleppo, rebels and residents said Monday, adding to signs of strain in the Syrian provinces of its self-declared caliphate.
The group, which has recently lost ground to Kurdish and Syrian government forces elsewhere in Syria, has pulled fighters and hardware from several villages in areas northeast of Aleppo, they said. But it has not fully withdrawn from area.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which tracks the war using a network of sources on the ground, said Islamic State had redeployed forces from Aleppo province to join battles further east with Kurdish forces and mainstream rebel groups.
Islamic State-held areas northeast of Aleppo mark the western edge of a domain that expanded rapidly in Syria and Iraq last year after the jihadists seized the Iraqi city of djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... .
