[Aljazeera] At least 11 Afghan police officers have been killed after Taliban fighters stormed a police base in northern Baghlan province, local government officials told Associated Press on Tuesday.
The fighters first overran a checkpoint near the base late on Monday, and were apparently able to breach the compound with ease because a sympathetic policeman opened a door for them.
A spokesman for the Taliban fighters, Zabiullah Mujahid, however, put the death toll at 17, adding that one officer was taken hostage. The group is known to exaggerate its claims.
Oooooohhhhh, how beautifully dry. Could the reporter have trained in British English?
The attack comes a day after Taliban claimed it shot down an American military plane in Ghazni province - a claim the US military denies.
Additionally, the headline of the January 28 issue of the Iranian regime mouthpiece Kayhan stated: " Taliban Downs American Military Plane, Dozens Of CIA Officers Went To Hell."
S-300V4 and S-400 have a 400km range.
More than enough to shoot from Iran to Ghazni

[THEBAGHDADPOST] Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... 's Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... elements made gains against government troops north and east of Sanaa on Monday, seizing a strategic road in deadly fighting, loyalist military officials told AFP.
The pro-government sources said the rebels had captured the route that connects Sanaa to the provinces of Marib, to the east, and Jawf to the north.
Dozens have been killed or maimed in the fighting around Sanaa in the past 48 hours, according to these military sources, but they were not able to give precise figures.
"The Houthis are now seeking to take Hazm, the capital of Jawf province," one official told AFP on condition of anonymity.

* 600 single men and 240 families had been living in the ramshackled shanty town at Porte d'Aubervilliers
* They were ferried out of the area in a fleet of coaches that took them to 17 so-called ‘reception centres'
* The mainly Afghan, Eritrean and Libyan residents of the camp were forced out, before bulldozers moved in to destroy makeshift huts and tents
French riot police today forced more than 1400 migrants out of an illegal camp in Paris which was then destroyed.
Some 600 single men and 240 families, including many hoping to get to Britain, had been living in the shanty town at Porte d’Aubervilliers.
The camp was on the city’s ring road and close to the Gare du Nord Eurostar hub where high speed trains travel to London, and others go to the Channel ports in northern France.

They’ll soon drift back, setting up the same camp in a different park. The police do this every few months. But actually send home more migrants than arrive, it will only get worse, with resulting mayhem for the lives of the native residents.

"O crapauds," so politely they say...
"Decamp, mes amis, s'il vous plais,
From your miserable Muslim Marais.
Fill our streets with your pomp
As we clean up your swamp --
Maybe take in a play or musée? --
And be back by the end of the day!"

[IsraelTimes] Rami Amoudi, Rajab Daka allegedly tasked with gathering intel on military installations, helping guide rocket-fire; both are Gazooks granted citizenship under family reunification.
The Shin Bet security service said Monday it foiled a Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", spy ring operating in central Israel, arresting two Israeli citizens earlier this month who allegedly provided the terror group with details about Israeli security facilities and other intelligence information.
According to the agency, the two men ‐ Rami Amoudi, 30, and Rajab Daka, 34 ‐ were recruited by the Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... -based terror group in October 2019 and tasked with filming security installations in central Israel, including "military bases, cop shoppes and Iron Dome battery placements."
The Shin Bet said Daka was also asked to provide the precise locations of where rockets launched from Gaza had landed during the recent bouts of fighting, apparently to help the terror group improve its accuracy.
"Hamas is continuing to cynically exploit the Erez Crossing between the Gaza Strip and Israel to promote terror in Israel," the Shin Bet said, referring to the pedestrian border crossing.
Both Amoudi and Daka are originally from the Gaza Strip, but were able to move to Israel as they have Israeli mothers.
Daka’s mother is an Arab-Israeli from the town of Lod, and Amoudi has a Jewish-Israeli mother, who helped him get the documentation necessary to move to Israel, the Shin Bet said.
A father of five, Daka received an Israeli passport in 2017 and has split his time since then between Israel and Gaza, where his children lived, the Shin Bet said. He is originally from Gaza City.
Amoudi came to live with his mother in Israel in November 2019, according to the security service. He is originally from Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip, but now lives in Tel Aviv.
The two men were arrested on January 2 and were charged in a Central District Court on Monday.
The Shin Bet said "it takes a serious view of Israeli citizens who exploit their access to the Gaza Strip to promote terror activities."
During the investigation the security service also uncovered Hamas members engaged in espionage activities, among them a 32-year-old resident of Beit Lahia in the Gaza Strip, who was Daka’s controller, the organization said.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) recent advance in eastern Idlib has put their forces within striking distance of the strategic city of Saraqib for the first time in years.
According to a field source in the Idlib Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army’s 25th Special Mission Forces Division is now within 13km of Saraqib after capturing several towns east of Ma’arat al-Nu’man in eastern Idlib.
Saraqib, which is located in northeastern Idlib, has long been a key point along the Aleppo-Idlib Highway (M-5), as it has served as a supply hub for the jihadist and Ottoman Turkish-backed rebel forces.
This latest offensive by the Syrian Arab Army has concentrated on the eastern countryside of the Idlib Governorate because this region of the country has threatened the government’s primary supply route to Aleppo.
As long as eastern Idlib remains in the hands of the jihadist forces, the Khanasser Highway, which has been under the government’s control since late 2013, will always face threats from Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else ...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State... and their allies.
