Anni Kuan designed the pants that the First Lady wore at the funeral. She said she understands how people would think they're jeans. "It's a very respectful suit you would wear to an important gathering," she said. McCray's pants brought criticism from people who thought it was tasteless to wear jeans at the funeral. Looked like jeans to me. I can remember when ladies used to wear dresses to funerals.

Funerals are not a good place to be making any kind of fashion statement.
Picking up where Bloomberg left off...
New Yorkers’ beloved foam takeout and delivery food containers will soon be products of a bygone era.
Mayor de Blasio — finishing off an initiative begun by his predecessor — will announce a ban on the environmentally unfriendly material Thursday, according to The New York Times.
The ban will start July 1 and cover foam packing peanuts as well as plastic foam cups and takeout containers.
City Hall declined to comment when contacted by the Daily News. But a former official for Mayor Bloomberg gave the administration a big pat on the back.

How'd that big soda cup ban work out, Blumenthal Blasio?

How is such a topic within the purview of a Mayor?
Seems like the executive of the US' largest city would not have to time to come up with crack-pot directives like this.
What does this guy spend his time doing, anyways?

And duh mayor is probably cranking up the SDM stupid directives machine.

Bloomberg Heavy (vs Light). The heavy hand of the 'Inner Party' on things they can appear to actually issue fiats and get results as opposed to doing the difficult and messy stuff which they have demonstratively failed.
Speaker of the House John Boehner defended his conservative bona fides Thursday, arguing during a press conference that it pains him to be described as a squish by members of his own party.
His comments, directed at the conservative wing of the GOP, come days after 25 members of his own party, many of whom argue he is not sufficiently conservative, voted against him for speaker. Boehner still won re-election.
"During my years here when I voted, I had the eighth most conservative voting record in the Congress," Boehner said Thursday, rebutting the conservative criticism. "And it does pain me to be described as spineless or a squish."

Observing that Obama can lie and get away with it due to the air cover provided by a liberal press, Boehner has decided to give it a try.
He has forgotten that the press will destroy lives to get leftists elected, and will turn on him in a way that they never would on Obama. The knife in the back is coming no matter what he does.

Anti-Establishment=Anti-Constitution
The Beltway Party runs on power and corruption (re: Inner Party).
He is still very much an establishment creature. The fact he may promote it the least of all the other speakers speaks volumes about the corruption in Washington.

It is obvious that the Repub leadership is immune to appeals to reason so what is the next step, folks? We are bankrupt, government is still spending like Jack the Pig, and needs a purge and enema. We are running out of options here before we self destruct.

Alaska Paul, here is a third branch of government that 99% of Americans do not know how to use to deal with situations like this. The Judicial Branch. Attorneys are not the exclusive party to that branch if Americans would get up to speed on the process and bring the courts into the fray.

In other words, the founders were wise enough to give the people the judicial mechanism, we need to wise up and learn how to use it to its full potential.
A multi-volume chronology and reference guide set detailing three years of the Mexican Drug War between 2010 and 2012.
Rantburg.com and borderlandbeat.com correspondent and author Chris Covert presents his first non-fiction work detailing
the drug and gang related violence in Mexico.
Chris gives us Mexican press dispatches of drug and gang war violence
over three years, presented in a multi volume set intended to chronicle the death, violence and mayhem which has
dominated Mexico for six years.
Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No
trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
