CUNY Law Dean applauds student's 'hate speech' against Israel, NYPD, and military
[NYPOST] CUNY Law School’s dean came under fire Tuesday when video emerged of her clapping at a graduate’s incendiary May 12 commencement address that the public university’s trustees belatedly labeled "hate speech."

"Everyone was applauding on the stage. The dean applauded," Jeffey Lax, a professor who is co-founder of the pro-Jewish Students and Faculty for Equality at CUNY, said of Dean Sudha Setty and others.

It took more than two weeks for brass hats at the City University of New York Law School to denounce the commencement speech of 2023 graduate Fatima Mousa Mohammed.

In her address, Mohammed called the NYPD "fascist
...anybody you disagree with, damn them...
" and accused Israel of indiscriminately murdering Paleostinians.

Outraged critics — who have called for stripping the public institution of its billions of dollars in annual taxpayer funding — complained that this was the second year in a row that CUNY Law’s student speaker has bashed Israel.

Last year, student speaker Nordeen Kiswani used her commencement speech to complain about a "campaign of Zionist harassment by well-funded organizations with ties to the Israeli government and military on the basis of my Paleostinian identity and organizing, while the law school’s faculty council passed a resolution supporting the pro-Paleostinian boycott, sanctions and divestment movement against Israel in support of the students.

#2  Sudha Setty joined the City University of New York School of Law as dean and professor of law on July 1, 2022. Previously, she served as dean of Western New England University School of Law, where she focused on enhancing social justice lawyering and increasing institutional commitments to racial justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion. She led the creation of its Center for Social Justice in 2019 and led the faculty in adopting a graduation requirement for racial justice coursework, adopted in April 2021.

Ticked all the boxes, that's for sure.

Pro-Israel stage protester says Roger Waters’ guards threatened to break his neck
The Jew-hate tour continues after the previous report from Berlin.
[IsraelTimes] Marcel L., who rushed stage with Israeli flag at Frankfurt show, alleges violence by security; singer says act was ’unnerving,’ as German police probe him for antisemitism

A pro-Israel protester who rushed the stage with an Israeli flag during a Roger Waters concert in Frankfurt on Sunday told Israeli media Monday about the aftermath of his act, including that security guards had threatened to break his neck.

Footage posted online showed the young man managing to reach the upper deck while running from security, while groups of protesters dispersed in the crowd were also waving large Israeli flags and singing "Am Yisrael Chai" (The people of Israel live), in what appeared to be a coordinated response to the former Pink Floyd frontman’s latest antisemitic controversy on his current tour.

On Monday night, Israel’s Channel 12 news reported that the man who got onto the stage was a pro-Israel Christian who heads the German-Israeli Society organization’s youth forum in Frankfurt, naming him only as Marcel L.

The network interviewed him about what happened after the on-stage protest against Waters.

"His security arrived quickly and violent mostly peacefully took me down to the basement. They threatened to break my neck if I didn’t give them my mobile phone," said Marcel.

"I also didn’t want to let go of the Israeli flag, so the guard told me he would break my arm if I didn’t give him the flag," he added.

Waters himself reacted to the protest during the show, saying it had put him off and had been "quite unnerving" for him.

The former frontman, who has sparked a number of controversies with allegedly antisemitic actions and comments in recent years, is under a new criminal investigation for incitement by German police, after he appeared to dress as a Nazi during a concert in Berlin earlier this month. He also projected Anne Frank’s name at recent concerts in Berlin and Munich to draw comparisons between Israel and Nazi Germany.

Images on social media of Waters wearing a long, black coat with red armbands on stage and waving a mock weapon at the Mercedes-Benz arena in Berlin last week sparked an uproar, leading police to probe Waters for incitement to hatred, and Germany’s official in charge of fighting antisemitism calling for Waters to be held accountable. Wearing or displaying symbols evoking the Nazi era are crimes in Germany.

The Frankfurt show — which local authorities had unsuccessfully tried to prevent from taking place — was held at Festhalle, where in November 1938 more than 3,000 Jews were rounded up by the Nazis, beaten, and later forced into concentration camps.

Jewish organizations together with politicians and an alliance of civil society groups gathered before the gig began for a memorial ceremony and a protest rally against Waters outside the venue, handing out flyers to concertgoers. Protesters read out loud the names of 600 Jews who were rounded up at the Festhalle on November 9, 1939, the so-called Kristallnacht — the "Night of Broken Glass" — when Nazis terrorized Jews throughout Germany and Austria. The organizers also held a joint Jewish-Christian prayer for the victims of the Nazi terror in Frankfurt.

During the show, Waters admitted onstage that the uniform he commonly wears during concerts is meant to be a "sort of Nazi demagogue," which he contends is aimed at criticizing such regimes.

In comments from the show posted on his Twitter page, Waters said he has worn the garb on many occasions over the decades but that he was skipping that part in Frankfurt in order to avoid "desecrating" the venue and to show he was aware of its history, confirming that he had also been aware of the earlier protest.

Waters has dismissed the criticism and the controversy as politically motivated. Waters is a well-known pro-Paleostinian activist who has been accused of holding anti-Jewish views. He has floated an inflatable pig emblazoned with the Star of David at his concerts.

At the Berlin concert this month, Waters also flashed the names of several deceased people on a large screen, including that of Anne Frank, the Jewish teenager who died in a Nazi concentration camp, and Paleostinian Al Jazeera journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, who was killed on an assignment in the West Bank last year. The Israeli army has acknowledged that the bullet that killed her was "in very high likelihood" shot from an IDF gun, it has firmly rejected allegations that the veteran journalist was deliberately targeted.

Waters’ on-screen projections — which argued that Abu Akleh was killed for "being Paleostinian" — drew ire and condemnation that Waters was relativizing the Holocaust.

The former frontman has played in several German cities in recent weeks as part of his "This Is Not A Drill" tour. But it has been hugely controversial with some city officials even trying, unsuccessfully, to ban him from performing.

The "Another Brick In The Wall" singer denies the antisemitism accusations, saying he protests against Israeli policies and not the Jewish people.

Last year, the Polish city of Krakow canceled gigs by Waters because of his sympathetic stance toward Russia in its war against Ukraine.

Iran releases Belgian aid worker in exchange for diplomat convicted of bomb plot
26 May
[IsraelTimes] Move is mediated by Oman, with Olivier Vandecasteele transferred to Muscat; Iran’s Assadollah Assadi had been convicted in scheme targeting Iranian exiles

Belgium and Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
conducted a prisoner exchange Friday in Oman, with officials saying Tehran released a Belgian aid worker in exchange for an Iranian diplomat convicted of attempting to bomb a meeting of exiles in La Belle France.

The initial announcement by Oman’s foreign ministry did not identify the prisoners being swapped.

However,
those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things...
Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo said in a statement that the aid worker, Olivier Vandecasteele, had been freed. Iranian state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
later said, in an on-screen graphic, that the diplomat would be freed.

"Informed sources report the release of Assadollah Assadi, an Iranian diplomat detained in Belgium," Iranian state TV said. "Further details will be announced."

Oman’s foreign ministry said that "those released were transferred from Tehran and Brussels to Muscat today, Friday, in preparation for their return to their countries." It added that "the sultanate of Oman appreciated the high positive spirit that prevailed in the talks in Muscat between the Iranian and Belgian sides, and their keenness to settle this humanitarian issue."

De Croo said Vandecasteele was transferred to Oman on Thursday night. He was received by a team of Belgian diplomats and military officials, then was assessed by doctors.

"Olivier spent 455 days in prison in Tehran. In unbearable conditions. Innocent," De Croo wrote. "Olivier Vandecasteele’s return to Belgium is a relief. A relief for his family, friends and colleagues."

Oman has long served as an interlocutor for the West with Iran.

In January, Iran sentenced Vandecasteele to a lengthy prison term and 74 lashes after convicting him of espionage in a closed-door trial. He also was fined $1 million.

In 2021, Belgium convicted an Iranian diplomat, Assadollah Assadi, of criminal masterminding a thwarted kaboom against an exiled Iranian opposition group in La Belle France and sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Iran has detained a number of foreigners and dual nationals over the years, accusing them of espionage or other state security offenses and sentencing them following secretive trials in which rights groups say they have been denied due process.

Critics have repeatedly accused Iran of using such prisoners as bargaining chips with the West.

Iran, facing Western sanctions over its rapidly advancing nuclear program, has faced protests in recent months and economic strain. Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq was already scheduled to visit Tehran this weekend before the announced prisoner swap.

Delhi High Court issues notice to Yasin Malik in NIA's death penalty plea
[The Nation (Pak)] The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to Chairman Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
Liberation Front, Muhammad Yasin Malik
...chairman of one of the two factions of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front. JKLF is a Kashmiri nationalist organization founded in Birmingham, UK in 1977. Branches weren't actually established in Kashmir for another ten years. It has the usual demands for separation of J&K from secular India so it can become an independent Islamic rathole. It seems to have no interest in Pak Kashmir breaking away to join it. In 1994 Malik renounced violence after he was released from jail and from that point he and his organization pursued peaceful means to impose their will on the region...
, on the application of the notorious National Investigation Agency demanding that his life sentence be converted into a death penalty
.

The court has sought the appearance of Muhammad Yasin Malik on 9th August this year. The JKLF chairman is already facing a life sentence in New Delhi’s infamous Tihar jail.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch clutched at his shoulder. Ow! he exclaimed, with feeling......
pro-freedom leaders and organizations in their statements in Srinagar have cautioned that the Hindutva-inspired Bharatiya Janata Party regime is conspiring to hang Muhammad Yasin Malik to regain the losing popularity in elections next year.

Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party and APHC leaders Khadim Hussain and Syed Sibte Shabbir Qummi said the National Investigation Agency filed the plea in the Delhi High Court for conversion of life sentence into death penalty for Yasin Malik at the behest of the Modi-led Indian regime.

Abbas signs decree criminalizing ‘Nakba’ denial
[IsraelTimes] PA executive order says anyone found guilty of denying what it calls ’crime against humanity’ carried out by ’Zionist gangs’ in 1948 faces up to 2 years in jail

Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....
has signed a presidential decree that criminalizes denying the Paleostinian "Nakba" surrounding Israel’s establishment in 1948.

The decree states that anyone found guilty of denying the "catastrophe" inflicted upon Paleostinians by Zionist forces in 1948 will face up to two years in jail. It defines the "Nakba" as "a crime against humanity" carried out by the "Zionist gangs," Israel’s Channel 12 reported.

The decree appeared to be an extension of a more hardline approach Abbas has taken in recent years as he grapples with the apparent failure of his effort to secure a sovereign Paleostinian state alongside Israel on the pre-1967 lines through largely diplomatic means.

At a speech this month before the UN General Assembly during its first-ever event marking Nakba Day, Abbas donned a key pin on his lapel symbolizing the Paleostinian desire to return to the homes they lost during the 1948 Independence War. Abbas, who previously spoke about his recognition that he would not be able to return to his birth town of Safed, told the UN that he desired to do just that.

Similar hard-lining trends appear to be taking place in Israel, where coalition politicians have proposed legislation that would outlaw waving Paleostinian flags. Right-wing politicians have long rejected the Paleostinian narrative of a Nakba, with some warning Paleostinians that they will inflict another Nakba upon them if they continue waving Paleostinian flags.

#1  Nakba is a term first associated with Constantine Zarayk, history professor, American University of Beirut, who used the term shortly following the Arab defeat of 1948 in his book Maana el Nakbet (Lesson of the Disaster). Many thought the term ephemeral. It was not.

Gaza preschoolers stage mock liberation of ‘Palestinian land’
[IsraelTimes] Children armed with prop guns and dressed in military garb trample over Israeli flag and perform military exercises at ceremony, as parents clap.

Children at a Gazook preschool recently performed a mock liberation of Paleostine at their graduation ceremony, footage showed.

The preschoolers, dressed up in army uniforms and armed with prop guns, performed military-style drills and trampled the Israeli flag, during the event at the Young Deer Kindergarten in Beit Hanoun.

They waved Paleostinian flags in celebration, after a fake newscaster announced that a "properly executed surprise attack" resulted in the liberation of "all the Paleostinian land" and the "surrender of the last Israeli soldier."

Parents at the event watched the kids and clapped along to the music.

The videos were posted on the preschool’s Facebook page on May 24-27. They were translated and compiled by The Middle East Media Research Institute. The group has reported on similar ceremonies at Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
kindergartens in the past.

The preschoolers also commemorated the establishment of the Paleostinian Liberation Organization by Yasser Arafat and stomped to lyrics bashing former-US president Donald Trump
...His ancestors didn't own any slaves...
’s peace plan — the so-called "Deal of the Century."

"We will send this deal and whoever [signs] it to the garbage dump. We are trampling it underfoot," a man sings. "If words don’t help, we shall erase it with machine guns."

The Trump plan, unveiled in 2020 and never advanced, envisioned the creation of a Paleostinian state in about 70 percent of the West Bank, a small handful of neighborhoods in East Jerusalem, most of the Gaza Strip, and some areas of southern Israel — if the Paleostinians recognized Israel as a Jewish state, disarmed Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, and other terror groups in the Gaza Strip, and fulfilled other conditions.

The plan also envisioned Israel annexing settlements, granting the Jewish state illusory sovereignty over the Jordan Valley and overriding security control west of the Jordan River, and barring Paleostinian refugees from settling in Israel.

The graduation ceremony came after Israel earlier in the month launched Operation Shield and Arrow, a five-day campaign against the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
terror group in the Strip.

The fighting began after the death in Israeli custody of a hunger-striking alleged Islamic Jihad terrorist a week earlier, after which the terror group fired over 100 projectiles at Israel.

Israeli air strikes killed six top members of the Islamic Jihad terror group, and more than a dozen other alleged terror group members, among 33 Gaza fatalities.

PIJ fired over 1,600 projectiles at Israel, and Israel said that at least four of the Gaza civilian fatalities were likely killed by failed rockets. Two people were killed in Israel — an elderly Israeli woman in her home in Rehovot and a Gazook worker.
