#2 To me, going on a real hunger strike is just a slow motion way of committing suicide. You are hoping that the imprisoning authority will yield to pressure and give you what you want.

Sometimes, it works, like it seems to have in this case.

I don't count Cindy Sheehan's "hunger strike", where she survived on smoothies and Jamba juice.
