#1 Can't see the problem myself.

At least shareholders will see the gain from investing and owning a part of a quality company.

What the state did to justify it's claimed share I have no idea?!

#2 Well, that's one way to insure that the entire operation moves off-shore. Ireland has much lower taxes so the incentive to move there for real will be much greater.

#3 What the state did to justify it's claimed share I have no idea?!

I think the arguement is something like: Public schools and universities to educate the workforce, public utilities and infrastructure to facilitate the movement of people and materials, the maintenance of a civil society where a business could operate freely, the rule of law to keep the barbaric hordes from burning the place down, and a variety of "social contracts" that business have with society to coexist and be of benefit to one another.

#5 You asked what the State's claim was.
I didn't say it was legitimate.

#6 "What the state did to justify it's claimed share I have no idea?!"

Simple, BP - at least as far as the clowns in power right now are concerned: "We want it." >:-(

#7 The question is: Why should money that stays IN the company be taxed at all?

Gains should only be taxed when taken OUT.

#9 I rather think (as a capitalist) that companies should be charged for the things governments do actually do.
So.

Patents
Copyrights
Land Entitlements
Extraction Rights.

Not on Sales.
Not on Profits
Not on Employing people.
Not on Working for Someone.
Not on Saving
Not on Investing.

Might even be able to solve the budget problems and erase unemployment if you did the above.

Of course, the politically connected would lose billions and the middle classes (and any one employed by them) would gain massively, so it wont happen.
