#1 Toga West was appointed by Ford, served as counsel to DoD under Carter during the Iranian hostage crisis, and held various positions in Clinton's administration. Good tranzi pedigree with a thorough working knowledge of the military and Pentagon. If they want to cover up an 'oops', its too late. Brian Ross has good sources and is already on this one:
United States Army Major Nidal Hasan told a radical cleric considered by authorities to be an al-Qaeda recruiter, "I can't wait to join you" in the afterlife, according to an American official with top secret access to 18 e-mails exchanged between Hasan and the cleric, Anwar al Awlaki, over a six month period between Dec. 2008 and June 2009. Hasan apparently gave $30,000 a month to Islamic charities associated with terrorism.

So that's where his salary went. Thank you, Lumpy Elmoluck5091

#4 And if ANYONE thinks these donations and money transfers went unnoticed by the US Government they are absolutely delusional!

Once again, a detailed Hasan timeline please. Along with declassified US Government, FBI, or whomever surveillance reports if you will.

#9 Excuse Theory of "Self-Radicalization": I think I'll use that term for myself the next my wife and I have a "disagreement".

#10 $20-30K/year.

Maybe back in my old days, but a quick google will show base pay in '09 for an 04 over 6 to be be around $5330 a month. Toss in housing, subsistence, and medical pro pay, he was hauling in well over 60K a year. Annual Incentive Special Pay (Medical Officers)- Psychiatry - 20,000.00 . Monthly Variable Special Pay (Medical Officers) 6 but less than 8 years - 1,000. Now at retired [but subject to recall] half pay, yes about 30K a year.

#11 It's 30K$/MO, not 30K$/yr. Thats 360K$/yr, real money, even for flag officers.

#12 No, he only did this for 6 months ... which might well have been dispersing money he saved for years, given how he lived.

#13 180K$ after tax is still a lot of paychecks. Could be his life savings, but it's still a lot of green.

#14 Agreed. But he lived in an apartment described as about the standard for PFCs in the area. He had no outside hobbies, no family and no school loans to repay. You can save a lot over several years that way.
