The late pundit Robert Novak used to say that government officials can choose to be either “a source or a target.” In other words, leak information to reporters and you can count on flattering coverage and protection from them. An added bonus to leaking, as former Intelligence Director Jim Clapper discovered, is that the network to which you are leaking will turn you into a paid contributor. According to Congressman Jim Jordan, speaking to Fox News, “Clapper was actually the guy leaking information” to CNN about the presidential briefing on the Steele dossier that served as the pretext for the media feeding frenzy over possible Russian blackmail of Trump.
One can only laugh at the utter fraudulence of CNN: it pads its panels with government officials who leak to it, then presents them to its audience as “nonpartisan” experts commenting on the aftershocks of the very stories they leaked.
Trump’s intuition about a politicized intelligence community is confirmed daily by the rantings of its former members who treat the studios of television news like a retirement center. Eager to get in on this act, NBC recently hired former CIA director John Brennan, who also ingratiated himself to reporters through leaks. On his Twitter account, he describes himself as “nonpartisan” and NBC supports that con by letting him comment on the investigation his partisan manipulation of intelligence instigated.
Almost all of the principals responsible for the Russian farce are confirmed liars and leakers. They said Trump Tower wasn’t the target of spying. It was. They said a FISA warrant wasn’t issued. It was. They said Trump officials weren’t unmasked. They were. They said (as even the New York Times’s Maggie Haberman acknowledged) Hillary didn’t finance the Steele dossier. She did.

I pulled off a decent grilled 'boiled dinner' a few years ago - re-brined the corned beef overnight, cut it into 1 1/2' chunks, in went the cut cabbage, carrots, potatoes & ten cloves of garlic into a roasting pan, threw in about 4 cups of chicken / vegetable broth into a roasting pan, covered it w/ plastic and foil, 350 degrees for 50 minutes.

[Orange County Register] Los Alamitos might try to opt out of California’s new sanctuary law.
The City Council in Orange County’s second-smallest city is scheduled to vote Monday, March 19 on an ordinance that calls for exempting itself from the California Values Act, SB54, a new law that limits cooperation between law enforcement and immigration authorities.
The state law, which took effect Jan. 1, "may be in direct conflict with federal laws and the Constitution of the United States," reads the proposed local law.
Stating that council members have taken an oath to defend the U.S. Constitution, the ordinance says the council "finds that it is impossible to honor our oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States" and at the same time be in compliance with the new state law.
The proposed ordinance might be the first local attempt in California to officially challenge the law, said Kathleen Kim, a Loyola Marymount University law professor who specializes in immigrants’ rights and human trafficking.
The proposed ordinance contains "flawed argument," Kim said Friday, March 16. The new state law is "absolutely consistent with the U.S. Constitution," she said.
Annie Lai, co-director of the Immigrant Rights Clinic at UC Irvine, said Los Alamitos is inviting a lawsuit if the ordinance is adopted.
"It looks like they’re setting themselves up for litigation," she said.

[KC Star] LONDON - Russia's ambassador to the European Union has suggested a nerve agent that poisoned a former spy in England could have come from a British lab.
Vladimir Chizhov says Russia has no chemical weapons stockpiles and was not behind the poisoning of Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia.
In comments broadcast Sunday, Chizhov told the BBC that the U.K. chemical weapons research facility, Porton Down, is only eight miles (12 kilometers) from Salisbury, where the Skripals were found earlier this month.
Asked whether he was saying Porton Down was responsible, he replied: "I don't know."
The British government says Chizhov's suggestion is "nonsense."
Meanwhile, Russia's ambassador in London, Alexander Yakovenko, called for "cooler heads." He told the Mail on Sunday that the dispute is "escalating dangerously and out of proportion."

A very interesting thing just took place, all within a couple of minutes. The title of this story as I have listed has just been changed "updated" to the following:
"Britain, Russia trade blame over poisoning of former spy"
#3
Actually, considering all the possibilities, the Brits don't have to have that particular nerve agent - all they have to do is lie about which agent was used. Of course, the idea of Her Majesty's government lying is hard to swallow.
#8
You're really out on a limb with that #3, suggesting that a newly developed Russian neurotoxin extracted from the Vodka plant is NOT the agent responsible.

An episode of CSI that involves the Seth Rich murder would be the worst episode ever. Murder happens, police declare it is a botched robbery. No one is interviewed. Surveillance footage not asked for, bartender not interviewed. The End.

I saw an officer take a .38 round in the vest during a shooting. He acted as if the round penetrated and started digging at his skin under the vest. Apparently the vest stops penetration but the vest punches a couple of inches into the skin while slowing the round. The officer said it hurt like hell but glad round didn't penetrate. I would NOT want to take an AK round while wearing a vest...it would have to knock you on your azz.
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) - Facebook Inc faced new calls for regulation from within U.S. Congress and was hit with questions about personal data safeguards on Saturday after reports a political consultant gained inappropriate access to 50 million users’ data starting in 2014.
Facebook disclosed the issue in a blog post on Friday, hours before media reports that conservative-leaning Cambridge Analytica, a data company known for its work on Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign, was given access to the data and may not have deleted it. WTF? We may have helped the Trump campaign ?
The scrutiny presented a new threat to Facebook’s reputation, which was already under attack over Russians’ alleged use of Facebook tools to sway American voters before and after the 2016 U.S. elections.
"It’s clear these platforms can’t police themselves," Democratic U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar tweeted.
"They say ’trust us.’ Mark Zuckerberg needs to testify before Senate Judiciary," she added, referring to Facebook’s CEO and a committee she sits on.
Facebook said the root of the problem was that researchers and Cambridge Analytica lied to it and abused its policies, but critics on Saturday threw blame at Facebook as well, demanding answers on behalf of users and calling for new regulation.

Zuck was the only person Hillary had not blamed for her loss.
Y’all don’t think Facebook was not feeding information to her campaign, as well as altering algorithms to aid Democrats while hindering Republicans and conservatives? Of those of you who are on Facebook, who has not had problems over the past few years posting comments and links supportive of the right side of things? Because I have, and I work hard to be balanced and using confirmed sources.
The only reason this has come out is because it was a Trump-supporting company that got hold of information that was supposed to be restricted to left side of things.
[Right Scoop] I know, I know, "both" right? But this isn’t a broad question applicable to all their past statements and dealings with investigators and congress. If it were that sort of lie tabulation could take the rest of the night.
No, it’s about a very specific instance, where they each made a statement on the same topic, and those statements appear to be in disagreement. Specifically, this is a contradiction about who was doing what leaking, when, and under whose authority. One that, in the words of streiff at Redstate, "pits Mentor (that would be St. James of Comey) against Protege (Lying Andrew McCabe)."
This was first noticed and pointed out on Twitter by Judicial Watch’s Jerry Dunleavy, and it’s a really great question. Here’s the tweet:
[WAPO] A University of Pennsylvania law school professor will no longer teach required courses following outcry over a video in which she suggested ‐ falsely, according to the school ‐ that black students seldom graduated high in their class.
Amy Wax, a tenured professor, will continue to teach electives in her areas of expertise but will be removed from teaching first-year curriculum courses, Penn Law Dean Theodore Ruger said in a statement Wednesday.
Ruger said Wax spoke "disparagingly and inaccurately" when she claimed last year that she had "rarely, rarely" seen a black student finish in the top half of their class.

[LI] California isn’t just at war with Donald Trump. It is conducting a culture war against several red states in the form of Assembly Bill 1887.
The measure prohibits state-funded and state-sponsored travel to Alabama and several other red states Thursday due to laws that could discriminate against the LGBTQ community (e.g., prohibiting adoptions).
Now, a group of California’s real "best and brightest" are collateral damage in the Golden State culture war.
The Citrus College Rocket Owls were one of 60 school teams invited to Huntsville to compete in NASA Student Launch Program in April. Groups from 23 states are competing in the 18th annual event in which teams design, build, test and fly a high-altitude reusable rocket.
Despite their invite, Citrus College, a community college located outside Los Angeles, won’t be attending. Last year, California announced it was banning publicly funded travel to Alabama and seven other states due to laws that could discriminate against the LGBTQ community. In Alabama’s case, it was a law that allows adoption agencies to follow faith-based policies, which includes not placing children with same-sex couples.
Homer Hickam, the famous Huntsville author and rocket scientist, whose October Sky is an inspiration to many young students, challenges the assertion that this is a state funded trip. Additionally, reports indicate college administrators are re-interpreting the rules to prevent the team from heading to Alabama. Going out on a limb here, but I doubt anyone in Alabama gives a hoot if the Rocket Owls show up or not.

Another competitor is the Southern Redneck version of our California Owls, and we find that even tho dey steel goz muddin n sheet, they are brilliant yet misunderstood. One finds out xe is gay because the Owls' culture allows more freedom of expression.
Don't forget the all black team who stands out as the pure academics. They don't play basketball or football, don't jive or listen to loud music, don't dance....until the end party when they decide to cut loose and wow do they stomp the yard.

Of course, the team with the muslima whose philosophical views on space travel earn her high praise 'in her home country' and scorn from fundamental Christians. Her brother develops a clock which auto-terminates the rocket if there is a malfunction....and there is, and the team's rocket, led by the Jewish kid, goes out of control and hurdles towards and emotional impact scene such as a kindergarten. Rocket terminates just in time.

[Townhall] There was collusion in the election of 2016. It involved Russians, a British ex-spy, law firms, FBI agents, DOJ attorneys, an FBI director that prejudged evidence, an Attorney General that had an unethical meeting with the spouse of a target, FISA warrants obtained on faulty information that stemmed from political sources, a Deputy Director whose wife received monetary support in an election, an FBI director who lied to Congress, an FBI Deputy Director who lied to the Justice Department’s Inspector General, loads of classified materials that were mishandled and criminally passed to those without clearances, and partisan hacks spearheading inquiries aiming for political outcomes. The scope of this collusion is overwhelming, the attempts are a damning indictment of political operatives that have lost all integrity, and sadly an administration, a major political party, and agents of a deep state that attempted in a wide sweeping number of ways to undo an election that they lost.
Former high-ranking FBI officials (like Chris Swetzer who appeared with Harris Faulkner’s FoxNews broadcast on Friday) believe that the Inspector General’s coming report will be explosive.
For the sake of justice, above all else, I hope it brings clarity to a story our modern media landscape is highly invested in keeping as convoluted as possible.

If what is stated in the first paragraph ever breaks loose there will be a collusion bloodbath. That is why all those involved are so desperate to deep six this by pointing their fingers at Trump and Russia.

"And they can judge for themselves who is honorable and who is not," Comey added.
Comey was responding to Trump’s charge that the ex-FBI chief was aware of illicit activity at the FBI regarding the probe into unsubstantiated claims of Russian collusion.
Below, in no particular order, are nine major problems with Comey’s actions in the Russia probe. This while he tweets about determining who is "honorable."

I don't give a flying f. who is "honorable" or not.
I do give one if you are not a patriot and hurt the nation!
You and the rest of the Demorats seem bent on destroying the nation. Maybe honorable enemies of the people? That said, Jean Lafitte the pirate, did is part to save the new nation at New Orleans. He wasn't honorable, he wasn't nice, he was a fricking pirate but he helped save the nation. Much more useful then the deep state coup d-etat fans the Demorats have become.

[PJMedia] So imagine our surprise when the left, after their defeat in November 2016, decided it was all the Russian's fault, and went from unfounded accusations of "hacking the elections" which seem to indicate that Russia had hacked the vote gathering or counting apparatus (they didn’t) to claims that Russia had, somehow, hacked our national psyche with their few purchased ads on Facebook, their trollish comments on political blogs, and their organizing of a half dozen demonstrations.
...Even then, it is almost impossible to understand why they think this helped Trump, since ads, demonstrations and probably (not sure since the Russian IP ones on my blog were uniformly either crazy-religious or racist. Neither of which, btw, tracks with supporting Trump, really) the trolling were on both sides of the political spectrum.
Almost impossible, but not impossible if you realize two things about the left:
They have no conceptual model under which they fail. They simply never expected another Republican would ever be elected president, and though I’m not willing to spend time looking, I’m sure you can find dozens of articles saying that.
...They’re born and bred oikophobes. ALL other countries are better than the US. All of them. But Russia is particularly good because most of these red-diaper babies or their parents were raised on the idea that Russia had founded the perfect communist state. Even after the Soviet Union fell, they lamented "the good guys lost" and even now if you want to wind one of them up, any mention of the Stalinist massacres brings foaming at the mouth denial. So of course, if some mastermind could be really sneaky and "hack" America, it must be Russia. And as they all know the "good guys" lost in Russia too, hence, of course, they might sabotage them here.

Gazans pour sewage into the sea - they hurt Mother Gaia!
[IsraelTimes] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Saturday vowed that Israel would demolish the house of the Paleostinian who ran over and killed two IDF soldiers and maimed two others in a car-ramming attack in the West Bank.
"We will work to demolish the home of the terrorist and will deal with him to the fullest extent of the law," he said.
The statements came after the Shin Bet security service said that 26-year-old Ala Qabha confessed to carrying out the attack.
The security agency said that it appeared the Paleostinian resident of the village of Barta’a, near Jenin, acted alone, and possibly spontaneously, when he drove his vehicle into a group of soldiers standing guard near the settlement of Mevo Dotan in the northern West Bank on Friday afternoon. The army on Friday designated the car-ramming as a terror attack.
Qabha did a U-turn on the road before plowing into the soldiers, and accelerated into them, Israeli TV reports said Saturday, leaving no doubt that the attack was deliberate.
Earlier Saturday, IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot confirmed that Israeli forces tossed in the clink Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit! Qabha’s brother and an uncle in the family’s hometown of Barta’a, outside Jenin. Both relatives were initially suspected of helping him carry out the deadly attack.
Forces also mapped out Qabha’s home in preparation for its demolition, conducted a broader search of the village for illegal weapons, and continued security checks of cars in the roads surrounding Barta’a.
Qabha’s family insisted the deadly incident was an accident. His father told the Walla news site Saturday that his son is not affiliated with any terrorist group, and did not intentionally target Israeli troops. "This isn’t the first car accident like this and won’t be the last," Rateb Qabha said. "You hear about accidents like these every day in the news."
Asked about reports in Hebrew-language media that his son was known to Israeli intelligence services, and had recently been released from prison, Qabha downplayed the allegations, saying that Ala had gotten in to trouble once "for stone throwing or something like that."
On Friday, the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories Maj. Gen. Yoav Mordechai announced that he had revoked the work permits of some 30 relatives of Qabha following the attack.
A front man for the Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva said Saturday morning that there had been no improvement in the status of the pair of injured soldiers, whose conditions remained very serious and moderate respectively. Both of the soldiers underwent multiple surgeries overnight for injuries sustained after Qabha plowed his car into the troops.
The Beilinson front man said that doctors were still working to save the life of the soldier at death's door as his status worsened.
One of the victims was pronounced dead at the scene. A second died a short time later, after attempts to save his life failed. Qabha was stopped by IDF troops less than a hundred feet from the scene. The 26-year-old was then interrogated and transferred to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera for treatment of his minor injuries. He remains in Israeli custody.

When the Vietnam war ended all the titles of the Air America planes along with the CIA chief who "owned" them and the planes themselves disappeared.
The CIA still had "redline" money for years later so maybe they still helped out the Burma Triangle folks.
So, after their dark lord Obama, what "resources" did Brennan and his clique help themselves to?
#2
Brennan is the son of Irish immigrants from Roscommon, Republic of Ireland. He was born in North Bergen, New Jersey.[10] He attended the Immaculate Heart of Mary Elementary School, and graduated from Saint Joseph of the Palisades High School in West New York, New Jersey before enrolling at Fordham University in New York City.[6]
While riding a bus to class at Fordham, he saw an ad in The New York Times that said the CIA was recruiting, and he felt a CIA career would be a good match for his "wanderlust" and his desire to do public service.[6] His studies included a junior year abroad learning Arabic and taking Middle Eastern studies courses at the American University in Cairo.[4][6]
In 1976, he voted for Communist Party USA candidate Gus Hall in the presidential election; he later said that he viewed it as a way "of signaling my unhappiness with the system, and the need for change."[17]
He received a B.A. in political science from Fordham in 1977.[4] He then attended the University of Texas at Austin, receiving a Master of Arts in government with a concentration in Middle Eastern studies in 1980.[6] He speaks Arabic fluently.[10]

IMHO, and the opinion of many other Americans, the likes of Soetero, Brennan and HRC were a far greater threat and concern to the U.S. than Donald Trump.

Funny how the media, Brennan, and Clapper and others have danced around the issue that it was the IG that recommended McCabe be fired and the actual decision to fire him came from the DoJ HR department...Trump had nothing to do with it.
They keep trying to bury how they leaked false information to the media before and after the election to create a false narrative for a willing media.
Will anyone ever fully investigate how Fusion GPS paid some media critters to publish some of their stories about the dossier (I still believe that was a separate operation from the dossier and afterall $4 million is a lot of money).

The dpa news agency reported that some of the estimated 11,000 protesters threw plastic bottles at police Saturday and threatened them with the flagpoles they were waving.
The demonstrators were also protesting German arms sales to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... and rolled their eyes, jumped up and down, and hollered poorly rhymed slogans real loud like "German tanks out of Kurdistan!" and called Ottoman Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ... No incidents were reported at smaller demonstrations in Cologne ...the largest city in North Rhine-Westphalia and the fourth populated city in Germany.... and Wuppertal.
Some demonstrators waved flags showing the leader of the banned Kurdistan Workers' Party, known as the PKK, and police say they are evaluating videos to see if they can determine their identity.

[thedrive] Brigadier General Jonathan Braga, director of operations for the main U.S. military task force in charge of operations in Iraq and Syria, said he feared the situation could have escalated into an all-out conflict with Russia.
#1
Braga seems to fear that another Russian-backed attack could easily come in the future. “I don’t think that’s healthy for de-escalation,” he told NBC's Engel, referring to the pro-Syrian forces still situated very close to American and SDF positions.
The warning shot may have already been fired in Salisbury, UK. Notice each incident of WMD attack in Syria (and there have been many) is met with categorical denial by Assad and the Russians.
I fear it is not over. These are ruthless bastards.

Why would the side thats winning the war use chemical weapons that'd invite retaliation? Assad along with the Iranians and Russians don't need need to go chemical to mop up the rest of Syria at this point in time. If anything it was when Assad was on the ropes prior to Russian involvement that he'd of used them and he very well may of. This reeks of a false flag attack at this point in the game.
[ALMASDARNEWS] On Saturday, al-Qaeda-linked jihadist murderous Moslems in northern Idlib province attempted to break through government lines at the long-besieged Shiite-majority towns of Fouaa and Kafraya.
The assault, described as an infiltration operation by local military-affiliated sources who first reported the event, was stopped dead in its tracks by local Syrian pro-government troops defending both towns.
Within a very brief engagement time, local Syrian forces bumped off at least 15 jihadists. The remaining al-Qaeda attackers were sent running from the battlefield under a hail of machine gun and mortar fire.
The murderous Moslems attempting to storm Fouaa and Kafraya belonged to Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham (better known by its former name, Jabhat al-Nusra ...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ... ). Followers of the group (and other Salafist jihadist militias in Syria) have marked the towns’ mostly Shiite population for extermination, believing them to be apostates.

[ALMASDARNEWS] On Saturday morning, another Ottoman Turkish military convoy entered northwest Syria bringing with it the forces and equipment required to set up yet another observation base.
According to sources, the new Ottoman Turkish Army military site will be established just north of Aleppo city atop the mountain of Jabal Anak near the small rebel-controlled town of Anadan.
Ottoman Turkish forces began establishing military observation points in northwest Syria at the beginning of 2018 as part of a deescalation scheme brokered between Moscow and Ankara aimed at reducing violence across the region.
The establishment of such sites by the Ottoman Turkish military comes immediately after the Syrian Army concluded its Idlib-Aleppo operation against ISIS and other bully boy groups.

[Ynet] A Syrian man accused of making a key component in improvised bombs used in attacks against US soldiers during the Iraq War was convicted Friday on federal conspiracy charges.
That was fast — his trial only started in January, though he’s been in custody since the Turks sent him over in 2014.
...he was arrested as Ahmad Ibrahim Al-Ahmad, but told the court the above is his real name. He also has been known as Ahmad Ebrahim, Ahmad Ibrahim, and Ahmed Hassan Farhan, though not in our archives. That part of his career that we care about started in 2005, when he made bombs for a gang of Saddam Hussein loyalists, carelessly leaving lots of fingerprints for the Americans to find. But before they did he’d fled with his family to China, where he set up a successful mail order business supplying key bomb components to customers in Iraq, Syria, Sudan, and Yemen. In 2011 he was arrested and jailed by the Turks, who did their bit to see that he never walks free again...
who is accused of making circuit boards used to remotely detonate roadside kabooms for the 1920 Revolution Brigades.
...a Sunni Iraqi nationalist group with a hefty sprinkling of Saddam Hussein loyalists, they fought viciously against the Americans until joining with them to attack Al Qaeda...
The group grabbed credit for 230 attacks against American soldiers in Iraq from 2005 to 2010, prosecutors have said in court papers.

[ALMASDARNEWS] Authorities from different Islamist Death Eater groups have reportedly reached a ceasefire in northwest Syria after a weeks-long inter-rebel civil war that has left hundreds of fighters from all sides killed.
Opposition and rebel sources claim that al-Qaeda affiliate militia Ha’yat Tahrir al-Sham (better know by its former name, Jabhat al-Nusra ...formally Jabhat an-Nusrah li-Ahli al-Sham (Support Front for the People of the Levant), also known as al-Qaeda in the Levant. They aim to establish a pan-Arab caliphate. Not the same one as the Islamic State, though .. ... ) and rival groups Jabhat Tahrir Souriya and Suqour al-Sham have agreed to a two-day ceasefire effective immediately.
The temporary halt order is being made in preparation for talks to organize a greater ceasefire arrangement that will decisively end the Islamist infighting all together throughout rebel-controlled areas of Idlib and Aleppo provinces.
Reports state that the main terms for the greater ceasefire is for all warring holy warriors factions to release their current prisoners and stop any further actions towards arresting new rival fighters.

[RADIOSHABELLE] Clashes in central Somalia between Somali army, Æthiopian troops, and villagers on one side and al-Shabaab ... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda... Lions of Islam have left at least 15 people dead, witnesses say.
The festivities started after armed al-Shabaab members tried to impose taxes on residents of villages around the town of Mahas, in the Hiran region.
Residents said that government soldiers backing cattle herders engaged in more than six hours of battle with the Death Eaters.
Somali government officials in Mahas confirmed the army had moved in to back up the cattle herders.
Multiple residents said at least 12 combatants, including five Lions of Islam and one civilian, were killed in the fighting.
Clashes involving pastoralists resisting al-Shabaab taxes began in Somalia’s Hiran and Middle Shabelle regions in 2013.

[DAWN] Death toll in Thursday night’s kaboom in Qila Saifullah has increased to six as officials have found four more bodies in the debris of the house which was destroyed in the powerful kaboom.
Official sources said on Friday that the blast took place in the house of 71-year-old holy man Maulvi Abdul Jogezai. Explosion -> Holy man's house. You surprised?
He was the first victim of the blast whose body was recovered from the destroyed house on Thursday night, followed by the recovery of another body. All the victims belonged to the same family.
"The blast took place when the victims were unloading firewood from a tractor-trolley parked in the courtyard of the house," Balochistan ...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it... Home Secretary Ghulam Ali Baloch told Dawn.
"It seems that explosives placed under the firewood went off," he added.
An official of Qila Saifullah district administration said that most of the bodies were found in pieces, adding that they were shifted to the District Hospital for identification.
Personnel of the bomb disposal squad (BDS) visited the blast site and collected evidence that suggested that the kaboom took place inside the house. "Around 1,200kg explosives went off while the victims were unloading firewood from the tractor trolley. The explosives had been placed under firewood," a BDS official said.

Several others were maimed in the blast claimed by the Taliban that the Afghan interior ministry said had targeted global security company G4S.
It was the fourth suicide attack in Kabul in three weeks and comes days after the top US general in Afghanistan said protecting the city was "our main effort".
It also comes as the Taliban face growing pressure to take up Afghanistan's Caped PresidentAshraf Ghani ...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. [BellingCat] Iran continues to upgrade the UAV airfield on the island of Qeshm which sits near the Strait of Hormuz, an important maritime choke-point. Satellite imagery acquired in late 2017 and early 2018 by Planet shows workers widening and lengthening the airfield’s runway. The clearing and leveling activity suggests Iran will add a further 13 meters in width and approximately 350 meters in length. The overall runway length will likely exceed 2,000 meters.
[Breitbart] President Donald Trump weighed in on the Justice Department’s decision to fire Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe, accusing him of lying and leaking to the media.
"The Fake News is beside themselves that McCabe was caught, called out and fired," Trump observed on Twitter on Saturday afternoon.
Trump reminded the public that McCabe’s wife got hundreds of thousands of dollars from "Crooked" Hillary Clinton’s friend, Terry McAuliffe.
"How many lies? How many leaks?" Trump asked. "[Former FBI Director] Comey knew it all, and much more!"
Trump’s message on Twitter drew an immediate response from the former FBI director.
"Mr. President, the American people will hear my story very soon," Comey wrote. "And they can judge for themselves who is honorable and who is not."
But Trump repeated that there was "no collusion" between Russia and the Trump campaign during the election.
"As many are now finding out, however, there was tremendous leaking, lying and corruption at the highest levels of the FBI, Justice & State," he wrote, with the hashtag #DrainTheSwamp
Trump also celebrated the news that Andrew McCabe was fired on Friday night, calling it "a great day for the hard working men and women of the FBI."
"Sanctimonious James Comey was his boss and made McCabe look like a choirboy," Trump wrote. "He knew all about the lies and corruption going on at the highest levels of the FBI!":
[BBC] A group of residents from the Indian Ocean French island of Mayotte
From Wikipedia: Mayotte is an insular department and region of France officially named the Department of Mayotte (French: Département de Mayotte). It consists of a main island, Grande-Terre (or Maore), a smaller island, Petite-Terre (or Pamanzi), and several islets around these two. The archipelago is located in the northern Mozambique Channel in the Indian Ocean off the coast of Southeast Africa, between northwestern Madagascar and northeastern Mozambique. The department status of Mayotte is recent and the region remains the poorest in France. Mayotte is nevertheless much more prosperous than the other countries of the Mozambique Channel, making it a major destination for illegal immigration.
has been rounding up suspected illegal migrants and taking them to local police.
The move targeted around 100 "foreigners, Comorans and Africans", a member of the group told AFP.
Protests against the economic crisis and illegal immigrants from the Comoros islands have paralysed the island.
Mayotte has been in turmoil since mid-February, with roadblocks, a general strike and protests.
France's minister for overseas territories, Annick Girardin, has condemned the move, saying "this kind of practice does not exist in a department".
She urged the population to let the police do their job, adding that security arrangements were already in place.
Except the police clearly are not doing their job, just as they are not permitted to in the French homeland, n’est pas?
[ALMASDARNEWS] A caucus of American politicians led by one Senator Bob Menendez have sent an official request to the US Department of State recommending sanction measures against Russia for any future sale of high-end S-400 air defense systems to other countries.
The policy initiative has pointed to a technicality in the Countering America’s Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (2017) arguing that the sale of strategic game-changing weapons (such as the S-400) by countries like Russia to other nations can be met with sanction action as a form of punishment.
The development comes as the armed forces of Soddy Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Hey Menendez, you just missed a long term in the big house breaking rocks by the skin of your teeth. Stop and consider how lunatic you are sounding.
Yes. Unless you are willing to go to war, such sanctions are unenforceable. Even if you do go to war, they might not be enforceable without being extremely costly to everyone.
[ALMASDARNEWS] On Friday afternoon, rebel fighters attempted to raid Syrian forces positions near the government stronghold town of al-Qurrayah in the western countryside of As-Suwayda province.
Not long after undertaking the attack, Lions of Islam walked into a prepared kill-zone set up by seasoned pro-government fighters belonging to a mostly Druze unit of the National Defence Forces.
When the ambush was sprung by Syrian troops, the rebels found themselves snagged in crescendo of artillery and machine gun fire that suppressed their ability to move almost immediately.
After very brief time under the fire of government forces, the murderous Moslems called off the raid and retreated back to rebel lines.
Syrian government forces and armed rebel groups share a frontier that more or less runs along the provincial border of Daraa and As-Suwayda. This most recent engagement marks the first time in a while that festivities have occurred inside As-Suwayda.

[ALMASDARNEWS] On Wednesday, different krazed killer groups operating out of northern Hama province teamed up to conduct an offensive operation against the Syrian Army aimed at relieving pressure on allied rebel faction in Damascus’ East Ghouta region.
At first, gunnies captured the towns of Kernaz and al-Hamamiyat from Syrian government forces, however, soon enough the Syrian Army and allied paramilitaries launched a counter-attack with armor, artillery and Arclight airstrikes.
The sheer power of the government counter-blow was intense enough to send rebel fighters reeling back from their gains within a few hours of making them; heavy equipment used by krazed killer groups was abandoned during the rout.
When the battle ended and the Syrian Army restored control over all lost points, dozens of gunnies had been left dead and maimed, most of them hardline Islamist types who acted as shock troops (Inghamasis) for the assault.

[ALMASDARNEWS] Elite forces of the Syrian Army have kicked-off a new assault operation against armed rebel groups in Damascus’ East Ghouta region.
According to military-affiliated sources, the Syrian Army is conducting a concentric attack in the southernmost pocket of the East Ghouta area, targeting the murderous Moslem stronghold districts of Kafr Batna and Saqba.
Both districts are located in what sources describe as the rebel-controlled ’urban heartland’ of East Ghouta ‐ the attack by government forces is coming from both the northern (into Saqba) and eastern (into Kafr Batna) directions.
At the present time, it is unclear which Syrian Army formations are involved in the assault operation, however given general knowledge on the disposition of government units in east Damascus, it may very well be the case that both the Tiger Forces Division and the Elite Republican Guard are involved.
[DAWN] Though the Peshawar Zoo, the first in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, was proudly inaugurated by Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Feb 22 this year, a life full of misery began for the wild yet helpless animals kept there soon afterward.
Some disturbing videos of visitors mistreating the caged animals like lion went viral.
Now in less than a month’s time, some animals have begun dying in the zoo.
“Life and death is a natural process. Every bird and animal has a physical age. The (dead) monkey had reached its ripe age, while the snow leopard had also reached its maximum recorded age and so, it died. We could do nothing about it,” project director of the Peshawar Zoo Mohammad Ali Shah told Dawn, exonerating himself and others concerned from the blame for recent zoo deaths.
The cold statement came from an official, who had earlier confirmed the death of a snow-leopard, too, in the same way that life and death was a natural process.
These wild animals, who lived for more than 10 years in the wild or national parks, couldn’t survive even for a month in the newly-established zoo - it is not hard to imagine the reason but the official insisted there was nothing serious in the autopsy report or mismanagement issues that caused the deaths.
The wild animals died as they had reached their maximum age, insists the official trying to cover up the fact that snow-leopard died on a day when it was 26 Degree Celsius in an enclosure having no air-conditioning.
“Yes, the wild animals are taking stress in the zoo and this could be a reason but it is just a hypothesis,” said the official trying to look for other explanations for the recent deaths.
A well-placed staff member had quite the contrary story to tell about the death of the monkey.
The monkey that Mr Shah said died of old age had in fact been attacked by the lone wolf put just in next cage to the monkeys.
The monkeys were brought in rather in hurry for the zoo as the provincial government seemed in a rush to inaugurate the zoo as its days of rule are numbered.
As the cage for monkeys was still being built, the monkey who was along with others put up in a cage next to a wolf was brutally injured and succumbed to its injuries, a staffer narrated.
A fallow-deer had died earlier.
A visit to the zoo revealed that the animals, which were known for their agility and beauty with their wilting tails and horns, seemed rather exhausted.
The black buck, spotted deer and the like were lazily huddled together under a shade as there were no trees or natural shade.
From the size of the newly planned saplings, it was sure it was going to be a long hot summer.
The National animal of the country Markhor was seen limping. It had slipped knee a month ago, a nearby staffer said who went on pointing at a deer which had been injured too. The Ostrich in the other corner has injured its wing too. The Lion, according to a staffer having injured tail, was kept inside a room –out of sight of the public whereas a lioness looked bored and seemed to have shut herself from her noisy surrounding.

[ALMASDARNEWS] On Friday, Ottoman Turkish forces perpetrated nothing short of a massacre in the city of Afrin when army artillery and air force jets indiscriminately shelled and bombed residential areas to an intensity not yet seen during Ankara’s Olive Branch operation.
According to sources, Ottoman Turkish shelling and Arclight airstrikes killed at least 45 five civilians ‐ among the dead were sixteen children and fourteen women. One Ottoman Turkish bomb reportedly struck Afrin’s main hospital leaving some nine people dead.
According the reports, Ottoman Turkish forces are deliberately attacking random civilian targets across Afrin in a bid to scare people into leaving the city.
Amid all this, thousands of civilians refuse to leave their homes in Afrin saying that they would rather die than leave anything to ’Ottoman Turkish invaders.’
[Breitbart] Turkish troops fighting to conquer the Kurdish-held region of Afrin in Syria are committing “war crimes” against Yazidis and Christians that mirror the “ethnic cleansing and genocide” in the region at the hands of the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL), declared a top United Nations envoy.
[AnNahar] More than 150,000 civilians have fled the city of Afrin in northern Syria since Wednesday evening to escape a Ottoman Turkish-led military offensive against a Kurdish militia, a war monitor said.
"There was fierce fighting throughout the night on the northern outskirts of the city as the Ottoman Turkish forces and their Syrian allies tried to break into the city," the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Saturday.
The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... and its Syrian Arab rebel allies have waged a nearly two-month offensive on the Afrin enclave, which is held by the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG).
Earlier this week, they largely surrounded the enclave's sole city, which was home to some 350,000 people, including people displaced from other parts of the enclave already overrun.
A single escape route remains open to the south to territory still held by the YPG or controlled by the Damascus government.
"Civilians are fleeing through the southern corridor," Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman told AFP.
Afrin has come under heavy air and artillery bombardment by the Ottoman Turkish army.
On Friday evening, a Ottoman Turkish bombing raid struck the city's main hospital, killing 16 civilians, a monitor said.
Turkey's military denied hitting the hospital, saying that its operation in Afrin "is carried out in such a way as to not cause any harm to civilians."

Erbil (Iraqinews.com) ‐ A Kurdish politician has rejected any Ottoman Turkish military operations in Iraq, stressing that Ottoman Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey... is nothing but an "authoritarian dictator", who does not represent the Ottoman Turkish people.
In statements to Alsumaria News on Saturday, MP Abdel Aziz Hassan warned that any interaction between the Iraqi and Ottoman Turkish governments could "stir up more troubles in the region," hence he advised the federal government in Baghdad not to allow any Ottoman Turkish troops in the country.
"It is not true that fighting the Kurds is a common denominator of both the Ottoman Turkish and Iraqi governments, and whoever thinks so is just wrong," Hassan reiterated.
The Kurdish MP further described Ottoman Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan as "an authoritarian dictator, who represents nobody but his Islamic krazed killer party."
"Erdogan sees himself as Moslem caliph and a defender of the Sunni communities in the world, forgetting a fact that he is president of a state that is supposed to be civilized," he concluded.
Last week, Ottoman Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu stressed that The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... will conduct a joint operation with Iraq against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the country.
Cavusoglu said the military operation will be launched following the upcoming parliamentary elections, slated for May, in Iraq even "if the Afrin operation has not yet been completed."
At what point does Turkey's pending Civil War look like Syria.

Since the development of polio vaccines the disease has been largely wiped out in the civilized world. Two polio workers managed to escape the attack and reached Ghalanai, the headquarter of Mohmand Agency, and informed about the incident, the officials said.
Attacks targeting polio teams were very frequent few years back but following the military operation, their frequency has decreased over the last few years.

[atimes]China’s former anti-corruption tzar is being tipped as vice-president after stepping down last year.
President Xi, who might see him as the ideal man to shore up rapidly deteriorating trade relations with the US.
“He has an international Rolodex and stays in touch with people,” a friend told the Financial Times. “He says it’s a shame that most of his colleagues don’t do the same.”
But few have his forthright demeanor. In his 2015 memoir, Dealing with China, Hank Paulson, the former US Treasury Secretary and Goldman Sachs CEO, recalled a bruising encounter with Wang at the height of the global financial crisis in 2010.
“You were my teacher but look at your system, Hank, we aren’t sure we should be learning from you anymore,” Paulson recounted.
Blunt approach
Predictably, there are concerns that this blunt approach might prove counterproductive when dealing with President Donald Trump’s administration in Washington. Putting out the flames, not fanning them, would be the “fire brigade chief’s” priority. There are also other problems.
Even now, he is respected but not liked.
“This could be a figurehead job with no real power or a very important role,” Hu Ping, the editor of the Chinese-language monthly Beijing Spring in New York, said. “[But because of Xi’s backing] Wang could become the most powerful [vice-president] in Chinese Communist Party history.”
“Wang’s political resurgence could help [President] Xi serve another term,” Xie Xuanjun, a China scholar based in New York, told Radio Free Asia.
With his ‘enforcer’ back in the picture, anything is possible.

[RADIOSHABELLE] A court ruled Friday that Kenyan police can continue detaining five people who allegedly planned to attack a Nairobi courthouse so a Moslemholy man facing terror charges could escape.
Police accuse the suspects and the holy man of being members of the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab ... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda... holy warrior group from Somalia that has vowed vengeance on Kenya for sending troops into Somalia to fight the holy warriors.
The Anti-Terrorism Police Unit said the suspects plotted to attack the Milimani Laws Courts building in the capital on Feb. 16, when Sheik Guyo Gorsa was expected to appear on terrorism and related charges.
Gorsa, a Moslem religious leader, was placed in durance vile Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Nuttin'! in January in Marsabit County. After his arrest, local residents destroyed a Roman Catholic church and a bank.
The court ruled Friday that the five suspects could be held for another 30 days.
Police say the suspects were arrested in mid-February after officers spotted a vehicle loaded with explosives and weapons hidden in a thicket in the county of Isiolo. The report says officers were shot at when they approached the vehicle and they returned fire, killing one suspect.
Two other people were arrested at the scene, and authorities say the vehicle was found to be rigged as a bomb with 176 pounds (80 kilograms) of TNT. Police also removed five rifles, 36 loaded magazines, 36 unprimed hand grenades and 18 improvised bombs, authorities say.
Al-Shabaab has vowed to strike at Kenya for deploying troops to Somalia in 2011 to fight the holy warriors, who were threatening to topple Somalia’s weak government. The group has grabbed credit for numerous attacks in Kenya, including the September 2013 assault on the Westgate Mall that killed 67 people and the April 2015 attack on Garissa University that caused 150 deaths, the majority of the students.

[DAWN] An Iraqi teenager, who had come to Britannia as an asylum seeker, was found guilty on Friday of attempted murder after detonating a homemade bomb on a packed rush-hour London commuter train, injuring 30 people, prosecutors and police said.
Ahmed Hassan, 18,
...the admitted manipulative liar who told the court his full name is Ahmed Hassan Mohammad Ali, and at eighteen is now old enough to be diagnosed as a psychopath...
was found guilty of trying to murder the passengers on board an underground train heading to central London on Sept 15 last year, prosecutors said.
The bomb went off at Parsons Green station and flames engulfed the carriage, but it did not fully explode, limiting the scale of injuries in what authorities said was Britannia’s fifth major attack of 2017.
"It was only a matter of luck that the device did not work as he intended or it could easily have led to the loss of innocent lives," said Sue Hemming from Britannia’s Crown Prosecution Service.
Hassan, who the court heard had spoken of his duty to hate Britannia because of the deaths of his parents in Iraq, had been placed under Britannia’s counter-radicalisation programme at the time.
"He was very cunning and devious," Dean Haydon, the head of London Police’s Counter Terrorism Command told BBC TV.
"On the face of it, Hassan was engaged on the programme. But coming back to his devious nature, he kept it very secretive in relation to what he was doing, what he was planning, and nobody around him actually knew what his plot was." Haydon said a review of the counter-radicalisation programme would now be undertaken.
On the day of the attack, the teenager left his foster home in Sunbury-on-Thames in west London and set the timer for the device, made with the highly volatile triacetone triperoxide.
[Ynet] Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,'s security forces shut down Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... i-Paleostinian cell phone carrier's Gazoo offices, citing their refusal to cooperate in probe into attempt on life of Paleostinian PM Hamdallah.
Gazoo's Hamas rulers have shut the offices of a Qatari-Paleostinian cellular provider in connection with its investigation into an kaboom that targeted the visiting Paleostinian prime minister.
Hamas police front man Ayman Batniji said Saturday that Wataniya Mobile, a subsidiary of Qatar's Ooredoo, was being closed down for "refusing to cooperate" in the inquiry.
A Paleostinian source familiar with the details of the investigation told Ynet noted that the probe found that the snuffies used the lines of Paleostinian cellular communications companies Wataniya Mobile and Jawwal to carry out the attack‐apparently using a mobile phone to activate the explosive charges.
Initially, a roadside kaboom struck a convoy carrying Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah earlier this week after he crossed into Gazoo from Israel, wounding some of his bodyguards. Local reports say a second bomb that failed to detonate contained a Wataniya SIM card.
Hamdallah's West Bank-based Paleostinian Authority held Hamas responsible for the attack. Hamas, which overthrew PA forces in 2007 to seize control of Gazoo, rejected the accusation and appears to be looking to shift blame to others.
Details of the failed hit led to the conclusion that a technical failure prevented a second bomb from exploding. According to reports, the weight of each of the two charges was 15 kilograms, and they were placed 40 meters apart.
Hamdallah was visiting the Gazoo Strip accompanied by Paleostinian General Intelligence chief Majid Faraj. The kaboom took place on Saladin Street, a main thoroughfare in the Gazoo town of Beit Hanoun.
An bomb operated by a timer wasp purportedly planted on the bottom of a light post on the side of the road. Several security guards were maimed in the kaboom.
Minutes after the blast, Hamdallah, appearing unhurt, delivered a speech at an inauguration of a new sewage purification facility in the northern Gazoo Strip, stressing the attack "will not deter (us‐ed) from seeking to end the bitter split" and that Fatah will continue coming to the strip to try to end divisions with Hamas.

[DAWN] Indian government forces killed two turbans who tried to snatch a guard’s rifle in disputed Kashmire, police alleged in a statement on Friday.
As word of the killings spread, protests against Indian rule and festivities erupted in the region.
At least two men were trapped overnight in a home on the outskirts of Srinagar after they tried to take the rifle from an officer guarding a local leader of India’s ruling Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party, police said, adding that the officer was maimed.
Counterinsurgency police and soldiers cordoned off the neighbourhood and killed the two men in the exchange of gunfire that followed, they claimed.
The slain men were from neighbouring Pulwama district, where officials ordered schools and colleges to be closed on Friday in an attempt to stop student protests.
Protests and festivities occurred separately in another village north of Srinagar after authorities sealed it on a tip that some suspected turbans were hiding there.
Police said a brief shootout followed, but at least two turbans escaped during the severe festivities between rock-throwing protesters and government forces using tear gas. No casualties were immediately reported.
