Professionally done, I'd say - I'd expect no less from Grassley.
[Twitchy] - It sounds like Senate Judiciary Committee Chair Chuck Grassley has had enough of Christine Blasey Ford and her legal team’s ‐ and the Democrats’ ‐ stalling tactics: (letter from Grassley to Ford's lawyer(s) at the link)
Throughout this mess, Grassley’s conduct has been nothing short of professional and courteous. He and the Republicans on the Senate Judiciary Committee have made numerous attempts to contact Ford and her attorneys, have extended her numerous opportunities to tell her story, and have been met with obfuscation at every turn. Playtime is over.
As U.S.-China trade tensions are escalating, Chinese Premier Li Keqiang said Wednesday his government is able to help the domestic economy withstand challenges.
"China is confronted with a host of difficulties and challenges in economic development," Li acknowledged during an address speaking at a World Economic Forum conference in Tianjin, China.
"Deeply integrated into the world economy, the Chinese economy is inevitably affected by notable changes in the global economic and trade context," he said. "Indeed, we're facing greater difficulties in keeping stable performance of the Chinese economy."
But Li insisted his country was comfortable with its economic situation. Li said Beijing has "prepared sufficient tools for us to deal with risks and challenges" and added that "these policy tools will boost China's resilience to cope with various challenges and difficulties."
Going forward, the Chinese premier said, his country did not expect to make any major changes to its macroeconomic policy, but would instead be "giving more attentions to preemptive measures and fine tunings."
'More harm than good'
Li, who is second-in-command to Chinese President Xi Jinping, did not specifically mention the trade dispute between China and the U.S. but he echoed a frequent Beijing refrain that "free trade" benefits the world overall, and that countries should make decisions together.
"It is essential that we uphold the basic principles of multilateralism and free trade," he said. "Irrespective of the rooms for improvement for these rules, we believe that these rules have first and foremost benefited the progress of all mankind. And for any existing problems, they need to be worked out through consultation: No unilateralism will offer a viable solution." Keep the screws tight, Donald.
[SultanKnish] Two million people arrived in Germany in 2015 and 1.8 million people next year in 2016.
Jawed came to Germany in 2015, while Abdul had arrived the year after in 2016. Both Jawed and Abdul were Afghan Muslim migrants. Both applied for asylum and had their asylum applications rejected.
Abdul Mobin Dawodzai was recently sentenced to eight years in prison for stabbing to death Mia Valentin, a 15-year-old girl, to death. Jawed went to Amsterdam and stabbed two American tourists at the central station.
Abdul was angry that Mia broke up with him. Jawed was angry about insults to Islam and Mohammed.
...In March, Hussein Khavari, an Afghan refugee who had fled to Germany in 2015, was sent to prison for raping and murdering Maria Ladenburger, a 19-year-old German student. But Hussein wasn’t fleeing Afghanistan; he was fleeing Greece, where he had thrown a 20-year-old female student off a cliff after robbing her. The Greeks sentenced him to a decade in prison, but Hussein fled to Germany instead.
Like Abdul, Hussein claimed to be a minor when he was actually in his twenties. (He may not have even actually been from Afghanistan.)
Afghans, it’s been noted, stand out for their rate of violence, even among other Muslim migrants.
...Angela Merkel, Germany’s open borders leader, had briefly ramped up Afghan deportations in response to public outrage, until a massive bombing in Kabul last year led to yet another change in policy.
...The thousands of Taliban fighters who, according to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), had entered Germany and applied for asylum, could conveniently no longer be deported.
Earlier this year, a German court sentenced Abdol Moghadas, an Afghan refugee, to four years in prison for his role in the death of Pfc. Christian Jacob Chandler: an American soldier serving in Afghanistan.
Abdol was one of Germany’s many Taliban fighters.
...Why have so many Taliban gone to Germany? One answer might lie in the covert relationship between the Taliban and German intelligence. It was Germany who had pioneered diplomatic talks with the Taliban, and who had welcomed Taliban leaders onto German soil.
...When there are no borders, when deportations are a toothless affair, when the rights of migrants matter more than those of the native population, then Islamic terrorism truly has no borders.

I wouldn't classify individuals like Dawodzai and Khavari as terrorists.
They acted in accordance with Afghan Muslim notions of legality and decency.
Dawodzai punished his girl who had been breaking the law, who was openly defying the law.
Khavari took what was his in the subjugated enemy nation.
This is a clash of legal consensuses and a clash of cultural consensuses which has a far bigger impact on Europe than occasional spectacular terror attacks.
[TIME] President Trump expressed his support Wednesday after North Korean leader Kim Jong Un pledged to reduce his country’s nuclear capabilities at a summit this week with southern counterpart, at which denuclearization is high on the agenda.
Kim agreed Wednesday to permanently dismantle his Nyongbyon nuclear facility pending reciprocal measures from the U.S., according to South Korean President Moon Jae In.
"Very exciting!" Trump said at the end of a pair of late-night tweets, which also touted the return of the remains of American Korean War casualties and an announced proposal for North and South Korea to jointly host the 2032 Summer Olympics.
[PJ] In his homily during the daily Mass at the Vatican Tuesday, Pope Francis likened himself to the suffering Christ who was crucified because "the people were deceived by the powerful."
Speaking from Casa Santa Marta in Vatican City, "the Dictator Pope"* went on to say that his response to the "Great Accuser" would (continue to) be "silence and prayer."
According to the Vatican News Service, "the Pope encouraged pastors to imitate Jesus in being near to people" rather than the powerful or ideologues who "poison souls."
While most Christians would say Christ's authority comes from God the Father, Pope Francis argued that it comes from the people because "he spent most of his time on the road, touching, embracing, listening and looking at the people in the eye."

Can't do much with that, might as well go on with the confirmation since the FBI is never going to investigate.

No way in hell does some bimbo who comes out of the woodwork with zero credibility get to demand an FBI investigation. So, if she won't testify, might as well get on with the confirmation.

Same thing with Anita whatshername, Clarence Thomas's accuser.
The allegations were forwarded to the FBI and investigated. The FBI said there was no there there.
A congressional staffer was so agitated over Clarence Thomas, they leaked the allegations without the attached summary of investigation.
The FBI looked at this and said there is no there there and nothing to investigate. the incident exceeds the statue of limitations, the accuser won't be deposed and all of the "witnesses" or supposed co-conspirators have all testified that Kavanaugh wasn't even at the party, much less involved in whatever happened.

Somehow as a society we need women to make police reports when an incident happens. Even if there is not enough evidence to prosecute a police report at the time would be very helpful in establishing credibility in a he said/she said incident later.
It also might be good top put the police under a microscope on how they handle such reports.
And there should be legal repercussions for false charges.
Do that and things will be cleaned up pretty quickly.

That saying comes from the Greek playwright Aeschylus. It's particularly apt in the case of the allegations leveled against Brett Kavanaugh during the confirmation hearings for his nomination as a justice of the US Supreme Court. They've proved to be nothing less than a war on him by the Democratic Party, acting as a spokesperson for every left-wing and progressive group in this country.
I think the allegations raised by Prof. Ford are absolute nonsense. Quite apart from their vagueness and lack of detail, they're overwhelmingly at odds with everything else we've learned about Mr. Kavanaugh during months of investigations. What's more, the way in which they've been handled is profoundly suspect. Far from her claimed desire for anonymity, she appears to have contacted news media months ago, and also scrubbed her social media accounts at the same time of material that shows her to be a far-left-wing activist.
I think Karl Denninger puts the situation in its proper perspective.
There are several possibilities:
...Now add into the mix this: The alleged "victim" has more animus and thus reason to lie as a consequence of her political orientation and advocacy than did the Duke LaCrosse stripper. That may have simply been a matter of not getting a "respectful enough" tip for her dancing gig.
...Oh, and both the accuser and Feinswine are known to want to derail Kavanaugh by any means possible -- Feinswine has specifically so-stated, yet she sat on the very thing that could have done so for two months. This implies that she knows the claim is false because otherwise she would have been best served in her interests, which she has publicly stated, by immediately both releasing it and forcing an investigation -- in July.
[Free Beacon] The National Science Foundation is spending over $1 million to train two-dozen "social justice" math teachers in Philadelphia.
The Drexel University project will promote Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) high school curriculums that are "steeped in the context of social justice."
The project, which began this summer, is recruiting 24 Drexel students earning a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, which they will train to teach in school districts in Philadelphia.
"The project will use recent scientific, mathematical, and educational knowledge to prepare and support the twenty-four pre-service teacher candidates with an emphasis on understanding the culture and life experiences of students in high-need schools," according to the grant for the study.
The stated goal of the study is to "promote social justice teaching."

[PIPES] Europe's mainstream media has reached a point of distorted frenzy about what it calls the "far-right" and "neo-Nazis." I know. I have just experienced this first hand. Allow me, please, to tell my tale.
Ezra Levant of Canada is a brilliant conservative and an eloquent critic of the Left. He's indefatigable and successful; Rebel Media, which he founded in February 2015, has over one million YouTube subscribers. Of his many concerns, such as "ethical oil," Levant most worries about the threat of Islamism.
Our common outlook means we often cooperate, and he recently invited me to join a Rebel Media cruise on the Danube River in June 2019, which I accepted. It makes roughly equidistant daily trips, beginning with two towns in Germany (Regensburg, Passau), then four in Austria (Linz, Melk, Dürnstein, Vienna), one in Slovakia (Bratislava), and one in Hungary (Budapest).
Of course, the cruise has a political element as well. The talent includes British journalist Katie Hopkins and activist Tommy Robinson; and, as the brochureexplains, "we'll also meet with local political leaders of democratic political groups who are working to preserve western civilization and values" – the Alternative für Deutschland party, Sebastian Kurz' government in Austria, and Viktor Orbán's in Hungary.
[NBC] Clinton said an anonymous New York Times op-ed was "horrifying" and raised the likelihood that Trump might try a purge of staff he suspects of working against him.
Hillary Clinton predicted Tuesday that President Donald Trump will "wholesale fire people" in the White House and become increasingly unaccountable, if Democrats don't check his power by winning a majority of seats in the House or Senate in the November midterm elections.
Clinton made the remarks during the former secretary of state's appearance on MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show."
"What I worry about, Rachel, is that after this election this president is going to wholesale fire people," Clinton said. " ... And if we [Democrats] don’t have one or both houses of Congress in place he will be even more uncontrollable and unaccountable. He will fire people in the White House, he will fire people in this administration who he thinks are crossing him, questioning him, undermining him."
Clinton, who ran the State Department during part of the Obama administration, said an anonymous opinion piece in The New York Times was "horrifying" and raised the likelihood that Trump might try a purge of staff he suspects of working against him.

[Hot Air] If Syria shoots down a Russian jet, shouldn’t Russia be angry with ... Syria? One might think so, but the Russian defense ministry has other ideas. After Syrian anti-aircraft fire took down a Russian surveillance plane with 15 on board, Moscow threatened Israel with retaliation, accusing them of masking their attacks on Iranian installations as they targeted weapons transfers to Hezbollah:
Maj. Gen. Igor Konashenkov, the ministry spokesman, told reporters that 15 people were killed late Monday after Syrian air defenses — activated in response to Israeli strikes — hit a Russian surveillance plane as it scrambled to leave the area.
“By using the Russian plane as a cover, the Israeli air pilots made it vulnerable to Syrian air defense fire,” Konashenkov said. “As a result, the Ilyushin-20, its reflective surface being far greater than that of an F-16, was downed by a missile launched with the S-200 system.”
He added that Israel gave Russia only a minute’s warning before launching the attack.
“Russia reserves the right to take appropriate measures against hostile actions by Israel,” Konashenkov said.
How serious is this? BBC defense reporter Jonathan Marcus thinks “Russia’s anger is real,” but their blamecasting is mainly for show:

The irony here is the only reason the Israeli jet didn't take out the S-200 launch site is because the site was more than likely manned by Russian technicians.
I recommend Dan Hampton's 'Hunter Killers' general Konashenkov, and Russian lessons learned working with the North Vietnamese.

[MAIL] The president of Poland appealed to President Donald Trump's well known affection for slapping his name on buildings as he pitched a permanent U.S. military base in his country that he said would be named 'Fort Trump.'
The president raised his eyebrow at the idea but didn't rule it out.
Trump then hailed Poland's offer to pay $2 billion toward U.S. costs, even as he blasted other unnamed 'immensely wealthy' countries the U.S. effectively pays to defend.
Trump says that he's considering the idea and that Poland has offered more than $2 billion to the U.S. to pay for such an effort.

In reality Poland has Russians right at its border in Kaliningrad. Russia has also been looking to seize the Suwalki corridor so it has a nice land bridge to Belarus as Kaliningrad is isolated at the moment.
US troops are currently deployed in the Suwalki area, but are woefully under strength to stop a Russian invasion and are only there as a tripwire force and for advisement. Stars and Stripes had a great article on it yesterday.
Would it make the Russians more paranoid? Yeah (what doesn't?)
Would it make Putie's land grab harder? Hell yeah.

US should work with Poland and Hungary and any of teh other East Europe nations that are showing signs of sanity and build a neutral defense pact. Something solid that doesn't depend entirely on the US so that it can survive a few Democrat administrations. A pact that is defense oriented and unthreatening to Russia. Make a big Switzerland between Russia and Germany. We could even encourage the new state to purchase *some* Russian equipment to keep Putin happy.

[Chicago Sun Times] WASHINGTON – Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s administration will send the City Council two ordinances on Thursday to seal a 99-year deal to build the Obama Presidential Center in Jackson Park.
City Hall officials involved in the negotiations with the Obama Presidential Foundation briefed reporters on Tuesday with the actual written legislation not available because it was still being finalized.
One of the ordinances includes the agreements between the foundation and the city, which includes the foundation paying the city $10 for the 99-year pact; the other ordinance clears the legal way to plow under Cornell Drive from 59th Street to Hayes Drive to be reconfigured as green space on the Obama campus. The closing of Cornell has been controversial.
Last May and June, the Chicago Plan Commission and City Council approved the zoning and authorized the Obama development under the Lake Michigan and Chicago Lakefront Protection ordinance.
On top of her McCarthyite smear of Judge Kavanaugh, she’s closely tied to both Chinese and Russian operations in the United States.
To date, only one fairly obscure member of Congress has asked our intel people‐in this case, the FBI--to look into the alarming case of a Chinese agent becoming her office manager and personal chauffeur.
...The Chinese agent is apparently working without annoyance in California. Feinstein is running for reelection. I wonder if he is planning to vote for her.
Banks asked for an investigation and a briefing. That was last month, and I haven’t seen anything since. Have you? Yet the "news" is chock-a-block with thousands of column inches on an unknown event alleged by an unknown woman who claims it happened when she and Judge Kavanaugh were in high school 35-40 years ago.
...This is a good way to measure how little Chinese espionage matters to the nation’s law enforcers and opinion makers. Well, of course, and we all know why: nobody is accusing Trump of colluding with Beijing.
Funny world. So many things are backwards. We have apparently hard evidence of Chinese espionage in the office of the number one senator on the Senate Intelligence Committee‐the FBI told her about it five years ago, and she did nothing (nor did the bureau)‐but nobody seems concerned. Meanwhile, there is no evidence of any collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign, yet half the world constantly frets about "it."

A certain class of never Trump-harumphers are leading the charge on behalf of Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh's memory-addled partisan accuser Christine Blasey Ford -- who cannot recall the year she was allegedly traumatized, where it happened, who threw the party that paralyzed her for nearly four decades, how many were in attendance during her claimed assault, how she got there or how she left.
...That is a dumb and dangerous default. The costly toll of "believing women," instead of believing evidence, can be seen in the hundreds and hundreds of cases recorded by the University of Michigan Law School's National Registry of Exonerations involving innocent men falsely accused of rape and rape/murders.
It's not about women, or me, it's about "the struggle"

BLUF:
[Federalist] YET ANOTHER CLINTON COVER-UP?
Why would the government engage in a massive cover-up in late 1996, involving multiple agencies, including the FBI, CIA, and National Transportation Safety Board, to disguise the fact that the U.S. military had accidentally shot down a civilian airliner? Probably for the same reason that multiple government agencies, like the FBI and DOJ, would torpedo an investigation into egregious violations of law by a secretary of state running highly classified national security information over an illegal personal server: to ensure that a Clinton won an upcoming presidential election.
EERIE SIMILARITIES TO CLINTON SERVER CASE
The political and investigative similarities between the TWA 800 and Hillary Clinton server cases, as well as the anti-Trump investigation, are eerie and deeply disturbing. In light of everything that we have learned that senior officials in our law enforcement and intelligence agencies are willing to do to protect a favored political candidate through the incessantly texting lovers, FBI agent Strzok and FBI attorney Page, the damning DOJ inspector general’s report on the handling of the Hillary Clinton email server investigation, and Comey’s smug, self-righteous testimony, we need to face this truth: conspiracies of the most egregious sort can and do occur among the powerful governing elite of our country.
Certainly if the FBI were willing to whitewash intelligence information abuses that would send any other American to prison for many years, all to benefit Hillary Clinton, and if multiple agencies were willing to collude to mount an utterly fabricated counterintelligence operation against a U.S. presidential candidate to benefit that same Hillary Clinton, they would be willing to tank an investigation of an accident that would benefit her husband, Bill Clinton.
The FBI must be torn out, root and branch, and reconstituted under new management, a new name, and with new safeguards to ensure these sorts of abuses of its power and resources do not continue. Before that can occur, however, the agency’s sins must be exposed to the light. The families of 230 victims of an horrific disaster deserve as much. Mr. President, re-open the investigation into the cause of the TWA 800 crash.

Was 'Operation Global Yankee' (July 1996) an exercise designed to prevent a 9/11 style attack? Was this an exercise gone horribly wrong ?
Perhaps the Clinton's do have the Intelligence Community by the nads. A compelling chronology and geographic location if nothing more:
The 1993 World Trade Center bombing was a terrorist attack on the World Trade Center, carried out on February 26, 1993, when a truck bomb detonated below the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. Wikipedia

I knew a pilot who flew TWA 800 prior to his retirement. He thought there more to the crash than was being reported. He said the aircraft was a safe, very robust and stable aircraft.
[American Thinker] President Trump has ordered the declassification of documents related to the questionable FISA warrants on how the FBI got authorization to surveil Trump aide Carter Page. The howls from both the Democrats and the national security community can now be heard from orbit. It just goes to show how badly it needed to be done.
According to Fox News:
President Trump on Monday ordered the declassification of several key documents related to the FBI investigation of Russian actions during the 2016 presidential election, including 21 pages of an application for a renewed surveillance warrant against former campaign aide Carter Page, and text messages from disgraced FBI figures Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.
Following that, we got reportage like this:
Rep. Adam Schiff (Calif.), the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said Trump's "selective release of materials he believes are helpful to his defense team and thinks will advance a false narrative" is a "clear abuse of power," and based on his conversations with federal law enforcement officials, the FBI and Justice Department see the release of these unredacted documents as "a red line that must not be crossed as they may compromise sources and methods."
...and this:
David Kris, former chief of the Justice Department's national security division and founder of the Culper Partners consulting firm, said Mr. Trump's action was "especially unprecedented" because he was overruling subordinates who had provided a redacted version of the surveillance application to Congress and because the order pertained to a continuing investigation of which Mr. Trump is a subject.
...and this:
Democrats on Monday contended that the declassification order was another salvo in a partisan battle being waged to protect Mr. Trump and discredit an investigation that has already resulted in guilty pleas or convictions of his former campaign chairman, his former national security adviser and several others involved in his campaign or his business.
"President Trump, in a clear abuse of power, has decided to intervene in a pending law enforcement investigation by ordering the selective release of materials he believes are helpful to his defense team and thinks will advance a false narrative," said Rep. Adam Schiff (D., Calif.), the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee.
So we're seeing quite an alarm from both the Deep State and the Democrats over declassifying just why the FBI took up the case of spying on Carter Page dating from October 2016; got three FISA court extensions (read this from Thomas Lifson yesterday about why those extensions are so problematic); and yielded absolutely zero charges, let alone convictions, against Page their target ‐ just surveillance, surveillance, surveillance...which just happened to be a convenient thing for an administration all in for unmasking Trump officials during campaign 2016 based on that FISA warrant ‐ which previous reports say was premised on Democratic opposition research contained within the Steele dossier and nothing else.

[PJ] Out of all the departments in the federal government, my favorite is probably the U.S. Department of State. In addition to lying to everybody constantly about the stuff they're doing all over the globe, a few years ago they took the time to lie about little ol' me personally. Back in 2010, a State Department employee operating a State Department SUV made an illegal left turn on a D.C. street and crippled me for life. And as if that weren't bad enough, then the State Department lied about it.
They actually blamed me for what they did to me. They said I was jaywalking, which wasn't true. They said I collided with the vehicle, which is insane on the face of it. They just made up a bunch of stuff about the incident, without ever talking to me about it. And as far as I know, every person involved in the whole debacle -- from State Department security agent Mike McGuinn, who struck me and shattered my knee, to the State Department lawyers who looked me in the eye and lied to me -- is still employed by the federal government. The State Department threw me a little money for my inconvenience, and then they all went on their way.
No accountability. That's how government works. I'd always suspected it, but now I know it from personal experience.
So I must admit to a certain measure of schadenfreude at the following news from Project Veritas:
Today, Project Veritas released the first installment in an undercover video investigation series unmasking the deep state. This video features a State Department employee, Stuart Karaffa, engaged in radical socialist political activity on the taxpayer’s dime, while advocating for resistance to official government policies. In addition to being a State Department employee Stuart Karaffa is also a ranking member of the Metro DC Democratic Socialists of America (Metro DC DSA.)
Metro DC DSA is a socialist group that works to advance progressive causes in the metropolitan DC area.
Oh my. That doesn't sound like something a federal employee is supposed to be doing on the taxpayer's dime, does it?
And of course, the report comes complete with the delicious hidden camera footage we've come to expect from James O'Keefe:

I'd say a 'liberal' interpretation of said citations could be something with more sting than being fired.
[BBC] The founder and former head of the Blackwater private security firm, Erik Prince, has said he believes private security contractors are key to ending the war in Afghanistan.
Speaking to BBC Hardtalk’s Stephen Sackur, Mr Prince said he had produced a plan that would see troops replaced with private military contractors who would work alongside Afghan forces under a special envoy that reported directly to the US president.
The role of defence contractors in warfare sparked international debate after the killings in Baghdad’s Nisoor Square in 2007.
Since the US-led invasion in 2001, Afghanistan has never been as insecure as it is now, with the Taliban controlling more territory than at any point since their removal of their regime 17 years ago.
Mr Prince is now executive director at the Frontier Services Group.
[Townhall] Over 2,500 medical students and healthcare professionals at over 30 leading medical centers held events on Monday urging the public to treat "gun violence" as a public health crisis, The Mercury News reported.
The events were part of Scrubs Addressing the Firearms Epidemic (SAFE), a non-partisan action co-founded by Stanford’s Professor of Medicine Dr. Dean Winslow, a Republican, and fourth year medical student Sarabeth Spitzer, a Democrat. Winslow is a retired U.S. Air Force colonel and flight surgeon who was deployed six times to Iraq and Afghanistan.
At Stanford, healthcare professionals spoke about the health risk associated with guns, the gun epidemic and trauma care. At the University of California San Francisco, two panels discussed California's firearms laws and recommended ways to talk to patients about firearm access, safety, and risk.
According to Spain, it's difficult for medical professionals to get involved in the gun debate because of the political nature surrounding firearms.
"If this were any other public health problem, we wouldn’t stand for it. But it’s such a hot button political topic that we lose the ability to talk about it," Spain told The Mercury News. "We’ve been a little slow. We’re politically adverse. Our mission is education and research. This is advocacy."
Medical associations and groups have become involved in the gun control debate. The American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association are just a few who have thrown their hat into the arena.

Their real concern is all the gunshot wounds they see in their emergency rooms due to gangs shooting illegally acquired handguns at all in the vicinity, but that is the result of a two-fold law enforcement problem: international narco-gangs having sneaked their people into America illegally to take over the local immigrant gangs, and the police and courts not being permitted to act seriously against such miscreants.
A gun ban addresses the effect of illegal handgun onership by gangsters, not the cause, and targets the law-abiding who are not in either the perpetrating population or the victim population.

trailing wife, I could be wrong but if this is the Stanford in the heart of Silicon Valley they aren't likely to see a lot of gang violence. Nearby Oakland and San Jose have gangs but they also have fine hospitals that would be much closer. East Palo Alto used to have gangs but I think they've been gentrified out of business.

[The Hill] Hillary Clinton said Tuesday that an FBI investigation into the sexual assault allegations against Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh wouldn't take long.
"I don't think it wouldn't be a lengthy investigation," Clinton told MSNBC's "The Rachel Maddow Show."
"I think it could be done in an expeditious manner if they're still trying to have a vote on this nominee, they could postpone for two weeks," she said.
The lawyer for the woman accusing Kavanaugh of attempted sexual assault, Christine Blasey Ford, said Tuesday that Ford would not testify before the Senate Judiciary committee until the FBI has investigated her claims.
Clinton backed Ford's decision, saying Tuesday, "I think that's a reasonable request."
"The White House could answer it very quickly, by asking the FBI to reopen its background check and to take into account the accusation that has been made and to gather the evidence about what can be known," she explained.
The FBI has previously declined to investigate Ford's allegations against Kavanaugh, in which she says he attempted to sexually assault her at a party in the early 1980s.

Yes. People miss understanding that the entire point of the statute of limitations is lots of evidence and testimony can be lost over a long time frame.
The fact there is no stature of limitation for murder speaks to the heinousness of the crime, not the practicalities of solving it.

Early one Sunday morning back around the time "this" "happened," I was hanging around the lobby of a building in which the FBI was a tenant when a guy showed up at the door demanding to talk to them. Strange, unlikeable character, instantly fileable under "Crank," but he looked to have been well and truly bashed (as he claimed) and recently treated for it. I called upstairs, was pleasantly surprised that they agreed to see him, and sent him up, to unknown effect. Point being, this oddball who looked as if he'd just crawled over from Big Hospital was able to get a sitdown with the FBI practically before he'd sobered up. And... well, for once I won't belabor a point.
[The Hill] A Republican candidate won an upset victory Tuesday night in the runoff for a Texas state Senate seat that had been held by Democrats for more than a decade.
Pete Flores (R), a conservative former leader of the state Parks and Wildlife Department’s law enforcement division, won a surprise victory over Democrat Pete Gallego.
The runoff election was held following the resignation of the seat's previous holder, state Sen. Carlos Uresti (D), after Uresti was found guilty of charges related to defrauding investors in an oil services company and sentenced to prison.
Uresti previously defeated Flores in 2016 by double digits. Flores won won in an eight-way special election encompassing both parties earlier this year, with Gallego trailing him by single digits.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott (R) congratulated Flores on his victory in a statement. Republicans now control 21 of the state's 31 Senate seats.

Pergram tweeted Feinstein's comments, citing his colleague Connor Marley.

[AnNahar] New festivities flared between rival militias south of Libya's capital Tripoli ...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn... on Tuesday, causing widespread power outages, the national electricity firm said.
The fighting underscored the fragility of a United Nations ...the Oyster Bay money pit... -backed ceasefire reached earlier this month after days of deadly violence between gangs in the capital, beset by turmoil since the fall of dictator Muammar Qadaffy ...The late megalomaniac dictator of Libya, admired everywhere for his garish costumes, funny hats, harem of cutie bodyguards, and incoherent ravings. As far as is known, he is the only person who's ever declared jihad on Switzerland... in 2011.
Tuesday morning's festivities centered on the main road to Tripoli's long-closed international airport, according to witnesses including an AFP journalist.
Libya's National Electricity Company said its network had been damaged, causing a total blackout across the North African nation's south and west.
Fighting which broke out late last month killed at least 63 people and maimed 159 others -- mostly civilians -- before the ceasefire came into effect on September 4.
Last week, the capital's only working airport came under rocket fire just days after reopening following the truce.
Mitiga International Airport, located in a former military base that includes a prison, is currently controlled by the Special Deterrence Forces, a Salafist militia which serves as Tripoli's police force and has been involved in festivities around the capital.
Interior Minister Abdessalam Ashour said Monday that a "regular force" would be tasked with securing the airport.
U.N. envoy Ghassan Salame later reported 14 ceasefire violations around Tripoli, but sought to play them down, saying the deal had been "generally respected."
Tripoli's main airport has been out of action since it was severely damaged by similar festivities in 2014.
Since Qadaffy's fall in 2011, oil-rich Libya has been rocked by violence between dozens of gangs vying for control of its cities and vast oil resources.
A U.N.-brokered agreement signed in Morocco in December 2015 established the Government of National Accord (GNA) in a bid to ease the chaos.
But deep divisions remain between the GNA and rivals including military strongman Khalifa Haftar ...Self-proclaimed Field Marshal, served in the Libyan army under Muammar Qadaffy, and took part in the coup that brought Qadaffy to power in 1969. He became a prisoner of war in Chad in 1987. While held prisoner, he and his fellow officers formed a group hoping to overthrow Qadaffy. He was released around 1990 in a deal with the United States government and spent nearly two decades in the United States, gaining US citizenship. In 1993, while living in the United States, he was convicted in absentia of crimes against the Jamahiriya and sentenced to death. Haftar held a senior position in the anti-Qadaffy forces in the 2011 Libyan Civil War. In 2014 he was commander of the Libyan Army when the General National Congress (GNC) refused to give up power in accordance with its term of office. Haftar launched a campaign against the GNC and its Islamic fundamentalist allies. His campaign allowed elections to take place to replace the GNC, but then developed into a civil war. Guess you can't win them all... , who is based in eastern Libya and backs a competing authority.
The GNA last week announced a series of measures to secure the capital and curb the influence of militias over state institutions and banks.

[AlAhram] Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed in Cairo on Tuesday the latest developments in Paleostine as well the Paleostinian reconciliation process with Azzam El-Ahmed, the leading Fatah party member and head of its delegation in the national reconciliation talks.
In a statement following the meeting, the foreign ministry said El-Ahmed discussed with Shoukry the latest developments that are affecting the future of the grinding of the peace processor, which include the Jerusalem situation and the UNRWA crisis.
Shoukry renewed Egypt's commitment to support all of the legal and historical rights of the Paleostinian people, including the establishment of an independent Paleostinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
El-Ahmed also expressed his appreciation for Egypt's continuous efforts to support the Paleostinian cause and finding ways to deal with the recent challenges, stressing at the same time on the importance of the Jerusalem and Paleostinian refugee issues.
Shoukry also discussed with El-Ahmed the efforts of Fatah party and the Paleostinian authority to end the rift while the Paleostinian official praised Egypt's role in the reconciliation.
[AnNahar] Paleostinian factions on Tuesday jugged I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece! notorious runaway Bahaa Hujeir in the al-Tireh neighborhood in the Ein el-Hellhole Paleostinian refugee camp, the National News Agency said.
"He is accused of belonging to the (al-Qaeda-linked) Abdullah Azzam Brigades ... Leb's current al-Qaeda affiliate, named after a guy whose car the current head of al-Qaeda had boomed... and has been handed over to Lebanese Army intelligence agents," NNA added.
TV networks said Hujeir is suspected of having ties to Mouein Abu Dahr, one of two jacket wallahs who attacked the Iranian embassy in Beirut in November 2013.
"The security operation carried out by the Intelligence Directorate required weeks of planning, follow-up, surveillance and security maneuvers," al-Jadeed TV reported.
"He was the mufti of the Abdullah Azzam Brigades and had been hiding in the camp for several years amid several attempts by his father to hand him over to Lebanese authorities," the TV network added.
Al-Jadeed also published a picture showing Hujeir and Abu Dahr along with a number of young men "most of whom were later involved in suicide kabooms."
[IsraelTimes] Two other Paleostinians were killed in Arclight airstrike near the border late Monday after they appeared to place a suspicious object near fence
Two Paleostinians were reportedly killed by Israeli fire in festivities along the Israel-Gazoo border Tuesday evening, according to the Hamas, one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbung millipede,-run health ministry in the coastal enclave.
The two men were killed during fresh protests near the Erez checkpoint between Gazoo and Israel, the scene of regular confrontation between stone-throwing youths and Israeli soldiers in recent months.
There was no immediate comment from the army about the festivities that came just after the start of the Yom Kippur holiday in Israel.
The festivities came after two Gazooks were killed in an Israeli strike near the border fence with the enclave, the ministry said early Tuesday.
The Israel Defense Forces had earlier said Monday night that its aircraft targeted Paleostinians who approached the fence and placed what the military said was a suspicious object.
According to Paleostinian sources, the incident took place east of Khan Younis, in the southern Strip.
On Monday, thousands gathered on Gazoo’s Mediterranean beach, near the fence separating the territory from Israel. Some activists sailed in small fishing boats near the fence, flying the Paleostinian flag. Israeli gunboats shot around the boats. Israel said some protesters on land burned tear gas and threw stones, and troops fired tear gas and live rounds.
[IsraelTimes] Cops say assailant knocked a Jewish man to the ground, ran at them with sharp object, outside the Old City just after start of fast day
A Paleostinian attempted to carry out a stabbing attack outside Jerusalem’s Old City on Tuesday evening, and was rubbed out by Israeli police, Israeli and Paleostinian officials said.
An Israeli police statement reported "an attempted stabbing attack" near Damascus Gate, saying "a police unit at the spot neutralized the suspect," with the Paleostinian Authority’s health ministry saying it was informed of the death of a civilian by gunshots.
According to police, the attacker ran at a Jewish man and knocked him over onto the ground; he then "continued running toward the coppers while waving a sharp object and trying to harm them."
The assailant was a 26-year-old from the Qalandiya refugee camp outside Jerusalem, who was in Israel illegally, according to the Haaretz website.
Police did not say if anyone else was harmed in the incident. It occurred just after sunset on Tuesday, as Jews began observing Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the Jewish calendar.
"The widespread deployment of police in Jerusalem and their alertness prevented an attack that could have ended with harsh results," police said.
Earlier Tuesday Police placed in durance vile Please don't kill me! five Moslem activists on the Temple Mount and accused them of trying to obstruct a group of Jewish visitors touring the flashpoint Jerusalem holy site.
Tensions are often increased around Jewish holidays, which often see an uptick in the number of Jewish visitors to the site.
According to the police and video from the scene, the five suspects belong to the al-Aqsa Youth organization and had blocked a group of Jewish religious visitors.
"Police asked them several times not to disturb the public order and not to interfere with the proper functioning of the visits, but they did not respond," a police spokesperson said in a statement.
Video from the incident released by the left-wing Ir Amim organization showed police scuffling with a group of Moslems on the compound, which houses the Dome of the Rock and the al-Aqsa Mosque and is known as the Haram al-Sharif in Arabic.
According to Ir Amim, police had tried to move two people who work for the Waqf Islamic endowment, which administers the site, from a path where the Jewish visitors had been walking.
A Waqf spokesperson said four people were maimed in the fighting.
The spokesperson accused the police of "assaulting ...Waqf officials, mosque guards and worshipers," the official Paleostinian Authority news outlet Wafa reported.
According to the prevailing status quo at the site, Jews are allowed to visit but not pray there. Visits by religious Jews are closely guarded by a police escort and Waqf representatives generally also follow the groups closely.
Police said earlier in the week that they would beef up their presence in the Old City for Yom Kippur and the Moslem holy day of Ashura, which falls the next day.
Shabab al-Aksa is a religious organization and is seen as Hamas’s long-arm at the Temple Mount. The organization was outlawed in August 2011, and in November 2016, it was declared by Defense Minister Avigdor Liberman to be a terrorist organization. Members of the organizations were active in violent clashes with police and visitors on the Temple Mount in recent years.
[IsraelTimes] Hans-Georg Maassen downplays far-right attacks; said his agency had no reliable evidence that foreigners were ’hunted’ down in the streets ‐ a term Merkel used
The head of Germany’s domestic intelligence agency lost his job Tuesday after his remarks downplaying anti-migrant violence became a battleground between Chancellor Angela Merkel ...chancellor of Germany and the impetus behind Germany's remarkably ill-starred immigration program. Merkel used to be referred to by Germans as Mom. Now they make faces at her for inundating the country with Moslems .. and her conservative critics.
The ouster of Hans-Georg Maassen is the latest political aftershock resulting from the influx of more than a million refugees into Germany since 2015, which has boosted right-wing populism in Germany and beyond.
Critics have long questioned whether Maassen, who took charge of the BfV spy agency in 2012, was still suitable for the post over his handling of the 2016 Berlin Christmas market attack and his contacts with the far-right Alternative for Germany party.
Maassen’s decision to openly contradict Merkel in an interview with the mass-circulation daily Bild this month appears to have sealed his fate.
Responding to violent right-wing protests following the killing of a German man, allegedly by migrants colonists, in the eastern city of Chemnitz, Maassen said his agency had no reliable evidence that foreigners were "hunted" down in the streets ‐ a term Merkel had used.
He added that "according to my cautious evaluation, there are good reasons for thinking that it is deliberate misinformation, possibly in order to distract the public from the murder in Chemnitz."
Maassen provided no evidence to back up his assertion, but his comments were seized upon by the far-right Alternative for Germany party, which called him "a very good top civil servant who had the courage to criticize Merkel’s completely failed asylum policy" and now faces a "witch hunt."
Merkel’s coalition partners, the center-left Social Democrats, accused Maassen of downplaying apparent anti-migrant violence and called for him to be fired .
For a senior civil servant to publicly wade into such a politically sensitive issue would normally have meant swift career death, but Maassen’s direct boss ‐ Interior Minister Horst Seehofer ‐ initially backed the spy chief.
Seehofer has regularly sparred with his conservative ally Merkel on migration since 2015, when he was one of the most prominent critics of her decision to keep open Germany’s borders as hundreds of thousands of asylum-seekers trekked across the Balkans.
In a short statement following three-way talks Tuesday between Merkel, Seehofer and the head of the Social Democrats, the government said Maassen will be moved to a new job within the Interior Ministry and will be replaced at the spy agency.
Maassen may be out of the firing line for now, but the 55-year-old will likely remain influential behind the scenes within Germany’s security apparatus. The government statement noted that Seehofer "values his expertise in questions of public safety" and observers say the new job comes with a hefty pay rise.
Angela Merkel's government on Tuesday removed domestic spy chief Hans-Georg Maassen from office, transferring him to a different post to defuse an explosive row over immigration and the far right that once more rocked the German chancellor's fragile coalition.
"Mr Maassen will become state secretary in the interior ministry," Merkel and the leaders of her coalition parties announced in a statement after crisis talks.
The face-saving compromise lets Merkel's fourth-term government live to see another day, after her Social Democratic coalition partners had insisted on Maassen's departure as head of the BfV intelligence service, against the wishes of Interior Minister Horst Seehofer from her Bavarian CSU sister party.
In his senior new role, essentially a promotion, Maassen will not be responsible for supervising the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV), the party leaders stressed in their statement.
Maassen has rejected accusations that he has supported AfD lawmakers with early access to unpublished data and advice on how to avoid surveillance by his office.
The conflict over Maassen's fate once more highlighted the deep chasms within Merkel's coalition.
On one level, both major parties, the CDU and SPD, are distrustful partners stuck in a political marriage of convenience after the AfD, a one-time fringe party, poached millions of their voters in last year's elections.
But the rift is deepest between Merkel and Seehofer, whose own political future hangs in the balance as his CSU braces for potentially massive losses to the AfD in Bavarian state elections next month.
Seehofer recently labeled the migration issue "the mother of all problems" in German politics -- a comment read by many as a veiled reference to Merkel's nickname "Mutti", or Mummy.
An Nahar backgrounder on Hans-Georg Maassen can be seen here.

Ousted? He fell UP the ladder.
He was ousted from his position.
If a hard leftist succeeds him this is battlespace preparation for a ban of the AfD.
Maassen said his agency had no reliable evidence that foreigners were "hunted" down in the streets ‐ a term Merkel had used.
He added that "according to my cautious evaluation, there are good reasons for thinking that it is deliberate misinformation, possibly in order to distract the public from the murder in Chemnitz."
Maasen's assessment is shared by Saxony's state PM, Chemnitz' local mainstream newspaper and the local prosecutor.
Maassen provided no evidence to back up his assertion,
The video in question was published by an Antifa outlet under a misleading title. It doesn't show the alleged 'manhunt.'

ISIS began their assault on Monday morning by attempting to overpower the troops of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces (NDF) along the road near the large hilltop of Tal Barakat.
Following a fierce battle that lasted for at least four hours, the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces were able to fully repel the Islamic State attack, leaving many terrorist combatants dead in the process.
According to a military source in Sweida city, the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces launched a swift counter-assault shortly after the failed Islamic State attack.
The source added that the Syrian Arab Army and National Defense Forces are now attempting to advance at two different axes in the al-Safa region.

Good to know Russia Today is keeping track of such things ...
[AlMasdar] USS ‘Harry S. Truman’ is crossing the Atlantic after leaving the US east coast following last week’s drills. The movement of the carrier, used during the Middle East mission in April, comes in the wake of US threats to Damascus.
Data provided by the US Naval Institute (USNI) on Monday showed the ship in the Atlantic roughly over 1,000km west of Ireland’s southern coast.
The previous position of the ship reported by the USNI the week before was not far from the US east coast. The aircraft carrier group with 6,500 sailors left its base in Norfolk and took part in “sustainment operations and carrier qualifications in the Atlantic” just over a week ago.
The warship’s Atlantic exercise comes after the White House warned earlier this month that it would respond “swiftly and appropriately” if the Syrian government used chemical weapons in its fight to secure Idlib.
That warning echoed an earlier vow by US National Security Advisor John Bolton that the US would “respond very strongly” if Syrian President Bashar Assad used chemical weapons “again.”
That comment came after the US and its allies accused Syria of being behind an alleged chemical weapons attack in the town of Douma in April. The US, UK, and France launched joint missile strikes on Syrian targets in response. Russia, however, insists the alleged attack was staged by the rebel-linked White Helmets.
The journey of USS ‘Harry S. Truman’ comes after a trip to the Middle East in April, shortly after the US first pointed the finger at Damascus for the alleged chemical attack in Douma.
The US Navy touts the USS ‘Harry S. Truman’ as the “finest aircraft carrier in the fleet,” stating that it has a wide range of mission capabilities, including maritime security operations, crisis response and counter-terrorism operations.

[Breitbart] Washington Post Associate Editor Bob Woodward warned that revealing the sources for his book Fear: Trump in the White House "might get somebody killed" during a Monday interview on C-SPAN’s Washington Journal.
Woodward was asked ‐ via a question posed on Twitter ‐ about a possible subpoena of his notes and recording from special counsel Robert Mueller or the Justice Department:
I obviously hope it doesn’t happen, and I expect it not to happen, simply because I deal with lots of very sensitive national security issues and debates. I’ve done this for now 47 years and in nine presidencies ‐ and tried to provide as much information in the book, but not going so far as to disclose sources and methods to harm operations essential to the security of this country or that might get somebody killed or get some source blown.

Why doesn't he retire.

Maybe he is just hyping his book to sell more copies. I'd worry more about the left than the conservative side. They are the ones who are violence prone.

A convenient excuse. If they're so afraid, why did they even talk to Woodward? I mean, would any rational person who fears for his or her life entrust such secrets with an old hack like Woodward?

“They wuz naught but poor, well-armed fishermen, Effendi, hired for the day to smuggle cargo for the Iranians.”
[AlMasdar] At least 18 Yemeni fishermen were killed, today, after a Saudi Coalition warship targeted their boats off the coast of Hodeidah.
According to the Saba News Agency, the Saudi Coalition targeted the Yemeni fishing boats near the al-Khokhah District, which is where the strategic port is located.
This latest attack by the Saudi Coalition comes as their allied forces prepare to storm the Houthi ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The Yemeni government has accused the Houthis of having ties to the Iranian government, which wouldn't suprise most of us. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews ... positions around the Hodeidah Governorate.
Thus far, the Saudi-backed forces have managed to score new advances in the Kilo area; however, since Houthi reinforcements arrived, the latter has been able to reclaim several points they lost.
That’ll make life interesting on both sides of the border.
[KhaamaPress] The Pak Prime Minister Imran Khan ... aka Taliban Khan, who ain't the sharpest bulb on the national tree... has said all Pakistain-born Afghan and Bangladeshi refugees would be granted Pak nationality.
Imran Khan made the remarks during his maiden visit to Bloody Karachi ...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous... city on Sunday.
Calling it a established practice in countries around the world, Imran Khan said Afghans whose children have been raised and born in Pakistain will be granted citizenship.
He said the refugees have been unable to find decent legal jobs or get a quality which eventually forces them to indulge in criminal activities.
The Pak Prime Minister vowed that he will instruct his staff to make efforts without further delay for offering passports and National Identity Cards to the refugees who have come from Afghanistan and whose children are raised and born in Pakistain.
According to reports, millions of Afghan refugees are still based in Pakistain out of which around 1.5 million legally reside in the country.
According to the survey reports by the United Nations ...boodling on the grand scale... , at least 60 percent of Afghan refugees were either born in Pakistain or were minors when their parents migrated to the country.

Kunar is Haqqani country..... of Afghanistan, leaving a number of Lions of Islam dead or maimed.
The local officials in Kunar said the operations were conducted late on Sunday night in the vicinity of Watapur district.
Provincial Security Chief Amir Mohammad Zaman confirmed the raid and said at least three ISIS Khurasan Lions of Islam were killed during the raid and two others were incarcerated Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please! He said a commander of the terror group identified as Abuzar was among those killed during the operations.
In the meantime, the 201st Silab Corps of the Afghan Military in the East said the U.S. forces based in Afghanistan carried out Arclight airstrikes using unmanned aerial vehicles, targeting the ISIS Lions of Islam in Watapur district that left at least two dead.
The anti-government armed bad boy groups including ISIS Khurasan loyalists have not commented regarding the report so far.

Two years for someone how attempted to let a group of children burn in a Synagogue. And then no deportation because Israel could possibly harm him. Sweden is such a generous country.
[Telegraph] A court in Sweden ruled that a Palestinian man found guilty of throwing a Molotov cocktail at a synagogue cannot be deported to the Occupied Palestinian Territories, prompting a sharp rebuke from Israel.
The Court of Appeal for Western Sweden ruled that Feras Alnadim's "fundamental human rights" would be threatened because he would be at risk of reprisals. And what country have said they will execute him?
The court cited Israel’s "potential interest in the case" and "the insecure situation at the border and in the territory".
Alnadim, 22, was sentenced to two years in prison in June, as one of three men, two Palestinian and one Syrian, found guilty of firebombing a synagogue in Gothenburg on December 9.
Some 20 Jewish teenagers were celebrating together in the building when the firebomb was thrown, but no one was injured. The three men were identified from security camera footage and arrested shortly afterwards.
In its judgement, the appeal court said that as the attack had taken place only a few days after Donald Trump, the US president, announced the US embassy’s move to Jerusalem, saying it was clearly "intended as a revenge attack against Israel". This justified everything! I can't believe he even had to go to prison!
Swedes are too nice.
When you are nice to nice people, you get a nice society and everyone wins. Swedes are nice people and assume everyone else is nice so have let in lots of refugees. Unfortunately not all of them are nice.
When you are nice to nasty people, they see it as weakness and are nastier.

[Daily Caller] Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham of South Carolina questioned who financed the polygraph test that Christine Blasey Ford reportedly took to corroborate her allegations of sexual assault against Judge Brett Kavanaugh.
"If Ms. Ford really did not want to come forward, never intended to come forward, never planned to come forward, why did she pay for a polygraph in August?" Graham asked Monday on Fox News’s "Hannity." "And why did she hire a lawyer in August if she never intended to do what she’s doing?"
"And who paid for it?" Graham continued. Who or what agency conducted the polygraph? Questions and answers? What were the questions? What were the answers ?

Feinstein and Attorney Katz are both aware of the jurisdictional and statute of limitations issues tying the FBI's hands and are using them as a lame excuse to wiggle Prof. Ford out from testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee.
This is so blatantly obvious that it's insulting to anyone with knowledge of the law and the FBI's investigative limitations. In layman's term , this case is dead except for the testimony of Kavanaugh and Ford.

Kavangh did not pay for it or it would be the only thing on the news and Internet so why investigate?

Why would Ford take a polygraph if this thing were not planned some time ago. Anticipation that people would question her veracity? The timing was done to do maximum damage. People in the street (or diners) interviews would indicate that people get what's going on, that it is all political.

1. Debra Katz, who is currently representing Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who accused Brett Kavanugh of committing sexual assault 36 years ago is a major donor to Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and the DNC, according to public records.
2. Ralph Blasey III, Christine Ford’s brother was formerly employed at the D.C. offices of Baker & Hostetler LLP. That’s the same firm that made payments over over half a million dollars to Fusion GPS for the Crooked-Hillary-funded phony dossier.
3. Debra Katz is Vice Chair of the Project on Government Oversight, which is funded by George Soros and his leftist-extremist Open Society Foundation.

They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems.... is behind the accident," the source added.

[AlMasdar] (2:45 P.M.) – Turkey plans to increase their military presence in the Idlib province of Syria, as they prepare to implement the demilitarized zone that was agreed upon in Sochi on Monday.
According to Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Turkey is seeking to send troops to additional parts of Idlib, including the provincial capital.
“We will have 12 observation points in Idlib. However, we need to send additional troops there,” the minister said at a press conference in Ankara broadcasted by the NTV television channel.
The Turkish military had previously sent troops to the Idlib Governorate in response to the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) buildup.
However, they are now seeking more troops to deploy to the upcoming demilitarized zone in the Idlib Governorate.
[AlMasdar] (4:45 P.M.) – Press Secretary for Russian President Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov stated in Moscow on Monday that the loss of a Russian IL-20 jet over Syria would “not affect it in any way” the agreement reached between Russia and Turkey over the Syrian demilitarisation zone.
“This is an important ground-breaking agreement, a lifechanging one, regarding the future of Syria. It confirmed that Moscow and Ankara are able to reach a compromise and effective decisions according to the goal, which is to settle [the conflict] through diplomacy,” Peskov said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Monday that Russia and Turkey have agreed to establish a demilitarised zone in Idlib by 15 October, along the contact line of the armed opposition and the Syrian army.
[AlMasdar] (6:45 P.M.) – The Russian and Turkish forces are developing a new security system in the Idlib Governorate, Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu said in a board meeting today.
“Our Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin and Turkish President Mr. Erdogan held talks yesterday as part of efforts to resolve the situation in the Syrian Idlib de-escalation zone. The talks also involved defense ministers, foreign ministers and general staff chiefs,” he said.
“Following long negotiations, the parties agreed on a decision, which makes it possible for us to say that the construction of a new security system in the Idlib de-escalation zone begins today,” Shoigu added.
He pointed out that a memorandum on stabilizing the situation in Idlib, signed by Russia and Turkey, “implies that by October 10, heavy weapons must be withdrawn from the demilitarized zone, which will be 15 to 20 kilometers wide.”
“In addition, all the radical groups will have to leave the zone by October 15. That includes the ISIL [the former name of the Islamic State terror group – TASS], Jabhat al-Nusra [both outlawed in Russia – TASS] and those on the United Nations’ list of terrorist organizations,” the Russian defense chief said.
“Civilians both in Aleppo and the Idlib de-escalation zone should have access to this highway before the end of the year,” he added.
[AlMasdar] (7:10 P.M.) – All designated terrorist groups in the Idlib Governorate will have until October 15th to leave the new demilitarized zone that was established by presidents Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Russian Minister of Defense Sergei Shoigu stated during a board meeting.
“In addition, all the radical groups will have to leave the zone by October 15. That includes the ISIL [the former name of the Islamic State terror group – TASS], Jabhat al-Nusra [both outlawed in Russia – TASS] and those on the United Nations’ list of terrorist organizations,” Shoigu said.
The Russian Minister of Defense also said that all heavy weapons must be removed from the demilitarized zone.
It is not clear how the Russian and Turkish forces plan on forcing the terrorist groups to leave these areas; however, it is not very likely that Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham and the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) will accept this.
[AlMasdar] (11:30 P.M.) – Two of the largest jihadist groups in northwest Syria have allegedly rejected the Idlib agreement that was established by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Monday in Sochi.
According to opposition activists via social media, both Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham (formerly Jaysh Al-Fateh) and the Turkestan Islamic Party (TIP) have rejected the Idlib demilitarized zone agreement.
While nothing is official, it is expected that these jihadist groups will not accept the Idlib demilitarized zone agreement because it labels both of them as terrorist organizations.
With the Turkestan Islamic Party’s large presence in the Jisr Al-Shughour District of Idlib and the Jabal Al-Akrad region of Latakia, it is very likely that the Russian government will pressure the Turkish regime to either eliminate this group or let the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) do so.
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Algeria’s defense ministry on Tuesday announced its air force chief has been sacked, amid a broad shake-up of the country’s military hierarchy.
Armed Forces Chief of Staff Ahmed Gaid Salah was to chair a ceremony on Tuesday at which major-general Hamid Boumaiza would assume the role of air force chief, the ministry said.
The event would see Boumaiza "replace major-general Abdelkader Lounes who has been retired," it said in a statement.
The announcement comes a day after Lounes’ dismissal was reported by Ennahar TV.
The private channel also reported the sacking of the commander of ground forces, the powerful general Ahcene Tafer, which has not been confirmed by the defense ministry.
Further unconfirmed dismissals came at the start of September, when according to Ennahar the air force chief of staff and the head of the air defense force were fired.
The recent shake-up comes weeks after President Abdelaziz Bouteflika ... 10th president-for-life of Algeria. He was elected in 1999 and is currently on his third or fourth term. Maybe it's the fifth.... initiated an overhaul of Algeria’s military.
The commander of the national gendarmerie was sacked at the start of July, along with the heads of three out of six military districts.
That followed the president’s firing in late June of Abdelghani Hamel, the powerful director general of Algeria’s police force.
There have also been unconfirmed media reports of the replacement of the head of the central management of army security and the army’s inspector general.

[SFGate] Former FBI deputy director Andrew McCabe, who was fired from the FBI after becoming a frequent target of criticism from the president, is joining the growing list of ex-government officials to publish Trump-related books.
"The Threat: How the FBI Protects America in the Age of Terror and Trump" will publish Dec. 4, McCabe's publisher, St. Martin's Press, announced Tuesday. The book will offer McCabe's "candid account of his career and an impassioned defense of the FBI's agents, integrity and independence in protecting America and upholding our Constitution," the publisher said.
"I wrote this book because the president's attacks on me symbolize his destructive effect on the country as a whole," McCabe said in a statement. "He is undermining America's safety and security, and eroding public confidence in its institutions. His attacks on the most crucial institutions of government, and on the professionals who serve within them, should make every American stand up and take notice."
McCabe, who spent 22 years in the FBI, has become something of a lightning rod in the political battles over the FBI and the probe of whether Trump's campaign interfered in the 2016 election.

[Wash Times] About 1.7 million chickens have been killed in flooding from Florence as rising North Carolina rivers swamped at least 60 farm buildings where the animals were being raised for market, according to a major poultry producer.
Sanderson Farms said Tuesday the losses occurred at independent farms that supply its poultry processing plants. The company said its facilities suffered no major damage, but supply disruptions and flooded roadways had caused shutdowns at some plants.
In addition, about 30 farms near Lumberton have been isolated by flood waters, hampering the delivery of feed to animals. The lack of food could cause additional birds to die if access isn’t restored quickly, the company said.
The N.C. Pork Council says some hogs also may have died when farms flooded, but that mortality figures are not yet available. The pork industry trade group says farmers have been working before and after the storm to move at-risk animals to higher ground. The industry lost about 2,800 hogs during flooding from Hurricane Matthew in 2016.
