Four people including judge killed in Milan court shooting
[SMH.AU] Four people, including a judge, died and one person was maimed on Thursday after a gunman opened fire inside Milan's court of justice, in a shocking incident that raised questions about lax security at the site.

Two people who suffered cardiac arrest were declared dead after being hospitalised, and a third body was found inside the Palace of Justice with no apparent wounds, local emergency services said in a statement.

A fourth victim, taken to hospital in a critical condition, died during surgery, according to the ANSA news agency. Emergency services said a second person was hospitalised, but was not in a life-threatening condition.
An Nahar adds the following details, and a good deal more of no particular interest:
An armed man on trial for bankruptcy fraud bumped off a judge and lawyer in a Milan court Thursday in an attack which left three dead and sent shockwaves through Italia.

The man, named as Claudio Giardiello, 57, escaped on a scooter but was captured by police in Vimercate, a town some 25 kilometers (15 miles) outside Milan.

USAF MG reprimanded over A-10 'treason' remark
(Reuters) - Air Force MG James Post III has been formally reprimanded and removed from his job for telling a group of officers that talking to Congress in a bid to block retirement of the A-10 Warthog amounted to "treason," the Air Force said on Friday.

In his own written account, Post said he told the group in question the Air Force didn't want to get rid of the plane but needed to because of budget constraints. He acknowledged using the word "treason."

Attempting to prevent members of the military from lawfully communicating with Congress is a violation of the U.S. Code as well as Defense Department directives.

Apple Valley horse thief gets severe beat down by 11 deputies.
[CBS] The San Bernardino County Sheriff ordered an internal investigation Thursday into an arrest caught on NBC Los Angeles' NewsChopper4 video that showed deputies beating a suspect when they caught up to him following a wild desert chase on horseback.

Aerial footage showed the man falling off the horse he was suspected of stealing during the pursuit in San Bernardino County Thursday afternoon.
Hey Leonard, come around again so I can zoom in. I think that poor bastid just took one in the nut sack.
Mom of Man Beaten After Horse Chase Slams Deputies

He then appeared to be stunned with a Taser by a sheriff's deputy and fall to the ground with his arms outstretched. Two deputies immediately descended on him and appeared to punch him in the head and knee him in the groin, according to the footage, reviewed several time by NBC4.

The group surrounding the man grew to 11 sheriff's deputies.

Its kindof combining aspects of kidnapping and auto theft.

Horses don't just happen. First off, they are expensive, then you have feed, water, medicine, the daily chore of food and water, stable cleaning, and breaking, training - especially if it is a work horse. As all this happens, a person becomes attached to the horse (if not you are not a horse person and should not have horses like you would a child. I know you dog people understand that paragraph.

War on 2nd Amendment continues: California Officially Bans use of Lead Bullets
[Daily Caller] Environmental activists cheered the California Fish and Game Commission's decision to adopt regulations banning the use of lead ammunition for hunting throughout the Golden State.
Federal Regulations, 'death by a thousand cuts.'
In a unanimous vote, the Commission opted to phase out lead bullets, which hunters groups are calling a de-facto ban on hunting in the state. Environmentalists, on the other hand, are saying these regulations will save California Condors and Golden Eagles from getting lead poisoning.

The lead bullet ban comes from legislation signed into law by Gov. Jerry Brown, a Democrat, in 2013 that required lead bullets to be phased out of the state by no later than 2019. The bill was signed after environmentalists and animal rights activists convinced state politicians that lead bullets poisoned animals that condors and eagles fed on -- causing them to be harmed in turn.

A bill that designated "lead-free" hunting zones was signed into law by former Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2007. By 2008, California hunters could not use ammunition containing more than one percent lead by weight within range of California condors.
I, Arnold 'The Terminator' make millions of USD making movies about guns that fire thousands of rounds per minute, but that is ok. This is Amerika, I love it.
But the Commission's decision Thursday makes California the first state to completely ban lead bullets for hunting. Hunting groups argue the ban is intended to stop hunting altogether in the state because ammo prices will skyrocket.

Statue of Cecil Rhodes removed from UCT and land he donated.
[Breitbart London] A statue of Cecil Rhodes at the University of Cape Town has been removed after students launched an uncompromising campaign to have the great man expunged from history.

The statue of the British businessman, mining magnate, philanthropist and politician has stood in the grounds of the university since the 1920s. Rhodes donated the land on which the institution is built and provided much of its initial wealth.

Protesters threw red paint on the bronze and danced on the plinth as the statue was lifted off on Friday. "It was a symbol of institutionalized racism," said Ramahiba Mahapha, the leader of students' representative council.

Students began a hashtag campaign (#Rhodesmustfall) earlier in the year and have repeatedly vandalized the monument with spray paint and buckets of human excrement, forcing the university management to board it up in March.
Rhodes is the first to go. Next is die 'oud Krokodil' Paul Kruger standbeel (statue).

Historic Encounter With Cuba's Castro Awaits Champ In Panama
[Huffpoo] PANAMA CITY (AP) -- Turning the page on a half-century of hostility, President Champ signaled Thursday he will soon remove Cuba from the U.S. list of state sponsors of terrorism, boosting hopes for improved ties as he prepared for a historic encounter with Cuban President Raul Castro.

Hours before his arrival in Panama for a regional summit, the Champ said the Foggy Bottom had finished its review of Cuba's presence on the list, a stain on the island nation's pride and a major stumbling block for efforts to mend U.S.-Cuba ties. A top senator confirmed that the agency had recommended removing Cuba from the list, all but ensuring action by the president within days.

"We don't want to be imprisoned by the past," the Champ said during a visit to Kingston, Jamaica. "When something doesn't work for 50 years, you don't just keep on doing it. You try something new."
"Something new".... yes indeed! That's precisely what we hope to accomplish immediately following the 2016 presidential.

Mayor of Venezuelan capital formally accused of coup attempt
[Iran Press TV] The mayor of the Venezuelan capital city of Caracas has formally been accused of attempting a US-funded coup d'état against the South American country's President Nicolas Maduro.

"The prosecutors' office on Tuesday formally charged Caracas mayor and opposition member Antonio Ledezma, who was nabbed
Please don't kill me!
February 19, with allegedly supporting groups plotting to use violent acts to destabilize the country," the office said in a statement.

Chief Prosecutor of Caracas Luis Orta accused Ledezma, 59, of conspiracy and planning the coup with a number of unnamed individuals, the statement added.

Since his arrest, Ledezma has been imprisoned at the Ramo Verde military prison along with fellow Maduro opponent Leopoldo Lopez. The latter has been charged with provoking anti-government protests that resulted in the death of 43 people between February and May 2014.

Caracas has repeatedly stated that the opposition seeks to launch a coup in Venezuela with the backing of Washington.

Court springs Ukrainian soldier involved in deadly accident

A Ukrainian officer identified as Maryana Raka, involved in March's deadly traffic accident that killed a local child, was released by a Ukrainian appeals court on bail, according to Russian language news accounts.

A Ukrainian MTLB armored personnel carrier missed a turn in Konstantinovka March 16th and ran into a Ukrainian family, killing an eight year old girl and wounding two adults. At the time, it was widely reported the occupants of the MTLB, three Ukrainian soldiers, were drunk.

The accident sparked a brief riot that night which included several burned vehicles.

According to a news report in regnum.ru, a military prosecutor for the Zaparozhe military area, Mikail Ivlev called the decision by an appeals court in Zaparozhe, "unfounded and totally immoral."

The driver of the MTLB, identified as Roman Karpinets, was remanded to custody, meaning he will begin to serve his sentence.

As for the rioters, according to the head of the Ukrainian Donetsk Interior Ministry, Vyacheslav Abroskin, seven people were detained Thursday by Ukrainian authorities for their roles in the riots.

Rebels claim Ukrainians massing troops

For a map, click here. You can enlarge the map, if you open it separately.

Rebel commanders and Russian military analysts expect Ukrainian forces to launch a new offensive in the next ten days, according to Russian language news accounts.

Deputy defense minister for the Donetsk republic Eduard Basurin said that the Ukrainians are massing troops at several locations including Artemovsk, Kostantinovka, Dzerzhinsk, and Peski, among others.

Artemovsk and Kostantinovka are immediately north of the former mouth of the Debaltsevo salient, and before the fall of Debaltsevo were a logistical hub for the Ukrainians supporting their units in Debaltsevo.

Dzerzhinsk is a locality immediately west of Gorlovka, which local rebel commands have been trying to take since last fall.

Peski is a western suburb of Donetsk city.

Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin said in his livejournal account that Volnovakha contains the largest concentration of Ukrainian troops, 15,000 by his estimate, and 250 armored vehicles.

A report by rustoday.info quoted the Deputy Chief of Staff of the 5th Battalion of the Donetsk Republican Guard, identified as Aleksandr Matyushin, as saying that Ukrainian troop concentrations have been spotted near Mariupol.

According to Matyushin, Ukrainian artillery have been hitting rebel targets in Gorlovka and at the Donetsk airport.

According to Matyushin, his command, the Varyag assault company, has been under regular fire from automatic grenade launchers in Peski, while other rebel media claim that small arms fire has been exchanged in northwestern suburbs of Donetsk city.

According to Matyushin, the Ukrainians are planning to launch an attack intended to push rebel forces away from Mariupol "within one or two weeks."

In western press sources, as well as in some rebel media, Mariupol has been considered to be a prime prize for both sides, and both sides expect renewed fighting to take place there.

Shirokino, only a few kilometers east of Mariupol has been the scene of some of the most intense fighting since the February 12th ceasefire, colloquially known as Minsk II. Most of the town has been in rebel hands since September, but units of the Ukrainian Azov battalion have been clinging to the western part of the town for the last three weeks.

According to a news report posted on informnapalm.com, the rebels are unlikely to consider a frontal attack on Mariupol, opting instead for an enveloping attack from Dokuchaevsk, and ending up at Berdyansk. The total distance for such a strike would be close to 100 kilometers, and the total distance between rebel front lines and Berdyansk is about 16 kilometers.

According to a separate rustoday.info report, pro Russian military analyst Vladislav Shurigin said that Ukrainians attempting to hold on to a sliver of western Shirokino, he characterized as window dressing for the press: "an outpost for which the Ukrainians will fight to the last."

Shurigin said that any rebel attack on Mariupol will likely bypass centers of resistance set up by the Ukrainians.

However, Shurgin said that the Debaltsevo operation damaged the Ukrainian operation in southeastern Ukraine so badly, they may not launch offensive operations for the foreseeable future, a view this writer shares.

To date the longest successful offensive strike launched by the rebels has been the coup de main at Logvinovka in the early days for the Debaltsevo campaign, which was a distance of less than ten kilometers.

That attack, which took place overnight and with heavy, constant artillery support, initially totaled a rebel light rifle company and an armored group. According to Ukrainian accounts, the Russian 5th Tank Brigade took a hand in this sub-operation, presumably before being withdrawn toward an area around Krasnii Luch to the east, which was the closest rail hub to the front lines at the time.

The Debaltsevo operation, inasmuch as rebels claim the Ukrainians were hurt badly in that operation, delivered a severe beating to the rebels as well.

Ukrainian military correspondent Dmitri Tymchuk reported on his website that rebels lunched a short range attack on the western Donetsk suburb of Opytnoye on Wednesday, hitting Ukrainian positions with diversionary forces while attacking with their main forces from the flanks.

According to Tymchuk, that attack was driven back by Ukrainian forces deployed nearby with the help of an armored unit. Rebels say Ukrainians have been using tanks as mobile artillery platforms in the last 24 hours.

Opytnoye has been a site for Ukrainian artillery since the Donetsk airport fell to the rebels in February.

Avdievka, yet another suburb of Donetsk city, was attacked by rebel infantry groups.

Tymchuk also said rebel forces near Mariupol have reinforced with two rifle companies and an armored group consisting of seven tanks and 22 armored combat vehicles.

Combat in northern Lugansk

According to Russian language media, Ukrainian forces have been conducting attacks on rebel positions in northern Lugansk. Rebel media claim that the Ukrainians have been firing on rebel positions using tanks south of the Northern Donetsk River near Slavyanoserbsk.

Roman Burko said in his website that rebel positions near Highway T1303 have been reinforced since last Tuesday, and could be a preparation for subsequent rebel operations to capture Artemovsk.

Tymchuk said the rebels recently moved in forces near Artemovsk including three armored combat vehicles and six tanks.

Tymchuk also said that direct firefights have taken place near Krimskoye, which is north of T1303 and on the right bank of the Northern Donetsk River.

In that fight, a rifle group and a BMP-2 platoon took up what appeared to be prepared positions and fired on Ukrainian positions using small arms, 120mm mortar fire and heavy antiaircraft artillery guns.

A Ukrainian counterattack drove the rebels back from the advanced positions.
Elsewhere, according to Tymchuk, rebels have been moving supply vehicles from Russia toward marshalling points near Alchevsk. The vehicle total include 38 vehicles, including 16 fuel tankers and five specialized vehicles.

Rooshuns made up story about dead 10 year old girl
Video at the link
Information war has been a huge part of the Ukraine conflict, with both sides accusing the other of manipulating the media.

With Ukrainian channels off air in the rebel-held Donetsk region, the population there relies entirely on Russian media.

Russian television stations recently report claims that a 10-year-old girl had been killed by shelling.

The BBC News team of Natalia Antelava and Abdujalil Abdurasulov tried to find out what happened to the girl, and discovered that all was not as it seemed.

Ulema support organ transplant as CII chief prevaricates
[DAWN] A grand congregation of religious scholars organised at the Sheikh Zayed Islamic Centre, Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
University, on Wednesday saw almost everyone except the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) leadership clearly in favour of organ transplantation.

Maulana Sherani said the Learned Elders of Islam should delve into whether or not an organ of a Moslem could be transplanted to a non-Moslem; and if an organ of a Moslem was transplanted to a non-Moslem, then would the Moslem's part also be punished on the Day of the Judgement with its non-Moslem owner.
Most of them also praised the Sindh Institute of Urology and Transplantation for saving lives through its organ donation programme.

However,
if you can't be a good example, then you'll just have to be a horrible warning...
CII chairman Maulana Mohammad Khan Sherani, who is known for stirring controversies including the one related to DNA evidence in rape cases, discussed everything but failed to give a clear verdict on organ transplantation. Instead he called upon fellow scholars to research certain matters, which, for him, were mandatory to be settled first.

Maulana Sherani said the Learned Elders of Islam should delve into another issue first that was whether or not an organ of a Moslem could be transplanted to a non-Moslem; and if an organ of a Moslem was transplanted to a non-Moslem, then would the Moslem's part would also be punished on the Day of the Judgement with its non-Moslem owner.

He asked several other questions related to organ transplant, telling religious scholars to investigate the issues further.

Then he answered his own primary question with examples. One of them, he elaborated, was that on the Day of Judgement all living creatures would regain their original body parts on the call of divinity. For this reason, it was to be examined if the donation of an organ was allowed in Islam or not, he said. He spoke at length over thousands of recommendations made by the CII and forwarded to the government for legislation in parliament.

Mufti Munibur Rehman, chairman of the federal government's moon-sighting committee, stuck to the key point of the agenda and clearly said a Moslem's organ could be transplanted to a non-Moslem and vice versa.

"It is my opinion that a Moslem's organ could be transplanted to a non-Moslem or vice versa as the body and organs of humans are not Najis and could be used to save human lives," said the Mufti.

He said different organs of a human body remained alive for a certain period even after death, which could be used and transplanted to another human body to save a life.

"As Maulana Sherani already said," he added, "all parts of Moslems come to the Moslems again on the Day of Judgement."

He said any organ that helped survive a human being through transplantation was in accordance with Islam. "The best human being is the one who serves the most humanity and saving lives through transplantation is great service to humanity," he said after quoting some great scholars.

Jamaat-e-Ulema Pakistain-Noorani president Dr Abul Khair Mohammad Zubair said charity was the deed of prophets and organ transplantation was the greatest charity to save human lives.

"Saving lives can never be against Islam," he said, asking the CII that it was their primary job to save lives through research and recommendations and get it passed through the parliament.

U.N. Vaccinates Syrian Refugee Animals in Lebanon against Goat Plague
Once again the kaffirs contravene Allah's manifest will.
[AnNahar] The U.N. has launched an emergency vaccination campaign against lumpy skin disease and goat plague among animals brought to Leb by refugees fleeing the Syrian conflict, a report said Thursday.

Some of the 1.5 million refugees have brought with them large numbers of un-vaccinated sheep, goats, cattle and other animals, raising concerns over the spread of high impact animal diseases, the U.N.'s food agency said.

The Rome-based Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) said it was carrying out the second phase of "a campaign to immunize as much of the country's livestock as possible, with a target of vaccinating all animals."

"As many as 70,000 cows and around 900,000 sheep and goats could be exposed to trans-boundary diseases if left untreated, according to Leb's ministry for agriculture," the report said.

The campaign aims to reduce the number of animals dying from preventable diseases in rural areas in particular, where natural resources are already strained by the spill-over effects from the humanitarian crisis in Syria.

Some of the animal diseases are highly contagious and can spread extremely rapidly, causing high mortality and morbidity in animals, with serious socio-economic consequences and possible public health repercussions, FAO said.

"The three most prevalent animal diseases detected in Leb include lumpy skin disease, foot-and-mouth disease and peste des petits ruminants, also known as 'goat plague', which is highly contagious," it said.

FAO and the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE) pledged earlier this month to eradicate sheep and goat plague -- which causes fever, mouth sores, diarrhea and often leads to a swift death -- by 2030.

The stress being placed on Leb's "natural resources and food production systems is particularly worrying... with more people than ever before now in need of animal protein and milk," FAO said.

According to the U.N., Leb now has the highest per capita ratio of refugees in the world, accounting for a quarter of the population -- and their arrival has seen unemployment figures double.

The vaccination project -- funded by Britannia's Department for International Development (DFID) -- follows an initial program last year which was credited with stopping any widespread animal disease outbreaks.

Memories Pizza has RE-OPENED! Customers fill it up, NO protesters
[The Right Scoop] I was really afraid that the gay mafia would attack the re-opening of Memories Pizza with Molotov cocktails, but it sounds like they had a great opening with a lot of new customers and no protesters at all.

Here's Rush Limbaugh talking about it:

A northern Indiana pizzeria that closed after its owner said his religious beliefs wouldn't allow him to cater a gay wedding opened Thursday to a full house of friends, regulars and people wanting to show their support.

"It's a relief to get going again and try to get back to normal," said Kevin O'Connor, owner of Memories Pizza.

O'Connor closed the shop for eight days after comments by him and his daughter, Crystal, to a local television station supporting a new religious objections law. The law, which has since been revised, sparked a boycott of Indiana.

O'Connor said the criticism hasn't changed his beliefs. He said gays are welcome in his restaurant in the small, one-traffic-light town of Walkerton, 20 miles southwest of South Bend, but that he would decline to cater a same-sex wedding because it would conflict with his Christian beliefs.

"I'd do the same thing again. It's my belief. It's our belief. It's what we grew up on," he said. "I'm just sorry it comes to this because neither one of us dislike any of those people. I don't hold any grudges."

Government
FCC's net neutrality rules open door to new fee on Internet service
[LATIMES] Recently adopted net neutrality regulations soon could make your monthly Internet bill more complicated — and potentially more expensive.

Every month, consumers pay a small fee on their phone bills for a federal program that uses the money — a total of $8.8 billion raised nationwide last year — to provide affordable access to telecommunications services in rural areas, underserved inner cities and schools.
Money for juicy contracts for campaign contributors.
Now the fee could start appearing on broadband bills too, in a major expansion of the nearly two-decade-old Universal Service Fund program.

It's not clear yet, however, if most consumers would end up paying more in total USF fees than they do now.

In approving the tough rules for online traffic in February, the Federal Communications Commission put broadband in the same regulatory category as phone service, opening the door for the charges.

Memories Pizza announces its plans for that $842,000 you gave them
[CanadaFreePress] "They revealed they are set to share their new fortune with disabled children, a women's help group, firefighters, police trusts, Christian churches, and Washington florist Barronelle Stutzman, 70, who was fined after declaring she would not serve a gay wedding."

You may recall that the elderly florist was slapped with a $1,000 fine last month after she declined to sell flowers for the 2013 wedding of longtime gay customers. A judge ruled that Stutzman, a Christian with deeply-held religious beliefs, violated the Washington state law against discrimination.

As for his religious beliefs and how they may have been influenced by the furor over his pizza parlor's backing of Indiana's recently enacted Religious Freedom Restoration Act, Kevin O'Connor tells The Daily Mail he still feels the same about not supporting a gay marriage celebration.

"'If any child of mine came out as gay and entered into a gay marriage, I would still love them, but Daddy wouldn't be going to the wedding.'"

#2  Seems a lot of 'little' folk are willing to 'die on that hill'. I wonder if the other side understands that when you push too hard, they too will be asked (and then dragooned into a conflagration) if they're willing to 'give the last full measure of devotion'?

Since Marxist suppress real human history, most people don't understand the nature of the Thirty Years War (think Sunni-Shiite) and its effect on the Founders and why they gave such strong support for the 1st Amendment guarantees of Freedom of Religion. That issue has been buried for two hundred years. Someone is stupidly reviving it.
