Afghanistan
Afghan Govt Halts Release of Taliban Prisoners
[ToloNews] The Afghan government on Monday temporarily stopped the release of Taliban
...Arabic for students...
prisoners, saying the Taliban must bring its total number of released security force members to 200, while so far they have only "freed 105."

But following Faisal's announcement, Taliban front man Suhail Shaheen said the group released 53 prisoners of the Afghan government on Monday and the day before in Badghis and Faryab.

The Afghan government contends that although the Taliban has released a higher number of detainees, not all of them are from Afghan government security forces.

The government, according to the National Security Council front man Jawed Faisal, has so far released 1,000 Taliban prisoners.

The NSC front man Faisal said that the Afghan government has made efforts for peace based on the "people’s will" that started with the Kabul conference and continued offering the Taliban a ceasefire.

Faisal said: "On the contrary, the Taliban has not provided any plan for peace so far, has not reduced violence against the Afghan people and has not released prisoners based on the agreement."

The NSC front man said the Taliban "still believe in violence" and they kill the people of Afghanistan every day and have not proceeded with the prisoner release as per the agreement.

According to Faisal, Taliban has released 171 prisoners among whom are 105 are security and defense force members, and the remaining are not members of the Afghan cops.

"The government is committed to resuming the (Taliban) prisoner release when 200 security force members are released (by the Taliban)," Faisal said.

Faisal said that a list was given to the Taliban by the government. He did not mention the total number of the list but said 98 were available, while 610 others -- mentioned in the government list -- were not available, or the Taliban could not provide info on them. This was determined after an exchange between the technical teams of both sides.

"The government wants clarity in this regard" to know whether they have been killed, or have been kept somewhere or have been "sold," Faisal said, adding that this should be made clear to the government, the people, and the international community.

He said that if they have "martyred" the security force members, it will be considered as a war crime.

Faisal said the government is ready to release five Taliban prisoners in exchange for one prisoner that they release — as part of efforts to move the grinding of the peace processor forward.

He added that the Taliban "still have active relations with terrorist groups inside and outside the country," adding that they should cut their ties with regional and international terrorist groups, including those in Pakistain.

"The Afghan government is not obliged to continue the release of prisoners if Taliban stops the process," he added.

#1  OK, since we're well on the way to becoming a banana republic, let's act like it. Nationalize Facebook & TWITter as critical communication networks and make them part of the federal bureaucracy. Then hire Judicial Watch and Project Veritas to oversee the operation and make sure that all aspects of the US Constitution are enforced. If you're a foreigner and want to use it, fine, but you play by our rules.

Encouraging Illegal Aliens To Remain In The US Is A Crime, Supreme Court Rules
[DAILYCALLER] The Supreme Court unanimously upheld a federal statute that forbids encouraging illegal aliens to remain in the U.S. unlawfully in a decision Thursday.

The Supreme Court justices voided an earlier decision by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, which had ruled that a federal anti-harboring statute was unconstitutional on the grounds that it violated the First Amendment by restricting free speech. The ruling by the nation’s highest court Thursday upholds the law.

The Supreme Court not only vacated the appeals court’s decision, but also criticized the judges for "drastically" straying from judicial norms.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a liberal stalwart of the bench, wrote the high court’s opinion.

"[T]he appeals panel departed so drastically from the principle of party presentation as to constitute an abuse of discretion," Ginsburg wrote, and later stated that "a court is not hidebound by the precise arguments of counsel, but the Ninth Circuit’s radical transformation of this case goes well beyond the pale."

#7  #5 SUSANNAH LUTHI, 12/27/2019 A bastion of liberalism in the federal judiciary is slowly turning rightward, threatening Democratic court challenges on everything from abortion to who gets a green card. The Senate confirmation of Lawrence VanDyke and Patrick Bumatay to the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals this month brought to nine the number of appointments President Donald Trump has made to the 29-member bench that serves as the last stop for nearly all legal complaints lodged in nine Western states. Democratic-appointed judges now hold a three-seat majority, compared with 11 at the start of Trump's presidency.

#8  Hope. Change.

Some of our elites' decisions are so unbelievably foolish and destructive that even reliable lefties such as Justices Ginsburg and Sotomayor are willing to call BS on them. Tolerance of illegal immigration is one such policy.

Let's hope a similar reaction happens wrt our mind-bogglingly asinine policy of tying our economy tightly to China's.

Coronavirus: Indian politician warns against buying produce from Muslims
[JPost] - The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), India's current ruling party, reprimanded one of its leaders after a video surfaced of the politician instructing people not to buy vegetables from Muslims amid unsubstantiated fears surrounding the coronavirus spread.

"Keep one thing in mind. I am telling everyone openly. There is no need to buy vegetables from 'miyans' [Muslims]," said Suresh Tiwari a lawmaker from Deoria town, according to Al Jazeera.

...The coronavirus has exacerbated the festering great divide between the country's Hindus and its sizable Muslim minority, many of whom have seen their livelihoods threatened by the establishment of quarantine zones in densely-packed areas like Dharavi. There have been at least 71 confirmed cases in Dharavi.

...Muslim leaders say a belief that the coronavirus is not real has spread in their communities, but that they have been working through mosques to change those perceptions.

Israeli convicted of smuggling supplies to Hamas for tunneling, weapons-making
[IsraelTimes] Michael Peretz found guilty of facilitating transfer of illegal goods to the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. -based terror group, money laundering and tax fraud amounting to millions of dollars.

Of the merchandise allegedly supplied by the men to Hamas between 2013 and 2015, prosecutors said that the pipes were destined for use in the production of rockets, while the concrete enabled the group to rebuild attack tunnels into Israel that were destroyed during the 2014 war.
An Israeli citizen was found guilty Sunday of heading a cross-border smuggling ring that transferred thousands of tons of concrete, piping, metals and electronic equipment directly from Israel to the Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, terror organization in the Gaza Strip.

Michael Peretz, a resident of the Mivtahim agricultural village in the Eshkol region that borders the Strip, was convicted by the Beersheba District Court for a series of crimes that judges said "damaged the security of the state."

Among the charges, Peretz was found guilty of contacting a foreign agent, facilitating the transfer of illegal goods to terror groups, money laundering and tax fraud amounting to millions of dollars. He was, however, cleared of the most serious charge — "aiding a terror group in its war against Israel."

According to allegations released by the Shin Bet security agency after his arrest in 2015, Peretz, along with two other Israelis, set up a front company to cloak the transfer of illegal materials to a Hamas middleman at the Kerem Shalom crossing, who then delivered them directly to the terror group.

Of the merchandise allegedly supplied by the men to Hamas between 2013 and 2015, prosecutors said that the pipes were destined for use in the production of rockets, while the concrete enabled the group to rebuild attack tunnels into Israel that were destroyed during the 2014 war.

In addition to building materials, the gang led by Peretz allegedly transferred millions of shekels’ worth of electronic devices, generators, tracking equipment, engines and communication cables.

Judges said that Peretz knew that the materials he transferred to Gaza were destined for Hamas but continued with the deals because of the high profits he was raking in.

The Kerem Shalom border crossing is one of three crossings from Israel into the coastal strip, which mostly facilitates the transfer of humanitarian aid and medical equipment, as well as the passage of patients from Gaza to Israeli hospitals.

Over the course of the conflict with Israel in 2014, Hamas utilized an elaborate tunnel system underneath the Israeli border to launch raids on IDF soldiers stationed outside the Strip.

Israel allows small quantities of construction materials into the Strip, saying that in Hamas’s hands, large amounts of concrete and piping would be diverted to military projects.

Palestinian indicted for stabbing Israeli woman on Memorial Day
[IsraelTmes] 20-year-old Mahmoud Risha accused of carrying out terror attack, illegal possession of knife and entering Israel illegally
And, it must be noted with approval, he did it while properly masked against spreading the Wuhan flu....
State prosecutors on Monday indicted a 20-year-old Paleostinian man on terror charges for allegedly stabbing an Israeli woman in the central city of Kfar Saba on Memorial Day last month.

According to the indictment filed in the Central District Court, Mahmoud Risha, from the Paleostinian city of Tulkarem,
Tulkarem hosted an Islamic Jihad cell last autumn...
is accused of carrying out a terror attack, illegal possession of a knife and entering Israel illegally.

The prosecution requested that he be detained until the end of legal proceedings.

Risha stabbed the woman on April 28 and was then shot by an armed civilian who was driving by.

"The terrorist, 19, from the West Bank, took out a knife and chased after her. A civilian who lives nearby saw what was happening. He stopped his car and shot up the terrorist," police said at the time.

The woman, 62, was admitted to Kfar Saba’s Meir Medical Center in moderate-to-serious condition, the Magen David Adom ambulance service said.

The Zaka emergency response service said that Risha was taken to Ramat Gan’s Sheba Medical Center with light injuries.

The attack came shortly after Israelis marked Memorial Day with a two-minute siren in honor of fallen soldiers and victims of terrorism.

Cyber attack targets Iranian port near Strait of Hormuz
[Jpost] The Iranian official stated that he did not have any information about the origin of the cyber attack

A cyber attack managed to damage a number of private systems at the Shahid Rajaei port near Bandar Abbas and the Strait of Hormuz in recent days, said Mohammad Rastad, Managing Director of the Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO), to Iran’s ILNA news agency on Sunday.

Allah-Morad Afifi-Pour, Director-General of the PMO of Hormozgan province in southern Iran, initially denied the reports of a cyber attack, but Rastad confirmed that a cyber attack had occurred in a presser on Sunday, according to the Iranian Fars News Agency.

"A recent cyber attack failed to penetrate the PMO’s systems and was only able to infiltrate and damage a number of private operating systems at the ports," said Rastad, according to ILNA.

Rastad stressed that operations had not been disrupted by the attack, despite earlier reports to the contrary.

The PMO head added that the organization is well protected, but still needs to "continuously strengthen and update the layers of protection to minimize the risk of a cyber attack."

Rastad confirmed that the attack was carried out by a foreign entity, according to Fars News Agency.

Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
reported three cyber attacks within one week back in December. At least one of the attacks was allegedly "state-sponsored."

Minister of Communications and Information Technology Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi claimed that two of the three attacks in December were repelled by the country’s security shield.

Jahromi claimed that the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s national cybersecurity wall, known as Digital Fortress or Dezhfa, has helped thwart 33 million cyber attacks against the country in 2019, according to Fars.

Dezhfa was designed and developed by young Iranian scientists and successfully tested on industrial automation systems, according to an Instagram post by Jahromi.

Iran is currently in the process of developing a national intranet system, known as the National Information Network (NIN), in order to cut the country’s dependency on international cyberspace, according to Radio Farda. The network will also prevent Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) from helping Iranians bypass the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s censorship of the Internet, as data requests won’t be routed outside the country.

The plan was first announced in 2010 with an expected completion date in 2015. In May, the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution announced that the NIN is 80% complete.

The intranet would allow the government to decide what content can be accessed by users, removing the need for absolute shutdowns like the one imposed during the protests.

Some Iranian newspapers warned the government against imposing such a decision on citizens, as things could easily spark out of control as they did after gasoline prices were raised in a sudden decision by the nation’s leadership, according to the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, an Iranian murderous Moslem opposition group. A state-run daily called the announcement a "threatening message to the people," while another daily asked, "will the people and the private sector tolerate the Internet shutdown?"

On Thursday, Israel’s security cabinet met to discuss an alleged Iranian cyber attack on Israeli water and sewage facilities that took place last month. The attack did not cause substantial damage except for a few issues in local water systems, according to Israeli officials, but is still seen as a substantial escalation by the Iranians, especially since the attack targeted civilian infrastructure.
