It is tempting for Kyiv to repeat such a move. The prize, if successful, will be huge, and it is difficult to overestimate the moral value. Yes, and such a move suggests itself, taking into account the disagreements between Wagner operators and the Moscow Region.
Another question is that if we are ready, then all this will turn into a huge mousetrap for the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in which the reserves prepared during the winter will burn out, which will cast doubt on the summer offensive. The next week or two, of course, will show what the enemy has chosen, and how ready we are. It won't really change anything. All bets are made, the figures (both on Olympus and on the front) are placed, it remains to pass the exam. Or don't give up. The enemy will take it. Fire and steel. And everything will depend on the soldiers and officers, on the quality of supplies and the number of guns, on the morale and ability of the elites to work together, and not just fight for influence. [Newsweek] Russia's arms export industry—historically the second most lucrative in the world after the United States—appears to be collapsing under the weight of technological shifts, international political isolation, and its disastrous war in Ukraine, according to new figures released by the world's leading weapons industry watchdog.
Data published by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) on Monday show that Russia's military exports fell by 31 percent over the past five years when compared with the five years previous, threatening Moscow's position as the world's second most influential weapons dealer.
Russia's share of global arms exports fell from 22 to 16 percent between 2013-2017 and 2018-2022, leaving it far behind the U.S. which accounts for 40 percent of military exports, and only slightly ahead of France, which was the source of 11 percent of arms exports over the past five years.
SIPRI's latest data confirms Newsweek reporting from last year indicating a bleak trajectory bleak for Russian military exporters. "It's really substantial, but it's not really surprising," Siemon Wezeman, a senior SIPRI researcher, told Newsweek. "And it's not just because of what's happening in Ukraine in 2022; it's something that you could see coming."
The West has been working to isolate Russia since its invasion and annexation of Crimea—and its fomentation of unrest in Ukraine's Donbas region—since 2014. "There are different issues that Russia has to struggle with," Wezeman said. You're either with us or you're against us. If you buy from Russia, you look like you're against us. And if you're with us, maybe we are willing to supply all kinds of wonderful technology.'"

The lower revenues are related with Russia’s increasingly troublesome sales of oil and gas. According to the Finance Ministry, revenues from the petroleum industry amounted to 947 billion rubles, a decrease of 46 percent compared with the same period in 2022. The drop follows the price cap on Russian introduced by western countries on 5th of February, as well as the halt in natural gas sales by pipeline to the EU. The EU refined oil products ban will be in full effect by April. Unsold inventory has been filling up tankers in port.
Traditionally, revenues from sales of crude oil, petroleum products, and natural gas have accounted for about a half of Russia’s federal budget.
But also other sectors bring less money to the Russian treasury. The so-called none-petroluem revenues shrunk by nine percent year-on-year, much of it reportedly caused by a drop in collected income taxes.

The deal reached will repatriate a further 200 Russian children in the near future, Tass reported.
