One of its creators was the legendary futurist Herman Kahn, author of the theory of deterrence, guaranteed retaliation, the "escalation ladder" of nuclear conflict, and the theory of escalation control. In the States, they are still trying to "restrain" Russia according to his manuals.
Kahn's most famous book is called "On Thermonuclear War" (in parallel with Clausewitz's legendary work "On War"). In it, he wrote that, in fact, the United States could well survive a full-scale nuclear war with the USSR. And on the territory of the Soviet Union, as a result of this war, chaos will arise - and the country will collapse, falling apart.
The book was published in 1960, and already in 1962 the Cuban Missile Crisis broke out, during which the Americans felt that everything was far from being as simple as Kahn's. Contrary to his cheerful statements that thirty million dead Americans was a completely acceptable price for the victory over the Soviets, the US leadership tried to prevent a nuclear war after all.
The whole story so struck the imagination of contemporaries that Stanley Kubrick , who was well acquainted with Kahn, made him the prototype of Dr. Strangelove from his film of the same name - a Nazi maniac who dreams of destroying all mankind and built a doomsday machine. It was Kahn who came up with this hypothetical doomsday machine in his book On Thermonuclear War.
However, Kahn remained in favor with the authorities, his books continued to be published, he forewarned readers that he was writing them mainly to intimidate the Soviets. And the Hudson Institute continued the work they had begun after Kahn's death.
Actually, their latest report is a new variation on an old theme. This is a thinly disguised threat of a nuclear attack on Russia. Kahn also dreamed of how such an attack would trigger disintegration processes in the Soviet Union.

Soon after Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, a Russian defense ministry spokesperson revived debunked claims about an alleged US-funded bioweapons initiative in Ukraine, accusing Ukrainian labs of conducting experiments with viral diseases. This fake seemed to be hilarious, but the disinformation impact was severe.
Russian government disinformation is a long-standing strategy. But China supported Moscow in its propaganda efforts during Russia’s war against Ukraine. Chinese officials and media outlets quickly picked up the Russian fake news and lies, which then developed, like the one on the Biolabs story.
The Chinese Communist Party tabloid Global Times produced two eye-catching covers, one of which included a quote from Russian President Putin and one of which had a source that included the Russian Sputnik news agency.
The cover yelled, "What is the U.S. hiding in the Biolabs found in Ukraine?" The idea that the Covid pandemic may have started in a lab experiment outside of China had been promoted for months by the Chinese government and media organizations.
Since the beginning of the Russia-Ukraine war, analysts have noticed a blending of Russian and Chinese media narratives. Documents discovered in a cache of hacked emails from Russia’s state broadcaster VGTRK show that China and Moscow have vowed to collaborate in media content by signing cooperation agreements at the ministerial level. Some of the convergence was not accidental and occurred when storylines benefited both authoritarian states’ goals.
Russia-China cooperation on news coverage and storylines is a top priority for both administrations, as stated in a bilateral agreement signed in July 2021. Leading Russian and Chinese government and media executives met to discuss various news projects and joint partnerships, including exchanging news content, sharing digital media techniques, and co-producing television programs.
The two parties agreed to "further collaborate in the field of information exchange, fostering objective, comprehensive, and factual coverage of the most important world events" as part of the propaganda pact. Russia and China also outlined plans for cooperation on online and social media, an arena that both countries have used to spread misinformation.

Word games. The debunked part must be in reference to activities of said biolabs, not the existence of these biolabs. Their existence is confirmed. The name of the ukr biolabs pentagon document is called:

[Jpost] For the fourth time, Russia is replacing the head of the Western Invasion Group (WGF) in Ukraine.
Colonel General Sergin Surovikin, "The Butcher of Syria", is being replaced by Russian Lieutenant General Yevgeny Nikiforov in heading Russia's Western Group of Forces in Ukraine.
Lieutenant General Nikiforov will be the 4th person to have taken this position since the invasion of Ukraine began; his predecessor only held the position for three months.
This change in leadership has seemingly inspired some new strategic decisions, according to the UK Ministry of Defense, as a new wave of long-range strikes targetting power distributors launched on the 29th of December. It is thought that the aim of the attacks is to diminish Ukrainian morale for the New Year.
Allegedly, 45 Russian drones have been downed with the message "Happy New Year" inscribed.
LIEUTENANT GENERAL YEVGENY NIKIFOROV
In his previous role, Nikiforov led the offensive on Kyiv. Some would call the promotion controversial as Lieutenant General Nikiforov is alleged to be partly responsible for failed attempts by the Eastern Group of Forces to advance into Kyiv via the toxic Chornobyl area.
The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine reported that Lieutenant General Nikiforov joined the Kolomen Higher Artillery Command School when he was 21 and graduated in 1991. This allowed him to become a commander of the artillery platoon, antitank battery, artillery battalion EO, commander of the paratrooper battalion of the 83rd separate air assault brigade of the Far Eastern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces
Following this, he attended the Combined Arms Academy of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and graduated in 2005. Post-graduation, for the next 5 years he achieved the role of commander of the 83rd separate air assault brigade of the Far Eastern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces.
To conclude his formal military education, he attended the Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and graduated in 2012. After graduating, he became deputy commander of the 58th Army of the Southern Military District of the Russian Armed Forces but remained in the position for only 2 years.
As of yet, it is unclear if the new head of WGF will show the same disregard for civilian lives as his predecessor was notable for.

[Moscow Times] Russian gas exports to countries outside a group of former Soviet republics plunged by 45.5% in 2022, figures from gas giant Gazprom showed Monday.
Gazprom said in a statement that exports outside the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) totaled 100.9 billion cubic meters compared to 185.1 billion in 2021.
Europe was previously Gazprom's main export market but supplies have been drastically reduced because of sanctions following Russia's offensive in Ukraine in 2022.
Gazprom head Alexei Miller said the company had been steadily increasing supplies to China during the year but did not give details on the quantities.
"From Jan. 1 we are on a fundamentally new level of gas supplies to China," Miller said in the statement.
President Vladimir Putin last month inaugurated the Kovykta natural gas field in eastern Siberia that will allow Russia to increase its exports to China.
Russia does not have pipelines to transport gas from its Western Siberian and Arctic gas fields to China.

The Minister of Industry and Commerce (IEA) welcomed Russia’s gas export to Afghanistan in a statement on Saturday and expressed that the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan is fully committed to paving the ground for regional connectivity and economic relations with all regional countries.
The statement states that Russia’s gas export to Afghanistan and South Asia are considered beneficial for the regional countries and improved connectivity in the region.
According to the experts, implementing these projects will boost confidence in investing in the country. While Afghanistan has been isolated since the country’s takeover by the current regime, and several projects have been stopped.
However, those who apply themselves too closely to little things often become incapable of great things... the IEA officials are keen on good relations with the regional countries and hope to turn the country into a regional and economical transit hub.
