Missouri could become first state to execute a transgender woman
I had hopes for Texas.
[FoxNews] Amber McLaughlin, 49, was convicted of first-degree murder in 2003 for killing her girlfriend.

Missouri may be the first state to ever execute a transgender woman in the United States, unless the state’s governor grants clemency, according to reports.

Amber McLaughlin, 49, is a transgender woman and is scheduled to be executed by lethal injection tomorrow, after being found guilty of killing a former girlfriend in 2003.

McLaughlin was tried as Scott McLaughlin and did not transition until after being sentenced to prison.

The Associated Press reported that McLaughlin was in a relationship with 45-year-old Beverly Guenther before transitioning and would sometimes show up at an office in St. Louis where Guenther worked.

At times, McLaughlin hid inside the building, according to court records, leading Guenther to obtain a restraining order.

Police officers, at times, would escort Guenther to her vehicle after work.

On the night of Nov. 20, 2003, Guenther’s neighbors called police after she failed to return home, the AP reported.

Officers went to the office where Guenther worked and found a broken knife handle near her car and a trail of blood. The next day, McLaughlin showed police where Guenther’s body had been dumped in the Mississippi River.

McLaughlin was ultimately convicted of first-degree murder in 2006 and sentenced to death after a jury deadlocked on the sentence, AP reported. In 2016, a court ordered a new sentencing hearing, but in 2021, the federal appeals court panel reinstated the death penalty.

With no appeals pending, McLaughlin’s attorney Larry Comp told AP, clemency is being sought.

The request for clemency does not primarily focus on McLaughlin’s gender identity, but instead on traumatic childhood and mental health issues which were never presented to a jury during trial.

AP reported that the clemency petition claims when McLaughlin was with a foster parent as a toddler, that person rubbed feces in her face. Another time, her adoptive father used a stun gun on her, according to the petition.

The petition also claims McLaughlin suffers from depression and attempted to kill herself several times.

When it comes to McLaughlin's gender identity, the petition addresses a diagnosis of gender dysphoria, which is a condition that can cause anguish and more because of a person struggling between their assigned sex at birth, and their gender identity, AP reported.

"We think Amber has demonstrated incredible courage because I can tell you there’s a lot of hate when it comes to that issue," Komp told AP on Monday. But he added it is not the focus of the clemency request.

Missouri Gov. Mike Parson is reviewing the request for clemency, which a spokesperson for the governor told AP is still underway.

The Death Penalty Information Center, according to AP, said there is no known case of a transgender inmate being executed in the U.S.

This is also the first use of the death penalty on a woman since the U.S. Supreme Court reinstated capital punishment in 1976, according to U.S. House of Representative members Cori Bush and Emanuel Cleaver, who urged Parson to grant clemency. Before 1976, the only woman ever executed in the state was Bonnie B. Heady, AP said. She was executed in a gas chamber on Dec. 18, 1953, for kidnapping and killing a 6-year-old boy.

On this day in history, Jan. 2, 1920, thousands detained by DOJ in nationwide 'Palmer Raids'
[FoxNews] Violent dragnet marked height of Red Scare, flagrant abuse of constitutional restrictions on government.

The Department of Justice unleashed a shocking and often violent unconstitutional nationwide dragnet — detaining as many as 10,000 people — on this day in history, Jan. 2, 1920.

Attorney General A. Mitchell Palmer, appointed to the office 10 months earlier by President Woodrow Wilson, led the sweep against suspected communists and anarchists, as well as their sympathizers.

The action was soon dubbed the Palmer Raids.

"The raids constituted a horrific, shameful episode in American history, one of the lowest moments for liberty since King George III quartered troops in private homes," writes the Foundation for Economic Education.

The foundation calls the effort under President Wilson "America's reign of terror."

The Wilson administration also targeted political opponents.

"Even simple criticism of the government was enough to send you to jail," according to Christopher Finan, author of the 2007 book "From the Palmer Raids to the Patriot Act: A History of the Fight for Free Speech in America."

The Palmer Raids marked the height of the nation's first Red Scare, a response to the Bolshevik Revolution and communist takeover of Russia.

The radical ideology soon spread across Europe and the United States after the tectonic social upheaval caused by World War I.

The era of fear was further fueled by widespread postwar labor discontent and the deadly influenza pandemic of 1919, which killed about 675,000 Americans, many of them children, in just a year-and-a-half.

"The Constitution faced a major test on this day in 1920 when raids ordered by Attorney General Mitchell Palmer saw thousands of people detained without warrants merely upon general suspicion," the National Constitution Center wrote last year.

"Facilitated by a young Justice Department official, J. Edgar Hoover, what became known as the Palmer Raids peaked on the night of Jan. 2, 1920, when between 3,000 and 10,000 people in 35 cities were detained."

More Than 1-in-4 Say They Know Someone Who Died From Covid-19 Vaccines
[Rasmussen] Nearly half of Americans think COVID-19 vaccines may be to blame for many unexplained deaths, and more than a quarter say someone they know could be among the victims.

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that (49%) of American Adults believe it is likely that side effects of COVID-19 vaccines have caused a significant number of unexplained deaths, including 28% who think it’s Very Likely. Thirty-seven percent (37%) don’t say a significant number of deaths have been caused by vaccine side effects, including 17% who believe it’s Not At All Likely. Another 14% are not sure. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

Twenty-eight percent (28%) of adults say they personally know someone whose death they think may have been caused by side effects of COVID-19 vaccines, while 61% don’t and another 10% are not sure.

The documentary Died Suddenly has been criticized as promoting "debunked" anti-vaccine conspiracy theories but has been seen by some 15 million people.

Forty-eight percent (48%) of Americans believe there are legitimate reasons to be concerned about the safety of COVID-19 vaccines, while 37% think people who worry about vaccine safety are spreading conspiracy theories. Another 15% are not sure.

The survey of 1,000 American Adults was conducted on December 28-30, 2022 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence. Field work for all Rasmussen Reports surveys is conducted by Pulse Opinion Research, LLC. See methodology.

Seventy-one percent (71%) say they have received a COVID-19 vaccination, while 26% have not. Concerns about vaccine safety are much higher among the unvaccinated.

Seventy-seven percent (77%) of adults who have not gotten COVID-19 vaccinations believe it’s at least somewhat likely that side effects of COVID-19 vaccines have caused a significant number of unexplained deaths. Among those who have gotten the vaccine, just 38% consider unexplained deaths from the vaccine at least somewhat likely.

Bills-Bengals Game Suspended After Player Collapses, Given CPR on Field
[PJ] Original article: On Monday Night Football, it was a harrowing scene at the game between the Buffalo Bills and the Cincinnati Bengals. It was a routine play: Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow threw a pass to wide receiver Tee Higgins, and safety Damar Hamlin tackled Higgins. Damar took a couple of steps and collapsed.

Athletic trainers rushed to Hamlin’s side and began to assist him. Staff called a stretcher out as a hush fell over the crowd, players, and coaches.

"The entire Bills sideline surrounded Hamlin as he received care," reported Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN. "Multiple Bills players were visibly distressed and comforting each other as he was cared to. Many had to turn their backs to not watch Hamlin in distress."

Medical personnel performed CPR on Hamlin, reportedly for nine minutes, as players for both teams knelt to pray.

Denver airport cancels or delays hundreds of flights: reports
Why is Covid better than SouthWest?
Because it's airborne.

[FoxBusinessNews] Flight tracking site data showed Denver International Airport led the country with 139 canceled flights and 418 others delayed.

Travel issues continued to snowball at Denver International Airport on Monday after over 600 flights were canceled or delayed because icy conditions and poor visibility plagued the runway, according to reports.
OMG — winter really did come. How can this be??
The Denver Post reported roughly 650 flights were affected, which could not have come at a worse time.

In fact, Denver International Airport was on its way to recovery after a tumultuous week of holiday travel, when Southwest Airlines stranded thousands of passengers in airports across the country, including Denver.

Snow showers were expected to continue through most of the day and into the evening on Monday, Fox station KDVR in Denver reported.

At 7:30 p.m. EST on Monday, Denver International reported 139 flights canceled and 418 delayed.

Across the country, there were 7,077 flight delays within, into, or out of the U.S., according to flight tracking website FlightAware.com, and 710 cancelations.

Denver’s airport also led the nation in cancelations and delays during the day, according to FlightAware’s data.

Southwest Airline is a major carrier that flies in and out of Denver.

Two days before Christmas, a winter storm that swept across the country crippled air travel, leaving many passengers stranded in airports across the country.

Delays continued through the weekend and into the following week.

Africa Horn
Tensions flare up between Somaliland and Puntland with around 20 killed in Las Anod
Now that the big fight is running down, some are turning to other fights, just to keep their hand in.
[ShabelleMedia] At least twenty people have been killed during five days of protests in the town of Las Anod, the epicenter of the long-running territorial dispute between the self-proclaimed republic of Somaliland and the semi-autonomous Somali region of Puntland
...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
in the northern Horn of Africa since 2007.

Protesters erupted into the streets on Tuesday to demand that the Somaliland government finally give up its claims to the town, which it took control of some 15 years ago, marked in part by the forced expulsion of more than 7,200 Somalis in recent months, and hand it over to the Puntland state for good.

The expulsion of Somalis has provoked protests from both the Somali federal state and the international community. However,
a woman is only as old as she admits...
Somaliland has defended its actions by saying that the evictions were the culmination of several security threats posed by the evictees.

The protests mainly target Somaliland’s president, Muse Bihi Abdi, who they accuse of orchestrating political liquidations against his rivals — such as politician Abdifata Abdulli Hadrawi, rubbed out last week by masked men — and other dissidents. He is also accused of clinging to power with an illegitimate mandate, which ended last December, with no elections having been held so far "for technical reasons", according to the authorities.

The vote was scheduled for Nov. 13, a month before the end of the president’s term, in a call to the polls that was seen as a milestone for a state until a few years ago relatively peaceful that has been seeking international recognition for decades after it declared independence from the rest of Somalia in 1991.

The president has denied any responsibility for Hadrawi’s death, for which he has accused the "enemies of Somaliland" while opposition parties such as Waddani have urged him to leave power immediately and dedicated their efforts to call for these protests that have resulted in this provisional twenty dead after the intervention of Somaliland security forces, according to the Somali portal Garowe On Line, citing "multiple independent sources".

The situation has become so serious that the Somali government, the United States and the African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
mission in Somalia, ATMIS, and the United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
have immediately called for calm. "International partners are concerned about the violence in Las Anod that has caused deaths and injuries among the civilian population," the UN mission in the African country, UNSOM, said in a statement issued Sunday.

"The prevention of violence and guarantees for the protection of civilians are paramount. We call for calm and restraint. Tensions must be resolved through détente and dialogue," the UN mission said.

China-Japan-Koreas
19 Senior Experts Of China's Top Academic Bodies Died In December
[ZERO] In December, 19 experts of China’s top academies, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), died of unspecified "illness," a statistic that is six times higher than the average number of deaths in the past years.

Official reports avoid mentioning the cause of these deaths, in what appears to be an attempt to cover up deaths caused by COVID-19.

But Airfinity, a UK-based Health Data Agency, updated data on Dec. 30, saying that roughly 11,000 people in China are dying every day from COVID, bringing the total number of deaths from the disease to 110,000 in December.

According to obituaries published by China’s official media, in the 12 days from Dec.15 to Dec.26, 13 members of CAE passed away due to "illness." They are fiber optic communication expert Zhao Zisen (91), environmental engineering and environmental water quality expert Tang Hongxiao (91), rare earth metal smelting and separation expert Zhang Guocheng (91), laser technology expert Zhao Yijun (92), inorganic non-metallic materials expert Gu Zhenan (86), civil engineering and structural mechanics expert Long Yuqiu (96), ecologists and foresters Li Wenhua (90), wildlife scientist Ma Jianzhang (86), pediatric surgery specialist Zhang Jinzhe (102), thermal impeller machinery expert Wang Zhongqi (90), architect and professor at Tsinghua University Guan Zhaoye (93), welding specialist for aerospace manufacturing engineering Guan Qiao (87), and petroleum engineering expert Li Qingzhong (92).

In 2022, the company formerly known as Facebook lost roughly two-thirds of its value as investors balked at a future in the metaverse. Tesla fell by a similar amount, as the carmaker long valued like a tech company crashed into reality. Amazon dropped by half. Colorado lawyer Kevin Evans sued the Department of Justice in March after it failed to comply with his request for records on the Bidens' business dealings. GAB to UK Gov't - Get Bent
[Gab] The Gab Files: UK Government Demands Gab Ban A User For "Stirring Up Hatred"
DECEMBER 29, 2022

Gab is going to begin publishing the purely censorship-based inbound requests that we receive from governments. These are the cases where for the most part European bodies like the Met and Europol send us transparently political takedown requests with no law enforcement purpose.

Essentially they’re trying to silence a person that they’ve already thrown in prison or are about to. If they don’t want us to talk about these frivolous requests, they can stop sending them to us.

#1  Gab is an American company which operates its business in accordance with U.S. law. Gab has no business or operations in the United Kingdom of any kind, nor does it inquire as to, or log, the residence or criminal records of its users or readers.
Gab’s policy is to not remove material unless it violates Gab’s terms of service which was drafted in accordance with US law, in particular the First Amendment.

There are many but there is one reason we are not still part of the British Empire.
