#1 "Even if we assume that the document deliberately ignores four new regions (DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions), then to pretend that the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol are also not part of Russia, it is necessary to have outstanding tunnel vision and no less impressive incompetence."

Just because you say they are doesn't make them so.

#2 Maps can always be graded on the criterion of "how big of a war did that one start?"

#3 Danish Defense Intelligence Service, it’s possible that the treatment Putin is getting for thyroid cancer has turned him into a megalomaniac.

AmThinker: Putin’s megalomania due to drugs?

#4 The report notes that there are 83 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, which raises further questions for the professionalism of the authors, since there are 89 regions in the country. Even if we assume that the document deliberately ignores four new regions (DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions), then to pretend that the Republic of Crimea and the federal city of Sevastopol are also not part of Russia, it is necessary to have outstanding tunnel vision and no less impressive incompetence.

Such a charming use of language. But I don't know whether to credit the author or Google. Maybe you could call it teamwork.

#5 Russia was always going to collapse thanks to its horrible demographics. It was just a question of when.

#6 With big thinkers like Dale on tap, I'd bet "sooner rather than later."

#7 The main task of the States at this stage will be to take under international (read: under their own) control of the Russian nuclear arsenal. In general, this will be the cherished goal that they could not achieve before.

They better bring their heavy overcoats.

#8 Not an easy task, but destroying that arsenal in place doesn't demand a bunch of nuclear explosions. Some Palomares type stuff OTOH...

#9 It's a pretty big gamble...

A common occurrence in industrial societies. In Europe they counter it by importing people with higher birthrates from the Middle East and Africa. Here in America, we import people with higher birthrates from Latin America. What to do when those people become the majority and start treating us as the minority? Send them to occupy Russia?

#11 A common occurrence in industrial societies.

Yep. The latter half of this century is gonna be real interesting as the world has to deal with a demographic situation it has never had too. More old people than young. By the end of the century there will be 500 million less Chinese than now due to aging and low birthrates.

World population will peak at near 9 billion around 2040 and then decline and by the end of the century it will be back down to 7 billion, and will only get lower next century.

Gonna be reeeeeal interesting.

#12 Washington isn't prepared for the collapse of the United States. Fortunately, we have 50 backup systems in place, some of which will work and some of which won't.

#13 We saw significant population falls at the end of the Bronze Age and again with the fall of the western half of the Roman empire.

And during the first round of the Black Plague, but that was different.

It’s going to be very interesting, indeed.

#15 China’s population is falling, too. I don’t see now they can hold Siberia for long.
