[FoxNews] A Delta Air Lines pilot was sleeping in the targeted room where the botched training exercise took place
The FBI and other federal agents burst into the wrong Boston hotel room Tuesday night during a training exercise, startling the guest inside who had no idea what was going on as he was handcuffed.
The incident occurred on the 15th floor of the Revere Hotel as agents were conducting a mock investigation. FBI agents were assisting the U.S. Department of Defense in a training exercise inside the hotel to simulate a situation that DOD personnel might encounter in a deployed environment.
Based on inaccurate information, they were mistakenly sent to the wrong room and detained an individual, not the intended role player," the FBI said in a statement.
The agents targeted room 1505, where a Delta Air Lines pilot was sleeping inside and opened the door, WBZ-TV reported.
When agents went in, they handcuffed the man, who is in his 30s, before interrogating him and putting him in the shower, the news report said.
They eventually realized the mistake and apologized.
"First and foremost, we’d like to extend our deepest apologies to the individual who was affected by the training exercise," Lt. Col. Mike Burns of the United States Special Operations Command told Fox News Digital in a statement. "The training team, unfortunately, entered the wrong room and detained an individual unaffiliated with the exercise."
Hotel security was alerted to the incident and called the Boston Police Department.
"We are looking into reports of an alleged incident in Boston that may involve Delta people," the airline told Fox News Digital in a statement. "We have nothing further to share at this time other than to reaffirm our commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our people."
Fox News Digital has reached out to the hotel.
Safety is always a priority of the FBI, and our law enforcement partners, and we take these incidents very seriously," the FBI said. "The Boston Division is reviewing the incident with DOD for further action as deemed appropriate."

The military has been doing this for decades. MEUs used to do this before deployments and Force Recon would do long range hits from 29 Palms to San Diego. My hunch was all was going well until the Feebs got involved in these exercises.

In 1974 I was involved as a Team Chief of a USMC Counter-Intelligence unit assigned to an exercise at Camp Pendleton. The scenario involved a mythical Latin American country we had entered involving assisting an allied local government stopping a communist overthrow (imagine that mindset today).
In any event, among the role players in the OPFOR were USMC Reservists from Miami who were playing the insurgent communist ringleaders, and were to be brought in for interrogation. About 3 AM the Marine MPs involved in the exercise dutifly brought in four or five men who were hog-tied, gagged and had hoods over their heads. It was explained that they had been picked up along the planned "infiltration route" for the exercise, right along I-5, and had been kept in a wire POW compound for several hours before being brought in for questioning. We started the process of separating them and beginning the questioning, and discovered the most frightened illegal aliens in history. When the USBP agents came to pick them up, we learned later they were begging to be returned to the border and apoplectic in their apology for entering the US illegally. One Agent asked if we could stay on permanently.

TCG Muavenet (DM-357) (previously USS Gwin, transferred in 1971) was a destroyer minelayer of the Turkish Navy crippled by two Sea Sparrow missiles fired from the aircraft carrier USS Saratoga during a NATO exercise in Saros Bay, Turkey in 1992, resulting in five deaths and 22 injured among its crew.

I have been on the HRT training with SOF back in 97. It was run pretty smoothly. We hit a building next to Fenway. The owner of the soon to be torn down warehouse showed up with his family and demanded to watch from inside. I called the TOC and legal that was in the TOC. I could not stop him from entering the building. When the team blew a hole from the fourth floor to the second he came running out at full tilt, leaving his wife and kids inside. We went in and got her and the kids out. No one was hurt, but she was pissed as a hornet. And probably a little sad that her husband was a coward...

[JPost] Finland will purchase the David’s Sling air defense system from Israel, its Ministry of Defence said.
The announcement, which was made late Wednesday, came a day after the Nordic country was accepted into NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A cautionary tale of cost-benefit analysis.... The treaty’s newest member said the plans were to buy the defense system for €316 million, with a possibility for expansion.
This is the first time that David’s Sling has been sold abroad.
"The procurement contract will include a separate clause between the Israeli Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Defence of Finland to ensure the security of supply of the system," a Finnish statement said. "The arrangement will ensure the availability of critical system components in all security situations."
It added that the "system will extend the operational range of Finland’s ground-based air defense capabilities significantly."

No, but it is within shouting distance and a helluva lot closer than Turky or however they spell it these days.
People are making a big deal about Finland joining NATO, but I don't think the Russians give a poot. You know the Olympic sport biathlon that combines cross-country skiing and target shooting? It comes from the traditional Finnish custom of shooting at Russians while on skis, so I think their disposition is already pre-determined in case of festivities
The reason the Russians don't care is the topography of the Russo-Finnish border - swarms of little lakes and forests and bogs. Very defensible and not good tank country, unlike Ukraine which is wide and flat with only the Dniepr as a defensible position.

The resistance response to the mediators was clear: "We don’t fear confrontation and ready to teach the occupation a harsh lesson," the sources added.
In the same context, the Islamic Jihad stressed it was fully ready to retaliate for the Israeli aggression, noting that the rockets which were fired from Gaza were "initial warning message" to the Israeli occupation.
