Afghanistan
China advises citizens in Afghanistan to leave 'as soon as possible' following hotel bombing in Kabul
[FoxNews] Militant Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the bombing.

China on Tuesday advised its citizens in Afghanistan to leave the country "as soon as possible," following a coordinated attack by Islamic State militants the previous day on a Chinese-owned hotel in the heart of Kabul.

The Chinese advisory appeared to be a setback for Afghanistan's Taliban rulers who seek foreign investments in hopes of halting the downward spiral of the Afghan economy since their takeover of the country more than a year ago.

The militant Islamic State group — a key rival of the Taliban — claimed responsibility for the attack Monday afternoon on Kabul Longan Hotel, which left three assailants dead and at least two hotel guests injured as they tried to escape by jumping out of a window.

Plumes of smoke rose from the 10-story building in the central Shar-e Naw neighborhood, according to images posted on social media as the attack unfolded. Residents reported explosions and gunfire.

Taliban forces rushed to the area and blocked all roads leading to the site. Khalid Zadran, the Taliban-appointed spokesman for the Kabul police chief, said the attack lasted several hours, followed by a clean-up operation.

The Chinese Embassy in Kabul sent its team to the site to help with the rescue, treatment and accommodations for the victims of the attack, Wang added.

"In view of the current security situation in Afghanistan, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs once again advised Chinese citizens and institutions in Afghanistan to evacuate from Afghanistan as soon as possible," Wang said.

China has economic and mining interests in the country though those familiar with past talks between the Taliban and Chinese officials say Beijing wants Taliban commitments to prevent China’s Uyghur opponents from setting up operations in Afghanistan.

Chinese firms, with strong government backing, have tentatively sought to pursue opportunities in exploiting Afghanistan’s vast, undeveloped resource deposits, especially the Mes Aynak mine that is believed to hold the world’s largest copper deposit.

In October, Taliban-appointed government spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid highlighted China as a key part of Afghanistan’s economic development. China has also revealed its aspirations to play a leading role in Afghanistan following the withdrawal of U.S. forces — Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at a regional conference recently led calls for the United States to unfreeze Afghan assets held abroad and end sanctions on the Taliban government.

There was no information on the identities of the injured Chinese guests at the Kabul hotel or what they were doing in Afghanistan.

The IS statement, carried by one of the militant Telegram channels used by the group, said two of its members targeted the hotel because it is frequented by diplomats and owned by "communist China."

It further claimed IS attackers detonated two bags with explosives that were left in the hotel earlier, including one in the main hall, and set fire to a part of the hotel. The militant group offered no proof for its claims.

There were conflicting reports as to the casualty numbers. Taliban officials said three assailants were killed; the IS claim said only two of its members took part in the attack, identifying them by name and posting their photographs. According to Mujahid, the Taliban government spokesman, two foreign residents were injured when they jumped out of hotel windows.

However, the Emergency Hospital in Kabul said in a tweet Monday that it received 21 casualties, including the bodies of three people.

The IS regional affiliate — known as the Islamic State in Khorasan Province — has increased its attacks since the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan in August 2021.

Rights group claims EU 'complicit' in Libya's migrants abuse
[AnNahar] Human Rights Watch on Monday accused the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
's border and coasties agency of being complicit in migrant abuses by Libya by allowing the North African country's coasties to intercept migrant boats crossing the Mediterranean Sea for southern Europe.

Following a data-based investigation report released by the New York-based watchdog last Thursday, it concluded that the agency, known as Frontex, uses its aerial surveillance technology to help Libyan forces locate migrant boats — rather than other rescue organizations or merchant ships also patrolling the Mediterranean.

Every year, thousands of migrants colonists hoping to reach Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
make their way through Libya, where a lucrative trafficking and smuggling business has flourished in a country fragmented for years between rival administrations in the east and west, each backed by different gangs and foreign governments.

Last year, 2062 people were reported dead or missing after attempting to reach Europe by boat, according to the U.N. agency's Missing Moslem colonists Migrants Project.

Those who survive and are caught by the Libyan coasties and returned to the country, face an uncertain future. Thousands of other migrants colonists have endured torture, sexual violence and extortion at the hands of guards in detention centers across Libya.

The detention centers are supposed to be run by Libya's interim authorities but notorious militia groups remain in control.

"By alerting Libyan authorities about boats carrying migrants colonists, knowing those migrants colonists will be returned to atrocious treatment, and despite having other options, Frontex is complicit in the abuse," said Judith Sunderland, an associate director with Human Rights Watch.

According to the report, Frontex began using drones to scan the Libyan coastline from a base in Malta in May 2021.

The strategy had no ''meaningful impact' in lowering the death rate in migrant crossings of the Mediterranean but led to a rise in the number of Libyan coastguard interceptions, the report said.

Seeking to stem the flow of migrants colonists, the EU has given Libya's administration based in the capital, Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
, more than $500 million since 2015. The funds are intended to bolster its coasties service with better vessels and equipment, and improve conditions for migrants colonists in detention centers.

However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried...
the policy has been heavily criticized as vast sums ended up in the hands of murderous Moslems and traffickers, according to a 2019 AP investigation. Libya's coasties has also profited, with members often handing over migrants colonists intercepted at sea to militias as part of financial deals.

The HRW report concludes with a recommendation that Frontex, and other EU member states, deploy their own ships in the same areas where they now deploy drones, to ensure the migrants colonists don't fall back into the hands of Libyan authorities.

EU members have for years fought over who should take responsibility for migrants colonists arriving in southern Europe. They have rejected any EU-organized search and rescue missions, arguing that such a scheme would only encourage more migrants colonists to make the journey.

Amnesty says Morocco, Spain 'contributed' to migrant deaths
[AnNahar] Amnesia Amnesty International on Tuesday said Spanish and Moroccan authorities contributed to the deaths of tens of people who attempted to cross into Spain's North African enclave of Melilla in June.
Invasion force treated like invaders is a Dog Bites Man story... or should be.
The human rights
...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you...
organization accused Madrid and Rabat of "excessive use of force" and an "abject failure" to provide the truth about what occurred.

Nearly 20,000 migrants colonists, many from Sudan, stormed the meters-high fence that seals off Melilla from Morocco on June 24. Clashes with police ensued, in which several migrants colonists were crushed to death and others died from falling.

The corpse count -- at least 23 according to Morocco, at least 37 according to Amnesty and independent experts -- was the worst in years of attempted migrant crossings into Melilla and Ceuta.

The frontier between Morocco and the two Spanish enclaves are the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
's only land borders on the African continent.

"The methods used by Moroccan and Spanish authorities at the border crossing known as 'Barrio Chino' contributed to the deaths of at least 37 people and to injuries to dozens more," Amnesty said in a report.

Amnesty analysed videos and satellite images, and spoke to numerous migrants colonists who were present at the border when it was stormed.

"Some of the actions by Spanish and Moroccan officials ... may amount to breaches of the right to be free from torture and other ill-treatment," Amnesty said.

These included "beating people who were already restrained or unresponsive due to injury, denying emergency medical assistance to those injured, repeated use of tear gas against people who have no way of escape and are in a confined space".

"At this dismal six-month anniversary, the Spanish and Moroccan authorities continue to deny any responsibility for the carnage at Melilla," said Amnesia Amnesty International secretary general Agnes Callamard.

"There is a growing mountain of evidence of serious and multiple human rights violations... This smacks of a cover-up and racism."

Independent experts appointed by the United Nations
...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly...
Human Rights Council said in October at least 37 people had died, and decried an "alarming" lack of accountability, from both Morocco and Spain.

Investigations published in November by the BBC and European media consortium Lighthouse Reports denounced brutality by Moroccan forces and questioned the Spanish forces' actions.

The probes concluded that at least one migrant died on Spanish territory, which Spain's interior minister has repeatedly denied.

The Spanish ombudsman and the country's public prosecutor have also been investigating the tragedy.

In a letter sent on Friday to several NGOs and seen by AFP, the ombudsman said that explanations given by the interior ministry had "not been sufficient".

Delhi riots 2020: Court grants interim bail to Umar Khalid
[OneIndia] Umar Khalid was booked under the anti-terror law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and provisions of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly being a criminal mastermind of the 2020 Northeast Delhi riots.

So called activist muppet and an accused in orchestrating the anti-Hindu riots in Delhi, Umar Khalid has been granted interim bail for 7 days by a sessions court in Delhi on Monday.

Additional Sessions Judge Amitabh Rawat granted relief to Khalid from December 23 to 30. He has to surrender on December 30 and no extension can be granted.

According to Indian Express, the judge instructed Khalid to surrender before the court upon the completion of his interim bail term and told him specifically not to seek any further extension of bail.

Khalid had moved an application seeking two weeks' interim bail - from December 20 to January 3 - for his sister's wedding.
“Curses — foiled again!”
However,
there's more than one way to skin a cat...
the Delhi Police opposed his bail plea. "Despite the verification of the fact of solemnisation of marriage, the interim bail of the applicant is strongly opposed as he is facing very serious charges under UAPA and his regular bail application has been dismissed by this court and appeal thereof was dismissed by a division bench of the Delhi High Court," the Delhi Police said in response to his bail plea.

Khalid was booked under the anti-terror law Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and provisions of the Indian Penal Code for allegedly being a criminal mastermind of the 2020 Northeast Delhi riots, which had left 53 people dead and over 700 injured.

The violence had erupted during the protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and the National Register of Citizens (NRC).

Khalid has been in jug since September 2020. Sections under both the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) UAPA and Indian Penal Code had been slapped by the police following the meaningless riots that were carried out in Delhi at a time when the then president of the United States Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
had visited India.

Govt to develop portal to gather data on madrasas across country: Parliamentary panel report
It’s good to have a replacement if the current system isn’t working.
[OneIndia] The government will develop a portal to gather information about recognised as well as unrecognised madrasas in the country, according to a parliamentary panel report. The parliamentary standing committee report was tabled in Lok Sabha
...After the Libyan Civil War, Sabha grew in importance as a slave auctioning town. However, an investigation by the National Commission for Human Rights in Libya (NCHRL) revealed that while there was illegal slavery, reports were exaggerated, as slave auctions were rare and not made public. This was a great comfort to everyone but the slaves peddled in secret. The city was later seized by forces loyal to the Libyan National Army (LNA) and its leader Khalifa Haftar in January 2019, probably for its collection of MiG-25 aircraft....
on Monday.

To have a more comprehensive data of madrasas across the country, the Ministry of Minority Affairs told the panel that it has engaged an agency to develop a MIS (Management Information System) portal for the madrasas. "The states/UTs will be requested to upload the information regarding madrasa schools on the said portal and the portal will capture information of such recognised as well as unrecognised institutions," said the report..

As per official data, there are 26,928 registered madrasas with about 1.17 lakh teachers and the student enrolment in these institutions is more than 43.52 lakh.

The parliamentary panel has flagged that in the absence of detailed information with regard to the madrasas, including available infrastructure, teachers and students, as only 10 states/UTs have entered details on UDISE portal, it would be difficult to implement the New Education Policy in madrasas. The committee had, accordingly, recommended the ministry to collect the information within three months so that the madrasas are able to avail the facilities under the scheme.

As NIA ups the ante against Khalistanis, hypocrisy of countries such as Canada stare you in the face
[OneIndia] India has been urging nations such as Canada and US to do more when it comes to the problem of Khalistan.
... romantic idea that somehow the Sikhs will create a homeland in the Indian Punjab through anti-Indian terror and lawfare, funded by the Sikh diaspora and trained and guided as a project of Pakistan’s ISI...
India has however not got the desired response so far.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is widening its ambit in its crackdown against the pro-Khalistan elements. The NIA has already started getting results with two back-to-back extraditions of two Khalistanis from Malaysia and Australia.

Iraq
KDP, PUK political tensions ‘pause’ Peshmerga reforms: Dutch consul
[Rudaw] The political disagreements between the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) hinder the process of reforming the Peshmerga forces, the Dutch consul general in Erbil told Rudaw on Thursday, adding that he ’sincerely’ believes the two ruling parties have the willingness to unify the forces.

The KDP and the PUK, have for decades disagreed over a variety of issues, sometimes leading to major unrests in the Region. Disputes in Erbil and Baghdad have escalated in recent years over official positions, budgeting, and income.

"It is definitely more difficult because the political tensions are there," Jaco Beerends, Netherlands’ consul general in the Kurdistan Region, told Rudaw’s Hawraz Golpy about the Peshmerga reformation process, adding "now there is a pause in the system."

Beerends stated that he believes the KDP and the PUK understand that the reforms are a necessity and are willing to work towards that end.

"Both parties will see that in the end this is in their interest."

Although the Peshmerga forces are under the authority of the Peshmerga ministry, the force’s two largest units are divided among the KDP and the PUK.

Unit 70 forces are affiliated with the PUK and Unit 80 forces are controlled by the KDP making up the majority of the Peshmerga forces, numbering over 100,000 troops.

Dutch forces have been providing training for Kurdish Peshmerga and Iraqi soldiers as a member of the Global Coalition that was formed in September 2014 after Islamic State

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran claims uranium traces found at undeclared sites came in waste from abroad
[IsraelTimes] UN nuclear watchdog has been pressing Tehran for months for a credible explanation, saying until one was received it could not guarantee the integrity of Iran’s nuclear program.
Meh. They could not guarantee it before... or ever. Remember the 2003 CIA country report that claimed Iran was not working toward a nuclear bomb — in order to keep President George W. Bush from doing anything about it? Iran, Egypt (until they gave up), Iraq, Syria, and Libya all had nuclear bomb programs starting in the 1980s. Israel destroyed Iraq’s and Syria’s, Libya shipped theirs to America after the 2003 invasion of Iraq, and Egyot realized they couldn’t afford theirs, I guess, or decided American money for peace with Israel was a better deal. Only Iran is left, thanks to the CIA and President Obama.

#1  If things are left to their natural devices, the Iranian people will be free and the regime’s nuclear program will prove to be as irrelevant as the last shuffleboard tournament results from the Titanic. The globalists will certainly do everything they can to keep the current regime in power as a cash laundry mat. I am praying against their interests.
