Over 300 Afghan Trucks Stuck at Torkham Crossing
[Tolo News] Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) said Sunday that Pakistain is preventing Afghan trucks from entering the neighboring country and that more than 300 trucks are stuck at the Torkham border crossing.

ACCI officials said Pakistain's Embassy in Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
has stopped giving transit permits to Afghan trucks and keep coming up with different excuses.

Afghan government officials, meanwhile, warned they would follow a similar response if the trucks are not allowed to enter the country.

"If they do not allow our trucks to enter, we will also do the same thing. We will stop their trucks at the border and we will unload them," Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation Mohammadullah Batash said.

However the ACCI officials accused the Afghan government of being silent over the issue and doing nothing in this regard.

"Where is our national illusory sovereignty? Pak trucks are entering our country without having [legal] documents while our trucks are not being allowed to go to Pakistain. I don't know who we must complain to?" ACCI deputy head Khan Jan Alokozai said.

Furthermore, they asked President Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money. ..
to review the transit agreement between Kabul and Islamabad. They alleged that Pakistain is not abiding by the agreement.

Intelligence Void Behind Fall Of Kunduz: Probe Team
[Tolo News] The Wolesi Jirga's (the Lower House of the Parliament) fact finding team in Kunduz on Sunday said a lack of intelligence was the main reason behind the fall of Kunduz city to the Taliban late last month.

The team also said the infiltration of the enemy within the security force ranks in Kunduz was another reason for the collapse of the city. They warn that such an incident will be repeated in Kunduz if the Taliban are not completely suppressed in the province.

"The report that the National Directorate of Security
...the Afghan national intel agency...
[NDS] has provided to us reveals that at least 1,950 people were maimed and taken to hospitals and 900 Taliban bully boyz were killed in Kunduz festivities, while security forces have suffered low casualty tolls in this battle," said Mirdad Nijrabi, head of the Wolesi Jirga's internal security commission and chairman of the investigative team.

He added: "At least 34 police force members, one NDS operative and seven army troops have been killed and 54 police have been maimed in the Kunduz battle."

The delegation meanwhile is not providing more details about civilian casualties. However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well...
reports show that at least 70 non-combatants were killed in the Kunduz siege.

"They [militants] went into our neighbors' house. I saw that they killed five men in our neighbor's house and then they went into another house," an eye witness told TOLOnews. "I saw with my eyes. I walked through the dead bodies," the eye witness added.

"As I saw the situation in the city, it was miserable. When we woke up in the morning we saw that the Taliban was all around the area. I don't think that the situation will get back to normal soon. Kunduz situation is really miserable," another eyewitness and resident of Kunduz told TOLOnews.

The MPs fact-finding team has urged the government to continue their military operation until the province is completely cleared of Taliban.

Afghanistan would welcome Russia's assistance in war on terror
The new strong horse.
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the government said on Sunday that Russia has assisted Afghan National Security Forces with military equipment in the past and if another offer of assistance is made Afghanistan would welcome it.

Abdullah Abdullah
... the former foreign minister of the Northern Alliance government, advisor to Masood, and candidate for president against Karzai. Dr. Abdullah was born in Kabul and is half Tadjik and half Pashtun...
while talking to a presser in Presidential Palace said that Afghanistan has been fighting terrorism from the past 14 years and need the assistance of any country against the phenomenon.

"If any country wants to assist Afghanistan in war on terror, Afghanistan welcomes the offer," he said.

Terrorists from everywhere have arrived in Afghanistan, today it is acknowledged that terrorism does not know borders, Abdullah said.

Answering a question if the war in Syria and Afghanistan has similarity, Abdullah said that the issue of Afghanistan is different.

His comments come as the emergence of ISIS "Daesh [Islamic State]" and increasing insurgency in Afghanistan has made Russia concerned.

Moscow is mulling to extend its support to Kabul
...the capital of Afghanistan. Home to continuous fighting from 1992 to 1996 between the forces of would-be strongman and Pak ISI/Jamaat-e-Islami sock puppet Gulbuddin Hekmayar and the Northern Alliance, a period which won Hek the title Most Evil Man in the World and didn't do much for the reputations of the Northern Alliance guys either....
before the insurgency spills over to other countries from Afghanistan.

Refugees who have gone through detention want to forget Czechia as soon as possible
Czech TV web article, translated
Some are coming from the home country a few months, some for years. But all agree that staying in a Czech refugee facilities, the so-called detention, was the worst experience of their entire journey. "They treat you there like criminals, they are normal prisons," said the refugees.

They caught them on the train and had to immediately pay a fine of 50 euros

The common denominator of the stories of these people is where their journey ended, or where it broke the Czech foreign police. All is caught, they took the train from Budapest to Berlin. From their perspective, the sad paradox is that it was actually the last leg of their journey by train.

Refugees have to pay for food and lodging while in detention. Each of them pays $10 = CZK 242 per day: CZK 112 for food and CZK 130 for housing. No free lunch to be found here.
While Germany may be good to the homeless, the Czech Republic is not. Sounds reasonable to me.

Anti-immigration SVP wins Swiss election in swing to right
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] The anti-immigration Swiss People's Party (SVP) won the biggest share of the vote in Sunday's national parliamentary election, initial projections showed, keeping pressure on Bern to introduce quotas on people moving from the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
.

The result, based on initial projections by Swiss TV, gives the SVP 65 seats in the 200-member lower house of parliament, the largest number for any Swiss party in at least a century.

The SVP's success, coupled with gains made by the pro-business Liberal Party (FDP), led political commentators to talk of a "Rechtsrutsch" - move to the right - in Swiss politics.

Immigration was the central topic for voters amid a rush of asylum seekers from the Middle East and North Africa to Europe.

"The vote was clear," SVP leader Toni Brunner told Swiss television. "The people are worried about mass migration to Europe."

Sunday's result cements the position of the SVP as the dominant force in Swiss politics. It won 28 percent of the vote, translating into 11 extra seats, according to first projections from Swiss broadcaster SRF, up from 26.6 percent in the 2011 vote and roughly in line with expectations.

The election gains for the SVP, which was already the biggest single party in parliament, come 20 months after the Swiss in a referendum backed limits on foreigners living in Switzerland
...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell...
. The SVP had strongly supported the restrictions.

Lawmakers have until 2017 to reconcile this referendum result with an EU pact that guarantees the free movement of workers, otherwise the Swiss government must write quotas into law regardless of any compromise with the EU.

Thousands Stranded On New Migrant Route Through Europe
OPATOVAC, Croatia (AP) -- Tension was building among thousands of migrants as they remained stranded in fog and cold weather in the Balkans on Sunday in their quest to reach the new caliphate a better life in Western Europe, a day after Hungary closed its border with Croatia and the flow of people was redirected to a much slower route via Slovenia.

Tiny Slovenia has said it will only take in 2,500 people a day, significantly stalling the movement of people as they fled their countries in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. On Saturday, more than 6,000 people reached Croatia, but most of them were stuck in the country as well as in neighboring Serbia on Sunday- and thousands kept on arriving.
Tiny Slovenia should take none -- it can't handle any. Once again Europe is failing to deal with the source of the problem. That source is only partially Syria.
On the Serbian-Croatian border, tensions flared and scuffles erupted as hundreds of irritated migrants faced a cordon of Croatian policemen preventing them from entry.

The Grand Turk
CHP deputy: More people under arrest for tweeting than links to ISIL
[Hurriyet Daily News] Reiterating charges against the caretaker government of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) over their intelligence and security failure leading up to the Oct. 10 double suicide kaboom attack which killed at least 102 people in the capital city of Ankara, the deputy chair of the main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) has suggested more people were imprisoned for tweeting in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
than those who have been imprisoned due to their suspected links with the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL).

"Today, the number of those who are in prisons in Turkey for tweeting is more than those who are under arrest because of [their suspected links with] ISIL," CHP deputy chair Sezgin Tanrikulu said late on Oct. 17, during a visit to the eastern province of Malatya.

Tanrikulu and a group of CHP deputies were in Malatya to attend the funeral ceremony of Ata Önder Atabay, a teacher maimed in the Ankara bombings who departed this vale of tears in hospital on Oct. 16.

"Arresting and chasing everybody is easy but it is not easy only to chase, arrest and investigate ISIL which is at [President] Recep Tayyip Erdogan

's and the AKP's doorstep. If there weren't this protection, this massacre would not have happened," Tanrikulu said.

AKP is the source of instability in Turkey: MHP head
[Hurriyet Daily News] The source of the current instability in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
was the Justice and Development Party (AKP), Turkey's nationalist leader has said while delivering a speech to a huge crowd at an election rally in Istanbul.

"Turkey is going to the polls [again]... It is clear, in the current environment and conditions, the reason for instability [in Turkey] is the AKP," Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) head Devlet Bahceli said on Oct. 18, during his party's election rally in Istanbul's Yenikapi neighborhood, Cihan News Agency reported.

Bahceli said President Recep Tayyip Erdogan
... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him...
and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu had dragged Turkey into the snap polls set for Nov. 1 this year.

"Erdogan and Davutoglu, whose expectations were not met in the June 7 elections, dragged Turkey into an election again," Bahceli said.

Bahceli also remarked on the recent violence which has torn through the country since late July.

"Turkey has turned into bloodshed. Turkey is in trouble," Bahceli said.

Bahceli said the people of Turkey were fearful and anxious, recalling the Oct. 10 twin blasts that killed at least 102 civilians and maimed hundreds of others ahead of a peace rally in the Turkish capital.

"The Oct. 10 suicide kaboom disaster outside the Ankara train station was one of the bloodiest attacks in the history of the Turkish Republic. [At least] 102 [of] our citizens bit the dust and hundreds of others were maimed in this attack. Our country was directed to a fear tunnel," Bahceli said.

Bahceli criticized the caretaker AKP government and expressed his the anger he felt toward terrorist attacks in the country during his speech addressing supporters of his party, who waved Turkish flags and posters of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, Turkey's founder, and Alpaslan Turkes, the founder of the MHP.

"The AKP's interim government is handicapped and blind. Our homeland has turned into a mourning tent. Turkey is surrounded by human-looking monsters," Bahceli said.

Wiretaps reveal jihadist dedication of suspects
[Hurriyet Daily News] Recordings from police wiretaps of a senior turban known to have been linked with both al-Qaeda and the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) revealed his and his contacts' dedication to jihad.

Mustafa Dokumaci, who was allegedly involved in kabooms in the southeastern province of Diyarbakir and the district of Suruc earlier this year, as well as the Oct. 10 Ankara Massacre, has been under wiretap surveillance within the framework of an investigation into al-Qaeda since September 2013.

Dokumaci was accused of handling recruiting activities for a turban camp called the "Dokumacis" in Adiyaman, which was later revealed to have links to ISIL.

The jacket wallahs in the Oct. 10 attack, which killed at least 102 people, were identified as Yunus Emre Alagöz and Ömer Deniz Dundar, both of whom were members of the "Dokumaci" group.

A wiretap from Nov. 4, 2013, demonstrates how Dokumaci explained that they were fighting in Syria. Noting that they killed 45 people from the other side, Dokumaci says "Thank God," in this wiretap. The wiretap reveals that Dokumaci was in the Syrian town of Tal Abyad on the Turkish border and was accompanied by his spouse as well as by snuffies who came from Adiyaman.

During the same conversation on Nov. 4, 2013, Dokumaci said their group was "badly outflanked down by a crescent tactic." "There were deaders, but not from us, from [among] Arabs and East Turkestan," he said.

A wiretap from one day earlier reveals that Dokumaci sent a night vision device and a bag full of bullets to his contacts, a group of three.

The province of Adiyaman has become notorious in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire....
as a site of radicalism among poor youths. Last year, the Adiyaman Chief Public Prosecutor's Office filed a case against three people -- Mehmet Isbar, Salih Kucuktas and Dokumaci -- on charges of having links to al-Qaeda. The case is still ongoing.

Isbar, Kucuktas and Dokumaci were reported to be tried without arrest, but the investigation launched in the same case against 19 people, including the Dundar brothers and the Suruc bombing suspect, was later closed without coming to trial.

Seyh Abdurrahman Alagöz was implicated in the deadly Suruc bombing that killed 33 members of a socialist youth group and maimed more than 100 on July 20.

At least 16 other suspects, including Kasim Dere, Mehmet Isik, Mehmet Mustafa Cevik, Yakup Aktulum and Ridvan Yaman, who are listed in the roster of wanted suspects prepared by the national police force and the National Intelligence Agency (MIT), were also cleared in the investigation into the Dokumaci group.

India-Pakistan
RAW may try to kill PM, warns Punjab govt
[DAWN] The Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

home department said on Saturday it had received intelligence reports warning that RAW could carry out attempts on the lives of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf...
and Jamaat-ud-Dawa
...the front organization of Lashkar-e-Taiba...
(JuD) chief Hafiz Muhammad Saeed
...who would be wearing a canvas jacket with very long sleeves anyplace but Pakistain...
.

An official of the home department said on Saturday the warning was received two days ago that RAW (Research and Analysis Wing), India's intelligence agency, had already tasked its agents to kill the prime minister and the JuD chief.

According to a letter issued by the home department, RAW has made plans to attack "high-value targets" in Pakistain to create chaos on a wide scale.

Consequently, Mr Sharif and Hafiz Saeed
...founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba and its false-mustache offshoot Jamaat-ud-Dawa. The United Nations declared the JuD a terrorist organization in 2008 and Hafiz Saeed a terrorist as its leader. Hafiz, JuD and LeT are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Pak intel apparatus, so that amounted to squat...
had been conveyed the warning.

The agencies concerned and the prime minister's staff had been asked to ensure Mr Sharif's security, especially during his public appearances.

RAW officials were planning to portray the (said) actions as retaliatory strikes by the banned bully boy groups like Lashkar-e-Jhangvi
... a 'more violent' offshoot of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistain. LeJ's purpose in life is to murder anyone who's not of utmost religious purity, starting with Shiites but including Brelvis, Ahmadis, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Rosicrucians, and just about anyone else you can think of. They are currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of al-Qaeda ...
and Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistain to avenge recent counter-terrorist actions.

The letter said that RAW had also tasked its agents to gather all possible addresses of Hafiz Saeed in Punjab.

According to the letter, officials concerned had been directed to adopt precautions, besides exercising extra vigilance and taking heightened security measures at all tiers.

Police's security wing said that the JuD chief had also been asked to ensure his security.

India has been after Hafiz Saeed since the 2008 Mumbai terrorist attack, which it alleged was orchestrated by him.

Special Assistant to Prime Minister Musadik Malik was quoted by Geo TV as terming it a conspiracy. He said `we know how to protect our prime minister'.

US should refrain from fanning S. Asian instability: Sartaj
[DAWN] Advisor to the Prime Minister on National Security and Foreign Affairs Sartaj PrunefaceAziz
...Adviser to Pak Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on National Security and Foreign Affairs, who believes in good jihadis and bad jihadis as a matter of national policy...
while speaking to BBC Urdu on Saturday said the United States (US) should refrain from fanning instability in South Asia.
Pakistain should get rid of this slimy, two-faced creature, one of many problems facing South Asia.
The National Security Advisor's (NSA) statement follows international media reports which claim the US is ready to help Pakistain join the Nuclear Suppliers Group if it accepts certain restrictions on its nuclear programme.

Additionally, a US media report last Thursday claimed that American special operations analysts ─ just days before the Oct 3 US air attack on a Doctors Without Borders (MSF) hospital in Kunduz ─ were gathering intelligence on the facility because they believed it was being used by a Pak operative to coordinate Taliban activity.

The reports have surfaced just days before Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif
... served two non-consecutive terms as prime minister, heads the Pakistain Moslem League (Nawaz). Noted for his spectacular corruption, the 1998 Pak nuclear test, border war with India, and for being tossed by General Musharraf...
's October 20 visit to Washington, where he is expected to discuss the nuclear issue with US President Barack Obama
I am not a dictator!...
.

Sartaj Aziz rejected the notion that allegations regarding the Pak operative's presence in the hospital would impact talks with the super power.

He said Pakistain had already denied allegations implicating a Pak operative in Kunduz, adding that "the world knows Pakistain is committed to peace and prosperity in Afghanistan".
And then his lips fell off...

The NSA said that the purpose of talks between Pakistain and the US during Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's visit to Washington later this week will not be to reach a compromise on the extent of Pakistain's defence capabilities, but to discuss nuclear safety.

Sartaj said "Our main priority is to protect national interest and security, and we will not compromise on this."

He said efforts were under way to make Pakistain a member of the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG), and expressed hope that both Pakistain and India would be accepted as members of the NSG together.

Sartaj Aziz said the US can maintain whatever kind of relations it wishes to with India, but at a time when Pak-India relations are tense, the super power should not increase strategic and conventional imbalance in the region to the extent that there is a threat to regional security.

He said that many countries, including the US, wanted Pakistain and India to resolve their issues through dialogue, but for that it was important there was no regional imbalance.

The NSA said that Pakistain would welcome the steps the US took in order to improve the situation in Afghanistan.

He said US leadership had indicated an interest in dialogue with Afghanistan, but the decision ultimately rested with Afghan leadership. If the US wanted Pakistain to mediate the process, they would be ready to cooperate.

Sartaj said core issues to be discussed during the upcoming talks with the US include Pak-India relations, restoration of peace in Afghanistan and trade and investment opportunities.

School bombings fail to scare away girl students
[DAWN] Though snuffies bombed their school many times, the resolve of the students of the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Samand Khan village, to get education is not shaken.
A nation of Malalas, until they get married off to first cousins, when they become Mukhtaran Mai or get acid thrown on them.
The schoolgirls totaling over 500 have long been attending classes under the shade of trees and huts as the bombings destroyed the building of the school located in the Frontier Region Beautiful Downtown Peshawar
...capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (formerly known as the North-West Frontier Province), administrative and economic hub for the Federally Administered Tribal Areas of Pakistan. Peshawar is situated near the eastern end of the Khyber Pass, convenient to the Pak-Afghan border. Peshawar has evolved into one of Pakistan's most ethnically and linguistically diverse cities, which means lots of gunfire.
.

The building's only unaffected portion is a small room, which, despite having cracks, is used as a science laboratory for students.

In the absence of a building and other facilities like electricity and drinking water, enthusiasm of the students shows they're committed to getting education and that their families, especially male members, are not against girls education.

The school building was bombed repeatedly in 2008, 2011 and 2012, a teacher told Dawn.

She said snuffies targeted the school last in 2012 and destroyed it completely by detonating seven bombs planted at different points.

Iraq
War is heck: Hajj pilgrims in limbo can’t wait to return to ISIS-held Mosul
[Rudaw] It's a recent day at a mosque in Kirkuk and Hajji Jamal, 62, is sitting down dejectedly next to his old friend Abdullah. The men both look tired and angry, exposing the urgent and counter-intuitive problem they face: how to find the fastest way back inside the ISIS-held city of djinn-infested Mosul
... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn...
The problem started nearly two months ago, when the so-called Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) belied its fearsome reputation for cruelty and allowed some 600 Mosul residents, all men and women above the age of 60, to take part in the annual Hajj pilgrimage to the sacred Muslim city of Mecca in Soddy Arabia

Germany returns 50 Kurdish migrants to Erbil
[Rudaw] A group of 50 Kurdish migrants arrived in Erbil on Saturday from Germany where they had voluntarily asked authorities to deport them back to Kurdistan.

Some of the migrants had been on the road to Germany for months and others claimed to have spent as much as $20,000 to get there.

"I think thousands more will come back in coming weeks and months simply because it's more comfortable to live in Kurdistan," Ido Khider, a Yezidi Kurd told Rudaw at the airport referring to Kurdish migrants in Europe.

According to the Iraqi Ministry of Migration, some 25,000 people from Kurdistan region, mostly young men, have left the country as migrants since last year in hopes of asylum in a European country. Kurdish authorities have tried to dissuade young people from migration and asked for patience in the face of economic crisis in the region.

With an average growth of 10 percent a year from 2005 till 2014, the Kurdistan region experienced a major economic transformation that led to better standards of living than the rest of Iraq, which had been plunged into a sectarian civil war.

Baghdad has withheld the Kurdish Regional Government (KRG)'s share of national budget since February 2014, leaving the KRG with mounting pressure from civil servants who have received their monthly wages only after repeated delays.

The KRG says maintaining 80,000 Peshmerga troops along the border to hold back ISIS bully boyz and sheltering some 1.3 million refugees inside the region has added to its growing expenses.

"I still think being in a camp here is much more comfortable than waiting for hours only for some food in a European camp," Khider said. He said refugees from Syria are prioritized in the camps but even they face hardships as authorities struggle to accommodate greater numbers of migrants.

Another returning migrant, Samir Tahir, from Erbil, said the number of those who want to be deported to the Kurdistan region is growing every day.

"I think there are more Iraqi Kurds who want to be deported than those who really want to apply to stay," Tahir said.

"By now the number is maybe about 5,000 people who have applied to come back," he said.

German authorities have announced they will provide every deportee with a one-way return ticket and €1000 ($1,135).

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Four Israeli cities, citing security, ban Arab workers from schools
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] At least four Israeli cities, including the commercial capital Tel Aviv, have temporarily banned Arab laborers from working in their schools as they struggle to calm public fears fueled by the worst surge of Paleostinian street attacks in years.

Israel's cabinet also imposed more security measures on Sunday after further Paleostinian stabbings this weekend, widening police stop-and-frisk powers that will effectively allow them to search anyone on the street.

A party representing Israel's Arab minority called the municipalities' edicts "racist."

Israel's Interior Ministry, which oversees the municipalities, said it appealed to "all mayors to continue to act with respect and equality towards all their workers, irrespective of religion, ethnicity or gender." It did not ask them to repeal the restrictions.

Forty-one Paleostinians and seven Israelis have died in recent street violence, which was in part triggered by Paleostinians' anger over what they see as increased Jewish encroachment on Jerusalem's al-Aqsa mosque compound.

"We are preserving the status quo, we will continue to do so," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in public remarks on Sunday to his cabinet, referring to the site that is also revered by Jews as the location of two destroyed biblical temples.

Netanyahu is to meet U.S. Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry
Former Senator-for-Life from Massachussetts, self-defined war hero, speaker of French, owner of a lucky hat, conqueror of Cambodia, and current Secretary of State...
in Germany in the coming week as part of an effort by Washington to restore calm. Kerry also plans to hold talks in the Middle East with Paleostinian President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
, but no precise location has been announced.
An Nahar points out:
Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities have barred Jewish and Arab workers from schools due to fears of potential attacks, in a move criticized Sunday as discrimination against Arab Israelis.

The decision to ban cleaning and maintenance workers from schools when students are present comes after more than two weeks of Paleostinian unrest and knife attacks targeting Jews.

A spokeswoman for the Tel Aviv municipality confirmed the measure saying it applied to "both Jewish and Arab" workers and was taken due to the "sensitive situation."

Despite their advertising, only a very few America Muslims belong to CAIR. As I recall, most of their funding comes from Saudi Arabia.

What is Shariah and What Are It's Sources?
[CounterJihadReport] Instruction to Westerners, as it turns out, is strictly limited to understanding Islam in its early peaceful phases. In fact, it is a top priority of the Islamic Movement to discourage U.S. leaders from studying Islamic doctrine and law. As Edward Said famously argued in his 1978 book Orientalism, only those who can speak classical Arabic can understand the true meaning of Islam, so why read anything[s8] at all?

Muslims, however, are required to proceed on to eventual understanding of the complete sequence contained in the Quran and hadiths. This graduated progression to manage the Muslim community is what Ikhwan strategist Sayyid Qutb made as the object of his seminal jihadist monograph Milestones. The method of graduated progression is why it is impossible to understand the full import of Islam without mastering the doctrines of abrogation and its associated "progressive revelation."

Finally, progressive revelation along "milestones" tracks with the stepped-learning process that many national security and law enforcement officials have taken to calling "the self-radicalization process." Shariah itself calls for this evolution. The practice may or may not be properly described as "radical," but it certainly reflects the gradual revelation of Islam itself.
An interesting and informative tutorial.

Iran grants U.N. nuclear watchdog greater access
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Iran on Sunday notified the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency that it would apply a protocol granting inspectors greater access to its nuclear sites, a further step in the implementation of a historic deal struck with world powers, the U.N. nuclear watchdog said.

The announcement came as the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
's foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini and Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif were set to make a statement on the lifting of crippling sanctions on Tehran, as part of the so-called Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action signed in Vienna in July.

"On October 18, the director general of the ineffective International Atomic Energy Agency was informed by the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran that... Iran will provisionally apply the Additional Protocol to its Safeguards Agreement, pending its ratification by the (parliament)," the IAEA said in a statement.

The additional protocol is a voluntary agreement enabling the IAEA to gain greater access to Iran's nuclear facilities and research, to ensure that no atomic material is diverted to any covert weapons programme -- an aim denied strenuously by Tehran.

Iran had been a signatory to the protocol from 2003 until 2006 before pulling out of the agreement.

Under the landmark deal struck in July, Iran pledged to dramatically scale down its nuclear activities in order to render any effort to make an atomic bomb virtually impossible.

In return, the world powers must finalise the mechanism for lifting U.N. and Western sanctions.

For those left in Syria, life among the ruins takes on a ghostly air
[LA Times, sorry] - "Basically, it's Berlin after World War II," says Barazi, who as governor of Homs province has seen much of the area under his jurisdiction destroyed by Syria's civil war. He tries to put up a brave front.

"We have to face reality," he says. "Some of Homs will be rebuilt, but some will have to be torn down completely. We can't just look at all the ruins and feel sad and lament what happened."
There will be no Marshall plan for Syria. Saudi Arabia will not pay to rebuild Syria. Iran and Russia can't afford to either. Even if Putin wins, he has already lost. Syria is finished.
They'll rebuild, as they have rebuilt before. Picturesque historic ruins have never created themselves, and the Arab world has a great many of them.

'Drop-and-Forget': Russia Develops Supersonic KAB-250 'Smart Bomb'.
[MFS-TheOtherNews] The latest version of Russia's KAB-250 precision-guided bomb will soon complete trials, Russian media reported on Saturday.

The KAB-250 is a follow-on to the larger KAB-500 PGM, which made its combat debut in September in Syria. There are two versions of the 250-kilogram KAB: a laser-guided version and a satellite-guided version.

Based on the "drop-and-forget" principle, the KAB-250 guided aerial bomb incorporates the latest advances in science and technology, including the experience of its KAB-500 predecessor.

The inertial guidance system directs the bomb towards the target area. Two to three kilometers from the target the bomb's onboard computer commands the thermal homing head to acquire the designated target.

The KAB-250's thermal homing head then compares the acquired image with the reference picture laid down in its memory before discharge, and corrects the trajectory so that the radius of the deviation does not exceed three meters.

The KAB-250 has a fragmentation warhead designed to destroy lightly vulnerable materiel, thin-skinned vehicles, and other enemy installations. The bomb can be dropped individually or in salvoes.

The KAB-250 is 10.5 feet long, weighs a total of 565 pounds, with a 365 pound warhead and a 200-pound explosive.

The KAB-250LG-E's total weight is 256 kg, with a warhead of 165 kg and explosive weighing 96 kg.

The bomb is 3.2 m long, with a diameter of 255 mm and a wingspan of 550 mm. It has a complex, compact tail design and is fitted with four long-chord, short-span wings to increase its glide range. Drop altitude is 1-10 km, aircraft drop speed is 200-350 m/s.

According to Krylov, the KAB-250 was developed in response to the development of the Small Diameter Bomb (SDB) by the United States to equip its F-22 Raptor and F-35 Lightning II fifth-generation fighters.

The KAB-250 has a fragmentation warhead designed to destroy lightly vulnerable materiel, thin-skinned vehicles, and other enemy installations. The bomb can be dropped individually or in salvoes. The aircraft carrying the KAB-250LG-Es must be fitted with a laser illumination system or the target can be illuminated by a forward air controller.

Flow of foreign fighters from Europe to ISIL slowing down: NATO sources

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) has attracted 30,000 imported muscle from over 100 countries in the world since 2011 amid a decrease from Europe but an increase from Russia, particularly among Chechens, NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions...
sources have told the Hurriyet Daily News.

The group also attracts women, sources said, adding that about 25 percent of the people who come from Europe to join ISIL are women. A large number of them are reportedly under 16 years old.

"The jihadist group currently controls the fate of between 5 million and 7 million people. It functions as a government and as a state, even if we don't like to call it a state," a source said.

ISIL controls a territory unlike al-Qaeda in the past, controlling about 15 percent of the territory of Syria and 15 percent of the territory in Iraq, according to NATO officials.

"It attracts revenue from professional local taxation services and through local resources. In Syria and Iraq it controls water supplies," the source added.

ISIL does not only destroy artistic treasures in Palmyra and other ancient sites, but gains money from the illicit sale of removable and marketable treasures. Last year, it also earned 250 million dollars in ransom money and 2 million dollars a day from illicit oil transfers out of the region, according to NATO intelligence information.

"ISIL now operates a kind of hybrid organization. It has military, tanks, aircraft and other equipment mainly stolen from Syrians and the Iraqi military, which was mainly supplied by the Americans.

"It can quickly change tactics as we see in response to Arclight airstrikes, producing small units," the source said.

The jihadist group has very effective social media and spends 1.2 million dollars a year on social media campaigns. ISIL operates about 46,000 Twitter accounts and posts some 250,000 tweets every day, sources said.
