Washington DC hits 900 carjackings over one year on Thanksgiving Day
[JustTheNews] An increase in carjackings come as part of elevated juvenile crime rates in the nation’s capital.

The Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) announced the nation’s capital has surpassed 900 carjackings over the past year as Americans.

The MPD’s carjacking dashboard shows 901 total year-to-date carjackings and only 157 year-to-date carjacking arrests. In all, 77% of carjackings committed in the federal district involved a firearm.

In addition, 66% of arrests involved a juvenile defendant, highlighting D.C.’s ongoing problem with youth crime at a time when the D.C. Attorney General is being criticized for his comparatively soft approach to youth crimes.

At an April community event, Attorney General Brian Schwalb (D.) told attendees that “kids are kids” and should be treated differently than adults when it comes to crime.

The MPD formed a carjacking task force in 2021 in order to combat the rise in this crime. Just recently, the city also provided free dashboard cameras to ride share and delivery vehicles that drive in D.C.’s high crime areas in an effort to curtail carjackings.

MPD advises D.C. residents to lock their cars, park in a safe area and stay alert of surroundings as the city experiences a rise in carjackings. This month Mayor Muriel Bowser declared a public emergency over the juvenile crime crisis alongside the opioid epidemic.

"Although each of these urgent situations are, to some extent, geographically concentrated, the nature of the two emergencies demands city-wide responses,” Bowser said in a press release.

So now carjacking is a juvenile crime? When I was a kid juvy crime was smoking in the boy's room or teepeeing a house.

'Ram raiding' and 'crash and grab' new violent burglary trend targeting brick-and-mortar businesses
[FoxBusinessNews] Crime involves crashing a stolen vehicle through a storefront

A group of thieves in a stolen pickup truck slammed into the front of a Seattle boutique shop for vintage and collectible clothing called Rush Hour last week – shattering the front window and running inside to steal their stock.

All was not lost, according to the owners, who in an Instagram video said they hoped to recoup some of their losses on the busiest shopping day of the year, Black Friday, with valuable items that had not been stolen.

Three days after they posted the video, the thieves returned, this time crashing through the store front with a minivan before pilfering high-ticket items left behind in the first break-in.

It is an example of a crime wave targeting brick-and-mortar stores around the country. The crime, referred to as "ram raiding" and also "crash and grab," depending on where it happens, involves driving a vehicle through a store's front window to break in and loot.

The Wall Street Journal highlighted the issue over the weekend, calling them "drive-through burglaries."

Targets have ranged from small boutiques like Rush Hour to luxury outlets and big box chains.

"SPD has been seeing this type of tactic of utilizing a vehicle to ram a business' entry in order to steal merchandise from within occurring in multiple incidents," Seattle Police Public Information Officer Juddina Gulpan told Fox News Digital. "It is unknown if these incidents are related."

The crimes tend to occur in the early morning hours, leaving shopkeepers showing up to work to find devastating damage.

Last Wednesday, a crew hit an Oakland, California, Trader Joe's store around 4 a.m., the San Francisco Times reported.

A group of five to six suspects hit a marijuana shop in Seattle around 2 a.m. Tuesday, according to FOX 13 Seattle. The chain's vice president told the outlet that the state should protect her businesses, which had been robbed three times in 10 days.

"The tax revenue that we produce across the state should be used in some sort of a security system," Diane Walter told the station.

Dockside Cannabis, another Seattle pot chain, has been hit more than a half-dozen times this year, according to the station.

In late October, a man in a stolen Jeep slammed into a clothing store around 5 a.m., and four others rushed inside to steal merchandise, FOX 32 Chicago reported.

The defiant owner, in an Instagram video, said he was offering free Nike sneakers to the first customer to show up after the break-in.

"Unfortunately today we woke up with a f----ing Jeep inside our store," he said. "But you know how we roll here, that s--- don't stop us."

At Osage County Guns, in the suburbs of St. Louis, a group of teens crashed through the steel front doors around 2 a.m. on Sept. 3, 2022, causing more than $200,000 in damage while stealing more than 30 guns worth a combined $28,000, according to John Dawson, the store's general manager.

"It was a total nightmare," he told Fox News Digital. "Our retail store was closed for five weeks and surprisingly, the biggest hurdle was getting new doors."

The shop had no glass windows or doors and was protected by bollards, he said, but a design flaw left the thieves just enough room to squeeze through and crash into the steel front doors.

Video shows them fanning out inside, smashing glass cases and taking what they wanted before they ran outside and fled in two other stolen cars.

Dawson said he was worried about a lack of political will to properly prosecute these crimes. None of the suspects who entered his store were older than 17, he said.

Osage County Guns has since augmented its bollards with 4,000-pound concrete blocks to prevent future attacks, he said. And although they are much larger, they also cost just a fraction of installing new posts.

The young thieves left behind tens of thousands of dollars in damaged merchandise – including guns far more valuable than the ones they stole, Dawson said.

"You only steal what you can sell," said Paul Mauro, a retired NYPD inspector who recently wrote a Fox News Digital op-ed about rising property crime. "These kids don't need 30 guns – they're going to be looking to fence it."

To combat the crime wave, he said, prosecutors need to get serious about holding the suspects accountable – and the people who buy and sell the goods they steal.

Otherwise, catch-and-release and no-bail policies are crushing brick-and-mortar store owners, he said.

"When you reconfigure an entire criminal justice system without any input from the enforcement side, you're gonna get this kind of outcome," he told Fox News Digital.

Retail theft is already a large – and growing – problem for stores around the country. The National Retail Federation reported last year that the problem cost the industry $94.5 billion in 2021, a 4% increase from the year prior.

Organized retail crime as a whole climbed by 26.5% in that span, according to the federation, affecting more than 80% of its members.

Derek Chauvin, Convicted in George Floyd's Killing, Stabbed in Prison, 'Seriously Injured'
[RedState] Derek Chauvin, the former police officer convicted in the murder of George Floyd, was reportedly stabbed and “seriously injured” by another inmate at a federal prison in Arizona.

The incident was reported by the Associated Press, and corroborated by several other news outlets, late Friday night.

Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of murdering George Floyd, was stabbed by another inmate and seriously injured Friday at a federal prison in Arizona, a person familiar with the matter told The Associated Press.

The attack happened at the Federal Correctional Institution, Tucson, a medium-security prison that has been plagued by security lapses and staffing shortages. The person was not authorized to publicly discuss details of the attack and spoke to the AP on the condition of anonymity.

The Bureau of Prisons confirmed that an incarcerated person was assaulted at FCI Tucson at around 12:30 p.m. local time Friday. In a statement, the agency said responding employees contained the incident and performed “life-saving measures” before the inmate, who it did not name, was taken to a hospital for further treatment and evaluation.

No employees were injured and the FBI was notified, the Bureau of Prisons said. Visiting at the facility, which has about 380 inmates, has been suspended.

Chauvin was convicted in 2021 for the murder of George Floyd, a black man, during an arrest in Minneapolis in May 2020. The footage of the incident sparked nationwide protests, riots, and a national debate about police misconduct and a lack of accountability in law enforcement.

The Supreme Court recently denied Chauvin’s request for an appeal, upholding his conviction and further cementing his sentence.

Reports suggest that Chauvin’s stabbing wasn’t an isolated incident in federal prisons--or at that facility.

Chauvin’s stabbing is the second high-profile attack on a federal prisoner in the last five months. In July, disgraced sports doctor Larry Nassar was stabbed by a fellow inmate at a federal penitentiary in Florida.

It is also the second major incident at the Tucson federal prison in a little over a year. In November 2022, an inmate at the facility’s low-security prison camp pulled out a gun and attempted to shoot a visitor in the head. The weapon, which the inmate shouldn’t have had, misfired and no one was hurt.

Eric Nelson, Chauvin’s lawyer, argued for keeping him out of the general population due to the possibility that he would become a target. In Minnesota, he was kept mostly in solitary confinement for this reason.

The stabbing comes as the federal Bureau of Prisons has become the target of criticism and scrutiny over its apparent inability to protect the safety of its prisoners.

An ongoing AP investigation has uncovered deep, previously unreported flaws within the Bureau of Prisons, the Justice Department’s largest law enforcement agency with more than 30,000 employees, 158,000 inmates and an annual budget of about $8 billion.
AP reporting has revealed rampant sexual abuse and other criminal conduct by staff, dozens of escapes, chronic violence, deaths and severe staffing shortages that have hampered responses to emergencies, including inmate assaults and suicides..

  • Derek Chauvin, currently serving a 22-year sentence for the murder of George Floyd, was stabbed in an Arizona prison on Friday

  • Medical staff inside the Tucson facility provided him with 'lifesaving measures' and he was taken to hospital, where he is believed to be in a stable condition

  • Chauvin, 47, was transferred to the medium-security Tucson prison from a high-security prison in Minneapolis in August 2022

Trans woman is charged with threatening to copy Nashville school shooting and rape Christian girls in bathrooms after cops intercepted sick livestream of them saying 'I am gonna f*** f*** them until they're dead'
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Guess he wasn't a California Imam.
  • Nashville, Illinois resident Jason Lee Willie, 47, who identifies as 'Alexia N. Willie,' allegedly modeled threats after the transgender Nashville Christian Covenant School shooter, Audrey 'Aiden' Hale

  • The charges, filed on Nov. 7, include threats to kill and rape children, inject people with HIV, and target black people

  • 'I catch your daughters in them bathrooms alone, I am gonna f*ck them. I mean I am gonna f*ck f*ck them until they're dead,' Willie allegedly said

Willie faces trial on January 16, 2024, after being released on $0 bond multiple times, citing Illinois' SAFE-T Act.

Federal prosecutors noted Willie's release after mocking police during a prior arrest, emphasizing safety concerns and lenient repercussions.

Released from state custody on August 17, Willie's roommate reported concerns about firearms training on August 24.

Report: Moderna Engaged in Covert Operations to Control Online Criticism of Vaccines
[Breitbart] Moderna, known for its mRNA coronavirus vaccine, reportedly engaged in extensive surveillance and influence operations, attempting to remove criticism or pushback against its vaccine from online discourse.

UnHerd reports that Moderna, the biotech firm raised to prominence by its mRNA coronavirus vaccine, is now at the center of a complex and controversial situation. While it achieved a staggering $100 billion valuation during the pandemic, recent reports suggest the company ventured beyond pharmaceutical innovation into the world of surveillance and public influence.

According to the report from UnHerd, Moderna developed an intricate network of monitoring that it aimed to use to influence the public discourse on vaccines. Central to this operation is a collaboration with Public Good Projects (PGP), a drug industry-funded NGO, and former law enforcement officials, aimed at combating what the company considers to be vaccine misinformation. However, this initiative’s scope and methods have sparked significant concerns about the blurring lines between public health advocacy and corporate surveillance.

During the pandemic, Moderna transformed almost overnight from a fledgling biotech firm to a household name, thanks to the widespread use of its mRNA vaccine. However, as the demand for vaccinations waned, so did Moderna’s earnings. In response, Moderna not only increased vaccine prices but also embarked on a marketing campaign to maintain its relevance in the public health sphere.

The company’s surveillance arm, led by Nikki Rutman, a former FBI analyst, monitors a vast array of mainstream and alternative media outlets. Utilizing advanced technology like Talkwalker’s “BlueSilk” AI, the team tracks vaccine-related conversations across millions of websites globally. High-risk alerts are raised for narratives that could potentially harm Moderna’s interests or bolster anti-vaccine sentiments.

This proactive approach to monitoring and influencing vaccine discourse extends to scrutinizing public figures like Elon Musk and Russell Brand. Moderna’s reporting on public figures’ comments on vaccines does not necessarily dispute their claims but flags them as misinformation if they are perceived to encourage vaccine hesitancy.

The partnership between Moderna and PGP, however, is particularly interesting. UnHerd claims that the companies initially collaborated on a program called “Stronger” in 2021-22, which aimed to identify misinformation and shape content decisions on social media, but that the relationship has grown between the pharmaceutical firm and the NGO. PGP, with its extensive access to Twitter data and influence in formulating pandemic-related speech policies, has been pivotal in guiding Moderna’s strategy.

Is Bill Gates' reputation as the world's most noble philanthropist about to be torn to shreds by a new book which claims his billions do more harm than good?
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] He was deserted by wife Melinda over his rumoured philandering and embarrassed by revelations about his friendship with Jeffrey Epstein. The past few years haven't been kind to Bill Gates' image.

But no matter how ugly the headlines have been for the nerdy Microsoft co-founder, formerly the world's richest man, we've been able to reassure ourselves that — personal foibles aside — he's one of the good guys.

For didn't he and his former wife Melinda pledge to give away 95 per cent of their vast fortune and lean on other billionaires to be similarly generous?

And didn't the most influential power couple on the planet set up the world's largest private charity, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation that has already spent billions on alleviating poverty, malnutrition and disease and whose current $67 billion endowment is more than most countries' GDP? Surely all that counts for more than a wandering eye at the office and an ill-chosen friendship with Jeffrey Epstein, a paedophile conman courting the rich and powerful?

Not according to a trenchant new book on 68-year-old Gates and his philanthropy.

China-Japan-Koreas
China adds massive amounts to oil inventories
[FoxNews] The Energy Department is asking for bid prices to add around 3 million barrels to the strategic petroleum reserve. Administration officials say the additional oil will begin to be added in January. It’s just a drop in the bucket compared to the nearly 300 million barrels President Biden has released since he took office. While the U.S. stockpile was declining, China was adding to its reserves.

"I think China is looking ahead at the future and seeing that geopolitically, economically, there's a great deal of uncertainty and volatility in the world," American Exploration and Production Council CEO Anne Bradbury said.

In November 2021, President Biden announced the U.S. and other countries would release millions of barrels from their oil stockpiles. At the time, even China had said it would tap its reserves.

"They all agreed to release additional oil from the reserves, and China may be doing so as well," Biden said in December 2021.

It appears China never sold from its reserves after Biden’s remarks.

"We have no evidence to show that China drew down its strategic reserves in conjunction with the November 2021 strategic draw," Managing Director of Clearview Energy Partners Kevin Book said. "The reason probably has something to do with China's own perception of its security. They probably didn't want to put themselves at any more risk."

China’s National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration said at the time that the sales would occur close to the Lunar New Year. That fell on Feb. 1 in 2022. On Feb. 4, 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Beijing for the Winter Olympics. Russia’s invasion of Ukraine was just 20 days away.

As Russian troops gathered at the Ukrainian border, the White House threatened sanctions against financial institutions. The administration pushed back against concerns China could help Russia avoid the sanctions.)

"China may want Russia as its junior partner for gas or cheap oil. But let's not pretend it's anything else," White House Deputy National Security Adviser Daleep Singh said during the announcement.

Days later, the invasion officially began, prompting U.S. economic sanctions against Russia. By March, the U.S. had added oil sanctions. The European Union reached an agreement in May, announcing it would back most Russian oil by the end of 2022. By then, the U.S. and allies had agreed to release millions of barrels from their reserves over several months to combat high prices. Meanwhile, China was buying and stockpiling cheap oil.

"When Putin weaponized energy, basically it sent a shock wave to Europe, our allies, and we weren't able to help them because we weren't energy secure ourselves," Sen. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., said.

European Union member states are mandated to have at least 90 days of crude oil in reserves. After the drawdowns, nearly half of European countries fell below their 90-day target.

"The EU is really ground zero for supply disruptions over the last couple of years as they try to wean themselves off of Russian oil and natural gas," Bradbury said. "The strategic reserves are critical, and they're going to continue to be critical moving forward."

The U.S. sold some of its reserves to China. The Energy Department announced Unipec America Incorporated purchased nearly 1 million barrels. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China International United Petroleum and Chemical Co. Ltd.

China does not disclose how much crude oil flows in or out of its strategic reserves, but analysts point to an increase in imports from cheap sellers like Russia and Iran. Trade data reveals China could be sitting on a massive stockpile of oil.

"China depends on imported energy for about 25% of the energy it consumes. So having energy in reserve when you're that dependent on imports is extremely important," Book said.

Data from S&P Global estimates China’s crude oil inventory, which compromises its commercial and strategic petroleum reserve, could be more than 1.1 billion barrels.

China imports cheap oil from countries facing U.S. sanctions, like Russia and Iran. Imports from Russia increased by nearly 23% in the first half of 2023 to more than 2 million barrels per day. China is Iran’s top customer, buying an estimated 1 million barrels per day in 2023.

Iranian oil is often relabeled as originating from countries like Malaysia, the UAE or Oman to avoid sanctions. However, oil market experts say China’s oil strategy has had little impact on the overall market.

"It doesn't directly affect the global market in the sense that the oil price essentially reflects the global supply and demand balance," Book said. "If China didn't buy the oil from Russia and Venezuela and Iran, then maybe somebody else would."

Food stamp costs jump 5% in August
Would that be from the .5M 1st quarter immigrants?
[JustTheNews] The cost of food stamps jumped 5.3% to $7.5 billion in August, the highest amount since March when federal pandemic assistance ended.

The cost of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, formerly known as food stamps, had been decreasing. The federal SNAP program costs went from $11.01 billion in December 2022 to $7.14 billion as of July 2023 as states ended emergency benefits put in place during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture stated that the August data was preliminary, but the increase may be due to disaster benefits states offer.

The number of people on food stamps nationally increased from 41.3 million in July to 41.8 million in August.

A SNAP spokeswoman said in an email to The Center Square that there are three types of disaster benefits that could impact SNAP benefit amounts from month to month.

SNAP gives out "early issuance" benefits that allows SNAP households to prepare for a natural disaster by receiving their benefits earlier than usual.

SNAP also provides replacement benefits for regular food stamp recipients who have their food lost during a disaster. The food assistance program also may grant temporary benefits to people who suddenly need assistance due to a disaster.

For example, the state of Michigan in August approved replacement food assistance for residents impacted by a storm that knocked out the power in a 10-county area in southeast Michigan.

The amount of the replacement for food lost during the outage was equal to up to one month's food assistance benefits. The average person on food stamps nationally received $180 a month in August.

#6  I recall an actual welfare fraud case in the Central Valley of California in the early 2010's that involved Middle Eastern immigrants who ran a remote Stop and Rob style store-front gas station. They did a huge food stamp volume business, with monthly reimbursements over 300 k in EBT/SNAP sales. When investigators actually raided the place most of the shelf stock and food-stuffs that were not Halal were past Best-By dates, often significantly, and no where near the quantities for the level of sales claimed. But most telling, was the pre-raid surveillance that revealed relatively low daily customer traffic, far too few to account for the sales/reimbursement volume.
Later LE interviews had locals reporting that the shop owners would offer 40 cents on the dollar for the stamp account balances in cash. Turned out the entire set-up was fronted by Paki ex-pats with Hawala connections, and the US banking deposit safeguards for the volume of fraud were bypassed because the money went into Hawala channels and disappeared into the mists overseas

I cannot imagine the systems is any less corrupt these days.

Europe
German intelligence services prevented a coup in the best traditions of the Weimar Republic
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Gregor Spitzen

[REGNUM] Almost a year has passed since the German authorities, with great noise and pomp, stopped the coup attempt by the Reichsburger movement. Then operetta nationalists, degenerate aristocrats, retired military officers and third-rate politicians were preparing to stage a real putsch in the best traditions of the Weimar Republic and plunge the country of victorious democracy into the abyss of an ominous dictatorship.

Let us clarify that Reichsburgers are people who do not recognize the Federal Republic of Germany and its democratic structures. According to estimates by the Office for the Protection of the Constitution, in 2022, about 23 thousand people in Germany belonged to the “Reichsburgers” and similar organizations “United Patriots” and “Supporters of Self-Government”.

On December 7, 2022, many honest German citizens, accustomed to unconditionally believing the printed word and the blue screen, experienced a real shock. The media told them that a group of extremists, at best reminiscent of members of the inner circle of “Dr. Evil” from the kitschy Austin Powers films, were going to raise their beloved chancellor and popularly adored ministers to the pitchforks. They also allegedly planned to seize the Reichstag and from there dictate their evil but unyielding will to their confused fellow citizens.

Prince Henry XIII Reus , the alleged leader of the putschists, a representative of one of the old noble families and the “heir” to the empty throne of the German Reich, was spectacularly paraded in front of the cameras, handcuffed and under escort . According to the directors of this performance, this confirmed the validity of the accusations of the German intelligence services and law enforcement agencies in the planned conspiracy.

Certain politicians, among whom Interior Secretary Nancy Feather
...actually Nancy Faeser, per DooDahMan...
was especially zealous , of course, kept the tension going. However, after the first few days of seething passions, the hysteria about the coup on the pages of the press gradually began to wane.

Journalists in the first echelon publications, worried about their professional reputation, gradually began to realize that a bunch of clowns, harmless city madmen and unrecognized “geniuses”, fired from work due to incomplete official compliance, clearly do not belong to a deeply conspiratorial organization that aims to - really serious goals.

Many experts agreed that the “Conspiracy of the Reichsburgers” was nothing more than a political technology, a stuffing into the information field designed to shift the focus of public attention from Germany’s economic problems. In a certain sense, he completed his task, and, it would seem, this story could be safely forgotten.

However, the fact that a year later it was revived and again thrown into the masses raises serious questions about the competence of those responsible for working with the public in the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the federal republic. The fact that a joke repeated twice becomes stupid, and repeated three times becomes an anecdote, seems to have not been heard in these institutions.

Footage of the raids, which were carried out on November 23, 2023 by several hundred police officers in eight federal states of Germany at the request of the Bavarian Prosecutor General's Office, caused burning shame among people with critical thinking.

Police in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, North Rhine-Westphalia, Schleswig-Holstein, Brandenburg, Hamburg and Lower Saxony seized computers, smartphones, and storage media. A total of 21 properties were searched and Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann said the suspects ranged in age from 25 to 74. It is emphasized that during the raids, even a weapon for firing blank cartridges was found in one of the suspects!

The prerequisite for the activation of law enforcement officers was the accusation of creating a criminal organization.

The starting point of the investigation was monitoring of the Telegram messenger. There, according to the authorities, administrators of several channels organized “mass contacts with government officials by telephone and email in order to force them to make decisions in the interests of association members . ” Which, translated into human language, seems to mean organizing DDOS attacks and bot invasions.

According to the indictment, these actions were aimed at destabilizing the Federal Republic of Germany and its state institutions. In addition, the attackers intended to prevent or at least impede the legitimate actions of the state. “The interlocutors of the suspects, for example, were confronted with the theories of the Reichsburger, accused of committing war crimes and crimes against the person, insulted, and in some cases the Reichsburgers threatened them with violence,” the investigation said in a press release.

At the center of the case is 58-year-old Telegram channel administrator Johannes M. from the city of Olching in Bavaria. This person was already arrested in November 2021. He was then charged with creating a criminal organization, inciting people and coercion; the proceedings are still ongoing.

The suspect, whose channels have several thousand subscribers, is considered a follower of several conspiracy myths. Among other things, he appealed to his readers to “commit criminal offenses and spread insults . ” For example, the investigation claims that in one of the posts posted, the suspect insisted that police officers should be shot “in accordance with the law.”

Be that as it may, the conspiracy that threatens the very foundations of the constitutional order of Germany has now been uncovered, the evil has been punished, and the responsible employees of the German law enforcement agencies will certainly be awarded the highest awards.

It is still difficult to believe that leading German media and officials at the rank of federal ministers are discussing this nonsense seriously.
