Two dead in Brussels gun rampage: Man claiming to be ISIS member avenging stabbing murder of US-Palestinian boy, 6, opens fire on group wearing Swedish football shirts ahead of Euro 2024 qualifier - then goes on the run
Responding to this story from yesterday, though we’ve seen that any excuse will do for the jihad-inclined.
Update in comments: He’s dead, Jim.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Brussels was brought to a standstill last night after two people were killed when a gunman claiming to be a member of ISIS went on a rampage and opened fire on a group of Swedish football fans.

The gunman is said to have begun shooting at the men as they passed through Boulevard d'Ypres just a few minutes north of the city's famous Grand Plaza.

The Swedes were wearing their team's jerseys and were believed to be on their way to a match at King Baudouin Stadium, where Sweden were playing Belgium. A third person is said to be seriously injured.

The alleged attacker, named by local media as Abdesalem Lassoued, used the name 'Slayem Slouma' to boast about the two murders on Facebook, adding he sought to avenge the killing of a six-year-old US-Palestinian boy.

Speaking in Arabic, he celebrated the slaughter, and said he committed them in the name of ISIS.

The shooter remains at large. Police confirmed that the man in the video - wearing an orange jacket, black scarf, yellow baseball hat and heavy black beard - was the one they were searching for in relation to the attack.

The match between Belgium and Sweden was later abandoned, with players and fans locked inside the stadium for two and a half hours until they were allowed out.

The city's terror alert has been raised to a level 4 - its highest, with the spokesman for the Belgian federal prosecutor telling people to 'Go home and stay at home as long as the threat has not been eradicated'.

Footage shared online shows the alleged shooter dressed in a fluorescent orange jacket arriving at the scene on his moped.

The alleged shooter then ran after several people as they flee into a building, while firing from an automatic rifle.

Harrowing footage of the attack taken by bystanders shows a man shooting several times using a large weapon while shouting in Arabic, as members of the public run for their lives.

Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws reports the gunman used an automatic rifle and fled the scene on his scooter.

He is reported to have said he was avenging the stabbing of six-year-old US-Palestinian boy Wadea Al-Fayoume, who was knifed to death in Plainfield, Illinois, on Saturday morning.

The gunman was travelling on a moped, and was heard to shout 'Allahu Akabar' - Arab for God is the Greatest - by witnesses.

An investigating source said: 'He was also screaming about carrying out a revenge attack. He was shooting at various people, and hit a number of them. This had all the hallmarks of a terrorist attack.'

The source said there was also a video circulating on social media in which the attacker explains having to 'take revenge' by killing three people from Sweden.

The suspect, who was wearing a crash helmet and fluorescent jacket, was brandishing a 'Kalashnikov-style' weapon, and had also fired at man in the lobby of a nearby building.

The emergency services arrived in large numbers within minutes, but no suspect was arrested.

The investigating source added: 'The alleged perpetrator has posted a video in which he is a member of ISIS'.

The claim was also published by Sudinfo, one of the largest news outlets in Belgium, which said the Facebook post shows the man 'boasting about having murdered infidels.'

It adds: 'In his very violent speech, he said he had shot two people to avenge the Muslims and that we live and die for our religion.'

A Belgium government spokesman said representatives of the country's security services, public prosecutor's office and cabinet had gathered at a Crisis Centre, to discuss the terrorist motive.

Also Swedes cast so many votes for the Sweden Democrats (a sensible immigration party) that they had to be included in the current government and are making their influence known in tightening immigration requirements and even deporting some of the worst troublemakers.

4th Iranian 'special interest alien' apprehended this month in Texas, US customs confirms
[NYPOST] US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) says four Iranians have been apprehended in Texas since the beginning of the month, adding that they are considered "special interest aliens."

CBP sources told Fox News that one Iranian man in his 40s was taken into custody on Sunday morning in Eagle Pass, Texas, after crossing the southern border at about 3 a.m.

The source added that the Iranian gave himself up to border protection agents after making the illegal crossing.

The man, along with the other three Iranians are considered "special interest aliens" because they are from countries identified by the US government as having conditions that promote or protect terrorism or potentially pose some sort of national security threat to the US.

"Special interest aliens" also undergo additional vetting and questioning after being apprehended.

Last week, CBP agents apprehended two Lebanese nationals in Eagle Pass, who were also considered to be "special interest aliens."

CBP has also apprehended an Egyptian man in his 40s. Separately, in the Rio Grande Valley Sector, officials have apprehended 19 Iranians and 17 Syrians since Monday.

49K Migrants Apprehended in 28 Days in One Arizona Border Sector
[Breitbart] Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents apprehended more than 49,000 migrants who illegally crossed the border from Mexico into Arizona during the past 28 days, according to unofficial Border Patrol reports.

Tucson Sector Chief Patrol Agent John Modlin posted a report on X indicating that his agents apprehended 13,300 migrants during the past week. The apprehensions led to the filing of 126 federal criminal cases.

This is the fourth consecutive week where Tucson Sector agents made more than 11,000 arrests during a single week.

In addition to the migrant arrests, Tucson Sector agents carried out 588 migrant rescues and interdicted 25 human smuggling attempts, Modlin reported.

This week’s apprehension report brings the total for the past 28 days to nearly 49,300, according to Modlin’s unofficial reports.

During the recently ended FY23, Tucson Sector agents apprehended more than 372,000 migrants. This is an increase of nearly 50 percent over the prior fiscal year.

Official numbers for September and the year-end report for FY23 will likely be released late in October.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
It's a trap, warns UK spy chief, as Israel prepares for months of brutal urban warfare against Hamas in bombed-out Gaza
[Bus Insider India] Israel's expected invasion may plunge it into months of brutal urban warfare on the streets of Gaza and in its maze of tunnels, The New York Times reported, but a former UK intelligence chief warned that it's a trap.

Israel has long avoided an invasion of this scale — which could be the largest since its 2006 invasion of Lebanon, per the Times — as it was reluctant to fight in the densely populated, narrow Gaza Strip.

Israeli soldiers have been given additional urban environment training in recent days to help them fight in the ruins of Gaza, the NYT reported. They will face a highly motivated enemy fighting on its home turf, using exploding roadside bombs and booby-trapping buildings.

Hamas will also aim to exploit its extensive network of tunnels in northern Gaza to ambush Israeli forces from behind, a Hamas officer, speaking anonymously, told the NYT.

But following Hamas' wave of surprise terrorist attacks on October 7, in which at least 1,300 people in Israel died, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have responded with a barrage of airstrikes. They are now gearing up to send a mass force into Gaza itself.

The IDF aims to take out the military and political leadership of the Palestinian militant group Hamas and recover up to 150 hostages taken by the group during last week's attacks.

#1  Hamas probably did not expect Israel to invade Gaza, just drop a few bombs and call it a day.

Hamas bully boys have no desire to fight real soldiers. That's why they attacked civilian targets, not military bases on October 7.

Israel no long cares what the world thinks, which is Hamas' worst fear.

#2  The nature of the attack suggests that Hamas intended to provoke a response, and they are going to get it. Iran is moving the chess pieces, doesn't matter what anyone in Hamas thinks - they're raised not to.

#3  ^Relax. It doesn't matter what Hamas planned. Given time to prepare, IDF will turn their plans on their heads.

‘From friend to enemy': Palestinians in Israel suspended from jobs over war
[Aljazeera] On Saturday, October 7, Noura* went to work as usual early in the morning at the hospital in Israel where she’s been employed for more than two years.

The Palestinian health care professional had taken a quick glance at the news, but in the rush to make it to work in time, she had not fully understood the magnitude of what was happening in the country: an attack by the Palestinian armed group Hamas on southern Israel that would leave at least 1,300 people in Israel dead. In response, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has launched a deadly bombing campaign on the Gaza Strip that has killed more than 2,300 Palestinians, and enforced a complete siege on the enclave, blocking supplies of food, medicines and fuel. A ground invasion appears imminent.

Palestinian Authority Set To Pay Hamas Families Millions For Attacking Israel
[Daily Caller] Palestinian Authority (PA) law immediately rewards the families of those Hamas members who died in their attack against Israel with a grant and monthly allowances, Palestinian Media Watch reported Sunday.

The PA would award each family with a $1,511 grant and a $353 monthly stipend for life, the outlet observed. All told, the dead 1,500 Hamas terrorists reportedly found in Israel would amount to a pay off of $2,789,430 for this month alone to the families of those who engaged in last week’s atrocities, the outlet calculated

— including the commander who orchestrated one of last week’s heinous deadly assaults on an Israeli kibbutz, Israel’s military said Sunday.

Israel Defense Forces claimed they "neutralized" Billal Al Kedra, the commander of the southern Khan Yunis Nukhba forces, in the Gaza Strip late Saturday.

The military said Al Kedra was behind the massacre of dozens of innocent Israelis when Hamas holy warriors stormed the Kibbutz Nirim community Oct. 7 as part of its sneak attack on Israel.

It wasn’t immediately clear how many men, women and kiddies were slaughtered in the attack on their farming community.

But a painter who lived in the ravaged community told CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
afterward, "They just slaughtered everyone.

"They killed kids, babies, grandmothers."

Footage released by the IDF showed a missile obliterating the building where Al Kedra was said to be holed up.

terrorist operatives were also neutralized," the military said in a statement.

"The IDF also struck over 100 military targets located in Zaytun, Khan Yunis, and west Jabaliya," the post said. These strikes impacted the capabilities of the Hamas terrorist organization by targeting its operational command centers, military compounds, dozens of launchers, anti-tank missile launch posts and observation posts."

In a separate strike Sunday, Muetaz Eid — the commander of the Hamas Southern District of National Security — was also taken out during a slew of wide-scale strikes on Hamas military targets.

"Throughout the day, the IAF struck approximately 250 military targets — mostly in the northern Gaza Strip," the air force said.

The death of the terror bigwigs comes a day after two other Hamas honchos, including the commander of the murderous paragliders who slaughtered Israeli civilians from the air, were killed in similar Israeli-led strikes.

Murad Abu Murad, the head of the Hamas Air Force, was taken out when Israeli Air Force fighter jets targeted the Gaza City headquarters.

Ali Qadi, who was identified as "a company commander of the Hamas ’Nukhba’ commando force," was killed in a separate strike.

"Ali Qadi led the inhumane, barbaric October 7 massacre of civilians in Israel," the IDF tweeted Saturday.

"We just eliminated him. All Hamas holy warriors will meet the same fate."

The string of strikes come as Israeli forces positioned themselves along Gaza’s border and drilled for what Israel said would be a campaign by air, land and sea to "destroy" the bad boy group.

Hamas considers Israeli captives as potential bargaining chips for prisoner release. Really.

Hamas' armed wing, in a video message, referred to the non-Israeli captives as "guests" and stated they would be released when circumstances permit. However,

Another senior Hamas official, Moussa Abu Marzouk, mentioned that the release of foreign prisoners is complicated due to the ongoing Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.

The situation remains tense and sensitive, with international attention focused on the potential exchange of captives and the broader conflict between Hamas and Israel.

to allow foreigners out of the besieged Paleostinian enclave and aid to be brought in amid a deepening crisis.

Security sources in Egypt said a deal had been reached to open the Rafah border crossing to allow aid into the enclave from 0600 GMT.

Hamas official Izzat El Reshiq told Rooters that there was no truth to reports about the opening of the Rafah border crossing with Egypt or a temporary ceasefire.

More than 2,700 Paleostinians and 1,400 Israelis have bit the dust during Israel-Hamas war.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said in a statement: "There is currently no truce and humanitarian aid in Gaza in exchange for getting foreigners out."

In an address to Knesset, Netanyahu urged the world countries to stand against Hamas.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pie fight, Bella grabbed the cocoanut cream...
Russia reiterated its appeal for an "immediate ceasefire" in the Israel-Gaza conflict on Monday and urged officials to begin talks to resolve violence.

The situation at the Rafah crossing remained unclear.

The bombardment of Hamas-ruled Gaza continued overnight, with residents saying it was the heaviest pounding yet in nine days of conflict.

As a humanitarian crisis gripped Gaza, two Egyptian security sources said Israel had agreed to halt its bombardment of southern Gaza. The Egyptian-controlled Rafah border crossing was expected to reopen to allow foreign passport holders to leave, they said.

Diplomatic efforts have been intensifying to get aid into the enclave, which has been under complete blockade following the Hamas attack on Israel.

'URGENT NEED FOR CEASEFIRE'
Meanwhile,
...back at the pie fight, Bella grabbed the cocoanut cream...
the UN Human Rights Office has raised alarm over humanitarian situation in the besieged Paleostinian enclave, calling for "urgent need" to halt hostilities to allow humanitarian aid into Gaza.

"There have been very mammoth diplomatic efforts to try to make this happen. The secretary-general is constantly liaising with all the parties that are involved, and many other member states are also exercising what leverage they can. We need the security for the aid deliveries to be able to happen," UNHRO spokesperson Ravina Shamdasani told CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
on Monday.

"We have seen hospitals that have been forced to evacuate. Doctors insisting that they will stay with patients who are in the ICU wards and the neonatal units, where you had the impossible choice of whether to abandon your patients or to stay with them and risk death.

The access to water, access to food, the forced evacuation of hundreds of thousands of people into southern Gaza has created a very, very difficult humanitarian situation in southern Gaza as well," Shamdasani said.

She said there is a significant amount of aid waiting at the border to get in.

'Biden warns against Gaza occupation'
As Israel is preparing for the Gaza invasion, US President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. Sleazy Dem machine politician, paterfamilias of the Biden Crime Family...
has warned Israel against the occupation of the Paleostinian territory, saying the ground assault would be "a big mistake".

Massing thousands of troops and heavy weaponry in the desert south of the country, the Israeli military has said it is awaiting the "political" green light to go into northern Gaza.

In a video clip posted by CBS News’s 60 Minutes on Monday, Biden backed a humanitarian corridor to let people flee the war-hit area as well as allow the delivery of humanitarian aid, including food and water, into Gaza.

"I am confident that Israel is going to act under the rules of war," Biden said.

The US president said that he did not believe Hamas represented "all the Paleostinian people" and that he wanted to see the group totally eliminated.

by claiming Monday that the Hamas
...a regional Iranian catspaw,...
holy warriors long sponsored by Tehran would be willing to free the 199 hostages now known to have been taken during the slaughter of more than 1,400 people.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Nasser Kanaani claimed that Hamas is "ready" to release the hostages, but doing so would be "impossible" under Israeli airstrikes in the region.

He reckoned that the terror group "stated that they are ready to take necessary measures to release the citizens and civilians held by resistant groups, but their point was that such measures require preparations that are impossible under daily bombardment by the Zionists against various parts of Gaza," Kanaani said.

Despite this, Hamas has yet to make such an offer publicly.

The terror group did, however, speak out Monday to maintain that its unprecedented Oct. 7 attack was a solo effort not driven by Iran, despite widespread belief among Israeli and Western officials.

The war in Gaza is "a Paleostinian battle and the decision to enter it was a Paleostinian decision" made by Hamas and its military wing, the Izz ad-Din al Qassam Brigades, "together with the Paleostinian resistance factions," according to Hamas’ rep in Leb

, Ahmed Abdul-Hadi.

Although no government worldwide has offered direct evidence to support the widely held belief that Iran orchestrated the attack, Tehran has long sponsored Hamas, including training, funding and providing it with weapons.

Abdul-Hadi said that Hamas allies Iran and Hezbollah will not allow Israel "to crush Gaza" or to launch a "comprehensive ground attack," but that the groups have deliberately left ambiguity about when and how they would respond. "This is up to the developments in the situation at the time."

In case of a "ground attack, regardless of its level," or if "more and more massacres continue to be committed" in Gaza and Hamas is using up its resources, he said, there will be "surprises announced."

Israel held firm Monday, with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office stating, "There is no ceasefire."

It came as the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Monday confirmed that at least 199 hostages are known to be held in Gaza, a number much greater than previously believed.

Military front man Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said families have been notified. He did not say how many held captive were foreigners, or who was holding them, though most are believed to be held by Hamas, which rules Gaza.

The holy warriors have previously threatened to post footage of hostages being executed in Dire Revenge for Israeli counterstrikes.

Reports: Hamas Kills Palestinian Civilians Trying to Flee; Won't Let Americans Leave
[Breitbart] Reports are emerging that the Hamas terrorist group is preventing civilians from evacuating northern Gaza, killing innocent Palestinians who try to leave, and preventing American citizens from using the Rafah border crossing to escape to Egypt.

Israel Defense Forces (IDF) spokesman Jonathan Conricus has been warning for days that Hamas is preventing civilians from leaving Gaza ahead of an anticipated ground war. He cited both Israeli and international sources in an interview on CNN Sunday:

The Times of Israel noted that Conricus expanded on that point during a question-and-answer session on Twitter/X Sunday, accusing Hamas of attacking a column of Palestinian civilians trying to evacuate, killing 70:

IDF spokesperson Jonathan Conricus says a strike on a convoy of Gazans fleeing to the southern part of the Strip Friday appears to have been a false flag operation carried out by Hamas.

At least 70 people, most of them children, were killed in the strike, which occurred on a route that Israel said should be used for fleeing Gazans. Another 200 were injured.

Conricus says he expects the army will release proof of its claim in the coming hours or days.

On Sunday morning, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan told CNN’s Jake Tapper on State of the Union that while Egypt and Israel were trying to help the U.S. evacuate American citizens from Gaza, Hamas was preventing them from leaving:

The Egyptians have, in fact, agreed to allow Americans to depart, to get safe passage through the Rafah Crossing. The Israelis agreed to ensure that the area around there would be safe, at least as far as they were able to do so.

The question when we tried to move a group yesterday was actually Hamas taking steps to try and stop that from happening. But we are continuing to work this around the clock. And we are doing all that we can to make sure that American citizens who are in Gaza can get through that border crossing.

The Fourth Geneva Convention requires that foreign civilians who wish to leave a conflict area must be allowed to do so, or must be given the opportunity to present their case for doing so to an appropriate tribunal. Hamas is thus violating international law.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
20 rocket launchers, including 4 loaded, found near Israel-Lebanon border
[NYPOST] The Lebanese army said it uncovered 20 rocket launchers near its border with Israel on Monday where Iran-backed Hezbollah has exchanged fire repeatedly with Israeli forces in recent days — stoking fears that the war could spread to a new front.

Four of the rocket launchers were already loaded with missiles and were ready to be fired when they were discovered in the Lebanese border towns of Qalila and al-Sha’iyat, the army said, adding that specialized units had quickly worked to dismantle them.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, meanwhile, also warned the terror group Monday to keep out of the escalating war with Hamas

"Don’t test us in the north," Netanyahu said Monday as he threatened Hezbollah and their Iranian backers they would pay a high price if they became embroiled in the war.

"Don’t make the mistake of the past. Today, the price you will pay will be far heavier," he added, referring to Israel’s bitter monthlong war with Hezbollah in 2006.

Since the Oct. 7 attack by Hamas that killed more than 1,400 Israelis, tensions have been on the rise along the Lebanon-Israel border.

The festivities this last week have been the deadliest in the Lebanon border area since the 2006 war.

Hezbollah fighters have already fired anti-tank missiles on Israeli army positions and Israeli troops have retaliated by shelling areas on the Lebanese side of the border.

Israel considers the powerful Iran-backed Shiite bully boy group its most serious immediate threat, estimating that Hezbollah has some 150,000 rockets and missiles aimed at Israel.

Hezbollah’s military media arm said Monday it had also started shooting at and destroying surveillance cameras on five Israeli army posts along the border, including one outside the Israeli town of Metula.
