-Lurid Crime Tales-
Vanished Kansas City woman whose remains were found by woods had ties to FBI drug probe
[Kansas City Star] On May 23, 22-year-old Abbi Schaeffer left her Northland Kansas City home carrying her purse and her black-and-white cat Izzy.

For six hours, a dark gray BMW, its windows tinted black, had been parked across the street in their quiet subdivision. Schaeffer walked out, spoke with the man in the driver’s seat, and got in.

It was the last time her parents knew she was alive.

On April 1, after months of searching, Belinda and Jason Schaeffer received news they long feared.

Their daughter was dead. Her body lay abandoned near an expanse of hiking trails in south Kansas City.

Despite the troubling signs, they had still held hope that she might come home. For months, they fielded tips from social media — some even claimed to have found her.

"You get everybody calling you and messaging you. And it was like, you get this shred of hope, and then it’s not Abbi," her mother told The Star on Friday.

"It was like the up and down and the roller coaster that was the worst part. The hope, and then the hope’s quashed."

Since her remains were discovered, Kansas City homicide detectives have been leading a death investigation. The Jackson County Medical Examiner’s Office is tasked with determining the cause and manner of her death. As of Friday, Officer Donna Drake said there had been no changes or updates.

Over the past 10 months, the Schaeffers have been left to wonder what happened to the brilliant, beautiful young woman they remember her as.

But they have long suspected something terrible happened to her. And on May 30, when she had been gone for several days, Belinda Schaeffer walked into Kansas City’s North Patrol station with a story to tell.

Her daughter had recently told her that she had information about a fentanyl trafficking operation, she said, and that she was supposed to talk to the FBI before she disappeared. Her phone had gone silent and dropped off the map, and its last signal had come from an apartment complex in south Kansas City one week earlier.

#5  /\ She had likely observed someone endangered by fentanyl, or worse. Her 'reaching out' produced a local reaction. At her age, her social network roster could not be that large. That's were I would begin. That's likely where LE have begun.

The real tragedy is she was a potential drug informant who was NOT given LE surveillance and protection.

#6  If you have such info, write an anonymous letter, don't sign it, use basic legal pad paper, mail it with a bunch of other stuff, to the appropriate authorities, which would likely be local LE, unless they're bought, and so maybe another source, like state police.

Somalia : Al-Shabaab and ISIS Clash in Al Miskaad Mountains, Barri Region
Green on green — such a happy thought. May they continue to clean the shallow end of the gene pool for even longer than Iran and Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, back in the day, and even more effectively.
[Garowe] An informed source who spoke to Garowe Online (GO) has reported an ongoing escalation of conflict between the terrorist groups al-Shabaab
...... the personification of Somali state failure...
and ISIS in the Al Miskaad Mountains of the Barri region. Reports indicate that the fighting occurred yesterday in villages surrounding Dhadar, with ISIS being the instigator.

The ISIS group, which has reportedly gained strength in recent months, attacked al-Shabaab's positions in the Barri region mountains. According to locals who spoke with GO, they witnessed foreigners among the fighters using war vehicles by the ISIS group in the conflict.

In a separate but related incident, a fatal hand grenade attack targeted the Almacrauf company headquarters in Bosaso. One casualty has been reported, with a fire breaking out in the building. A person was found burnt inside the al-Maruf shop after an attack by unknown groups last night. Search operations continue, as more victims may be inside. Shoppers were reportedly present during the attack. A security officer, who chose to remain anonymous, has linked the incident to ISIS in the Barri region.

Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion...
government, led by Saïd Dani, has not yet commented on the two weeks of fighting between these two rival groups or the recent attack in Bosaso. The situation remains volatile, and the international community is closely monitoring developments in the region.

that have carried out repeated attacks for years.

It is not clear which group carried out Thursday's attacks. Authorities on Saturday blamed "armed terrorist groups".

Over 2 million people are displaced and thousands have been killed by the violence in Burkina Faso, one of the world's poorest countries.

The unrest triggered two coups last year by the military, which has vowed to retake control of the country but has failed to stem the bloodshed.

Unrest in the region began in Mali in 2012 when Islamists hijacked a Tuareg separatist uprising. The violence has since spread into neighbouring Burkina Faso and Niger, threatening to destabilise coastal countries further afield.

The court refuses to exclude Rizvanov's testimony from the list of evidence
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] The court in the case of Abdulmumin Gadzhiev,
...for some reason Kavkaz Uzel also likes to spell his name Abdulmumin Hajiyev. Along with the head of the Ansar Foundation charity, Abubakar Rizvanov, and Kemal Tambiev, he was accused of financing terrorism. Investigators believe that they collected 68 million rubles and 200 thousand dollars for ISIS in Syria under the pretext of building mosques and helping poor Muslims...
Abubakar Rizvanov and Kemal Tambiev rejected the petition of Rizvanov, who asked that his identification by a photo by a secret witness be recognized as inadmissible evidence.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 23 the court rejected the petition of Kemal Tambiev, who asked to recognize as inadmissible evidence his first testimony, obtained under pressure in the absence of a lawyer by agreement. The court decided to consider a similar petition of Abubakar Rizvanov on April 6.

Rizvanov, in his petition, asked that his identification from a photo by one of the secret witnesses, which took place with procedural violations, be recognized as inadmissible evidence. The court also notified the participants in the process that the results of an additional examination of the articles by Abdulmumin Hajiyev would not be ready until the end of April.

The editor of the Chernovik newspaper, Abdulmumin Hajiyev, as well as the head of the Ansar charity fund, Abubakar Rizvanov and Kemal Tambiyev, have been in custody since June 2019 on charges of financing terrorism. The trial dragged on due to the lack of results of the examination of Gadzhiev's articles, which had previously been re-requested by the prosecution. This circumstance does not allow moving on to debate, the lawyers told the "Caucasian Knot" on March 14.

The next session of the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don, held on April 6, lasted about half an hour, Dana Sakiyeva, Gadzhiev's wife, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent today.

"The judge rejected Rizvanov's application. First he gave him an assessment, and then he himself said that he was rejecting it, because at this stage he could not give him an assessment. Also at the meeting, they attached Tambiev's diploma on graduating from the Bauman Moscow State Technical University," she said.

According to the agreement, the lawyers were not present at the meeting, Hajiyev's lawyer Arsen Shabanov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

According to him, the results of an additional examination of Hajiyev's texts will be ready at the end of April and, accordingly, the judicial investigation will be closed. "The examination will probably be ready on April 30. And the next meeting is on April 13 at 14:00 [Moscow time]," the lawyer said.

At the next meeting, it is planned to extend the arrest of the defendants, Dana Sakieva added. "The only reason for the need to hold a meeting on April 13 is to extend the preventive measure," she said.

Recall, on January 10, the court announced the results of an examination of Hajiyev's articles in Chernovik, which was conducted by the Southern Center for Forensic Examination of the Ministry of Justice. The examination found that in the submitted articles there are no signs of inducement to transfer money to a charitable foundation, to overthrow the authorities, signs of propaganda of the ideas of terrorist organizations and incitement of enmity and hatred towards the security forces.

This corresponds to the version of the journalist's innocence, the defense said. After that, the prosecution deemed necessary a new examination of the journalist's articles in order to check them for the presence of "any appeals."

According to investigators, the defendants collected 68 million rubles and 200 thousand dollars for the terrorists under the pretext of building mosques and helping poor Muslims. The investigation connects the defendants with Israil Akhmednabiev, a Dagestan preacher and founder of the Mukhadzhirun Islamic Foundation, known as Abu Umar Sasitlinsky, who has been put on the wanted list in a terrorism case. The defendants plead not guilty. The details of the case are collected in the material of the "Caucasian Knot" "Golunov number two": the main thing about the case of Abdulmumin Gadzhiev."

Colleagues of Abdulmumin Gadzhiev consider his criminal case to be political persecution and regularly hold single pickets in the center of Makhachkala in support of him. They are attended, in particular, by the founder of "Chernovik" Magdy Kamalov, the deputy editor-in-chief of the publication Magomed Magomedov and the journalist of "New Business" Idris Yusupov . On April 4, journalists noted the active reaction of passers-by and drivers to their pickets.

Pickets in support of Gadzhiev remind Makhachkala residents of his case, Magomed Magomedov said on March 20. Earlier, on February 20, Gadzhiev's friends also pointed out that the case of Abdulmumin Gadzhiev is being lost against the background of other news, and such pickets remind people of his fate.

turban groups, the Anadolu news agency reported on Thursday.

The individuals, suspected of engaging in activities connected to the aforementioned organizations, were detained in various locations across Istanbul.

Anadolu cited anonymous security sources, who revealed that Istanbul's Counter-Terrorism Unit had initiated a coordinated operation to apprehend the suspects, believed to be involved in conflict zones such as Syria and Iraq.

The unit conducted a series of raids on fourteen sites in seven districts throughout Istanbul, successfully detaining sixteen "foreign terrorist fighters" who "pose a risk to the nation," according to the same sources.

Canada arrests 2 women on return from Syria
[Rudaw] Canadian police on Thursday announced they arrested two women on arrival in the country after their repatriation from camps in northeast Syria.

Ammara Amjad and Dure Ahmed were arrested on their arrival in Montreal and police are seeking a terrorism peace bond for the women. They appeared for a bail hearing via videoconference and remain in jug until their next court appearance on Tuesday. Under a terrorism peace bond, a defendant could face a prison sentence or make a deal for good behaviour.

"The success of this investigation can be attributed to the strength of our policing partnerships. The RCMP stands fast against support to terrorism, including support to groups such as ISIS [Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. ], and remains committed to the safety of all Canadians," Chief Superintendent Matt Peggs of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) said in a blurb.

Canada repatriated 14 Canadians from Syria on Wednesday - four women and 10 children. The women and kiddies had been held at camps for ISIS affiliates in northeast Syria.

Ottawa has resisted repatriating its nationals from Syria, citing insecurity in the region and security risks the ISIS-affiliates pose. The group of 14 was part of a federal court case against the government, which struck a deal, agreeing to repatriate six women and 13 children.

The women’s lawyer Lawrence Greenspon said he worked for three years to get the government to bring them home.

"What it demonstrates is that Canada has the ability to repatriate these women and kiddies and then deal with any concerns that they have through the Canadian justice system, which is the way it should be," said Greenspon, CBC news reported.

Five Canadians did not show up for the repatriation flight, according to the lawyer.

The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), who control northeast Syria, fought the lion’s share of the battle against ISIS and arrested thousands of the terror group’s fighters along with their wives and children when they crushed ISIS territorially and took the group’s last stronghold in Syria in 2019. The women and kiddies now live in northeast Syria’s al-Hol and Roj camps, where human rights
...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state...
groups say conditions are "filthy," "often inhumane," and "life-threatening."

The SDF have repeatedly called on foreign governments to take responsibility for their nationals.
Dawn adds:
This is the fourth repatriation operation conducted by the Canadian government of its nationals held in camps in Kurdish-administered northeastern Syria.

Three of the women were arrested at the airport before appearing in court on a “terrorism peace bond application”, a type of restraining order, police said in a statement.

One of them, an unidentified 38-year-old woman, was transported to Alberta in western Canada and released on bail pending a hearing on the conditions of her status.

“This is not a criminal charge,” her lawyer, Lawrence Greenspon, said, adding that the prosecutor will want to “ensure that the person follows the conditions for a period of up to one year.”

The other two, Ammara Amjad and Dure Ahmed, “will remain in custody until their next hearing, which is scheduled for Tuesday,” police added.

“Everything was good” regarding the fourth woman, said Greenspon, who is representing all four repatriated women. She faces neither criminal charges nor a request for a peace bond on terrorism.

“The 10 children are repatriated and are with their families here in Canada,” the lawyer added.

Two soldiers martyred, four hurt in Khyber IED attack
[Dawn] Two soldiers bit the dust and four others were maimed when their vehicle was targeted by an improvised bomb (IED) in Bara tehsil of Khyber tribal district on Saturday, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

Local sources said the security forces’ vehicle was passing through Miangano Kalay Khearr (dry stream) in the Malakdin Khel locality in the afternoon when it was hit by the IED, which was planted in the dry stream.

The ISPR statement said Naib Subedar Hazrat Gul, 37, a resident of Lower Dir, and Sepoy Nazir Ullah Mehsud, 34, a resident of South Wazoo, embraced martyrdom.

"Sanitisation of the area is being carried out to eliminate any gunnies in the area," it said, adding that security forces were determined to "eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our soldiers further strengthen our resolve".

Local sources said that nearby civilians rushed to the scene of the blast immediately after the incident and shifted the bodies and the injured to a treatment centre.

The injured soldiers were identified as sepoys Wajid, Haris and Niaz, and civilian Adnan.

Pakistain (TTP), Muhammad Khurasani, grabbed credit for the IED attack but exaggerated the number of deaths.

The attack comes a day after the top civil and military leadership reaffirmed their commitment to thwart terror threats and vowed to relaunch the National Action Plan (NAP) within a fortnight to crush holy warriors reportedly coming in from Afghanistan.

Without directly blaming the previous PTI government for the resurgence of terrorism in tribal districts along the border with Afghanistan, they agreed to initiate new multi-pronged and comprehensive operations, as well as combined efforts on the diplomatic, security, economic and social fronts to eliminate bully boys.

A newly formed committee would present its recommendations within two weeks to implement the policy and draw its parameters.

Security forces have already stepped up operations. On Wednesday, a key bully boy commander and his seven associates were killed during an intelligence-based operation carried out by security forces in the Shinwarsak area of South Waziristan tribal district.

Two police officials martyred in Swabi, Waziristan attacks
[Dawn] An assistant sub-inspector of police embraced martyrdom and two other personnel suffered critical injuries when bandidos faceless myrmidons attacked the vehicle they travelled in with a hand grenade in Swabi district on Friday evening.

Also in the day, a police constable was killed in an act of ’murder’ in North Wazoo tribal district.

The Swabi attack was reported in the main Yar Hussain Bazaar a few minutes before Iftar time.

The police said that the bandidos faceless myrmidons lobbed a hand grenade at the police personnel’s vehicle as it was bound for the Yar Hussain cop shoppe.

They said that ASI Sair Khan was martyred in the attack, while the accompanying constables Gul Naseeb Khan and Ajaz Khan were seriously injured.

The police said that the dear departed belonged to Kalu Khan village.

They said that the injured were immediately shifted to the Mardan Medical Complex, where the doctors declared the condition of constable Gul Naseeb to be critical.

The police claimed that ostensibly, it was a murderous Moslem attack, which was being probed.

"It seems that bandidos faceless myrmidons are behind this hand grenade attack, but they are investigating it from different angles to know about it," district police officer Najmul Hussain told Dawn.

The police cordoned off the area after the attack and tightened security at and around all entry points and key places in the area.

Meanwhile,

button men killed a police constable in Khadikhel market of North Waziristan tribal district on Friday.

The police said it was an act of "murder". They said that constable Zahidullah came under gun attack in a market while doing his duty.

The police said that faceless myrmidons fired bullets at the constable and fled.

They said that the policeman embraced martyrdom on the spot.

The police said that the body was shifted to the main Mirali hospital, while an investigation had been launched into the "murder."

Two soldiers embrace martyrdom in IED blast: ISPR
[GEO.TV] Two soldiers embraced martyrdom after an improvised bomb (IED) went kaboom! on a vehicle of security forces in the general area of Bara, Khyber District, the military's media wing said Saturday.
"Embraced" with a lack of enthusiasm, I bet
In a statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that Naib Subedar Hazrat Gul (age 37 years, resident of Lower Dir) and Sepoy Nazir Ullah Mehsud (age 34 years, resident of South Wazoo) embraced martyrdom during the incident.

"Sanitisation of the area is being carried out to eliminate any Death Eaters in the area," the statement released read.

It further stressed that Pakistain’s security forces are determined to eliminate the menace of terrorism and such sacrifices of our soldiers further strengthen our resolve.

Earlier this week, eight terrorists, including a local commander, were killed in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in South Waziristan's Shin Warsak area.

In a statement, the ISPR said the Death Eaters — including commander Jan Muhammad alias Chargh — were bumped off in an intense fire exchange during the operation.

But during the exchange of fire, Sepoy Hamid Rasool, 31, a resident of Rawalpindi, fought gallantly and embraced martyrdom. Moreover, four personnel, including two officers got injured, the ISPR said.

'TTP uses US arms left behind in Afghanistan for terrorism in Pakistan'
[GEO.TV] Modern weapons and military equipment — which was left behind by the US forces after the pullout from Afghanistan in 2001 — are being used by banned Tahreek-e-Taliban
...Arabic for students...
Pakistain (TTP) and Baloch separatist groups for terrorism in Pakistain, according to a report by Radio Free Europe.

The US had left behind weapons and military equipment worth $7 billion which later boosted the military capabilities of the terrorist groups in Pakistain.

The report said that the US left behind firearms, communications gear, and even armoured vehicles which gave the Lions of Islam a "vast war chest".

Pakistain always desired not to indulge in a blame game with Afghanistan. The RFERL report rejected Kabul’s claims that the TTP was not using Afghan soil against Pakistain as the presence of the TTP, ISKP and other terrorist groups in Afghanistan was an undeniable reality.

The report said that using the US weapons and equipment, both the TTP and Baloch separatist groups were waging insurgencies against the government in Pakistain, which has witnessed a surge in violence over the past two years.

"These weapons have added to the lethality of such groups," said Asfandyar Mir, a senior analyst at the United States Institute of Peace.

Experts say gangs have obtained advanced US weapons and equipment like M16 machine guns and M4 assault rifles, night-vision goggles, and military communication gear.

Abdul Sayed, a Sweden-based researcher who tracks the TTP, said the group’s access to sophisticated combat weapons has had a "terrifying" impact, especially on the lesser-equipped police force in Pakistain.

According to the Pakistain Institute of Peace Studies (PIPS), a think tank in Islamabad, the number of terrorist attacks in the country increased by 27% last year compared to 2021. At least 419 people were killed, while 734 were maimed in 262 terrorist attacks last year.

The Taliban spokesperson, however, rejected claims that it has supplied TTP fighters with US weapons and equipment.

"If some weapons are being smuggled, they are far fewer and not of much concern," the report quoted Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban front man said.

No other details are provided.

It is worth noting that Makhoul Mountains are the most prominent strongholds for ISIS and previous terrorist groups.

They extend between the governorates of Saladin, Nineveh, and Kirkuk and the borders of Kurdistan.

Babel Residents Protest Against ''Return of Terrorism'' to Jurf Al-Sakhar
[Shafaq News] Hundreds of residents of Babel governorate staged a protest in the district of al-Musayyib on Friday, saying it was against the "return of terrorism" to the Jurf al-Sakhar area, controlled by Hezbollah brigades and other factions of al-Hashd al-Shaabi (PMF) Forces.

The demonstration comes days after the head of al-Siyada Alliance, Khamis al-Khanjar, called for the return of displaced people to the area, and reiterated his commitment to holding Eid prayers there soon.

Protesters held up signs rejecting the "return of terrorism" to the area, saying, "We will not forget the suicide belts and boom-mobiles that used to come from Jurf al-Sakhar."

Others held up a banner that read, "The people of Babel have not forgotten the blood of their deaders in the bombing of al-Sha'ab Street, which was caused by the terrorism of Jurf al-Sakhar."

Peshmerga repel ISIS attack near Mt. Qarachogh
[Rudaw] Kurdish forces repelled an Islamic State

(ISIS) attack on their forces Friday night about 50 kilometres southwest of Erbil.

At 11:30pm, "ISIS [ISIS] attacked one of the Peshmerga 18th Infantry Brigade barricade in Ala village in the foothills of Mount Qarachogh," the Peshmerga ministry tweeted Saturday.

The Peshmerga repelled the attack and suffered no casualties or injures, the ministry added.

Mount Qarachogh in the Makhmour area is located within an area where there is a security vacuum between the Kurdish Peshmerga and Iraqi federal forces. ISIS has taken advantage of the situation in the past to move around, harass local residents, and carry out attacks.

It is one of the areas where a joint Peshmerga-Iraqi brigade could be based. Prior to Iraq’s 2021 elections, Erbil and Baghdad were discussing establishing several joint brigades in the disputed areas. Talks were postponed because of the vote. The draft federal budget currently before the parliament includes funds for two joint brigades.

SDF confirms commander was in Sulaimani during strike
[Rudaw] The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) confirmed on Saturday that their Commander-in-Chief Mazloum Abdi was in Sulaimani during an alleged Ottoman Turkish drone attack on the airport the day before.

SDF spokesperson Farhad Shami had initially denied reports that Abdi was the target of a suspected Ottoman Turkish drone attack. In his statement on Saturday, he said the denial was a deliberate move to ensure Abdi’s safety until he arrived back in northeast Syria (Rojava).

"As part of our emergency security response related to the safety of our forces' command, we deliberately restricted the release of information about the Ottoman Turkish attack on Sulaymaniyah airport, where our Commander-in-Chief, Mazloum Abdi, was present," Shami tweeted.

He added that Abdi is now back in Rojava, is unharmed, and the SDF will provide further details about the attack at a later date.

The dronezap on Friday afternoon was first reported as a kaboom near the perimeter of Sulaimani International Airport, causing no casualties. United States officials then confirmed it was a dronezap on US personnel.

"We can confirm there was a strike on a convoy Friday in Sulaymaniyah that included U.S. military personnel. Fortunately, we can also confirm there were no casualties," US Department of Defence Spokesperson Philip Ventura told Rudaw in an email early Saturday. He did not mention Abdi or speculate who carried out the strike.

Unnamed US officials told the Wall Street Journal that some Western officials suspect Ankara was behind the attack. Abdi himself has also blamed The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

Turkey has denied responsibility
Nope. Nope. Wudn't us.
. "Ottoman Turkish armed forces undertook no such activity," a defence ministry source told AFP.

The strike comes a few days after Turkey imposed a three-month flight ban on Sulaimani’s airport because of what Turkey’s foreign ministry dubbed "infiltration" by the PKK in the province.

The ban is believed to be related to a helicopter crash in Duhok province on March 15, killing nine anti-terrorism forces affiliated with the US-backed SDF, including a close relative of Abdi, who were travelling to Sulaimani. Ankara accuses the SDF’s backbone, the People’s Protection Units (YPG), of being the Syrian wing of the PKK.

1 Dead, 7 Injured in Tel Aviv Shooting, Car-Ramming Operation
Another take on this story from yesterday.
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] A Paleostinian resistance fighter carried out a double heroic operation in Tel Aviv, killing a Zionist and injuring 7 others, including 3 hopeless cases, according to Hebrew sources.

The Israeli media announced that a dual attack, involving gunfire and vehicular assault, occurred in two central areas of ’Tel Aviv’.

The occupation police said that the operation began with trampling, and then by shooting settlers.

Paleostinian sources identified the perpetrator as Youssef Ahmed Abu Jaber, a martyr and fighter from the town of ’Kafr Qassem’ inside the occupied territories. The Israeli occupation police, however, reported that a car ran over multiple individuals in ’Tel Aviv’ before flipping over.

Paleostinian resistance factions have reaffirmed their commitment to continue resisting Israeli occupation crimes against the Paleostinian people until the land is liberated.

These incidents occurred just hours after Israeli media reported that three illegal Israeli settlers were killed in a shooting attack in the Jordan Valley. Israeli occupation forces are currently searching the area for the gunman.

Jenin Battalion Confronts Occupation Forces amid Clashes in West Bank
[ENGLISH.ALMANAR.LB] Violent confrontations erupted between Paleostinian youths and the Israeli occupation forces in several cities across the occupied West Bank, including Jenin, Beit Lahm, and Nablus. In response to the unrest, the IOF fired stun grenades at citizens near the al-Hamra checkpoint in the Jordan Valley and detained Paleostinian civilians.

According to Paleostinian media, the resistance fighters targeted the occupation forces in the town of Burqin, resulting in one civilian sustaining a gunshot wound. The Jenin Battalion of the al-Quds Brigades confirmed their involvement in the armed festivities, declaring their fight against the Israeli occupation forces.

In another incident, festivities erupted on Friday evening in the town of Taqu’a, southeast of Beit Lahm, prompting the IOF to respond with force. The al-Hamra checkpoint witnessed a tense situation, with the deployment of occupation forces and the closure of the barrier, causing significant disruption for civilians on both sides.

Dozens of more mysterious schoolgirl poisoning cases reported across Iran
[Shafaq News] Dozens of schoolgirls have been poisoned in several schools across Iran, local media reported, in continuation of the mysterious phenomenon that has shaken the country for months.

In the northwestern town of Orumiyeh, capital of West Azerbaijan province, "a number of schoolgirls were taken to hospital on Saturday after feeling sick", ILNA news agency reported without further elaboration.

At least "60 students were poisoned in a girls' school in the town of Haftkel" in the oil-rich southwestern province of Khuzestan, state television

's IRIB news agency cited a local official as saying.

A number of schoolgirls were poisoned in "five schools in Ardabil in the northwest", where the victims showed symptoms of "anxiety, shortness of breath and headaches", a provincial medical official told the news agency.

Since late November many schools, mostly for girls, have been affected by sudden poisoning incidents from gases or toxic substances.

According to an official count provided on March 7, "more than 5,000 students" have been affected by similar poisonings in more than 230 establishments, located in 25 of the country's 31 provinces.

On Friday MP Hamidreza Kazemi, the head of the national fact-finding committee formed to investigate these cases, specified that "the final report" would be published "in two weeks".

"We have received reports from various bodies and we are studying the issue in order to present our conclusion to parliament," he was quoted as saying by state television.

Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei

had called on March 6 for "severe sentences" up to the death penalty
against those found responsible for the poisonings, which he described as "unforgivable crimes".
