Australian Government Agency threatens critics of new Voldemort Tax Carbon Tax
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has warned small businesses they must quiz suppliers, analyse bills and make mathematical calculations before blaming the carbon tax for soaring costs, adding a new layer of red tape for companies already overburdened by paperwork.

The watchdog has set up a band of 23 carbon cops to investigate firms, which face fines of up to $1.1 million if they breach regulations.

In a report released yesterday, the ACCC gave hypothetical examples of how businesses should calculate their carbon tax impact.

For example, a vet who suspected the carbon tax was to blame for the rising cost of supplies but whose suppliers were unable to confirm her suspicions would avoid a fine by simply telling customers "It's You-Know-Who's fault the overall cost of running her business had increased".

Another example advised paying for a business analyst to predict the carbon tax costs before making a claim about a carbon price rise.

A hairdresser claiming a 10 per cent rise was "largely due to the carbon price" would be ruled a rightist deviationist counterrevolutionary out of line because the ACCC deemed it had "overstated" the impact.

Stephen Cartwright, CEO of the NSW Business Chamber, last night described the guidelines as "not about protecting small business and consumers from price hikes, but rather about the government hiding the true impact of the carbon tax from Australians".

He said: "The government is making the carbon tax the Voldemort of taxes. It's the tax whose name you dare not speak for fear of prosecution."
So far this is only happening in Australia. How long til US and EU eco bureaucrats will follow suit?

#1  Recently saw a scary story saying sea level rise is accelerating at a record pace (at least on the US East Coast) - and the rate is 4 mm/year. That's about 1/6" per year or 1 1/2" per decade, or 16" per century or 13 feet per 1000 years! Sounds terrible, right? But wait! That works out to about 200' over the last 15,000 years - which is less than the estimated 300' of rise since the last ice age minimum, about 15,000 years ago. So is the alleged current rate of sea level rise just a reversion to the long-term norm, to be continued until the ice is gone?

Ballot issues arise after Rangel's apparent primary win
(CNN) - While Rep. Charlie Yez got nuttin' on me, coppers! Rangel
Congressman-for-Life from Harlem, who became what 20 terms in Congress turns you into ...
of New York celebrates a major primary victory this week - his toughest challenge in 42 years - the state is stepping in on ballot complaints that could wind up changing the results.

New unofficial numbers released Saturday night by the New York City Board of Elections show Rangel ahead of his main challenger, state Sen. Adriano Espaillat, by only two percentage points - 44% to 42% - with just 802 votes separating them and more than 3,000 votes unaccounted for.

The figures come after Espaillat's campaign filed a lawsuit contending too many ballots were left outstanding in Tuesday's election.

"Four days after polls closed, we finally have a preliminary vote count, excluding thousands of paper ballots. With each new tally, Senator Espaillat's vote total increases. As paper ballots begin to be counted and this dead-heat race continues, we are grateful to all of our supporters and will continue to push for full transparency in counting every single vote," said Espaillat's spokesperson Ibrahim Khan in a statement.

The state Supreme Court decided Friday to hold a hearing on the election results, which is on the docket for Monday, according to the court system.

Espaillat conceded defeat to Rangel Tuesday night, as tallies showed the 21-term Democratic congressman had netted about 45% of the vote, compared to Espaillat at 40%, in a multi-candidate race.

The new two-percentage-point margin includes votes cast in electronic voting machines during Tuesday's primary.

According to the board's spokeswoman, Valerie Vazquez, there are 3,270 votes to sort through from affidavits and absentee ballots -- a tally that could potentially swing the results.

That figure includes 2,494 affidavits, which consist of paper ballots from those whose names were not on voter register lists at respective polling sites, and therefore ineligible to vote on a machine. The board has to first verify that those names are in fact registered before their votes can be added to the final count.

Vazquez said 776 absentee ballots also remain outstanding. The total sum of additional votes will not be finalized until after Thursday, she added. Only then will there be an official margin.

"Our policy and procedures require a manual hand count if the margin of victory is less than one half of a percentage point," Vazquez told CNN.

Espaillat, a 57-year-old Dominican-American, has used his background to court Latino votes and take aim at the 82-year-old Rangel over his long tenure in Washington and his ethics abuses. If he had won Tuesday, he could have been on the way to being the first Dominican-American elected to Congress.

#1  ...and how worried is Charlie???

#2  The 2010 census reduced the number of US House seats for New York from 29 to 27. Charlie got redistricted from the 15th district to the largely Hispanic 13th district. It is very suspicious that Rangel would win this primary in a Hispanic district. I smell hijinks and illegal shenanigans. The Pubs and legitimate voters need to watch out; such stuff is a preview of the November elections. I think we are going to see a wide-scale effort to steal this election by a host of shady characters with the blessings of the DOJ.

#7  I see what you mean. It doesn't make any difference what Donk wins. The winner is in the bag for Obama--the district is 93% Democrat. It is interesting to see the fratricide and it does highlight the corruption within the Democratic Party.

US muffling opposition voice by secretly liquidating dissidents: Analyst
Oh dear. That wheat shortage has clearly gone to someone's brain, unless the spy squirrels got to him. Soon he'll go the way of the Sea of Fire man in North Korea. [Iran Press TV] A US political analyst says despite Washington's claims to being a pioneer in promoting freedom of speech and human rights
...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you...
, the American government is actually disabling and even killing dissidents by inconspicuous means.

"The post-9/11 USA is no longer a beacon of human rights. As former President Jimmy Carter
... the worst president ever. Maybe the second worst. The votes aren't all in yet...
recently wrote in the New York Times
...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...
, the United States is abandoning its role as the global champion of human rights," Kevin Barrett wrote in an article published on the Press TV website.

Referring to recent remarks of President Barak B.O. regime's information czar Cass Sunstein, who openly noted that the US government should "disable the purveyors of conspiracy theories," the analyst said one way to disable the purveyors of conspiracy theories is to terrorize them with death threats.

On June 13, Barrett added, Dr. James Fetzer, the founder of Scholars for 9/11 Truth, was scheduled to speak at the University Heights Community Center in Seattle, when the university received a threatening note that the gathering could be hit by "a bomb or fire bomb or maybe just gun fire." As a result, university officials had to cancel Fetzer's address.

"Death threats are one way to disable the purveyors of conspiracy theories. Actual liquidations are another," he explained.

According to the analyst, there is a long list of people, who were trying to expose the truth of 9/11 and have met with untimely, suspicious deaths.

"Barry Jennings, the deputy director of Emergency Services Department for the New York City Housing Authority on 9/11, appears to have been murdered after speaking publicly about kabooms he witnessed that partly demolished World Trade Center Building 7 on the morning of 9/11," he said.

Barrett stated that another 9/11 truth advocate and eyewitness, Dr. David Graham of Shreveport, Louisiana, was murdered - apparently by the FBI - for writing a book about two of the alleged 9/11 hijackers, who were obvious intelligence assets controlled by people at Barksdale Air Force Base.

Bringing another example, the analyst said Mike Ruppert, the original leader of the 9/11 truth movement, had his office attacked by microwave and/or EMF (Electromagnetic Frequency) weapons after he began publishing critiques of the official story of 9/11. He argued that the attacks may have contributed to Ruppert's poor health and distraught frame of mind, which led him to quit the 9/11 truth movement and temporarily flee the USA in 2006.

"Since we now know that a secret National Security committee is ordering the murder of American citizens, and since we know the CIA has the power to easily simulate deaths from illness and accident, we might as well assume that every time a dissident dies unexpectedly, he or she has been murdered by the US government," Barrett said.

"A government that extra-judicially murders, disappears, and tortures its own citizens should clean up its own acts before it criticizes other nations. The US should heed former President Carter and start obeying its own Constitution if it wants to have any credibility on human rights," he concluded.

#1  Mike Ruppert, the original leader of the 9/11 truth movement, had his office attacked by microwave and/or EMF weapons after he began publishing critiques of the official story of 9/11.

He would have been fine if he'd kept his tin-foil hat on. Everyone knows you don't dare critique the US government without one of those, or a Faraday cage. Sheesh.

the attacks may have contributed to Ruppert's poor health and distraught frame of mind, which led him to quit the 9/11 truth movement and temporarily flee the USA in 2006.

Cause and effect can be so difficult to work out sometimes.
