Sharia Law in Philadelphia Results in Chopping off of Mans Hand
On Monday, a 46-year-old man who was reportedly accused by two leaders of a Philadelphia mosque of stealing jars of money from the mosque had his hand chopped with a machete, requiring hospital treatment.

Police reports stated that the two men responsible for the assault were the mosque’s imam and amir. They were accused of dragging the victim to the rear of the mosque, where the machete deeply lacerated his right wrist. Medics transported the victim to a hospital close by.

Police descended on the mosque in Philadelphia’s Overbrook section on Thursday and arrested Merv Mitchell, aka Mabul Shoatz. They also found a 2-foot-long machete. The other Muslim leader, the imam, who is 35, has not yet been apprehended.
The police charged Mitchell with aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and related offenses.

#3  Idiots couldn't even do it right. The machete wasn't sharp enough or heavy enough to completely sever the hand. What a mess. But you know what's going to happen when those mad mullahs get to prison. They'll convert any other prisoner who is dumb enough to listen to them.

#4  John, don't make it about Sharia or Muslims or anything hot-button like that. Just say "there is no private law in a civilized society". It'll confuse the usual suspects enough to disrupt the usual noise-machine bollocks, and make the point on a basic law-and-order line.

#5  There can't be two parallel systems of the law of the land.

There already is, actually. It (usually) doesn't extend itself into criminal law.

Chicago weekend shootings kill four including 11-year-old girl
[Iran Press TV] There seems to be no end for violent and bloody weekends in the US city of reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown
... home of Al Capone, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel,...
where at least forty people are shot between 6 p.m. Friday and 12 a.m. Monday.

Chicago police say four people including a four-year-old girl have bit the dust in the shootings.

Police said Shamiya Adams was shot in the head on Friday night inside her friend's house when someone fired from outside. She died a day later after the incident.

On Saturday night, a drive-by shooting injured four people and killed another near a block party in the 900 block of North Mayfield Avenue.

One man was killed and another injured in the first fatal shooting on Sunday. The incident took place in a bar in city's Brighton Park neighborhood.

Chicago, described as the most dangerous city in the United States, has been dealing with a wave of deadly shootings in recent weeks.

More than 50 people were shot with at least 17 of them fatally in the city during the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

An FBI crime statistics, released in late 2013, said the city registered more homicides in 2012 than New York City.

#3  #1 - well, at least the machine that produced Obama.

Detroit, Chicago, et al are all models where the reward system (stuffing the ballot box to get the graft and juice that keep the machine running) encouraged the machines to promote give-aways and entitlements to attract unskilled and unmotivated bodies that in turn drove the middle class (the producers) out with taxes to subsidize and lawlessness that threatened their lives, families, and property. Reward non-productivity and punish productivity. What could go wrong with such a system? /rhetorical question

Texas National Guard to Deploy To Stop Human Trafficking
MCALLEN, Texas--Texas media outlets are reporting Texas Governor Rick Perry is preparing to deploy the Texas National Guard to portions of the Texas/Mexico border.

State Senator Juan "Chuy" Hinojosa (D-McAllen) confirmed the pending announcement of Perry's decision to deploy 1,000 soldiers from the Texas National Guard to the border. The goal of the guard deployment is to bolster the work of the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) State Troopers, according to Jennifer Saenz, a spokesperson for Sen. Hinojosa.
Hope the graphic is not over kill, just thinkin the approach might scatter the human coyotes quicker than any other means.
"The senator understands that Perry wants this troop build-up, but is not sure what kind of federal approval he needs for it. He just knows he wants to deploy 1,000 troops there," Saenz said in an article posted on the Houston Chronicle.

On July 18, Breitbart Texas reported that a coalition of conservative, tea party, and grassroots activists met in Austin, Texas at the State Capitol to demand that Gov. Perry deploy the Texas National Guard and call the Texas Legislature into special session to handle the surge of illegal immigration in South Texas.

#1  Champ will likely not tolerate such a move. The Guard will no doubt be federalized and an active component general and staff sent to take over, making the entire exercise essentially useless and demobilization soon follows. Now if the Texas National Guard general refuses to step down.... that's a horse of a different color.
Posted by: Besoeker || 07/21/2014 7:40 Comments || Top||

#2  Texas also has a militia, not subject to federalization. The Champ had better eat the state use of its NG rather than allowing the governor to call upon the militia. That'll shut the border like nothing has for decades. Can't have success like that undermine your gambit.
Posted by: Procopius2k || 07/21/2014 9:25 Comments || Top||

#3  Please correct the headline. Texas has the Texas National Guard, which is what is being deployed and can be federalized. They also have the Texas State Guard, which is the state organized volunteer militia, which is NOT federalizable, and deploys only within the state. The Texas Guard has ground, air, medical and even a brown water maritime force. Go visit their website - I don't know of any other state that has such a setup that's so well organized and under the command of the Governor.

The Texas State Guard (TXSG) is one of three components of the Texas Military Forces (TXMF), reporting to The Texas Adjutant General located at Texas Military Forces HQ, Camp Mabry (Austin), Texas. The Commander in Chief of the Texas Military Forces is the Governor of Texas. The other two branches are the Texas Army National Guard (TXARNG) and the Texas Air National Guard (TXANG).

Down there they refer to the Texas State Guard as the "Texas Guard" and the TARNG as the "National Guard" and the TXANG as the "Air Guard"

#5  Is part of this Perry making a run for President? If so, it is a good strategy. Immigration is out of control. The Donks and some fellow traveler Pubs are not wanting to do anything about it--they believe "open borders" are OK. It seems like a good move to stop the invasion of the U.S. As someone said, bring everything you got in the way of arms--use them.

#7  National Guard may or may not be armed depending on the legal situation. But State Guard certainly is - after all the Texas State Marine unit holds CHL classes at various parts of the state, and encourages concealed carry.
Posted by: OldSpook || 07/21/2014 14:35 Comments || Top||

#8  Not sure how far this could go. National Guard doesn't have authority to deport. And if they try to stop more coming over the border all they can do is detain and hand over to the Feds. Guess maybe captured illegals could be put into camps along the border with fences on the North, East and West only...
Posted by: Iblis || 07/21/2014 14:41 Comments || Top||

#9  Tag a Texas Ranger with the units and they can hold anyone for 72 hours. That's about enough time to escort them back across the border. Properly armed, who's going to object on the Mexican side? Lawyers or judges? Then just drop them off at their houses for quartering and tell them the owners are going to take care of them.

#13  If it goes into NCIC, outstanding warrants should show up. NCIC.

#14  OK, so fast forward. Just what are they going to do on the border? Stop the people from crossing? Hold them at the border on the other side? OK, sounds good. But they are for the most part not Mexican. They are 1200 miles from their own country. They have zero life support. So now the Governor will be standing on the border watching people die. What if they climb the fence anyway> Shoot them? On live TV? This will go well, not. Not my problem you say? SO just who will come in and care for them? The UN? Cartells? LaRaza? How about if Russia sends a humanitarian force to help, say an aircraft carrier and transport ships to reunite? Mexico certainly cant handle it, so the National Guard will receive and help process these people, deterrence of only a few. This is asymmetrical warfare against America. We need to come up with a way to deal with it, IE going into Mexico and executing the Coyotes in the night. Make transporting them a life ending event for the smugglers.

S Sudan rebels attack key border town
[Iran Press TV] South Sudanese rebels have launched an assault to recapture a key town near the Æthiopian border just days after mediators urged the warring leaders to resume peace talks.

On Sunday, the forces loyal to Riek Machar, South Sudan's former vice president, invaded their former headquarters, the town of Nasir, which is located some 30 kilometers from the border with Æthiopia.

Despite the rebels' claim, South Sudanese army front man Philip Aguer denied the fall of Nasir, saying the battle is "still ongoing".

"The rebels have been shelling Nasir since last night, and this morning at 6 a.m. they launched a ground attack. There is still fighting in Nasir but the rebels don't control Nasir," Aguer said on the same day.
Just two day ago, the Æthiopian prime minister, who mediates South Sudan's peace talks, had warned both sides to resume negotiations.

Hailemariam Desalegn said on Friday that time was running out for a lasting deal in the violence-hit country.

The United Nations
...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly...
Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) condemned the raid as a clear violation of a truce agreement, reached in May, when President Salva Kiir and Machar met and recommitted to a January ceasefire.

Cartels suspected as high-caliber gunfire sends Border Patrol scrambling on Rio Grande
[FoxNews] Border Patrol sources confirmed Gohmert's account, and said the shots may have been fired by .50-caliber weapons.
Mexico's southern border, the one they patrol so zealously, has suddenly become very porous. Guatemalan, Honduran and Salvardoran children are being escorted right up to the Rio Grande. It's like a business, a machine.

Wonder who set all that up? Who in Mexico is benefiting? Who in Mexico is getting the money? Why isn't Mexico closing its southern border, and why aren't we quietly leaning on Mexico do that?

One of the Mexicans puts down his oar, stands up, and shouts, “Gringo, we are invading the United States of America to reclaim the territory taken by the USA during the 1800s.”

The entire crew on the destroyer doubles over in laughter. When the Captain finally catches his breath, he gets back on the loud-hailer and asks, “Just the four of you?”

Russki High-Rollers Horrified By Ukrainian Mess
Russia's richest businessmen are increasingly frantic that President Vladimir Putin's policies in Ukraine will lead to crippling sanctions and are too scared of reprisal to say so publicly, billionaires and analysts said.
Mrs. Bobby told me last evening that they were pulling their money out of Russia. This is the closest I could find.
If Putin doesn't move to end the war in Ukraine in the wake of last week's downing of a Malaysia Air jet in rebel-held territory, he risks becoming an international outcast like Belarus's Aleksandr Lukashenko, whom the U.S. famously labeled Europe's last dictator, one Russian billionaire said on condition of anonymity. What's happening is bad for business and bad for Russia, he said.

"The economic and business elite is just in horror," said Igor Bunin, who heads the Center for Political Technology in Moscow. Nobody will speak out because of the implicit threat of retribution, Bunin said by phone yesterday. "Any sign of rebellion and they'll be brought to their knees."
Does The Bear have an IRS? Oh, I guess the KGB/FSS/FIS would suffice.
The U.S. has already imposed penalties on state-run companies and members of Putin's inner circle. The latest sanctions, announced a day before the Malaysia Air attack, barred OAO Novatek, a gas producer partly owned by Timchenko, from using U.S. debt markets for new financing with maturities longer than 90 days. Novatek's London shares fell 8 percent over two days, cutting its market value by almost $3 billion.
Just a little ripple in the stock market, no big deal.
Amid market turmoil provoked by the Ukraine conflict, the 19 richest Russians lost $14.5 billion since the start of the year, compared to an increase in wealth of $56.5 billion for the richest 64 Americans, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
In round, fat numbers, each Rooshian billionaire lost a billion, while each Capitalist/Socialist/Marxist American made a billion. Evocative comparison, don't you think?

Jury says Reynolds must pay $23.6 billion
[NEWS-RECORD] R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co. was hit Friday with $23.6 billion in punitive damages by a Florida jury, one of the largest such awards in U.S. corporate and legal history.

A jury in a Florida state court determined Thursday that the widow of Michael Johnson Sr., Cynthia Robinson, should receive $17 million in compensatory damages in the case even though the jury had determined Johnson was 30 percent responsible for his own illness.

"We hope this verdict will send a message to R.J. Reynolds and other big tobacco companies that will force them to stop putting the lives of innocent people in jeopardy," plaintiff attorney Willie Gary said in a statement Friday.

Though the punitive damages award is staggering — 75 percent of Reynolds American's market capitalization — there is ample legal precedent that the amount is likely to be ruled excessive by a state appeals or state Supreme Court, and possibly thrown out or drastically reduced.

In other words, punishment only through violation of duly enacted laws, not by the whims & emotions of jurors manipulated by a tort lawyer, which is what happened in this case.

#5  My big question, and it's the same for Putin, is: does it actually matter if you kill hitler / putin?

Is the dictator just a symptom of the ruling cabal who will just replace him if he goes.

Or does the human agency of that 1 individual actually make a historical difference.

If you removed Hitler would the Holocaust still have happened?

If you removed Putin would anything be different in Russia?

Maybe nothing would change as that one person must reflect the views of those powerful enough to put them there

#6  Now, don't be too romantic about these men: most of them conspired because they saw Hitler as a liability. They hoped another leader would be able to broker a separete peace with the Allies so Germany would be able to turnb its forces against Soviet Union and clin to most of its ill gotten gains. Their problem was not the extermination of Jews (most of them were at the very least indifferent to that issue or even mildly favored it) or the mass murders and rapes in Soviet Unions or the projects of having Russians slaves after victory like in pre-Lincoln times. Stauffenberg was nearly alone in opposing Nazism for moral reasons. Nearly alone between the conspirers and nearly alone in Germany.

#7  All good questions anon1 but difficult to answer as they are hypotheticals. However, 2 maybe 3 cents worth.

#5 My big question, and it's the same for Putin, is: does it actually matter if you kill hitler / putin?

It probably would have depended on the timing. Had this occurred early, it probably would have made a great difference. Later, not so much.

Is the dictator just a symptom of the ruling cabal who will just replace him if he goes.

When Obama goes in 2016, the left will still be pushing open borders, gun control, big government, high taxes, statism, one world order, and other favorites. Some of this also runs through the Pubs. It is larger than one man.

Or does the human agency of that 1 individual actually make a historical difference.

Often true. Likewike, a feckless person without any practical experience and little leadership ability can make a great difference to a country and the world. By doing little or voting present, it too is an action in a sense. The allies prior to the kick-off in WWII were to blame for WWII also. They were into isolationism and appeasement. They should have pulled Hitler's chain early but they didn't.

If you removed Hitler would the Holocaust still have happened?

The Holocaust was well under way when the assassination attempt was made on Hitler. Conditions were different then in the way Hitler came to power and the "stab in back meme" that the German people responded to after WWI. He was very popular among the common German. It is hard to believe that the Holocaust was not accepted by the Germans as it was all around them. They believed Jewish people were the enemy and the cause of many of their woes. Hitler played to their sense of nationalism well with the aid of propaganda and the big lie. Putin does this well too.

If you removed Putin would anything be different in Russia?

Often one person can make a difference, e.g. Reagan, along with Thatcher, Pope Paul II, and Lech Wałęsa in dealing with the USSR. One can also think of Iran in the present. It probably doesn't matter much who is put forth by the mullahs.

Maybe nothing would change as that one person must reflect the views of those powerful enough to put them there

Powerful people put Obama in power and Oberbumble does his best to reflect those interests--their agenda is his agenda.

Obama is talking now. His speech appears to be a little stronger but otherwise more of the same weakness. He could threaten to put missiles back into the countries surrounding Russia. He could push for stronger sanctions. He could offer to supply natural gas to Europe. He could build our military rather take it down. He could pull back on the pink slips of our military. There are many strong actions he could do. He talks a great deal but does little.

#8  Example of a measure Champ could take, but won't:

Dear Vlad: Henceforth, when we see your Anti-Aircraft radars light up anywhere in sector [plus or minus 200k's], we're immediately alerting the Ukrainians as well as the other regional NATO members, and anyone else who wants to know. Have a nice fok'n day you Russian a**hole.

#9  e.g. Reagan, along with Thatcher, Pope Paul II, and Lech Wał™sa in dealing with the USSR.

Which leads to the observation, that the Russians do think taking someone out has an effect. Not to mention Mr. Trotsky as well.

How much effect was taking out Adm Yamamoto in effecting the Pacific campaign? Enough that the higher ups were willing to gamble their knowledge of the Purple Code in order to get him.

Rebels to 'guarantee safety' of crash site monitors if Kiev agrees truce
[Al Ahram] A top Ukrainian rebel leader said on Sunday that the pro-Russian fighters will guarantee the safety of international monitors at the Malaysian jet's crash site if Kiev agrees to a truce.
Translation: the Russians militants have removed the black boxes, stashed the bodies, found all the pieces of the missile they could find, and have cleaned up the site. They've likely planted evidence to implicate the Ukrainians. It's now okay to let the international monitors in to do "their job"...
"We declare that we will guarantee the safety of international experts on the scene as soon as Kiev concludes a ceasefire agreement," the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic's deputy premier Andrei Purgin said in a statement.

He urged Kiev to "immediately conclude such an agreement" with the rebels.

Failure to do so would give the impression that the government is made up of "dangerous lunatics, bloodthirsty maniacs (who are) dangerous not only for the residents of Donbass but also for the world community", Purgin warned.

Purgin's statement came as the international community piled pressure on Russia to get the Moscow-backed rebels to grant Sherlocks full access to the crash site of the Malaysian MH17 jet.

Most Bodies Recovered from MH17, Downed Over Ukraine
[VOA News] The Ukrainian government says 219 bodies have been recovered from the site where a Malaysian airliner crashed after being shot down on Thursday, as well as what they believe are parts of 28 additional bodies. That would leave 51 of the people on the plane still unaccounted for.

Also, a European delegation was given access to the bodies and the crash site in a rebel-held area of eastern Ukraine.

There are still conflicting reports over whether pro-Russian rebels or Ukrainian officials have control over the collected remains. According to some sources, rebels took possession of many of them following their collection by personnel from Ukraine's Emergencies Ministry, who were granted access to the site by the separatists.

According to some reports, many of the bodies are currently in three refrigerated railway cars in the town of Torez, not far from the crash site. Quoting a bigwig of the authorities in Kyiv, Ukrainian media are reporting that negotiations are currently underway to have the bodies transported to territory under Ukrainian government control, possibly to the city of Kharkiv.

'Gruesome'

It is a gruesome and sad scene in a Ukrainian farm field, said Michael Bociurkiw of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, who spoke to news hounds in Kyiv via mobile phone.

"We are looking right now at engine parts and parts of the fuselage. It appears to me that this could be the main section, the mid-section, of the aircraft. And we are also seeing emergency workers picking over a very difficult patch of impact, where there is a lot of debris and body parts and banged up bodies put together."

#1  Hello there all, hello Old Spook...

Vis a vis getting rid of Putin.

I don't see how icing Putin is much different to icing Osama Bin Laden? One is a crime boss at the head of a state, the other a crime boss at the head of a religious transnational body. The only real difference seems to be one of geographic borders. Putin is responsible for a war crime, why can't he just go down?

#4  Besides which, Executive Order 12333 - issued by Reagan in 1981 - prohibits assassination.
Posted by: Rambler in Virginia || 07/21/2014 8:58 Comments || Top||

#5  Reagan did sign E.O. 12333. However, there were many influences in developing this order, some national and some international such as the UN and other groups. Previously, EO 11905 (Gerald Ford) had banned political assassinations and EO 12036 (Jimmy Carter) had further banned indirect U.S. involvement in assassinations. The Church Commission also had a hand in shaping policy. A good discussion of this development is Here. After 9/11, there was somewhat of a rollback into what we have today--targeted killing.

#6  hello TW true Putin was head of the KGB and must be quite wiley

this is someone who can poison people with Polonium in a restaurant... in London!

mmm Besoeker, answered the question i was thinking but didn't articulate properly. I guess with Putin gone the Russian proles would just put another one in

hello JohnQC and Rambler - yes the convention is not to assassinate heads of state, even without an EO to formalise it. I mean if we just went around killing heads of state nobody would be safe. It would be an outrage.

#7  Assassinate Putin? Maybe you want WWIII but I don't. The Russians and Ukrainians have unfinished business. It's been going on for centuries. MH17 got caught in the cross fire. That is most regrettable but it is NOT a cause for us to go to war with Russia.

Putin could be every bit as pathological as Stalin but even so he must understand that MH17 is bad PR and bad for business. He did not personally pull the trigger and most likely he is pissed off because one of his boys did. He's trying to keep this low level proxy war of his under the radar and MH17 isn't helping.

#8  Russian Medias-Bloggers have been busy protratying the Ukraine as wayward or bastard children of the Vikings, the Teutonic Knights, Prussia, + Hitler's Waffen SS.

ITV, iff Russia can control GERMANY = MERKEL, ETAL. espec by not allowing Germany to possess Nukes it will still control the Ukraine.

the court extended pre-arrest interim bail of city's SP security Salman Ali Khan and his gunman Abid till July 26. The Sherlocks told the court that the both SP and the gunman had joined the investigation and cooperated with the interrogators. The SP, in his bail petition, pleaded that he had directions from high-ups to join in the operation. He denied having given shooting orders to cops. The officer stated that he was being dragged into the case baselessly.

The court extended the bail and directed the authorities to submit a report on next hearing after completing investigation.

Hospital hands 'mother of twins' only one baby
[DAWN] Sadia Adeel was happy that she would soon become the mother of twins but her happiness was shortlived when the hospital staff handed her just one child on Friday.

Imtiaz Bibi, the mother of 23-year-old widow, first thought that the second baby of her daughter had died.

When she asked for the body, the doctors and nurses at the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital told her that her daughter had given birth to a baby girl, not twins.

#1  Another commentator accused the parents of Abbas of "raising the child to be a racist from his early age."

Isn't racism, antisemitism, and religious intolerance a way of life in the mooselimb ME? Seems like there might be more to the story that is not reported. A similar incident is currently a part of the news cycle in the U.S. with similar outrage.

Home Front: Culture Wars
Panic! At The Disco Brilliantly Neutralize Westboro Baptist Church Protesters
Westboro Baptist Church, the collection of hate-mongering protesters who have targeted everyone from Lorde to Brad Paisley, recently set their sights on Panic! At The Disco, announcing plans to picket the pop-punk band's Sunday night show in Kansas City, Mo. They even recorded an extremely offensive version of the group's signature hit, re-titled "You Love Sin What a Tragedy."

But instead of letting the homophobic slur-slinging protesters take the spotlight, Brendon Urie, who is married to a woman but speaks openly about bisexual experiences, and co. hatched a brilliant plan to neutralize the WBC protesters before they even arrived.

Today @WBCSays is going to picket us. For every member of WBC that actually shows up we will donate $20 to @HRC #pride2014
, Panic! At The Disco (@PanicAtTheDisco) July 20, 2014
Given the Human Rights Campaign's mission statement, assuring equality at home, work and in the community for the LGBT community, this is pretty much the perfect way to render the protesters' hateful intentions moot, and raise money for a good cause.

When Sunday night came, it seems only 13 members of the Westboro Baptist Church showed up to picket P!ATD. But being the good guys they are, the band pledged to donate more than just $260 to the Human Rights Campaign.

Thank you @WBCSays for the update on the total amount you donated to @HRC today. $20X13= weak. We're going to make it an even $1000.

Panic! At The Disco (@PanicAtTheDisco) July 21, 2014
We will also be donating 5% of our total merch sales from this show to @HRC

Panic! At The Disco (@PanicAtTheDisco) July 21, 2014
