#2 Just goes to show how bad UK is, they don't have emergency backup diesel generators. Major US airports do. Probably worried about "global worming".

They had diesel backup not long ago. But as part of the Net Zero scam, they replaced the diesel with biomass (AKA wood chips).

A diesel motor can drive a generator directly, making it essentially "instant on". A handy property for a backup system. With biomass, you need to build a fire and boil enough water to run a turbine. Takes a bit of time. Meanwhile, the radar is out and the controllers are tapping their dead screens and looking for the fuse box. Happy landing!
