#1 History sides with "journalists, bots, pundits and even government officials"....in Europe anyway. The butcher's bill has not yet been paid.

Everyone knows electronic voting is accurate and free of deception.

Musk is a South African pragmatist and self-made billionaire. He makes payroll each month for tens of thousands of people. He knows nothing.

[sarc off]

#2 Professor Sacks got a dose of media monitoring, "Media efforts to keep control of the narrative that Russia is behind the pipeline leaks are being derailed by actual evidence and the Biden administration’s own words." Then this "Unfortunately for Keene, Sachs brought receipts, pointing to “direct radar evidence” confirming a U.S. military presence around the pipelines prior to the leaks.

“Well, first of all, there’s direct radar evidence that U.S. helicopters, military helicopters that are normally placed in Gdańsk were circling over this area,” Sachs noted."

So as with Musk you are crushed as soon as possible if you propose an alternative thought.

So more media control on alternative thought is required. So similar to vaccine efforts.

#5 I think even the other technocrats, globalist putzes really, will be rallied against him for daring to step into the domain of big government. Frankly I don't know if he's bad news in the long run. Governments may feel the same way. If he can supply oomph and muscle to the dominant faction, only then does he survive. Or they come after him.

Musk represents a move away from the traditional system of government and elected figureheads altogether. And he uses tech to bring the 'democracy' to folks who think they matter. He already has constituencies, just not territorially situated. Customers instead if servile citizens. Client governments instead of allies. That's the way to really do government. Monarchy through technology.

#8 Musk has more wisdom and makes more sense than any of the current Western government “experts.”

The real experts — the people who’ve studied this matter for decades, like America’s John Mearsheimer, Ambassador Jack Matlock, Ray McGovern, Bill Burns and every other true expert on Russia — told their governments that NATO expansion and threatening Russia’s hold on Crimea would lead to a devastating war.

Musk didn’t stray outside his expertise; he is simply repeating the wisdom of brilliant and sane men like Mearsheimer and Kissinger, exposing his 107 million followers to their wise counsel and bulletproof arguments.

These arguments have been almost completely suppressed by our lapdog Pravda-media. Mearsheimer told us in April that escalation was “remarkably foolish,” that it would unleash forces and events which our leaders could not control, and he was right. Kissinger said the same in May.

Now we’re facing the prospect of nuclear war. Musk is just amplifying their wisdom.

#9 ^ Yes. Musk is ahead of the curve, as usual, and our idiot leaders are ignoring reason and leading us off a cliff.

The intellectual caliber of Musk’s critics is nicely demonstrated by that flaming asshole, the undiplomatic former Ukrainian ambassador to Berlin who calls his hosts Nazis while he supports his own country’s Nazis.

Ambassador Scheisskopf-Melnyk and his boss don’t refute any if Musk’s points. They just hurl f-bombs and sling sarcasm. These are the creeps on whose behalf our leaders tell us we have to launch WWIII. F—- YOU, Melnyk.

Musk is correct, as are Ray McGovern and the other gentlemen referred to above.

#10 Public opinion is with Musk.

The most recent poll of American likely voters shows overwhelming (57% to 32%) support for immediate negotiations with Russia and overwhelming opposition to escalation.

The German public also favors ending the war. The German Parliament last week overwhelmingly rejected request to increase arms supplies to Ukraine - here’s Reuters:

“The CDU/CSU Christian Democratic Union suffered defeat in the Bundestag with a proposal to increase military support for Ukraine. In a roll-call vote, 179 MPs voted in favour of the proposal, 476 were against and one abstained, the German public broadcaster ARD reported.”

The people can see what Musk and every other sensible person sees: Escalation is going to end with us and the Russians in a pile of rubble.

Common sense demands that we work to end this war ASAP, not drag us into yet another one of our foolish elites’ forever wars in shitty countries where we have no vital interest.

Interesting. Most of the Republican candidates that Trump endorsed (like JD Vance) are saying similar things. Any policy that Musk, Trump and Vance agree upon can’t be all bad.

#13 “According to a poll conducted by the Quincy Institute for Responsible Statecraft and Data for Progress, 57% of likely voters strongly or somewhat support the US pursuing diplomatic negotiations as soon as possible to end the war in Ukraine, even if it requires Ukraine making compromises with Russia. Just 32% of respondents were strongly or somewhat opposed to this.

“And nearly half of the respondents (47%) said they only support the continuation of US military aid to Ukraine if the US is involved in ongoing diplomacy to end the war, while 41% said they support the continuation of US military aid to Ukraine whether the US is involved in ongoing diplomacy or not.”

Even if we somehow pull our idiot leaders away from the brink, it is highly probable now that the course of this war will destroy our European allies’ industry, their economies and their wealth. These fools gloating about new NATO members fail to see the obvious: this war will destroy Western Europe and turn the Germans, Italians, French etc against the US — permanently. #18 Billy, the eurines have not been our friends since a few days after WW II ended. They have been happy to piggyback on our defense spending and to export their products to the US, but friends they are not.

While we should not need a dangerous war with Russia to distance ourselves from them, we should be doing that just the same.

"support the US pursuing diplomatic negotiations". What a squishy question signifying nothing. Of course people are will say they support negotiations. It a cost free virtue signaling. Ask them which side they want to win the their real positions become clearer.

#22 Billy, the eurines have not been our friends since a few days after WW II ended

I get your drift but that’s more than a little exaggerated, Murcek. It’s more complicated than that.

Of course they pursue their own interests, but the UK, France, Germany and Italy have each defined those interests differently from each other — and differently at different times. Adenauer was adamantly pro-US; De Gaulle was not. The socialist Helmut Schmidt was very pro-US, the right-leaning French presidents Giscard and Chirac were not. Kohl and Schroeder went their own way on major issues; Merkel was very pro-American but still pursued her own path.

What’s obvious now is that the German, French and Italian populations at a minimum — probably the Spanish too, and definitely the Hungarians and the Czechs — have soured on NATO and will look to drop out altogether at some point in the near future.

They were already moving that way when the US and it’s proxies blew up German industry’s lifeline. Unbelievably stupid move on Biden’s part — unless of course one of his evil puppet masters is actually trying to destroy Germany and the rest of Western Europe with it….

#28 American popular support for the war is collapsing. Pew’s latest poll results show that even before all this batshit crazy talk of nuclear war with Russia, support had cratered since May:

“The share of U.S. adults who are extremely or very concerned about a Ukrainian defeat is down 17 percentage points since May, falling from 55% then to 38% today.

Roughly a quarter (26%) say they are not too concerned or not at all concerned about Russia defeating Ukraine, up from 16% earlier this year.

An additional 34% are somewhat concerned about this, compared with 28% who said so in May, according to a Pew Research Center survey among 10,588 U.S. adults, conducted Sept. 13-18 – in the days prior to Russian President Vladimir Putin’s September 21 announced mobilization of several hundred thousand additional Russian reservists to fight in Ukraine.

With the conflict front and center at the UN General Assembly meetings this week, concern about the possibility of U.S. and NATO support for Ukraine leading to a broader war with Russia has also declined. Around a third of adults (32%) say they are extremely or very concerned about this, down from 49% in May. Concern about Russia invading other countries in the region – not just Ukraine – has also decreased: 41% of adults are currently extremely or very concerned about this, down from 59% in the spring.”

#38 Here is the Quincy poll from September of US likely voters, including all the questions and detailed results (cross tabs for Democrats, Independents and Republicans).

Of all the possible “Top 3 Concerns” offered, the Russian war in Ukraine polled dead last, with only 6% of all Likely Voters saying it was a major concern for the United States.

“From September 16 to 19, 2022, Data for Progress conducted a survey of 1,215 likely voters nationally using web panel respondents. The sample was weighted to be representative of likely voters by age, gender, education, race, and voting history. The survey was conducted in English. The margin of error is ±3 percentage points.
N=1,215 unless otherwise specified. Some values may not add up to 100 due to rounding.

[1] “Of the choices listed below, what do you think are the top three most important issues facing America today?

1. Inflation - 46% consider inflation a top 3 issue for the US
2. Jobs and the Economy - 31%

Tied for #3:
Abortion / Women’s reproductive rights - 26%
Climate change and the Environment - 26%
Immigration - 25%
Crime and public safety - 24%
Gun Violence - 24%
Government spending and the deficit - 23%

Lesser concern:
Social Security and Medicare - 19%
Healthcare - 16%

Not a concern for over 90% of voters:
Coronavirus pandemic - 9%
Education - 7%
The Russian war in Ukraine - 6%

Going on $100 billion worth of military hardware supplied by Biden to the Ukrainians. All Biden has to do to get Zelensky to the negotiating table is to pause future shipments. But Biden thinks Ukraine plus possible regime change in Moscow is worth the risk of nuclear war so the shipments will continue and so will the war. Nobody can say now with any certainty how this madness will end. Thanks, Joe.

Sorry Dahlink, to young for that. Graduated about the same time the Soviet Empire of Lies crumbled. Pity that democracy never took hold in Russia. Too many innately selfish people screwing each other and believing Soviet lies for too long to form a free society. They were waiting for some strong man to lead them like sheep. Too bad it was a short, bald, passive-aggressive KGB thug with Napoleon and Hitler complexes instead of a George Washington. But Russia doesn't make make George Washingtons.

Pity Russia wasted its natural resources, industrial and scientific bases and dwindling population to pursue a megalomaniac's dream. You will be lucky to come out of this with only 1-2 hundred thousand deaths and total isolation from the civilized world. A colder, larger North Korea. But all is not lost. China will love you long time. A very long time.

If any good comes of this, Putin will take short walk from a high window before Russia is broken into pieces.

Since the collapse of the Soviet Union there has been only one reason for the continued existence of NATO. It's not to keep Russia out of Western Europe. The Russians these days can't even get past Kiev. The real reason for keeping NATO going is to keep the Germans from ever militarizing again. It is most important to keep Germans fat, dumb and happy. If Germany breaks from NATO, all bets are off.

#56 All Biden has to do to get Zelensky to the negotiating table is to pause future shipments.

Which would formalize Russia's annexation of Ukrainian territory. Are you sure you weren't Obama's negotiator with the Ayatollahs? Or if that Aztlan turns out to be a thing, you could be President John Kerry's negotiator.

#57 If any good comes of this, Putin will take short walk from a high window before Russia is broken into pieces.

Yeah, and then what? Think about it, war monger. You don't know, do you? The outcome is totally unpredictable. You're willing to bet your butt it will be better but you just might lose.

#58 Which would formalize Russia's annexation of Ukrainian territory.

It was never Ukraine's territory until somebody drew a line on a map after the Soviet Union collapsed. Until then Ukraine was never independent. Never. Ukraine existed at Russia's pleasure because it provided a buffer between Western Europe and Russia. The territory Putin has annexed is full of ethnic Russians who want nothing to do with you. And yet, Biden is willing to risk nuclear war for it. Unfuckingbelievable.

Everybody calls Putin's referendum in those territories a sham. Maybe so. Too bad nobody cares enough to try to find out how those people really feel. Zelensky doesn't. That's for damn sure. Neither does Biden. I must tell you, Zelensky and Biden are no more credible than Putin. So we have war.

#59 You must not have eaten much lunch much at school as the loud mouth bullies emptied your pockets.

It doesn't matter if the successor is better or worse than Putin. You make sure Russia is no condition to start more wars. That is done by defeating them in the current war and cutting them off from income and technology to make weapons and support a large army.

Without doubt, the Ukrainians are impressed with your generosity in deciding their fates for them.

#60 Or if that Aztlan turns out to be a thing, you could be President John Kerry's negotiator.

Which brings us to the subject of America's border with Mexico. Be assured, Ukrainian war monger, Biden notwithstanding, there are those of us in America who are far more concerned with our own border than we are with yours. All it takes is a few seats in Congress to be flipped in the November election and all that military hardware that Biden keeps sending you could be stopped. Ponder that, smug war monger.

#61 It's Biden who empties my pockets and gives the money to you. You are riding high on it right now but your continued success is far from certain because it depends on Biden's largess. You might want to develop some contingency plans in case that changes.

Tsk, tsk. You were doing so well making grownup arguments. Is it possible anymore to have a discussion that does not devolve into name-calling?

You make sure Russia is no condition to start more wars. That is done by defeating them in the current war and cutting them off from income and technology to make weapons and support a large army.

tl;dr: You want to destroy Russian as a nation. I'm having trouble imagining a scenario where the Russians would willingly go along with that. To be fair, there is a vid clip of ex-General Jack Keene articulating this exact position.

#65 I don't want to destroy Russia nor preserve it. I want them isolated and weak enough that they don't start any more wars of conquest, especially not in Europe. Ideally, I don't want anything more to do with them.

We have no vital interest in Ukraine. None at all.

Only a fool would support Shit-for-brains Biden’s foolish war with nuclear-armed Russia over that wretched shithole called Ukraine.

Fools rush in where eagles fear to tread. It’s not worth risking nuclear war over. Only a Biden fanboy would disagree.

#71 Russia isn’t isolated in the slightest. They have the two largest + two of the three wealthiest countries on the planet on their side. Over 80% of the world’s peoples have refused to side with Biden and his clown show sanctions that are enriching Russia and India while they destroy Germany and Europe and impoverish Americans.

This is the stupidest, most self-destructive foreign policy of our lifetimes. It’s really just a diversion, a wag the dog redirect designed to gull naive little rubes like the tough-talking Barney Fife character above while Biden and his fellow freaks destroy our economy, trash our Constitution and turn our country into a kleptocratic Woke police state. All while they line their pockets and those of the their military industrial complex pals.

You’d have to be an amnesiac or a deaf dumb and blind kid not to spot the scam these jokers are perpetrating. (Or a wet behind the ears Little Rambo wannabe like our friend.)

#73 The Barney Fife phase of this bullshit war is over. It got real as soon as the Russians mobilized and threatened us with nukes.

Sullivan is talking directly with Putin now. From The Hill:

“White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan on Sunday said the U.S. has had private, high-level talks with leaders in Moscow about Russian President Vladimir Putin’s threat to use nuclear weapons amid the ongoing conflict in Ukraine…. Sullivan on Sunday said the U.S. has been in contact with senior Russian officials “frequently” over the last few months, and as recently as in the last few days — despite worries since the start of the war that the U.S. was struggling to get in touch with Moscow.

“The top White House national security aide said administration officials have been “careful to protect the timing and the content” of conversations with the Kremlin… .”

Easy to read between the lines here. Biden’s people have come to Jesus: they’d may be foolish but they’re not so batshit crazy as to think the Russians don’t mean it when they threaten nuclear war. The Russians will not lose this war. It’s about 1000x more important to them than it is to us.

Exit ramp time.

The obvious path out of this mess is to negotiate a peace treaty that divides, demilitarizes and neutralizes Ukraine, more or less where the two armies are arrayed now. The Ukrainians will do as we tell them to, and like it.

#76 Russia has hypersonic missiles that can turn the East Coast into glass in short order. They cannot and will not let NATO threaten their vital base on Crimea. They will risk nuclear war over it. We will not. They know this, Sullivan and Blinken know this, and frankly, most Americans and west Europeans know this.

This is why Sullivan et al are so eager to negotiate now. The Biden people have nothing to gain and everything to lose by escalating this war. The Russians called their bluff, and they’re going to fold soon.

#77 Biden cut and ran from Afghanistan after he lied shamelessly about every aspect of the war. He’ll cut the Ukrainians loose after the election.

What he says in private is another story:

According to veteran diplomat Richard Holbrook, Biden argued that the US should leave Afghanistan despite the humanitarian costs.

F–k that. We don’t have to worry about that,” he allegedly told Holbrooke. “We did it in Vietnam. Nixon and Kissinger got away with it.

The conversation between the pair was documented in Holbrooke’s diary that was eventually included in George Packer’s 2019 book, “Our Man: Richard Holbrooke and the End of the American Century.”

Shit for brains Joe doesn’t admire Nixon and Kissinger’s diolomatic skill or their cunning or political imagination and daring; what Joe the small time criminal admires is that “they got away with it.

I concur that he is preparing to cut the Ukrainians loose. November-December sounds right

#80 According to one of their top officials, Biden’s people are “panicking” over OPEC’s / the Saudis’ determination to slash oil production by 1 million barrels this week. They’re staging a “furious last-ditch effort” to try, in vain no doubt, to prevent this.

If they panic over an OPEC price rise and and scramble furiously to try to prevent it, what makes you think they won’t panic over the threat of nuclear war and scramble furiously to try to placate Russia?

Does anyone seriously believe that Joe Biden and his rainbow crew are stronger, mentally emotionally and morally, than the Russian leaders?

If so, where did you get such an idea?
