The man charged with killing seven people at an Independence Day parade confessed to police that he unleashed a hail of bullets from a rooftop in suburban Chicago and then fled to the Madison, Wisconsin area, where he contemplated shooting up an event there, authorities said Wednesday.

The gunman turned back to Illinois, where he was later arrested, after deciding he was not prepared to pull off a shooting in Wisconsin, Lake County Major Crime Task Force spokesman Christopher Covelli said at a news conference following a bond hearing.

An Illinois judge ordered the suspect to be held without bail.

Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney Ben Dillon said in court that the gunman “looked down his sights, aimed” and fired at people across the street, killing seven and wounding more than two dozen. He left the shells of 83 bullets and three ammunition magazines on the rooftop.

Federal agents were reviewing Crimo’s online profiles, and a preliminary examination of his internet history indicated that he had researched mass killings and had downloaded multiple photos depicting ~~violent~~ mostly peaceful acts, including a beheading, a law enforcement official said.

The official could not discuss details of the investigation publicly and spoke to The News Agency that Dare Not be Named on condition of anonymity.

#5 Did Crimo and his mother have some sort of....special relationship ?

Did Crimo target someone specifically ?

Did someone downtown do him or his mother wrong ?

Has he been tested for drugs? Has SHE been tested for drugs ?

I'm no expert but it seems like it might take some time for one lone shooter to fire that many shots and hit that many people. Surely the people were all running for cover after the first few shots. Couldn't they find any cover? How were that many people like so many sitting ducks? Or...did this admittedly deranged young man have an accomplice?

We allow people to sue companies over defective products. The judicial establishment likes to blame the gun, not the shooter.

Nothing will change until that misplaced focus is corrected...
