While you weren't looking, Ukraine's export economy has been almost completely destroyed.

Ukraine is now landlocked. They have lost all their non-EU markets and cannot replace them with European markets. (Try exporting agricultural goods to the EU when those goods compete with EU farmers' products. Good luck with that.)
