The current PCR type tests don't exactly show which variant is responsible for a positive. The genome has to be tested separately and this is not nearly as fast as the PCR test. The USA has lagged behind other countries like South Africa and the UK in doing this. Most likely the Moronic variant was worldwide by the time South Africa broke the news.
The ongoing deaths from whatever variant are usually omitted by the MSM in its hysterical hype.
