#1 It is tragic that no one in Washington can explain locically the need for the present alliance with Turkey. That being said, given its stupidity it must be a policy fostered by the Pentagon.

#2 Like for Ukraine, there is a loyal constituency for Turkey inside the Pentagon and they won't let go without an ugly fight.
