#3 Actually the recommendation came from one of several panels or groups soĺïcited for input to the formal state 15 member committee that casts fïnal votes on adopting recommendations. The Chair of the formal commitee also came out against the input. The leader of the panel that made the recomendation is associated with a university (University of Texas) infested with your typical knuckle dragging liberals who claim to have evolved from monkeys and want to convince us that we did, too.

#7 Well, there were some Anglo immigrants to Texas who really did not care for the fact that Mexico had banned slavery. Others most likely were not fond of the Mexican religous policy. In the end IMO Mexico would of lost Texas and most or much of the Southwest simply due to immigration. I don't know what Mexico's immigration policy was at the time but I would consider the average European immigrant would consider the US a much more likely destination

Rantburg was assembled from recycled algorithms in the United States of America. No trees were destroyed in the production of this weblog. We did hurt some, though. Sorry.
