#1 I can never decide how influential Reddit is. Never read it myself.

Does have a big valuation though.

#2 go-ogle renamed itself to alphabet (agency). They're not even trying to hide in plain sight.

#4 Reddit is huge with millennials. They need more mature conservative voices. Everyone should register there and start commenting. Think of it as the USENET of the 21st century.

It's not switching your browser, it's switching your default search engine. I already use duckduckgo.com and it's fine. As good as google, but without the censorship. Everyone change away from Google, we have to show them our numbers. Train your fingers to go away from Google.com for search

#6 Reddit is huge with millennials.

Trailing daughter #2 loves it. When she was on internships in Japan and Germany, she consulted Reddits for the cities where she was to live, and made many friends through their activity meet-ups. She tried to do the same when she was transferred to Dallas -- I don't know if that was as effective.

#7 I'm on Day Two of using DuckDuckGo with the Opera browser. So far, so good.

#8 Prefer StartPage (no tracking and good results) from within the Brave browser - max privacy without having to do a bunch of behind the scenes programming.

#10 Duckduckgo is not as good as google. It can't be. These days good web design means optimizing for Google. That said, DDG is pretty good (better than bing, unless you are looking for p0rn).

I noticed years ago that global warming articles I recalled reading could not be found using Google. Started saving them, and have done some tests. If I use the exact article name I can find it on Google. If not, it doesn't appear at all, no matter what I search for -- at least on the first 20 or so pages of search results I was willing to look at. There is no doubt in my mind that Google buries news it doesn't like. The problem is that DDG does not reproduce these articles either.

#11 Google tweaks their results so they show what they want you to see for the most part. Bing is ok and doesn't do that. DuckDuckGo is better at searching and really doesn't filter shit.

So go with anything that isn't tied to Google or their ads and fuck the man.

#12 I have used DuckDuckGo off and on. It works fine. They state: "Switch to the search engine that doesn't track you. What you search for is your own business and we’d like to keep it that way. That’s why we don’t collect any personal information and therefore, have none to share."

#13 I've been using Bing but often go to DuckDuckGo. Wiki has a fairly good comparison chart of search engine features: Search engines.

#14 I just loaded Brave on my iPad. Seems fine, actually quick. Very little experience so far though. Also, I have been using DuckDuckGo for a while now, it is good enough. Anything but G/Alpha.

So, first look is okay.

#15 Been running Brave for well over a year - couldn't stand the thought of Edge. Early on there were some issues as it was brand new but it's been very stable for some time now. Flash and Google Widevine are off as defaults though you can turn them on if you want.It is fast because you can turn off ads and trackers - has a feature where you can see the number of ads and trackers blocked - e.g., zero for rantburg; 12 ads and 1 fingerprinting tracker blocked for Instapundit.

#16 I noticed years ago that global warming articles I recalled reading could not be found using Google.

Try looking up topics like "coal mines" or "steel mills" or "electricity generation". You'll end up with results that will have environmentalist, labor, and other leftist groups ending up with erections lasting longer than four hours.

#17 I tried this search on Google and DDG on Sunday.
"How many times did Barrack Obama denounce White Supremacy"
It helps to remind yourself that the war is for our minds. The ideas they plant have so much more impact that a Nato 5.56 round.
Once you start a cognitive process of looking for the propaganda, it is actually everywhere!
Feels like that Sci-Fi movie with Rowdy Roddy where the glasses show the aliens in clear contrast. "Them" I believe.
