#1 they’re soulless businessmen

You just noticed? Never had a problem with multi-millionaires getting taxpayers to fund their entrainment centers stadiums? It's not like they're hospitals, fire or police stations, schools, ect. That's right, you are parasite that rides the back of those soulless businessmen.

#2 ...Mr Smith does not seem to realize that the team owners - however liberal they may be in their personal politics - are remarkably hard-nosed businesspeople. They are NOT going to kill the goose, but they also have to take public opinion into account...which is why they let that nice Mr Kaepernick fella do what he wanted, and not incidentally have a lousy season or two in the process.

The fact is that Colin has let his politics run away with him (not a good idea but perfectly legal) and let his skills go in the process (a very bad idea). He has no one to blame for his current state of unemployment but himself.

Mike

PS - there's a school of thought among the media that after a few QBs go down with injuries, Kaepernick will suddenly be a hot commodity. I hope no one is betting their house payments on that.

#3 Probably hard for Mr. Stephen A. Smith, but did he look at the viewership of NFL games, the attendance at the games where Colin Kaepernick played (or showed up)?

Does Mr. Stephen A. Smith even know the viewership and attendant revenue numbers for ESPN?

#4 Are you suggesting, pater, that $$$ is more important than social justice?

I strongly suspect Mr Stephen A. Smith doesn't give a rat's backside about either of those things as long as his paychecks keep clearing.

#7 So, when, say, the NFL owners refuse to allow Smith to interview anybody in their organizations?
No racism there...

It's rather hard to provide any African-American athlete exorbitant compensation on a multi-year contract with anything else but money.

Why shouldn't it? Remember what happens to one of us who offends their "sensibilities"?

#12 Didn't he have a game with more turnovers than yards gained?

ESPN is worse than TMZ, and nowhere near as credible.

#13 Well, aside fro the obvious, who could resist a QB who led his team to a 2-14 season?

#14 Besides the fact that Kaepernick is garbage (Stephen's words for bad players, not mine), he will cause whatever team he is with to lose viewers and revenue.

So yeah... soulless.... Kinda like you Stephen. Sacrificing everything and worshiping at the alter of the SWJ.

Fuck you and fuck ESPN. May you all lose everything and go broke.

#16 Steve, why not hire Colin (such a white name!) at ESPN and let him lend his gravitas.
I remember when ESPN first started they were only on two to three hours each day Monday thru Saturday. Anyway we can return to that?
