#1 Would these be the same French officials that were all warm and tingly over Mr. Obama's election?

The Article 5 question is interesting. I'm guessing it won't come up seriously until there are a couple more major attacks. I'm gonna pick London and Spain.

Never was. Didn't want to be. France is part of the political agreement, but not the defense agreement. This dude is talking out his ass about invoking Article 5. Inapplicable. NATO has no legal obligation to respond to attacks on France.

Which might be a good thing, as they don't have to wait around for anyone's cooperation or permission.

Now is no time to hold grudges, but for the record, I'm kinda thinkin fuck you, Frenchies, for denying use of your airspace when Reagan bombed Libya, and for making a stink over Iraq in 2003.
