#2 Headline and article are inaccurate. This was not a Navy aircraftcarrier, except in a very literal meaning that would also fit a similarly purposed barge. it was a civilian auxiliary ship, and it was an aircraft transporter, not operational. Also it was docked, an was in only 20 feet of water when it was holed, and did not have a navy crew on board for DC.
