#2 One could argue that the NSA is supposed to be watching our nation's enemies,foreign and domestic, and therefore Congress is fair game.

#4 I like the idea the NSA is spying on my nation's enemies. But I also know tools like phone call meta-data and social network analysis can be used for political advantage, to bring down political opponents, or maybe nudge a Supreme Court Justice in a certain direction.

It all comes down to trust. We seem do seem to be playing by Chicago Rules now. Maybe we always did but it just wasn't as obvious.

Side note: maybe it's old skool, but isn't a big part of spying not getting caught doing it?
