#1 The comments section are a good read. Media war in action now. Whip up support for the one. What a team. McCain, Ed Asner, Hillary, Carville, Petraeus and Powell is a no show. Next Alec Baldwin and Fonda. Sounds like a Democrat wet dream or at least a TV series. Babs could do the intro music with Springsteen.

#2 I meant Powell was a no show. Wake me up when this is over. OH, now that was a dream.

#3 Syrian intervention....

Is he referring to the WWII invasion of the low countries? In that case, I reckon he'd be correct.

#4 Actually it's closer to a mirror image of the Spanish Civil War. Though the WWI-scarred US government officially stayed out of that war, there was private support given to both sides.

#5 the Spanish Civil War is seldom discussed, nor taught. It's almost as if a lot of parties on both sides are embarrassed

Perhaps because they should be, Frank.

#7 Couldn't he (O) just parachute into Syria and kill Assad with his bare hands---the way he did Osama?

It's covered by Red Omerta, which we've acquiesced to all too much.

#9 I can name a few conflicts that have taken place in sub-Saharan Africa that are no longer discussed as well. Perhaps outcomes failed to meet expectations..... or did they ?

Well, Stalin backed the Communists 'Republicans' and Hitler backed the Nationalists. And the Euro democracies sat it out. Damn, there seems to be a theme here.

#11 Spanish Civil war. Didn't that happen during the Hitler/Stalin peace treaty? Or was it before?
