#1 Darn, I thought it was a good question. It could be answered many different ways.

It might depend on the actual students in the class.

#4 No, but I would if I knocked my English teacher down. I always found English teachers were frustrated psychology majors. My best English teacher was my Latin teacher.

#5 My Latin teacher had a nervous breakdown. He completely lost control of his classes toward the end. The type who should have never been a teacher.

#6 Mine was an ex-nun in a public school earnbing money for her mother's medical bills. How great she was and how much times have changed is illustrated by this interchange at a back to school night:

Parent: My son complains he can't hear you in class and after listening to your presentation, I can understand why.

Teacher: Then you'll have to listen harder, also.

#8 No, Cyber Sarge, you're thinking of science. In Ohio, not known for its public school system, four years of English are required in high school, although drama can count as the last two semesters.
