#1 If you ever watched night fire training and the number of tracer ricochets this would be no surprise. Granted that tracers are fairly unstable it still amazing to me the spray of ricochets in all directions. Well designed bullet traps are a GOOD thing.

#2 When I was a young 'un, we had a friend with a 25mm French anti-tank cannon. Every 4th of July we would fire several rounds at a pond in his back yard. Consumption of large amounts of alcohol accompanied the firing.

To this day I am amazed that we did not hit anything valuable.
