#1 Yikes!

Unless someone can get to a cutoff valve (that would actually cut off the burning gas), the best thing they can do is let it burn itself out,

#2 I was once told by a metallurgist that propane is the worst fire to be around. Sometimes it acts like "gaseous napalm", seemingly sticking to your skin while burning. He had been burned in a lot of fires, but made it a point to avoid propane.

#4 A firefighter friend of mine told me that a propane fire is extremely hot, 200ft away and it feels like it is going to melt your face. Also its hard to put out, you can put the water right on it and it refuses to go out.

#5 i was on a volunteer FD when i lived in Colorado. we had a propane fire (1000 gal tank) and 4 pumpers couldn't put it out... after an hour and a half the tank ran out. we did keep it cool enough not to rupture and blow. we saved the house but the garage and a barn were total losses.
