#1 A couple of update-y things:

The Akron ~~Leakin' Urinal~~ Beacon-Journal house editorial today reversed itself and called for Dann to serve out his term because he's doing such a great job (apart from the sex scandal, misuse of state funds, and a top aide boasting of his Mafia ties, that is).

Ten years ago, Governor Strickland, then a mere Congresscritter, voted against all four articles of impeachment brought against Bill Clinton. If I were Marc Dann, I'd be ~~a lowlife scum-sucking ratweasel~~ wondering why he wouldn't stick up for me the way he stuck up for Clinton.

#2 It's simple Mike. It's about power. Keeping Billy Boy in meant the Donks retained their power, for what is was. Getting Dann'O to resign keeps the power too, by distancing themselves from the wretch.

Problem here is we DO know what Democrats mean by the phrase "Clean House"
It means "Cover up and destroy all evidence"
It means "Publish as many lies, disinformation and half-truths as needed".
It means "Dammit he got caught, Buy judges, Attorney Generals and Courts as needed"
It means "Find out who told, and destroy them"

Yes we're well aware exactly what they mean.
