#1 A bit OT : criminal forest fires as a possible terror strategy/tool has been discussed here IIRC, I think WND articles mentioned that possiblity too (they're a bit wild-eyed, agreed), when there was quite a severe string of criminal Us forest fires, and here in France (but by the Islamophobic™ crowd) when it was noted that several caught arsonists were Youths from the 'hood going to the country to start fires, a couple/few years ago when there was too a severe forest fires summer.

#2 And IIRC, Israel has had its share of criminal forest fires lighted up by paleos as part of the constant wearing down of the Zionist Entity™.

#3 Greece has had its set forest fires recently as well. I seem to remember authorities catching some vandals who started a fire which killed a firefighter - seems they were going bring a charge a murder against them; it was in California I believe.

It is something the fire department I'm in (and our neighbors) should be prepared for.

#4 The cedar forests have been suffering from severe infestations of various sorts over the past decades. I do hope this doesn't wipe out the species in its native range, along with the flora and fauna living among the trees.

This sounds like exactly the kind of nihilistic behaviour Hizb'allah would engage in, after claiming the destruction of much of Shiite Lebanon as a victory against the Jews last summer.

#5 The civilized world has to take a page out of the terror playbook.
If and when a terrorist, especially one supported by a known foreign entity, commits such destructive acts, simply instruct your (Lebanon's) operatives to take out any one of a list of Syrians hiding within the population. Tomorrow, there may still be fires burning, but there will be fewer Syrians toasting kabobs.
Then, ha, demand an investigation.

#6 Latest report is over 200 fires

#7 It's more than evident that the 9-11 atrocity and Beslan just weren't enough. These 200 fires will consume exactly how much of Lebanon's endangered cedars and overall greenbelt? By now Islam's rapacity is crystal clear. How much more havoc shall these Muslim psychos be allowed to wreak before some serious blowback occurrs?
