This will not trouble the Chinese one whit. According to another report I read somewhere, any Chinese policeman can use his PDA to summon up the last five emails you sent.

Don't think this sort of monitoring is restricted solely to China. At one point during the 1990s, American politicians were considering tracking cash transactions by placing bar code on all paper currency.
