#3 Mark, it was alarming 15 years ago. Now it is critical.

Sweden is a writeoff. Norway and especially Danmark have still some chance to self-correct. But as the Europe becames more and more Eurabia, the gravitational pull may be too strong for them to erect defences.

Somehow, it would be nice if we could preserve the cultural artefacts in Western Europe before TSWHTF, else they would be gone forever.

#4 It's not any more alarming than plenty of other developments in this new world disorder. Civilizations change, nations rise and fall, greatness comes and goes. Europe's era passed long ago. Europe is now a dying continent, and if demographic trends continue, as they likely will, one of two things invariably must give way: either the European welfare state will be radically scaled back due to the inversion of worker:pensioner ratios, or else Europe will have to assimilate many millions, probably 100 million by 2050, of immigrants and their children from the middle east and Africa.

In other words, the EU's choice is either to become more capitalist and "Anglo-American" or still addicted to the welfare state but paying for it with scores of millions of young muslims.

I'd bet on the latter. For us, the policy implications of a pro-jihadist EUrabia are enormous. Best to start contemplating and addressing them now, IMO.

The only houses of worship in western Europe that routinely attract a decent turnout of people under 60 are mosques. As for preserving Europe's (excuse me--sorry to use the word, but here goes) um, er Christian heritage, the obvious solution is for Disney to buy up Chartres, Salisbury, etc and turn them into Christian theme parks targeting American evangelical tourists and Japanese and Chinese tourgroups.

#6 Lex, did not have christian heritage exactly in mind, although I suppose that the old architecture is a part of it. I meant art--sculptures, paintings... would not care that much for last 2 centuries, but would miss renaissance stuff.

#7 Oh, I dunno, we preserved the Alhambra and the mosques in Toledo and Cordoba; perhaps Eurabia's mullahs will return the favor and preserve the Sistine Chapel. With freshly-painted burqas obscuring Michelangelo's nudes, of course...
