Yasser Arafatâs deputy in the PLO, Mahmoud Abbas, said Monday that if offered the post of prime minister, he would seriously consider it. Abbas is considered the front-runner for the job and has the support of Arafatâs Fatah movement, while Fayad has also been mentioned as a contender.

#2 Well, Fayyad must have read the fine print and found the Black Spot (TM), making the correct decision in turning down the job. I would think that he should stay away from Ramallah for the next few weeks also.
