#1 Don't worry about the guns - they weren't handed out complete with magazines. For some reason Saddam lined the route with Republican Guardsmen and flatbed-mounted heavy MGs too, but that's just way too much detail to mention.

Saw Ms Dynamite singing about "freedom" in Hyde Park yesterday - surely Baghdad would have been a better stage. Oh, I forget, we don't actually want freedom, just want to talk about it.

#2 I can only hope that the Iraqis are wrong with their gloating. But I have to add that by now, it's hoping against hope. It actually borders on denying the obvious : Iraq has really won.
